A picturesque traditional cottage, covered in Ivy, with pheasants strolling around the front garden, and far reaching views across beautiful rolling countryside towards Nare Head and Gerrans Bay.

Tranquility and continuity

Over 20 years since we last stayed here and the charm and simplicity are as lovely as ever. A truly tranquil place.
Need a new bin in the kitchen though .

If you’re after a quiet spot this is the place. Only the sound of the birds. The Bothy was ideal for us with a boat in the Percuil. Short hop to St Mawes. We know the area very well and have gravitated away from the busy Portscatho. We hope to come again next year. Nicky is a great host and nothing is too much bother.

A beautiful and peaceful location.
We were happy to be in the lovely cosy cottage on rainy days and made best use of drier days to walk and explore.
All appliances and the log burner are easy to use, and the beds are wonderfully comfortable.

Had a great time, lovely cottage with a great location for walking/dog walks, beach, ferry etc. Hit my head a few times on the low beams but can't blame the builders from however many hundreds of years ago. I'd say the mattress is in need of replacing - it's given up/gone too soft meaning back ache in the morning. Would love to stay again but with a firmer mattress!

The farmhouse is well equipped, comfortable, with adequate heating and hot water, and provides a stock of firewood for the nice warm wood burner in the lounge - which really helps to make the space cosy.
This is necessary as the old lounge windows are very drafty when a cold easterly wind is blowing, as we experienced, despite the heavy curtains used to block out cold air.
The house has great views east to the sea, and the walk through the farm down to the pretty beach is enjoyable too. A great location and attractive area, with your own car necessary to access.
