Chywartha is a lovely terraced property with far reaching sea views over Gerrans Bay towards Gull Rock and Nare Head. Benefits from a parking spot and is only a short walk from village harbour.

Arrived to a clean kitchen and clean bathrooms. Nice to have a parking area. Sadly on arriving dog hair was ingrained on all carpets throughout and these carpets and door mats smelt. House manager Richard was phoned. He very promptly and helpfully cleaned the carpets. He replaced the useless dirty full up cylinder hoover with a clean Dyson. Beds mattresses very soft apart from the upstairs double bedroom mattresses. Fresh towels and bedlinen was supplied but only after requesting it for the 2nd week.
The two sofas in lounge are old and in need of replacing as they were very dipped and uncomfortable. Had to use the back cushions as well on the seating area.
Dishwasher broke down in our 2nd week.
All internal doors had little to no soundproofing. The two upstairs bedroom doors stuck or wouldn't close properly. These were promptly fixed by the home manager Richard.
Dog mess in the front and back garden area. Shrubs a bit overgrown in back garden so making patio area smaller and obscured the sea view to some degree.
Richard the home manager was very helpful and quick to respond to the main issues. We did mention the soft old sofas and tge soft bed mattress but only in pasting. It wasn't possible to replace them for us for our stay
Wouldn't book again.

Chywartha is a lovely holiday home for a family and dog. It is not smart but that suits us with children and dog coming in from the beach. It is well equipped, has a spacious kitchen and is very clean. It's in easy walking distance to the village but also has a parking space which is a bonus. The sea views are lovely and we had a great time staying here. The caretaking team are fantastic.

I stayed at Chywartha with my sister and both of our dogs. The layout worked well for us and the cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with all we needed for or stay. The view from the lounge is amazing. We would book it again.
