Place Lodge is a beautiful gate house opposite the entrance to Place House just across the Percuil River from St Mawes with stunning walks from the door step around St Anthony Headland.

We had the most enjoyable week at Place Lodge. It is such a special cottage, lovely high ceilings, spacious and comfortable with everything we needed for a family of 6. Everything was very clean and comfortable. We were so close to where the ferry from St Mawes comes in (but incredibly quiet of traffic), so perfect and safe for children to paddle, hunt for shells at low tide, go crabbing, swim, kayak. Many lovely beaches within walking distance or short drive. We all had such a wonderful stay - highly recommend and we definitely hope to return next year.
Thank you so much!

Great cottage in a fabulous location. We all really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of walks and kayaking. Ideally it could do with a bit of cutting back and tidying up around the parking area so that you don't get nettled or caught on briars when getting in and out of the car.

We have stayed in the Lodge previously. It is a cottage full of character set in a beautiful location. It has all you require for a holiday. Walks can be taken from the door. The ferry ( in the summer) to St Mawes is a sones throw away. It is ideal for dogs

We have loved Place for many years, staying in the area previously and always thought Place Lodge looked very interesting.
The house was interesting and Stylish in a vintage shabby chic way, the kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped and the heating system was easy to work. The owner/ agent popped in to see if we were settling in on the first afternoon, which was very nice..

The beds were quite comfortable, although I am very fussy and tried them all, pillows were not brilliant.

Place is a beautiful spot, quite remote, we love the ferry to St Mawes which runs throughout the day but stops running early evening.

This cottage has everything you need for a peaceful and relaxing holiday in a wonderful place. The garden is enclosed so safe for your dog and there are lots of great walks from the door. I’d say the cottage is rustic which means you can feel relaxed there with your pet. There is no welcome pack which was fine for us as we always bring our own supplies but worth a mention so others can bring their own milk etc. Nicky was great and made sure we were looked after especially when there was a Powercut which was out of their control. We’ll definitely go back!

We have stayed here on previous occasions. The cottage is ideal for dog owners who want a quiet cottage with ease of access to the walks in the area.

Really enjoyed my week at the Lodge. Plenty of walking to be had from the front door, left my car standing the whole week.
Good shopping to be had at Portscatho and St Mawes, also Pub at Portscatho worth a visit, staff pleasant and food very good, this is the Plume and Feathers, The Standard was closed on the day I went so can't comment.
My hightlight was having a Buzzard visit me in the courtyard at the cottage on several occasions, truly beautiful, would just sit on the back of one of chairs quite happily.
Everything in the cottage was very good and compy,
First time I've been anywhere with no welcome gift but Ah Oh, would not stop me from going back

This is our fourth stay at The Lodge. We love it there. It's so peaceful and quiet, with plenty of beautiful walks from the front door. St Mawes is a short, and regular, ferry journey away. Once in St Mawes , Idle Rocks, Tresanton Hotel and St Mawes Hotel are all in easy reach on foot. A new one for us was The Standard In Gerrans. We visited there three times during our stay.
We'll definitely be visiting again.
