The Summer House is an absolute gem of a property, secluded, quiet, beautifully appointed, and a 2 minute walk from the harbour with panoramic views across the bay.

Second time running at the Summer House with our stays getting longer every year. Very peaceful comfortable house with sea views. Everything you could wish for in St Mawes

On the way down to Cornwall I received a call from the letting agents advising there was a problem with the freezer part of the fridge freezer. I said it was not a problem as we were not intending to the freezer unit. They said it was in hand to change the complete unit.
On arrival we were greeted with a flight of steps which lead to a lovely raised patio with wonderful views across the harbour and out to sea.
Once inside, the lounge was lovely as were the bedrooms, all with great views.
We then went into the kitchen to unload supplies and were greeted with a wet floor which was coming from the fault freezer.
We wiped the water up and stuff paper towels under the freezer door, to soak up excess water for the rest of the week.
We had no water one day, I phoned Dawn the local contact who answered straight away confirm it was a mains problem and all of St Mawes was affected.
Minor problems, all in all a great house and a wonderful week.
The Victory is a great pub to eat in, which is under new management, so many old reviews no longer apply, Paul is a very chatty and personable landlord.

The Summer House is a well equipped and comfortable place to holiday. The sea views and quiet location made it very special and this alone ticked all our boxes.
It is a spacious and comfortable and well looked after home with many thoughtful touches.

First, the good: the house is in a fabulous position, with lovely views. The layout worked really well for our family of five; the kitchen is well-equipped, great shower and hot water pressure, and the summer house is a bonus although we didn't use it. It's just a little dated in places: a new bathroom suite or at the very least a loo seat that fits; the kitchen wooden worktops are also looking very tired with gaps to trap dirt.
Having said that, we really enjoyed our week and would probably rebook – if they'd still have us after this!

Arriving At The Summer House feels like you’re stepping into someone’s home. It is beautifully furnished and decorated and the owners have thought of everything you could need and more. A gorgeous garden too with a patio table and chairs for Summer suppers!
