We spent 5 days at the resort and had a great time. The lodge has all the things we needed and was set out perfectly. The lodge was really clean and comfortable and the outside area was lovely to sit in.

We only had one downside when we
Were there which was a WiFi outage. Whilst that’s perfectly understandable and these things happen we felt the customer service could have been better particularly communication. The lodge had limited phone signal so we heavily relied on the WiFi and when it went down we had to walk off site to be able to make a call to report it and stay there to await a call back - which we actually didn’t receive till the next day.

Once this was rectified our stay was able to resume and we made the most of the following evenings.

The cafe and shop onsite are great (particularly the iced drinks!) and we probably could have done our full shop there. We did however book a food delivery with local supermarket which made our stay easy too.

Tucked away amongst the trees, the perfect hideaway for a relaxing break. Beautiful lodge, fully equipped with everything you need. Will definitely be returning

The accommodation is beautifully decorated and everything we needed was thought of. There were lots of towels, the beds were comfortable and the lodge was warm and clean. The hot tub was kept hot and checked daily.
We were very grateful for the milk, bread and other necessities as, travelling from overseas, we couldn’t bring anything.
The farm shop is amazing. You don’t really need to go anywhere else. A trip to the zoo was about 30 mins and the same to the park and ride, making Chester an easy visit.
My only feedback ( not really a criticism)
Is there is nowhere to put shoes or coats after a walk and little space for luggage, and why only one tea towel when there is a generous supply of everything else?

We chose to stay in The Nordmann Fir as a family of 5 to celebrate my "Special" birthday. Bryony and the team at The Hollies Retreats were brilliant in arranging the extras we had requested to make our celebrations more enjoyable. The lodge has everything you need, with quality furnishings and comfortable beds. We all enjoyed using the hot tub, and with the farm shop on your doorstep, which has an amazing variety of foods, butchers, deli, bakery and more, as well as The Gift Barn and The Fresian Rooms,where our grandson sampled the various hot chocolates available,there is no need to venture far away from your lodge. Eat,drink and relax in fabulous surroundings. We are already planning our next visit.
Thank you to everyone at The Hollies for a birthday to remember.

Short break with dogs

A great place to stay now dogs are allowed. Facilities are excellent inside, and the hot tub is especially welcome. This was also checked and well maintained each day. The shops are all good, and the 10% discount given is a bonus.
I had a problem with no hot water on the second day which unfortunately wasn’t resolved before leaving, but I’m sure this was just ‘one of those things’.
Recycling was good, although a food waste bin would be useful too.
Dog bags and bin to dispose of outside were also a bonus.
Check in/out times are standard but make a 2 night stay very short, an hour earlier and later checking both in and out would make it seem better, it was rushed especially on departure.
Overall, a lovely place but be aware you do need a car to go anywhere.
