We had our wedding at Muckrach Country House, as an exclusive use venue. They were easy to work with, communicative and accommodating - we booked the venue 4 months before our wedding day! Jozsef was very friendly and helpful when organising our day, and very knowledgable about the running of the house. We felt in safe hands. We stayed at the Cathedral House, and it was a beautiful home for our week there. The kitchen, adjoining family room, the four bedrooms, and the three full baths were all nicely appointed. It was a very warm and cozy home, and the nearby restaurants and town were very accessible from the house. It is a central location to anything!
We booked Scot’s Pine Lodge for its closeness to Oulton Park we also needed 3 bedrooms/bathrooms, arrived at the lodge and immediately loved it the open kitchen/dining/living space is spacious and well furnished very luxurious, the bedrooms were also well furnished with plenty of drawer and cupboard space. The beds were so comfy I have asked and been given the details for the mattress as so lovely we all slept so well. We had the most wonderful stay in Cairngorm Cottage. The accommodation is a perfect blend of comfort (think large cosy beds and sofas), luxury (every fitting and fixture), peace (surrounded by stunning countryside) and quality. The design of the cottage flows easily and every space is designed to function well and also to look beautiful. After exploring the large cottage, full of “wow” moments (the view out back, the stairs and mezzanine floor, the master suite), we immediately relaxed and felt at home. Fabulous winning formula! We are regular visitors and as always the lodge is beyond spotlessly clean. The location is lovely and peaceful and the grounds a joy to be in. It’s a good location for lots of areas around the Aviemore and Grantown area. My husband is disabled and this ground floor lodge is perfectly kitted out for him. Unless you are disabled, you wouldn’t appreciate how seamlessly the adaptations have been made in this lodge. Our next two visits are already in our diary!
Been to The Hollies many times and theSpeyside suite remains an excellent choice for a self catering holiday.
Lovely place to stay and very relaxing. It had a lovely private garden. Just a couple of things that would have made it even better. There were only 3 small pans. Not large enough to cook spaghetti in! At least one larger pan would have been good. Also maybe a welcome pack. There was tea, coffee and sugar but usually in other places we have stayed there has been a welcome pack including milk and biscuits or a cake, crisps, even wine and once a whole pack of ground coffee|
A wonderful couple of nights at The Stay, immaculate room, very comfortable & plenty of space in the room. Ideal location for all our requirements. The staff were very friendly & helpful, would highly recommend & hope to return again soon. Thanks to Andy regarding the booking, very helpful.

Iv stayed at the hollies a few times and it never disappoints. Gorgeous place, the cabins are so private, you feel like you’re the only one in the forest. And Stunning inside, can’t wait for my next stay
Service at check in was dreadful. We were not provided with key code and when we got help we were treated rudely. It was as if we were trying to fake a booking. The lady insisted on going through my emails from hollies and even though she had laptop which she could surely have confirmed my booking which was already paid for
This was my third stay at the Hollies Retreats and my second in Grand Fir. I love it! I live in the area, but my grandchildren (who are not young) live in Derbyshire, so it’s great to be able to take them somewhere that is so beautiful and peaceful, yet near to many attractions. The hot tub goes down very well. The lodge was immaculate and fresh as always, I would live there if I could! Thanks to everyone at The Hollies!
We booked for 5 nights away with family and The Hollues Retreats delivered in spades. The Lodge was outstanding with everything we could ever need provided to the highest of standards. And the huge enclosed outdoor space with hot tub and bbq just added to the experience! And to compliment the accommodation we had the amazing farm shop providing the best of local produce and the delicious Fresion Room with amazing food and coffee. Our second time here. We rented two lodges, plenty of living room - the lodges are roomy, comfy and modern - the hot tub and the bbq were the icing on the cake. The staff were incredibly helpful, not just during the stay but also through the booking process. The location is excellent - we enjoyed Chester Zoo and Delamere Forest while we were there.
On arrival we were only able to access one key. Katie from the cafe was wonderful going above and beyond to help us. After a period of time Katie was able to obtain the key for the second room. On arrival at our rooms, the rooms were not set up as asked (single beds) and were not opposite as I was told. Katie came again to help us and was able to access the opposing room which did have the correct configuration. After a long hot day we all wanted to access our rooms quickly and take showers but unfortunately we had to wait while the issues were dealt with. Such a shame as the rooms were love...more
