Having stayed at the Bay, Filey on a number of previous occasions I already knew that the location was perfect for visiting the East Coast resorts.

New England Cottage was easily located and tge adjacent car parking was perfect! The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed. It is very spacious and was clean and well looked after. An en-suite plus a family bathroom, also a downstairs cloakroom, was great with 4 adults occupying the property during our stay!

The owner of the property is extremely helpful and provided all the information we needed. An example of his care and attention was when we found the electric toaster wasn’t working. Within a couple of hours or so from reporting this, a brand new one was delivered. Not a major issue but shows his care and attention.

Our stay was a short few days over the New Year period but the time we spent in the cottage was warm and comfortable, plenty of TV programmes to choose from with TVs in all the bedrooms and lounge.

From booking to departure (and beyond) communication was excellent.

Beautiful accommodation and location, great for families and pets. We loved every moment of this luxurious stay.

Nearby Scarborough and further afield to Whitby, this base was great. Even the weather was kind!

The beach is gorgeous and a brisk 10 minute walk to get there, Uphill return may take longer!

We will define booking again.

Lovely spacious house with plenty of room to accommodate 6 adults 1 infant and a dog had a slight problem with the travel cot on contacting Anthony this was immediately resolved with a brand new one excellent communication and customer care
Everyone commented on how well they slept in comfortable beds the lounge provided enough seating for all to enjoy evening movies
The bay is a lovely holiday village very clean with a lovely well staffed friendly indoor pool with a sauna and steam room our granddaughter just over 5 months enjoyed her first experience of a swimming pool which she loved
This is a lovely wholesome place for a lovely family break whatever your age

Arrived as per request walked in to swarm of flies had to go out and buy fly spray continued to use for the two nights there . Shower filter not cleaned for months (have photos ) and the cubicle still had hair in not been cleaned well to say leave at 9.30 and not allowed to arrive till 3pm leaves good time for a clean bath loose from the wall . Downstairs bedroom blind broken we fixed it so noone see in should have been picked up by cleaners Plinth in kitchen kept falling down Kettle needs descaling it's not pleasant Location is very good the beds are comfy. Good WiFi room sizes very good shower in bathroom works well . Property needs some repairs and TLC

Thank you for your review and the positive comments about the property. Check in time - 3pm arrival time is really generous and you are able to check in earlier or request a later check out - which you chose not to do - you never contacted us throughout your stay and you can see from all our other reviews how responsive and accommodating we are to guest requests! The flies - as advised to you during your holiday this is a problem affecting miles of the East Coast due to agricultural activity - we are NOT allowed to buy fly spray for you as it is a toxin - but we did offer to reimburse you for any spray / paper you purchased. Im sorry but we cannot be held accountable for the flies as this is a natural process. The cleaning issues - we state really clearly we will come and fix / clean any issues - we have a local cleaner who would have come out within 10 minutes of you contacting us which YOU chose not to do. We must change you about the plinth - the cupboards had been fixed prior to your arrival and if you knocked the plinth a cm or two then this will happen and a simple move of this by 1cm would have fixed this. Overall we are sad you gave us 3.5* and as you can see from hundreds of positive reviews because you chose to not contact us about the issues and blamed us for flies which are beyond our control there is little we can do to help - we pride ourselves on putting things right if they are wrong and this was your choice to not allow us to do this. We wish you safe travels and look forward to hosting you again soon!

Great cottage, great location for a quiet getaway adjacent to a sandy beach near to Filey. The holiday park was very family orientated with good facilities and for venturing further afield Scarbourough approx 30mins and Whitby approx an hour drive away. The cottage was very modern, clean and with all the amenities for self-catering we required including free WiFi.
Special mention to Anthony at Anchor Bay Holidays who provided thorough communication in the run up to the stay.
Overall highly recommend and would definitely not hesitate to book again.

The New England cottage was clean warm and had everything you needed for your stay and it is so nice to be able to take are dogs so they can enjoy been away from home and not left behind it was also nice to take the dogs to the pub so welcoming and the staff very friendly all the staff we met cleaning staff all friendly.so we will be back have been looking for an other holiday all ready.

Upon arrival we were very impressed, a welcome pack, thank you...internal space and the amount of home from home items...they have thought of everything....location to amenities and the beach access. Would certainly book again.

Our family had a really lovely stay at New England Cottage. It is so spacious that there was room for the youngsters not to be on top of the oldies all of the time. It was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfy, and the bedding and towels were soft and lovely. The only thing that would have improved the property was having a larger fridge/freezer. We just about managed with only being there for 4 nights but for the size of property and number of people staying it was a bit tight.

This was our first time at The Bay and it didn’t disappoint. It helped that the weather was fantastic, but the cottage and the site are wonderful. New England Cottage is really well equipped, bedrooms are very light and airy, plenty of cupboard space. Having a ground floor bedroom and toilet was really useful for family members who struggle with stairs. It’s a shame that the log burner had been removed although the cottage is very well insulated and warm. The stone base for the burner is still in place and you need to take care not to stub your toe on it. There is a small patio outside with table and seating - the position of the house means that the sun doesn’t reach the patio which is a shame but given the heat this week, it was actually a relief. The seats are just slightly too large for the space meaning that one of the patio doors can’t be opened fully.

The distance to the pub, shop and swimming pool is a short walk but be aware that the walk to the beach is considerably further, especially if you have any mobility issues. Having access to the pool was a real bonus. The site is very dog friendly which is lovely but occasionally the noise from yapping neighbours can be a nuisance, especially if you’re not a dog owner.

The Bay is a great location with easy access to Filey, Brid, Scarborough and local Wolds villages. Anchor Bay Holidays were very efficient with all the information sent through and were really quick at responding to issues. Would we go again? Definitely!

Overall I was happy with my stay, however floor boards dusty, lots of flys in house and grass hadn’t been cut was way too long to enjoy sitting outside! Lucky we had no kids as was weeds etc, but this did let down the outside area big time! Lastly bedroom tvs didn’t work which was a shame! But overall lovely place to stay, decor was nice and beach theme, Wi-Fi worked, plenty of toilets! Great for a family stay.

Hi Lauren Thanks for your review - glad you liked the property. We wish you had told us about the TVs as this is an easy re-tune fix which we would have done for you. The grass outside is being cut by the management company and apologies this was long during your stay which was due to a faulty mower. The flies are outside of our control - being a semi rural location all the properties and towns on the East Coast do get these and we would have provided a solution if you had let us know. We always feel at home when we stay here....and thats what you need. Spotless, and just the best place to be. Great for small and large families alike......Beach days and quiet nights.......so much to offer, and great local facilities as well as those on site.

We have stayed at The Bay several times as the location is perfect for us with easy access to the beach. We were very happy with the accommodation, it was lovely and clean and had everything we needed and would certainly be happy to book it again.

Our 2nd visit to this property and once again it was very enjoyable. Comfortable, spacious clean accommodation just right for our party of 4 adults and two children. The only downside was that the swimming pool was quite cold and the kiddies pool was out of action for the period of our visit.

We had a fantastic stay at the New England Cottage at The Bay, Filey.
Booked through Anchor Bay Holidays, they were very informative and helpful and quick to reply to any queries.
The cottage was big enough for our party of 7.
The kitchen facilities where great, lots of crockery, cups, glasses and cutlery.
Small outdoor garden, with BBQ (which we didn't use, as it had water and cigarette stubs from previous people).
Facilities on the site were great.
Swimming pool, gym, shop, arcade and pub & restaurant.
Short walk to the beach.
Would highly recommend and definitely return again soon.
