This is our second stay at this cottage and again it was spotlessly clean and welcoming. It is in an excellent location for the beach and local amenities.
The cottage is very well appointed with everything that you would need for your stay.
The owners responded very quickly to emails regarding our stay and we much appreciated the kind welcome pack.
We would certainly recommend Captain Jacks and hope to return again in the future.

Our stay was to celebrate a special birthday earlier in the year and it couldn't have been more perfect.
When we entered we immediately felt at home , it is so cosy , clean and warm , the decor is beautiful , every thought has been given to creating a comfortable home from home.
The kitchen is very well equipped , even has an air fryer , the crockery and mugs are lovely . There was a lovely goody bag , complete with prosecco and Tunnocks teacakes - what a treat .
The bathroom looked newly installed , so clean, as were the towels , the shower was brilliant, plenty of hot water and spacious.
Beds and pillows were as comfortable as any we've slept on anywhere, the bedding was fresh and very clean.
Location is fantastic , the village is beautiful and the Craster Arms is superb , food and staff excellent , close enough to stumble back from.

Received an email prior to arrival to state the accommodation would be available early, therefore giving us a great start to our break. Arrived to find Captain Jack’s spotlessly clean with a lovely welcome pack. We had come prepared with sauces etc but none were needed as all supplied. Loved the airy rooms, with the shower a particular standout. Location is perfect for walks around the village. This was our first visit to Northumberland and Beadnell is fantastic. Great for walks and a few choices to grab a coffee and cake. We have already booked for next year and expect this will become a regular haunt. The only slight negative which has been mentioned previously is the parking is tight ( cannot be helped due to the layout.)

We couldn’t fault Captain Jacks. Very comfortable and everything was fresh and tasteful. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful. What we didn’t realise was what a great place Beadnell was. Great choice of eating venues, village shop, quick walk to the beach. Short drive to lots of other places of interest. We’ll certainly be wanting to visit again. Thank you

another great stay, the welcome pack is great and most welcome!! great to sit outside as well in a lovely community of other people staying in neighbouring property. quiet area.
parking available is tight but manageable
I personally would like larger TV as have poor vision from the sofa ,,, could not read the TV guide on the smart Tv menu, so I had to get up... I know just like before we have remote control.

Captain Jacks is a well equipped, well maintained holiday let in a lovely location. Clean and tastefully decorated, the house is close to multiple places to eat and drink easily reached on foot. Close to the beach and Seahouses/Bamburgh for sightseeing and groceries. Good basics for cleaning and cooking were provided including a generous welcome pack. Would definitely recommend.

This is a gorgeous cottage, and immaculate.
Everything has been thought of and the equipment provided is of a good quality.
I always take certain things of my own, heavy frying pan, sharp knife, salt and pepper, sauce, loo roll and kitchen roll. I didn't need any of them. They also left us a very nice starter pack.
Lovely cotton bedding. Beautiful shower room. Own parking spot.

Beautifully furnished, very comfortable place in a very convenient spot for getting to the Farne Islands, Holy Island and Alnwick . A lovely welcome pack and bottle of wine was much appreciated . Information booklets of all the equipment but a bit more information about the surrounding area , such as possible walks , places to eat, would have been nice. We also didn’t know about rubbish or recycling so everything went in the bin. A bigger issue was the parking which was very tight.

We're sorry to see that we have managed only 4 out of 5 for some scores, and would like to politely disagree.
For cleanliness, we do the cleaning ourselves, and no surface is left unattended to. We could not put more effort into this, and many of the other reviews specifically mention how immaculate Captain Jack's is, so we do differ with you on this score.
For service, you sent us an email asking for arrival details, and we replied within 8 minutes with those details, so we think that our service is as good as it could be. We are always available on both email and mobile phone, and those contact details are further displayed inside Captain Jack's.
With regard to the couch, as it is brand new there is the new furniture smell which arises as a result. This will soon fade away completely, but we would respectively disagree, in finding it faint, rather than strong. It does lead into another score, being 4 out of 5 for comfort. These new couches are but the latest effort to make Captain Jack's as comfortable as can be, as the quest for perfection continues! We would tie this in with condition as well. Jack and Sarah.

We had a great week away at Captain Jack’s. A great location to explore both locally and further afield. Ideally placed near some great eateries. The cottage is spotlessly clean with all you need, which includes the smaller things like supply of dish washing materials and supply of toilet rolls, also a lovely welcome pack to get you started. Also noted plenty to accommodate children (although we did not need these). Great WiFi. Should also mention great communication with the owner responding very quickly at all stages. All in all a lovely cottage, set in a lovely small quiet village. Would highly recommend and would return in the future. Thanks to Captain Jacks.

What a lovely cottage!
My partner Kay and I had a fantastic stay. Great communication with the owners, lovely welcome pack on arrival. Lovely pub and a lovely cafe/restaurant almost right on our doorstep.
Cottage has everything you need and is in beautiful condition.
Minutes walking to the beach for long strolls and very easy to drive to Seahouses, Bamburgh and Amble etc.

This was definitely one of the cleanest, freshly decorated places we have stayed in. Spotlessly clean, lots of extra touches - toiletries, tissues etc. A very generous welcome pack - thank you. Convenient for the Craster Arms and would recommend The Courtyard nearby. We have been to this area many times and love everything about it - so friendly and the most amazing beaches. Captain Jack's is exceptional. Spotlessly clean, with a very well equipped kitchen and good quality equipment. The bathroom was superb. There were even buckets, spades, fishing nets, picnic blanket and windbreaks supplied. Plus a very useful book on country and coastal walks. It felt like home from home with all the thought that was put into making our stay so enjoyable.

We woke on Thursday to no power, rang Jack & Sarah (the hosts) who found out Beadnell had a power cut they also rang later to make sure power was back on.

We arrived to a very clean, comfortable cottage. Little touches make you feel like someone cares abut your holiday experience. The little welcome pack was gratefully received and meant we could have a cuppa on arrival, our shopper bag went everywhere with us and my daughters enjoyed the sweets and biscuits. The village shop is within walking distance and has essentials, the chip van on the green by the shop is open thurs-sun and well worth using, as lovely food, but there is normally a queue so plan ahead!
The nearest beach to the property is within easy walking distance and is sandy with rockpool areas. Beadnell Bay 'main' beach is walkable but if you have beach gear then you will need to drive as a bit of a trek. This bay has slightly calmer waters and is also sandy but no real rockpool areas. The watersports hire centre is based at this location. We used both beaches, one for snorkelling, swimming and rock pooling and the other for paddle boarding and swimming.
The cottage has plenty of room for four, well equipped, comfortable beds and a great shower! If i was being supercritical, there could be a bit more drawer storage, especially in the twin room, also we struggled a bit to get things dry as the weather wasn't warm so a washer/drier would have been a plus but these are very minor and certainly shouldn't put anyone off booking a stay.
Captain Jack's was a super holiday cottage and i would highly recommend a stay there.

Well specced holiday home, open plan kitchen,dining room and lounge. Exceptionally well maintained with 2 bedrooms and fabulous bathroom upstairs. Lovely location with couple of cafes and the Craster Arms less than 5 minutes walk away. Great base for visiting the Northumberland coast. Nice touch from the owners was a welcome pack including fizzy and a voucher for local cafe. Sarah and Jack(the owners) couldn't have been more helpful when we booked. Really can't fault this place and would unhesitatingly recommend for a break away.

Absolutely beautiful cottage kept in immaculate condition throughout and beautiful layout. Loved how cosy and comfortable it was but at the same time very contemporary and spacious.
Excellent location walking distance to two cafes and a pub and the beach.
Ideally located for main attractions in that part of the country I.e. Bamburgh, Lindesfarne, Alnwick etc.
Lovely goody bag left for us which was most welcome and we will use the bags.
We will definitely recommend to family and friends with a hope to return to this gorgeous property soon.

We really enjoyed our getaway to Captain Jack's on the Northumberland coast. Having never explored the area much before, my husband and I decided to try somewhere new and book a short stay. We were thrilled to see that the town of Beadnell is very close to the beautiful towns of Alnwick, Bamburgh, and within a short drive to Hadrian's Wall, Alnwick Garden, and a range of other historical sites like Lindisfarne Island.
The house itself is a beautiful, cosy property within a five minute walk of the beach and even shorter walk of a few lovely pubs and cafes. We loved our stay and will certainly be back!

My stay at Captain Jack's was charming. The property was very well catered, with a lovely welcome pack containing useful essentials, a beautiful bottle of bubbly, and some local biscuits, which we enjoyed while cosying near the fire. Also, as a nice plus, I got a cute tote bag that will be useful for carrying shopping and other bits and bobs.
While our stay was in the middle of winter, I can confirm that I will return to the property in the summer to take advantage of the seaside. The property was also impeccably clean, and the beds were so comfortable. I had a very comfortable sleep. I enjoyed staying at this property and in the little town of Beadnell. The Craster Arms was a lovely pub with amazing staff and delicious food. The prices were quite fair, and we enjoyed the atmosphere.
Overall, my stay was very comfortable, and I now have found my new favourite seaside property! Definitely will be returning :)
