We booked to stay at Victory Cottage in Hawkshead via Tarn & Fell Escapes. The booking process was easy and email confirmations were received promptly, the cottage was as described and the photos were a good depiction of the cottage. It was as close as you could get to the centre of Hawkshead and the parking space was a real bonus. If you want to walk locally or use public transport then you could park up and leave your car there. A week before we arrived we got a call to check we didn’t need anything else for our booking and we got an email with details a few days before, it was all very smooth and professional. Will definitely use this company again and have recommended them to friends.

Firstly, the service we received from tarns and fells was excellent. Beth and Ross both contacted us before our visit to make sure we had all the details and to offer ongoing support if we needed it.
On arrival, The Cottage was immaculate, lovely and warm and the situation couldn't have been better - very short walk past charming pubs, shops - many artisan - and curios.
Everything we could have needed in The Cottage was there, all nice quality, sparkling clean and convenient. Cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils in first class condition. The furniture was clean and again in excellent condition. WiFi was good and easy to use. Bathroom and toilet were sparkling, bedrooms were good and beds, pillows etc very comfortable. Plenty of storage space. Cooker/ microwave/ fridge etc all pristine. Honestly, nothing to fault! A small garden, seating area to the front which was fully enclosed and even our Houdini of a pooch couldn't escape - not that he wanted to - he was too comfortable laying on the heated floor!
We spent 4 nights staying in this lovely cottage and would say, don't hesitate! Book this lovely cottage, enjoy Hawkshead -it's a lovely place to stroll round, enjoy the local quirky shops in what looks like a TV set picture postcard location and enjoy all the things to do nearby -Tarn How, the forest, the Windermere car ferry and Lake cruises, the local towns of Ambleside, the well deserved pub lunches and all there is to do there.
Top marks for Tarn and Fell for finding this treasure, to the owners of The Cottage for their high standards and to the cleaners etc who made our stay so enjoyable

The cottage was lovely, nice and clean and well presented. There was everything in it we needed. The village itself was , in our opinion, the nicest in the whole area. The pubs were nice and the food was delicious.

Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped to cook a meal.
Great location, 2 mins walk to the village and peaceful. Handy to have parking by the cottage, we parked right outside the gate to unload then moved the car further up the lane to the allocated space which you can see from the cottage.
Lots of walks from the cottage.
Ross was very responsive when we raised a query.

Would definitely stay here again when we visit the lakes. Thank you.

Lovely cozy cottage in the perfect location for our weekend break in the Lakes. Plenty of walks/hikes to start from the cottage, and a couple of great pubs in Hawkshead to enjoy a well deserved drink afterwards!

This was our second stay at the cottage but the first time we had booked through Tarn & Fell Escapes Ltd. The booking process was simple and communication was fabulous from booking to arrival - we even had a call to say we could go to the property early. The cottage itself is in the perfect location within walking distance of the village and has its own parking space. It is a very good size and has everything you need for your stay, including a sparkly new washing machine (it had taken me forever to figure out the one that had been there last year!). There was a lovely surprise welcome set of jam, lemon curd and chutney from a local shop when we arrived along with milk in the fridge and well stocked tea, coffee and sugar pots which was very welcome as it meant we could have a cuppa before our shopping delivery arrived, so thank you! The cottage is spacious, clean and comfortable and we have already booked again for next year!

What a great cottage so warm and cosy, the underfloor heating is great, stayed end of Jan and had to turn heating down it was such a warm cottage. Great location, garden enclosed so perfect for the dogs. Would definitely recommend and we will stay again. Great communication from Tarn and Fell.

A cozy cottage in a perfect location benefitting

The cottage itself is located in the centre of Hawkshead; only a short stroll to the amenities. It was nice and clean when we got there & there was a welcome gift waiting for us - yum!
The cottage is well equipped, everything you would want for a short break, including kitchen foil for sarnies!
The stove in the living room is lovely, but only just enough room to sit 5 of us comfortably on the sofas. The sofas are a bit worn, but still ok for the price of the property.

Underfloor heating was very welcome!

Wonderful few days stay at Victory Cottage in Hawkshead for our family of 5. Everything you need including little touches such as milk and lovely gift of jams. Great location and a parking space which is invaluable. Lucky to have beautiful weather so possibly bigger table and chairs in garden would be the icing on the cake. Look forward to staying again.
