Really enjoyed our family staycation over Easter. Hosts were fantastic, place was immaculate and views breathtaking. Highly recommend
Lovely cottage and beautifully decorated with everything you need. Great location with easy access to shops, restaurants and the lake. The team at Tarn and Fell were also extremely helpful with great customer service. Would definitely recommend property and company.
We have had a great week at the bank house. Great location, house was very comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches and lovely artwork. Beds were very comfortable. Helped by fantastic weather. The village was fairly quiet , which was also lovely. Had a day up on the lakes as well as lots of local walks. We’ll definitely be back again ( for our 3rd visit ! )
Our first time staying in this apartment, having previously stayed on Lake View Loft. A lovely, luxurious feeling apartment with plenty of room. We had a very comfortable stay in this first class accommodation, lots of little details which were really appreciated, from the complimentary tea and coffee and toiletries to the well equipped kitchen. This is a perfect place to stay in Bowness. Thank you to Claire and Ross for another fantastic break.
Such a perfect gem, located in a superb location. Not one complaint regarding this accommodation, spotlessly clean, homely and had everything you would need for a great few days away. Will definitely be returning in the near future.
Great property in Ambleside with parking space and short walk to centre of town. Well equipped, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Tarn and Fell escapes were great to deal with even calling to say I could check in earlier because the previous guests had checked out early. Would love to stay here again
We fell in love with this house as soon as we arrived! The wood fired hot tub with beautiful view, the gorgeous decor, the quiet peaceful location - all perfect! The woodland footpath (with red squirrels) next to the house led to the local pub and Chester’s by the river cafe. There were 8 of us and 2 dogs and we felt like we had lots of space. We had BBQs and evening drinks on the terrace by the fire pit. We walked up Silver Howe and others and kayaked and swam in Coniston Water. Loads of local pubs with great food including Drunken Duck. Would 100% recommend ☺️ ☀️ thank you
This is the 4th (?) time we have stayed in Corner House and we love it more every time! Situated in the centre of the village, handy for all the cafes, pubs and shops, with beautiful walks from the door. The cottage has everything you need: A well equipped kitchen; comfy lounge; big bathroom with roll top bath; drying room and downstairs utility room with loo. We have already booked for next year and will keep coming back as long as we are physically able!!
We had a wonderful stay at Wordsworth Lodge, the lodge is full of character, clean and very spacious. It had everything you needed to make your stay enjoyable apart from shampoo, conditioner and shower gel as you need to bring your own. We loved the fact we were positioned right in the middle of the little quaint shops, the co-op, bars restaurants and cafes. It was a very beautiful peaceful village with everyone being so friendly, we would definitely recommend and stay again… Thank you Tarn and Fell
We stayed here for a week to celebrate my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. The house is gorgeous - lovely bedrooms and fantastic living space for everyone to gather. Spotless and perfectly equipped. Everyone from age 6 to 80 was very happy!
Returning visitor who has been here previously. Wonderful time, well catered for and stunning property as ever. Big shout out to Ross for timely communication regarding the booking, and a very pleasant booking experience
Beautiful location, wonderful welcoming hosts, perfect accommodation for our three day self catering break, booking service excellent, all was smooth and hassle free.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Pottery Gate. The house was super clean, very comfortable, and a great place to come home too after a long day walking. The bathroom was a huge hit with my children, watching tv while having a bath was a great surprise! It was very handy having the laundry facilities too, a great addition to the house. I’d also add that we are not pet people and I was a little worried about smells, but there was none at all. It was very clean and smelt wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone looking for a little base in the Lakes.
This cottage is the most beautiful it has ever been. It exudes charm, is cosy, welcoming and very thoughtfully furnished and fitted. The new slate floor in the living room is a masterpiece of design getting rid of the sloping floor that was there since it was originally occupied. The kitchen is fabulously fitted and the new slate floor sits well in there. The bathroom feels like it is taken directly from a five star hotel. The back bedroom is so peaceful and calm, set in the woods. Up the spiral stairs to the main bedroom is another peaceful haven, spacious, light and warm. I love the new heat...more
Comfortable house in a great location, close to all amenities in the village (pub, supermarket, tea room, restaurant, pharmacy etc.). The bedrooms were spacious and bedding was comfortable. The front garden was pleasant and walking trails are very accessible directly from the house. Highly recommended.
Lovely Cottage in peaceful surroundings, would definitely recommend to our friends & family, hopefully to return again soon.
Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped to cook a meal. Great location, 2 mins walk to the village and peaceful. Handy to have parking by the cottage, we parked right outside the gate to unload then moved the car further up the lane to the allocated space which you can see from the cottage. Lots of walks from the cottage. Ross was very responsive when we raised a query. Would definitely stay here again when we visit the lakes. Thank you.
The Apartment was lovely...Very clean tidy & well set out with comfortable furniture & bed. We felt the Location was also good for getting around villages in South Lakes. We will return in the future, as we liked it a lot !
It is a lovely property, clean and comfortable and so, so, quiet. We thought we were onto a winner when the property is advertised as disabled friendly or “for those who are less able or use a wheelchair”. Yes, it has two full wet rooms and is fairly spacious inside. But the problem is, if you’re a full-time wheelchair user like me, you can’t actually get inside. In recent years, the owners have built a porch on the side of the property which means that once the front door is open there is an immediate 90° tight turn right to get inside. This corner is nigh on impossible for a wheelchair use...more
lovely house nicley decorated very comfortable beds. Good wifi and great garden for dogs and loved the hot tube. Very quiet location very small village nice walks from the door.
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider coming back one day. Only negative feedback is below: - The milk left was rancid when we went to have it. It was well in date, but I wonder if it had been left out in the sun or something. It might be worth considering this for future guests in case a similar thing happens. - Note that the travel cot was not left where indicated on your email. We arrived very late and had to search the rest of the house to find it. - Also note that your email said the travel cot didn't have bedding but didn't mention about not having a mattress....more
Stayed at Firgarth Lodge as a family of 5 adults. The lodge is situated in a quiet area in the park with parking for up to 4 vehicles. The lodge was clean with plenty of comfy seating for us all, ideal with the toilet separate to the bathroom as meant we weren’t all queuing to use one room. The bedrooms were spacious enough the issue was, I felt the single beds were geared more for children to sleep on as you could feel the springs through the mattress could have done with a mattress topper on to solve the discomfort. The hot tub was lovely, 4 people was comfortable, 5 was very snug so we jus...more
Ideally placed in virtually the center of Bowness. The place seems recently renovated and has everything you need for a short self catering break. Private parking was fine, no problem getting my VW Touran in the parking space. Easy walking access to all the shops, restaurants and pubs. We would stay here again if visiting the Lakes
Excellent accommodation in lovely grounds, very comfortable, everything we needed was available. We all agreed it would have been better if we could have been able to get into the accommodation at 3pm and check out at 11pm. Transport needed because up quite a steep drive.
We visited Low Longmire Cottage this time last year and loved it so much we decided to return again this year. Absolute perfect location for peace, quiet and fantastic scenery. Fabulous walks close by. Visited the south lakes and Drigg beach which as great for the dog. 2 pubs within walking distance. Both served excellent food but The Manor House was our favourite. Best to book though. The cottage was perfect for a couple with one dog. Lovely garden although as stated not pet secure with lots of tempting bunny rabbits bouncing around Would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone who e...more
We had a great time at dizzy ducks. Few things need repair extract fan being the main one but overall it’s a great place to stay. We’ll be back.
The property was cosy and in a good position. Although the kitchen appliances and bathroom were very good the rest of the decor was dated. The property was not as clean as I would have expected. The roof of the next door property was being renovated and so there was noise and dust. Because of the location of the property parking was very tricky and we kept having to ask the workmen to move. Perhaps this should have been made explicit on booking.
