From the moment we booked, the service from Tarn & Fell Escapes was exceptional. Personal, responsive, and genuinely helpful - from thoughtful recommendations to quick answers to any questions, the customer service really stood out and set the tone for what turned out to be an incredible stay. As for the property itself… we were honestly speechless on arrival. Carr Crag Cottage is simply stunning. Beautifully designed and styled throughout, with a real sense of quality and care in every detail. The open-plan kitchen and living space was perfect for spending time together and we especially l...more
Perfect bolt hole for a hiking weekend. The apartment had everything we needed, plus an ideal location in Ambleside.
Great stay at Dizzy Ducks, lovely lodge on a well maintained site within easy reach of the villages in the South Lakes. The lodge was spotless and extremely well equipped. There is an entertainment centre and a pool in site which appeared to be very popular. Ross at the Tarn & Fell Escapes was very helpful and i would recommend the company and a stay at the lodge
We had a magnificent stay at edge mare celebrating a 70th birthday. We were a family of 4 adults and a 10 month Old baby. The apartment is so brilliantly furnished for a young baby and the words going “above and beyond” really ring true. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. From the free parking, to sky sports to a magical Christmas tree to baby bowels/ spoons to a gorgeous fire to high quality furnishings, edge mare really has it all. Thank you to Ross and the team for being so accommodating and making a special Birthday even better. We hope to be back in the future . Olive...more
We had a wonderful three night stay in this beautifully presented second floor apartment. It had everything you might need for an enjoyable stay in the Lake District. There is full length bay window which makes full use of the stunning views of the lake and surrounding fells. The apartment has car parking and is ideally situated in the centre of Bowness just a five minute walk down to the lakeside with pubs, restaurants, shops, lake cruises, boat hire and a full range of other amenities. We would gladly stay here again and would certainly recommend it to our friends and family. This is our...more
Heather Mere cottage is an absolute gem. It felt like being in a high end hotel with the addition of having your own home within it. Ross and the team were very helpful and approachable. The provision of milk, tea, coffee etc made life very easy on arrival and there were little treats which were a lovely surprise, as was the provision of dog bowls etc for our little pooch. The toiletries in the bathroom were excellent. It is a short 5 minute walk down into Bowness and its water front which is stunning and provides lots of great eateries for anything from breakfast to dinner. You should try ...more
Oakland West was the perfect place for our family holiday we can't recommend it highly enough! Spacious and comfortable to accommodate us all with beautiful outdoor space and views.
Excellent cottage in a very central position in Hawkshead. Easy to find with walks on the doorstep. Very comfortable beds and plenty of space to relax in. It was raining so the outdoor seating was unused but would be very useful in good weather
This house is really well appointed with everything that we could have wished for for my wife who recently broke her hip. It is situated in a very beautiful rural spot in the South Lakes and the owner was extremely helpful and even arranged some nice weather for the whole week!
Loved how close to the lake it was. It’s one of the cleanest we have stayed in, attention to detail and everything we needed was provided. Communication before our stay was excellent, check in was easy, Ross kindly called to say we could check in early. Great location for someone who wants a quiet relaxing time away and easy access to the lake .We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Potter’s Wheel and will definitely return . .
Lovely property in an excellent location, nice comfy beds well equipped property steps at front could do with hand rail and rear entrance could do with a little tlc, overall had a very nice stay. Tarn and Fell made the booking process very easy and were very helpful when I contacted them with a query
we enjoyed our stay at garden cottage communication before the holiday was superb owners greeted us warmly when we arrived ..the welcome pack was second to none and they even had treats for our dog the position of the cottage was lovely the garden very pretty the negative for us were the steps ..i know they were mentioned in the details of the cottage but we did find them tricky especially when unloading /loading the car plus after the steps it’s still a little trek to the cottage entrance ..we had good weather if it had been raining it would have been horrid
Lovely small cottage in great location. Immaculately clean and well equipped kitchen. Tight driveway / down a narrow back road but this was communicated by the host in advance. Only negative was that we found the mattress uncomfortable.
We had a fabulous weeks stay in Mill Cottage, based in Ings. We had never stayed here before, but we will definitely return. It is placed in a friendly village, next to a peaceful private caravan site. The lambs and sheep make more noise than the park, so it’s not a problem, and being able to have nature on our doorstep was a bonus. We were able to relax and enjoy the area and we found Ings to be perfectly situated to explore the whole area. Information and communication from Tarn and Fell escapes was excellent, they even called the week before, to ensure we had a smooth check in, which was...more
Rose Barn was a lovely place to stay for our short break in the Lakes. It was perfectly located, just north of the village of Hawkshead and within close distance of Grizedale forest. Ross was extremely pro active with regular emails to confirm our booking and he rang us a few days before the trip to check we had all we needed. The accommodation was exactly as we expected it, very clean and extremely welcoming. Ross also recommended local places for us to eat and visit. I would highly recommend Rose Barn for a family or small group visit and would most certainly stay there again.
This was our 3rd time at Whitecross bay (although the first time using Tarn & Fell), and this was the best lodge yet! The location was really quiet, and relatively private for a park like this. The lodge was really well equipped with everything you need, and felt very comfortable - like a home from home. My only suggestion would be to consider screening behind the hot tub for a bit more privacy although the area was so quiet it wasn't much of an issue.
The directions to Brathay Fell were clear and it was easy to find. The instructions to collect the keys were straightforward and the process was seamless. We did, however, struggle for about ten minutes to unlock the apartment door but once in we got settled quite quickly. The apartment is beautifully decorated with a spacious open plan living and kitchen area. The home had everything that we needed and we enjoyed our stay for the week. There is a gate at the back of the garden that gives access to the hiking trail behind the house to get spectacular views over the area.
