The cottage was booked to celebrate a special family birthday. We found the cottage extremely clean, spacious and comfortable with lots of character and in a great location. I can thoroughly recommend booking with Tarn & Fell Escapes, as they were very courteous and helpful from start to finish, even going above and beyond to drop off items which were left at the cottage by mistake, at the end of our visit.

This accommodation was fantastic. Pristine clean with every facility and equipment you could possibly need! A hidden gem. We loved the communal space alongside the privacy and convenience of separate rooms - all with en-suite. A superb place, location and weekend!

This is a great place to stay. Everything was just right and when we liked...
Location near the lakes, quiet village with loads of amenities eg Coop round the corner.
Kitchen was very well appointed, sharp knives, loads of cutlery and crockery, everything we needed and more (eg nut crackers and in ear thermometer)
Loved that every room had en suite and was so clean and tidy. Well done team.

Three things I'd suggest.
1. Many times tripped over the step in the kitchen. Needs a line painting on it or something.
2. Several times we banged our heads coming down the stairs from the two rooms (near the door next to the fireplace) this needs a soft cover or something.
3. The instructions in the book were great except the bins part isn't very clear. Need to add that the locks can stay on on for Tuesday bin day. Also I would move the locks away from the hinge (drill new holes) as we found lots of stuff (incl dog poo bags) in the bin even though it was locked, since the bin can be opened a little even though its locked. Also its not very clear what to do with the bin on bin day. Its next to the parking spaces and with two cars it means that a car is next to the bin.
