Thank you for taking time to leave us a review. All of our Welcome information from check-in to pool timetable and wifi passwords is sent out to guests electronically in advance of an upcoming stay. We usually hear from people if they have not received their welcome information pack? From time to time things are missed by our housekeeping team and of course the vacuum cleaner should have been clean empty and ready for guest use. Likewise we do have very hard water here and the kettles are generally descaled during changeover. My appologies. We do ask guests to email us as soon as possible if things are not quite right when they arrive or during a stay. Unlike many self catering properties we do have an inhouse team on hand to deal with issues once they become aware of them. We are in a rural location and we are surrounded by farmland our land is being farmed for the benefit of nature. During harvest their can be more flies, and due to the hot damp weather there do seem to be more around this year! We provide eco friendly fly papers and if guests require it fly spray which is not ideal. The best thing to do is to use the eco friendly anti bac spray to wipe down areas and cover all food or sticky spillages which attract the flies. We are looking into finding an environmentally insect deterrent which is far preferable to fly spray! Unfotunately flies are unavoidable in the countryside at certain times of the year and they are a part of the eco system. We can only help our guests to try to manage them where they can.

We had a wonderful time staying in the Owl's Roost. It had plenty of room for two families to spend time together. Our little ones (2 year olds) had the best time running around the cottage, the field, in and out of the wendy houses, in the pool. The little touches such as plates, bowls, cups etc. for the little ones were very much appreciated and took the stress out of the weekend. The playroom (for adults and children) is such a bonus too. We enjoy swimming in the pool and whilst having a defined slot is a little annoying, it is also brilliant to have the pool to yourself! Just make sure you take note of the (obvious - yet we didn't take in) signs saying to turn up in the first 20 mins. We had two disappointed little ones when we decided to just go for the final half hour and couldn't get in. Would definitely return and have recommended to friends already.

Ideal environment for family holiday. Very safe for children who had lots of space to play in. Lots to do locally.

Comments:
1. Gas cooker in Owl was inefficient and certainly not eco friendly. Gas rings blew back. Cooker in wagtail was slightly better.
2. Welcome pack was a bit poor compared to others we have experienced. Cake was delicious but there wasn’t enough tea and milk.
3. Encouraged to recycle but perhaps you need 2 recycling bins as the 1 was constantly full
4. Parking was adequate but not ideal over the road with young children
5. We didn’t realise the swimming was restricted when we booked.
6. Welcome folder needs updating. Some information was contradictory. Eg were dogs welcome or not..

Dear John Thank you for taking the time to review our property we take pride in our customer service and housekeeping standards. We take our guest feedback very seriously and we do ask that you report any problems during your stay to allow us to put things right. We do have LPG gas cookers which are less powerful than town gas in our rual location unfortunately we are not on mains gas here. The cookers have just had their annual gas safety check, I will have the gas nozzles checked for debris. We provide tea coffee and a pint of milk for your arrival refreshement. We have one recycling bin to allow us to manage waste. We find that with 2 bins the the bins were becoming contaminated with household rubbish, unfortuately with a busy infux of guests over the 2 half term weeks meant that by the end of week 2 the bin was indeed full. The bins are emptied on a Thursday with dry clean recycling picked up every other week during the winter months. Parking is indicated on our site map and on our website. I am sorry if you found the pool times restricted. Our pool is available between 7.00am to 7.00pm on Saturday and Sunday. During the week it opens at 7.00am is closed over lunchtimes between 12.00 - 3.00pm and closes at 7.00pm in the evenings. This is clearly outlined on our website and in our Terms & Conditions of use. We do clearly state on our website and in our Terms & Conditions that we only accept dogs in End Cottage and dogs are not allowed anywhere on the main site, I am sorry if you had not realised when you made your group booking. Thank you for making your holiday booking with us.

We’ll be back!

This was the second time we’ve been to Cranmer. This time we took friends to stay in the adjoining cottage to owl. We weren’t disappointed.
The cottages are beautifully clean and appointed with everything you need and super child friendly.

I stayed with my family for my 70th birthday celebrations! We all agreed that we would return if opportunity arose. We liked the layout and feeling of space. We had some problems - no seal on the shower screen in Wagtail (which never was mended and resulted in a flood on the floor before we realised, which we had to clear up), broken dishwasher in Owl (replaced next day), leak in roof in Owl after heavy rain, but Zoe was excellent at dealing with them as quickly as possible. The pool and play area were both excellent and much needed as it rained 6 days out of 7! In better weather the secure field with swings etc. would have been brilliant for our toddler granddaughter.
Generally we had a good time, well equipped cottages. Our only real criticism was that for luxury cottages some of it looked a little tired in places. We took advantage of the meal service provided by Zoe and the food was truly excellent.

Thank you for taking time to review your stay with us in 4 star Owls Roost. It is good to know that you enjoyed your stay with us despite the awful driving rain. Our luxury indoor pool and games room were very popular that week. We have a rolling refurbishment programme for all of our properties and your feedback is appreciated. We endeavour to sort out any issues during your stay as efficiently as possible and most repairs are carried out in house unless specialist trades are required. All properties are checked prior to guest arrival.
