So I must like it! I enjoy hill walking and it is an excellent base for driving to walks in the higher fells of Eskdale and Wasdale. There are also many more walks nearby. I didn’t realise how much I liked donkeys until I met the Parkgate donkeys. The van is well equipped and comfortable, clean and well equipped. The staff were very helpful. I certainly intend to return.

We visited Parkgate Farm about 9 years ago when it was a new venture and we were not disappointed at our return visit. The new lodges and camping area blends in well. We still had the beautiful views from the caravan and of course still the donkeys wandering about. This is a beautiful quiet part of the Lake District with plenty of things to do and see if you do your homework first.
The caravan was very clean with extras that made it real “ home from home “. An ideal place if you want to get away from it all.

What a beautiful location, the views from the caravan with the swallows and donkeys in the field made for such a relaxing atmosphere. Rachel and Nick were excellent throughout, from booking to helping with the TV on arrival so i didn't miss the football! The weather was ideal for walking the Wasdale fells and its an excellent base from which to explore the western fells.

I can't recommend this place highly enough. It offers great value for money in my opinion. The views are amazing, and it's located in the heart of the Lake District, with plenty of activities within a 20-minute radius.

The place was very clean, and they allow dogs, which can sometimes be hard to find. The farm is great, with donkeys in the back field and some nice short walks. Overall, I give this little gem 5 stars.

This is normally a lovely place to visit, but unfortunately for us the weather was very wet and only one day without rain. The accomodation was lovely and clean as was the whole site, with nice information pact as well. This was or second visit as there are lovely walks to be had just of site. Met by the Warden on arrival and told anything we need just let him know, but everything was fine and no problems.Overall a nice break marred by the weather but that's not in the sites hands and we had warm accomodation to dry off in after being out.Would highly recommended this site
