just the place , if your after a peaceful site with lots of character , especially the very well behaved Donkeys we were looking for an era with great landscapes and we certainly were not let down , wish all sites were like this . well done
This campsite is a little gem It’s quite very tidy and has some of the best views. Loved our stay and we are looking forward to coming back again
The second time staying at Parkgate, it was just right, lovely views, warm, facilities brilliant, especially as I’ve got dogs to, just right couldn’t be any better, hopefully be back again soon, Thankyou.
Woke up to great views from pitch 8, a bit away from the other campers which gave us the best view! Toilets and showers were clean and looked pretty new, never had to queue for the toilet. The shop on site was great, remember to bring cash. I appreciated the extra touch of a washing line on each pitch to dry out clothes, good idea. Would definitely stay again, well located for Wast Water and other nice walks.
Only stayed here for one night in my campervan but will definitely be back. We were welcomed onto site by the wardens. They helped ensure I was hooked up with electricity, including letting me use an extension as at the hookup point was quite far from the pitch. The wardens explained the site layout to us. The toilets and showers were all clean and functioned well. There is a lovely little honesty shop on site. The campsite was really quiet and comfortable. I can’t wait to go back
This is the second year we have stayed at Parkgate Farm, and again very happy with everything. As per last year Bruce and Sandy ensured we were welcomed and had a good stay.
We had an amazing stay with Parkgate farm holidays, my toddler was too excited to roam around there.
We were looking for a base for a week because two of us did the Fjällräven Classic UK. It was perfect!
Fantastic view from the pod Very peaceful campsite Perfect for walking holidays Campsite staff are friendly& helpful We Will be going back Really enjoyed our stay
I enjoy walking in the Lake District fells, and find this is an excellent location for walking in Wasdale and Eskdale. It’s a lovely place to come back to after a day on the hills, and enjoy looking at the view and the donkeys. Bruce and Sandy were very helpful.
Perfect location for exploring the Cumbrian coast and the Western Lake District. The irt was comfortable the views in the morning were great really enjoyed out stay
Excellent site with good facilities. The kitchen n area had useful tourist information. Shower and toilets well maintained. Pleasant and helpful staff. Quite a steep drive to the site with a Motorhome! Lovely views.
We had a really enjoyable stay and were extremely impressed with the campsite. It genuinely could not have been any cleaner, tidier or better organised than we found it. In fact, it was probably one of the cleanest and most well-maintained campsites we have ever stayed on, and it is clear that a great deal of care and effort goes into keeping the site looking so good. The only downside to our stay was the level of noise. Unfortunately, despite the clear guidance and reminders regarding quiet times, a small number of fellow campers continued to make quite a lot of noise when others were tryi...more
The campsite surpassed my expectations as the lay out was much better than I have experienced in the past giving a generous amount of private space. The views and location were my favourite thing about the site though as well as how helpful and friendly the owners were. Definitely would love to return in the future.
Comfortable cottage in quiet historic village. Great views. Good base for walks and local attractions.
Great place to stay, close to beaches and the mountains. Relaxing and restful especially ❤️ the donkeys!
Well maintained campsite. In a fantastic location with lovely views of the surrounding hills. I will definitely be back!
One of the nicest sites I've stayed at in a while. Clean and tidy. Welcoming warden. Really well equipped site. Superb views over to the hills. Flat pitch.
Really enjoyed our stay at Gap Cottage. Such a cosy place and incredible location - awesome hikes right from the cottage, pub(s) and cafe within walking distance too. While initially we were worried about missing the traitors, we actually really liked that it didn't have a TV and we could unwind/detach from screens for the trip! :)
Very well equipped caravan in a beautiful site with amazing views and excellent access to local woodland and the southern fells.
Thank you Rachel and your team. Once again you provided us with the perfect place to wind down and relax. We have already booked the cottage for next year and are looking forward to another relaxing week. Thank you all again.
