Very enjoyable 4 night stay, the static caravan was very comfortable,no problems, will visit again hopefully.
We stayed here for 3 nights in our motorhome and met up with friends who were staying in one of the caravans. We tour a lot and this was one of the nicest sites we have stayed in. Pitch 2, amazing views. A cabin supplied all those little things you may have forgotten or need, such as walking poles ,firelighters batteries, even selling hand knitted hats! It is a peaceful rural location so bring plenty of food. We cycled and walked from the site. Our friends caravan was spotless, overlooked the donkeys and we watched deer in the evening. The stewards so friendly and informative. Always ready f...more
Had a fabulous couple of days at this campsite with family. Great, clean facilities and friendly hosts. Well kept grounds and lots of unspoilt areas to enjoy.
The second time staying at Parkgate, it was just right, lovely views, warm, facilities brilliant, especially as I’ve got dogs to, just right couldn’t be any better, hopefully be back again soon, Thankyou.
This is the second year we have stayed at Parkgate Farm, and again very happy with everything. As per last year Bruce and Sandy ensured we were welcomed and had a good stay.
Fantastic campsite with amazing facilities. Very welcoming and nothing was to much of a bother. The camp wardens were brilliant and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. So many great walks and lakes surrounding and plenty for the children to do. Would definitely reccomend.
Excellent stay, lovely views, clean, professional, inviting. From the moment we got there we felt relaxed and welcome. Have already recommended to several people.
Lovely location for a well-needed recharge. We particularly enjoyed the living space which is much more spacious than previous pods we’ve stayed in. Oh, and the donkeys!
Fantastic view from the pod Very peaceful campsite Perfect for walking holidays Campsite staff are friendly& helpful We Will be going back Really enjoyed our stay
Another week at Miterdale. Stunning location, comfortable beds and amazing shower! Hopefully we'll be back next year.
This year used 2 pitches and had a fantastic break with the extended family. Bruce and Sandy were fantastic and very knowledgeable on the area. The site is spotless and very well maintained.
We had a great holiday. Great location Caravan was clean and catered for all are needs. Overall a positive holiday
We arrived very last minute - ten mins from booking! But we were made to feel so welcome by Sandy and Bruce. We booked for 1 night and ended up staying 4 nights. The site was technically fully booked but they made room for us, and it was such a lovely place. It really was perfect for us - great views, nice quiet site and some privacy on our pitch. Facilities were top notch too! So handy having a freezer as not many sites do now. We even did a walk on our last day by Bruce's recommendation, and they provided parking for us too. We will be back - thank you so much
Wonderful location, beautifully maintained site, peaceful and tranquil, gorgeous log cabin, fantastic!
This is a lovely site, it’s small so it doesn’t feel crowded, our pitch was #9 so it was up a small hill, there is a gravel path so easy for driving close to the pitch. The site is lovely and dark, which sounds daft but I’ve stayed on picthes with spot lights before and I much prefer it to feel a bit more in nature. There is well lite facility block though. There is two shower rooms with toilets, and two toilets by themselves. We never had any issues and all the toilets and showers were spotless clean and well stocked with some toiletries. Sandy and Bruce and lovely and really welcoming, came...more
Our second stay in Gap cottage was equally as good as the first. It is so quiet & private & provides the perfect escape. The fact that it fills all our needs makes it perfect.
The day of travel we had a LOVELY text from Sandy and Bruce ( Site Wardens ) letting us know we can reach out to either one of them during our stay for any assistance. They even advised not to follow sat navs, if you aren't familiar with the Lake district or it's your first time ( like it was ours ) this comes in handy as you drive on the main roads and see PLENTY of signs advising not to follow the sat nav!! We could also contact Sandy and Bruce to pre-order Wood, Charcoal and S'mores packs! Life savers when it's another 30/40 minute drive to a town with shops to buy such! The site also has a...more
Really enjoyed our stay at Parkgate Farm. Bruce and Sandy were brilliant at answering any questions, and even stepping in to fix a camping table for us. They keep the site beautifully maintained, and tucked in the heart of the Cumbrian lowlands. The facilities were clean, and there was a small room with laundry and freezer to use with small purchaseable items. Every plot had its own washing line and picnic bench up, and electric hook up and water tap were right next to the plot. There were walks accessible directly from the campsite in the forest and up the nearest hill at Irton Pike. Would ...more
Parkgate Farm was lovely! Really well equipped, clean, friendly and quiet. Would definitely visit again - highly recommend.
Very well equipped caravan in a beautiful site with amazing views and excellent access to local woodland and the southern fells.
Having stayed at Harter Cottage for a number of years we have already booked the Cottage for September and June next year. We have used the Cottage to show friends from all over England the beauty of the western lakes and Cumbrian coast. An excellent place to use as a base.
