Highly recommend this wonderful cottage in the lovely peaceful village of Ravenglass. It really feels like home and gives a warm hug as you enter...its sparkling clean the kitchen is small with everything you need, the sitting room is a comfy place to collapse in after the days adventures both bedrooms are comfy and the bathroom is amazing the view alone from it wonderful and the shower is lovely. If your lucky with the weather the lovely patio overlooking the estuary is a wonderful place to sit and relax in the sun. At night it's very quiet.

Wild weather, lovely well equipped cottage with superb view

Our third stay at Miterdale (and rebooked again) - it's really that good! Last June we had hot sunny weather and gorgeous red sunsets over the bay, all with a glass of wine on the decking patio overlooking the estuary - this year, wind and thunderstorms, white horses on the bay and surf at the entrance by Eskmeal Dunes. Looking from the comfort of the cottage through the French windows, or from the patio outside, the cottage has the best coastal view we have ever had from our numerous seashore stays in England over the years. Walks around the estuary were 'bracing' but really enjoyable in the fresh sea breezes.
The cottage is really comfortable and very well equipped, with heating for cooler weather (including an amazing open fire to use, if you wish) and was pleasantly cool when we had the early heatwave in June '23. The cottage retains the charm of an older building and is also fitted with a tasteful modern kitchen and bathroom, best of both worlds Parking is right in front of the cottage (bonus!!) and pubs and restaurants are an easy walk. Ravenglass itself is quiet and, to us, a step back to calmer times - all the better for that.
Highly recommended!

Booking was easy and efficient. Cottage in an excellent position with a decking area overlooking the estuary which houses a fantastic variety of birds. Local attractions include the Esk Valley and Muncaster Castle, well worth a visit. Local garage shop provided all essentials while Gosforth bakery and supermarket proved very useful.
Cottage felt very welcoming and personal note from the family made us feel totally at home, thank you.

A great time

We enjoyed our time immensely! Thank so much for your highly personified hospitality. We were not disappointed and now look forward to returning in the near future. The cottage is an ideal base for getting out and about and when it’s cold, wet and windy, you cottage is the perfect place to relax in front of a warm and cheering fire while reading or watching DVDs.
