Dear Lucie and Guido,
My family and I have had another wonderful stay at The Gatehouse. It is so precious for us to spend time with the extended family and we feel very lucky to have found Ashton's Estate which hosts us all so well. As we keep returning we are particularly enjoying how low-intervention the natural world feels around the estate. We find it deeply relaxing that every wild animal, person and insect is left to do as suits their nature. We also really enjoyed the books and artworks from the Rothchilds personal collection which gave a homely personality to the houses. As you will have seen - as Londoners - we particularly enjoyed the new shop! We loved our archery session with Danny and it was so nice to catch up with him again. As always your care and friendliness really made each of us feel welcome and gave us all a lovely sense of freedom and relaxation around the estate. I hope you keep well and we hope to be back next year!

This was our second three generation family holiday to the Ashton estate and it was just as lovely as we remembered. We stayed in the Gatehouse which is tastefully decorated, very well equipped and very comfortable. The estate is large and peaceful and the woodland and nature walks well marked. Along the paths there are activity caravans, a fairy encampment, a DIY den and many more thoughtful things to do and see. We all picked fruit in the walled garden and the children have brought home the seeds they planted in the potting area. The Pavilion has table tennis and table football as well as a children's play area with books and games. In front of the Pavilion is a large area for ball games as well as a mini golf and again all the equipment is provided. The staff were always very pleasant and helpful.
We have already booked for next year!

Extremely well equiped. Lovely welcome package. Great facilities available to keep teenagers entertained playing pool, snooker and darts. Classic decoration. A bigger bed would have made it perfect.

Our family from the Netherlands, a group of 17 people, had the privilege of staying in two extraordinary houses on the Ashton Estate for a three-day wedding celebration. It was truly the perfect location to experience a traditional English wedding in a setting full of history and charm.
Both houses were of exceptional quality and beautifully maintained. Everywhere we looked, there were historical paintings, antique decorations, and fascinating artifacts that reflected the rich English heritage of the estate. This unique atmosphere added an extra dimension to what was already an unforgettable weekend.
We were also incredibly lucky with the weather, which made the experience even more special.
Communication with the hosts was outstanding from beginning to end. They were always responsive, thoughtful, and accommodating, and they went out of their way to meet all our wishes and answer every question we had. Their hospitality made us feel truly welcome.
Our stay exceeded all expectations. We created memories that will last a lifetime, and we very much hope to return one day. We can wholeheartedly recommend this exceptional place to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable experience.

We have just returned from the Gatehouse on the wonderful Ashton Wold Estate. We were a party of 3 adults and our dog, and the beautiful estate, woodland walks, lake and large private garden were enjoyed by all. The Gatehouse is gorgeous with good quality furnishings and beautiful art works.
We were shown 2 other properties, the Raphael and Renaissance Rooms which are magnificent and where we would love to stay in the future. All the other houses we saw on the estate look equally as good.
There are many good pubs within a short drive and the Chequered Skipper in Ashton is only a 20 minute walk away. Oundle is a 10 minute drive with a Waitrose and Co-op as well as many independent shops.
Carol, Guido and their team were very helpful both before and during our stay and very knowledgeable about the history of the estate.
We will certainly return to this hidden gem either to the Gatehouse or one of the other properties.
