We were a group of 20 for my 30th and we couldn't have picked a better place.

The facilities and location were perfect.

Mel was very helpful and we couldn't have asked for a better host.

We took all the white heron properties for a family wedding nearby and it could not have worked better. There was plenty of space for us all to get together and also space to do our own thing. We had 33 in all and were able to have wonderful meals together in the Colloquy. Mel and Jo were so helpful all along and made everything work like a dream! Cant thank you enough.

We hired this house as-well as the other houses nearby for a big family get together. We had the most amazing time, I cannot recommend this property enough, the pool is great, the hot tub and sauna were clean and heated to perfection. The house itself is just gorgeous and provides a Pugh space for everybody to wind down and catch up. We are already planning our return in 2026!

The family (17 of us) who had the Colloquy plus 2 other properties on site had a wonderful time, well looked after when any issues arose, and thoroughly enjoyed the Cassis tour, the swimming pool and the hot tub.
The only points I would make are that the table tennis table is a bit uneven and the bats could do with some repair, and there was an issue with the internet which is being resolved (and did not detract from our enjoyment of the week) - but if they are the only comments it is obvious how much we enjoyed ourselves. Not only is the accomodation exceptional, but there is always plenty to do in the locality.
This was our third visit to the Colloquy and we intend to rebook in 2026!

We were all staying for a Silver Wedding party, so booked the Colloquay and the adjoining cottages which worked well. Everyone commented on how fabulous the property and its facilities were, and we had a sit down meal for 33 there! We would definitely recommend it +++

This was our 3rd visit to the Colloquy and we have already booked for our return next year.
The accommodation and the equipment is excellent - I doubt that many groups put the catering facilities to the test as much as we do.
We have noticed improvements over the 3 years we have been attending, with sofas replaced, painting done etc.
Location is challenging for several of our party but then if it was more convenient, a house of this size would cost a fortune so this really isn't a complaint.

I’ve just spent a long weekend at the property + 2 adjoining cottages with 30 odd guests and we have all had the most fantastic weekend. The booking process and all contact with Mel have been amazing and she is so responsive. Even showed us around the property on an empty day last year. The property itself and the grounds are absolutely stunning and the space more than enough. It’s massive! The pool was especially popular by our youngest guests and that it is heated is a big plus. I think there could be some small improvements made to make this a more suitable stay for this amount of people is to add a commercial oven in the catering kitchen as well as a bigger fridge. Just so you can more easily cook more food in this kitchen. But we managed fine with using also the other main kitchen. It’s a bit of a shame that no music can be played outside even during the day time but the rules were clearly listed upon booking and in the house so this is not a complaint. Overall we had so many nice comments of what an amazing property we choose and that all the beds were so comfy. Could of easily stayed a whole week and still not get bored. Can also recommend the Cassis tour, it was fantastic and the cassis itself was to die for. Thank you again to Mel, Jo and the team for an incredible stay with memories lasting a lifetime.

My group took over the Colloquy, Gardeners and The Lodge. I don't think any other people were staying in the remaining cottage - we never saw them if so. The big house is majestic. Full of character, nooks and crannies and is huge. Bedrooms and bathrooms are massive and spacious and the pool and hot tub are a very nice touch. We had great weather during our stay, which allowed us to enjoy the surroundings very much.

However, some things weren't quite as good as they could be for my group - that's not to say it won't be perfect for yours, this is highly subjective! Although there is a large area (the discourse) that could seat all 20 of us for meals, it would have been with a strange combination of chairs and long benches, which would have required stepping over to get away from the table. We stayed mainly on the other side of the big house, with the large round table, which we managed to get 16 people around. We had the other 4 sitting nearby on other chairs. The kitchen at that end is reasonable, but on the small side for so many people, so we had to spill over some food storage and preparation into the other kitchen about 40 yards away back through several rooms. I think with an appropriate interior designer, much more could be made of the available space. There are a couple of seating areas which seem like a bit of a waste of space, but it might work well for different groups.

The place feels grand at first sight and is absolutely full of charm and very high standard, but there's a noticeable air of deterioration around the edges. One of the sofas had a hole in the seat cover, there are signs of wear and tear all around the squash court and table tennis areas and generally things are a bit worn and dated with a few holes and stains in a few places. This is nitpicking though. We'd happily return and it was still a great weekend, but like others say, it seems like it's not been as well maintained as it could have been.

We spent 4 nights here as an extended family to celebrate Grandad's 80th birthday. There were 23 of us aged from 3 - 80 and there was plenty for everyone to do on-site. So much space that we never felt on top of each other. Plenty of outdoor space too, perfect for a huge Easter egg hunt. The squash court was a particular hit and we had a very competitive multi-age tournament that lasted throughout our entire stay. Some others of us got our exercise constantly running between the 2 main kitchens! We had some issues with lack of hot water, but Mel was incredibly helpful and responsive both before and during our stay. Hope we can come back again someday.

I booked the Colloquy for a group of 15 people for a birthday retreat. We regularly arrange staycations in various locations but this was by far the best one yet. The premises were huge! Everyone stayed very comfortably and made use of all the facilities including the sauna, hot tub and squash courts.

The service was perfect as any questions or queries were responded to immediately and we had no problems at all during our stay. Nobody bothered us throughout.

The property itself has a lot of character and there was plenty of activities to keep us busy around the area. We chose to go bowling and go karting during our stay but the list of options was extensive and we could have done much more.

If I was to have any qualms I would say the BBQ was too small to do any more than a few burgers/hot dogs on. I'd recommend you bring toiletries such as toilet roll, hand wash and shampoo as these were scarce. Also lacked basic stuff in the kitchen like salt, sugar, tea/coffee etc. Apart from that the place was very well equipped and we enjoyed the welcome hamper that was provided.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone with a large party! We hope to be back soon.

Myself and 39 friends stayed in the Colloquy and surrounding houses for my 30th Birthday.

Mel and her team did everything possible to make sure that our stay was as wonderful as possible. It was amazing to find a property where we could all fit in one space and have dinner each evening over the three nights we were there.

There is so much space, with every amenity you can think of and the rooms are all beautiful. The grounds are even more stunning and it is the perfect place to hold a big celebration.

Thank you so much for having us - we can't recommend this place more!

Our family -2infants,3 young adults,4 parents and 3 grandparents -spent Chriustmas 2023 in The Colloquy. We had 6 days relaxing and enjoying each other's company. The house was so warm and welcoming when we arrived and a hamper of goodies was very appreciated. It was also great to meet Mel and get extra information
The youngsters had plenty of scope to do their own thing-squash,table tennis, sauna and hot tub, and it was good that we could all meet together round the table in the discourse for meals.Cooking facilities were great and we wanted for nothing.
Attention to detail was obvious
- we had three lovely Christmas trees spread around ,and the 2 infants thoroughly enjoyed the gifts that were left for them.
Everyone appreciated that the bedrooms were so spacious with each having its own en-suite facilities.
We had a private chef to cook Christmas Dinner-serving canapes in the clock room first-and he was most impressed with the facilities in the lower full kitchen.
Communication from booking to arrival was faultless and I would recommend White Heron Properties.without hesitation.
Wendy Eyden.

We have just had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Colloquy and would highly reccomend it. There were 18 of us, age range 35-45, celebrating a 40th birthday. There was ample space for us all to come together for meals etc. Bedrooms were large, comfortable and had lovely features. We made good use of the excellent facilities (even the heated pool at the end of Sept!). Mel was great answering any questions we had beforehand. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at The Colloquy and surrounding properties (The Forge, The Lodge, Gardeners' Cottage) for a long weekend for our university Alumni reunion. We had 38 guests whom all fit easily into the property.

There were so many excellent facilities available, including full fitted kitchens in each property, and several in Colloquy with enough space to feed all those at communal meal times - as well as barbecues for each property that were clean, efficient, and very happily used with the great weather!

Prior to the trip, the property manager got in touch several times to help coordinate the sleeping arrangements, and welcome us upon arrival with amazing information about the surrounding area, and how areas of the property function (including the beautiful Sauna/Hot Tub area).

Over the course of the weekend, we made great use of the outdoor swimming pool, open fields and gardens, nearby walks around vineyards, squash court, courtyard, large dining spaces, games room, and all the multimedia areas. There were great surprises as well including the well-tuned baby-grand piano, gift baskets with delicious snacks and drinks for our group.

At the end, we were able to keep the rubbish in a service area and saw the team of great cleaners come through, who did such an amazing job providing us with a clean stay.

The only downside whatsoever, were the wasps which did enjoy some of our food and drinks - however the fruit trees around the property definitely helped distract most of them. A small price to pay for the sunshiny weather, and great location away from any built up areas, but not too far from Leominster, allowing us to do occasional food shops, and get takeaways.

We will be back in a heartbeat for our next event, and want to thank the property so, so much for providing everything we needed for such a reasonable price.

Kitchen attached to room 5/6 inadequate. Utensils missing, no kettle, fridge freezing everything unable to control temperature.
Insufficient cuttery in other kitchens for occupancy numbers, had to search the main kitchen for items required, no other kettles available. Sport equipment especially rackets require maintenance. However despite problems above, all age groups from 14 weeks to 76 years had a thoroughly good holiday.

Beautiful property in stunning location. We hired all cottages & the colloquy for a well-being event. From booking , thru to help with rooms setups, local produce suppliers and help was at hand with property manager Mel. (Could not have more helpful). All rooms were immaculate, high quality linens and fixtures ensured all my guests slept well. The facilities and beautiful gardens were a special highlight. We enjoyed eating on the outside terrace, formal dining rooms and casual breakfasts in the large kitchen. The chefs were very happy with all the facilities.
Also my guests really enjoyed the Cassis Tour with the owner Jo.. I have already been asked what date next year are we returning!!
Can highly recommend.

This was our third stay the facilities were excellent kids loved the pool the property however has become very tired and needs renovation noticed rips is settees main kitchen you shower would not stay up the freezer leaked in kitchen by dining area
The ceiling was leaking in main dining area
Fridge was missing in kitchen above leak
The welcome basket was a pleasant surprise
Because the accommodation offered enough space for us all and was central to everyone was one of the reasons I booked again
I would hesitate to do so again my nephew was disappointed with the cottage and likened it to student accommodation
I did look and felt it was very tired looking
Considering the cost I would hesitate to recommend property in its present state but once brought up to original standard would definitely reccomend

The most sociable layout of any large house we’ve stayed in. Comfortable and homely yet grand and luxurious at the same time. Squash court and hot tub were enjoyed by the adults and the garden and football pitch loved by the children. It has two very well equipped kitchens and a marvellous large round table for group dining. The hamper on arrival was a special treat and the house manager was very welcoming. Couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful stay for a very special New Year’s weekend away. Thank you!

We had stayed a couple of times before so knew exactly what to expect.
Certain areas of the house could have been a bit cleaner and comparing it to our stays in 2017 and 2019, it doesn't seem that much money has been spent on the property since then.
The layout is great with lots of space for people to hang out in different areas as well as together.
We had a few issues during our stay that the property manager tried to resolve quickly.
I would certainly recommend it for large groups of families and/or friends.

This is a superb place to make glorious memories, the facilities are excellent. The bedrooms are luxurious and well set out, and the living areas are spacious, light and welcoming. The house is in a beautiful setting with lovely countryside just outside the door. The extra gift packs were really useful, lots of lovely local surprises in the fridges. We were able to celebrate, relax and self cater people, and being able to use the swimming pool, sauna, and hot tub was delightful. We also found the squash court great for a shared yoga session.
Participating in the cassis farm visit was a real treat, we learned a lot about the background of the house and farm and surrounding area and tasted some delicious cassis.
This has been the perfect backdrop to our celebrations and hopefully we will return for further special times

We stayed at White Heron Properties for a family get together. I booked 4 properties - Colloquy, Lodge, Gardeners Cottage and Forge - as there was 35 of us!
First impressions were WOW!
All of the properties were immaculately kept and were clean and tidy. It was ideal for us in size and facilities, with plenty to do for both young and older members of my family.
We had a lovely weekend and would definitely recommend the place.

We originally booked this property in 2019 to go for a week in 2020. Due to Covid & lockdown this was rebooked for 2021 & then we eventually went in August 2022. Jo & team were extremely helpful with the rebookings & carrying over our deposit. As there were 28 family members we booked The Colloquy, The Forge, Gardeners Cottage & The Lodge & the set-up & properties exceeded all our expectations! As we were lucky with the weather we all ate outside on the terrace every night with plenty of seating around the long tables. We used the barbeque situated on the terrace & also both kitchens. One of these is enormous & has an extendable table that would have hosted us all too. There was ample cutlery, glasses, crockery, pots & pans & large serving dishes for our large group & we literally had everything we wanted. An initial large Tesco delivery set us up with food & drink & we topped up during the week from Co-op in Kington & Morrisons in Leominster. Most mornings we had breakfast on the terrace & some then went round the (heated) pool or playing games in the gardens which are immaculate with low hedges dividing the lawns up. There were plenty of local activities - golf, kayaking, paddle boards, nature reserve, pubs & an outdoor activity centre Oaker Wood Leisure. Also a group of us had a guided Cassis tour by Jo the owner which was enjoyed by all & as all properties were provided with their own bottle of Cassis & sparkling wine we sampled plenty during our stay. Jo popped over & enjoyed a cocktail with us too & was great company telling us the history of Whittern Farm. Our family of 28 came from USA & all parts of England & we had a fabulous time.
Would highly recommend!

The rooms were ideal for our group of 30 people. Refreshments were brilliant with the lunchtime quiche a winner, several wanting the recipe. We used the garden space for meeting and wandering - we loved it.

I have been doing these short UK breaks with family and friends for over 20 years, at various locations. This was our 3rd stay at the Colloquy, and I have to say this is our favourite. Jo and her team have always made us feel very much at home. The staff are invisible, but always available. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and of a high standard. Beautiful groins and facilities. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a get together!

The house was perfect location and well set up. We had a group of of over 20 staying over the main Colloquy and the lodge. All the family were impressed by the standard of the property and the welcome pack and gifts was a lovely touch. The pool, sauna and hot tub were fantastic, and the caterers we organised looked after us well. Every room and apartment was well equipped, original and well looked after. Adults and children were occupied with the open garden space and the squash court was a nice surprise as well as the indoor gym area!! The Colloquy is an amazing place to spend time with friends and family and we will be back there in 2023...cant wait!! Thanks to Jo and the team for such a lovely stay.

We stayed in all 3 properties for a 40th birthday weekend with friends and their families. It was perfect, with so much space to come together but also space to be in your own family group.
We had a fantastic time, the children loved it. The outside space is fantastic too.

At our peak we had 14 adults and 7 children all staying at the Colloquy, and even with this amount of people it never felt overcrowded. The many, well furnished, spaces allowed for play time, dining, TV watching and quiet relaxation all to be going on simultaneously in the house. The huge bedrooms meant families were comfortable and couples had a beautiful space to retreat to if they wished. The well maintained grounds made for a brilliant Easter egg hunt and the leisure facilities kept everyone very happy! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will be returning.

The only improvement we can think of would be to have a standing shower in all ensuites (those that didn't had a bath with a shower head though, so even this wasn't a real issue).

After 2 years of Coronavirus we were finally able to meet up as a whole family - enlarged by the arrival of 4 new family members in that time. The games facilities at The Colloquy gave us the chance to indulge our competitive natures in various happy pursuits! Dancing was easily accommodated, thanks to the large area of the lounge floor. Each family was well provided for in their own comfortable area, whilst being able to come together socially and for mealtimes. That’s not to mention the lovely old building, and garden, with lovely countryside beyond. All in all a wonderful weekend!

Whilst the house overall was excellent and the location beautiful. The house was too hot and the water was also so very hot.
The kitchens although good needed individually to be better supplied with utensils and crockery. All of them should have scissors, sadly we had none at all. The hand mixer was broken and one of the hairdryers also broken. Family room 3 and 4 needs a kettle and a little fridge.
We all felt that more fridge space was needed, perhaps a large American fridge in The Whisper kitchen. We had seven families and there was not enough chiller space for all of us. We used the Squash court for storage, not ideal. A full length mirror in the rooms would be nice, just remove a picture here and there

Overall we managed and we all loved it. Just a tweak or two and it would be perfect. The heating is something that needs looking at though

Thank you to everyone we all had a wonderful time and would definitely would recommend it to anyone

I've just come back from a weekend at white heron estate, staying in the colloquy, forge and lodge as a group of 23 adults for my 40th birthday. Myself and all my friends who were staying, were blown away with the property and the facilities. We made full use of the hot tub, pool and even the squash court. We have had an amazing weekend celebrating and are all sad to be home . We hadn't realised how perfect the property was going to be for our gatsby themed Saturday night. I wanted to thank you for all the hamper goodies and extras that were left ! Thankyou for helping me make my belated 40th so awesome. Special mention to Natasha who put up with endless emails for the last 18 months during all the challenges of covid and also for being on hand this weekend to answer a few calls and texts !

What a great place to stay! Beautiful welcome hamper on arrival, lovely bubble bath in each bathroom with soft towels. Great amenities from sports kit to borrow, squash court, badminton kit, croquet, a hot tub and a sauna too. Absolutely something for everyone, plus their own blackcurrant liquor to celebrate the stay! Well equipped kitchen and even an orchard in the garden. Natalie is really helpful, should anything crop up.

This place was fabulous in every way. The pool and gardens are even better than the photos.
The hot tub, sauna and table tennis area are fantastic.
Every bedroom has its own charm. The house is huge but feels comfortable and cosy somehow at the same time. Natasha the property manager was responsive and friendly.
Do not hesitate to book this place! We will definitely be coming back over the years.

Truly lovely property in a beautiful location. All bedrooms are huge and full of character and quirky details. The house could do with some TLC as all the furnishings look quite tired and worn. We were the first visitors after lock-down was eased, so preparing the Colloquy for the new Covid-19 health and safety regulations was a huge job for the White Heron staff. Manager Natasha met the challenge admirably, efficiently resolved a few glitches and could not have been more welcoming - at a social distance, of course! The sun shone, the children had a fabulous time in the pool, the whole family enjoyed the garden for games and relaxation, it was so good to get away after lock-down. Dinner on the terrace and starry skies, blissful! There are interesting walks and cycle rides straight from the door, and marvellous countryside round about to explore. Can't wait for next year, we've booked already!

What an absolute joy to to have found this gem! With ease from booking, dealing with 101 questions from me - the facilities are simply fantastic. We were a family group of 34, little kids and big kids alike all had the most wonderful time. The table tennis, hot tub, squash courts and piano all went down an extra big treat. See you again in the near future.

We visited the house for a stag party. The house is great for any large group (with or without children). The house has plenty to do - although the pool was closed for the winter, the table tennis, piano, squash court, sauna and hot tub meant there was something for everyone - and there is enough space that you can disappear into a quiet corner if you need to. We had some issues regulating hot water in some of the bathrooms, but there are so many other bathrooms that it didn’t cause major problems. We found it difficult to book taxis for a large group given the remoteness of the location, but pubs and restaurants are only a short drive away (or maybe a long walk in nicer weather). The house had pretty much everything we needed and is well-stocked with kitchenware, dishwasher tablets, etc. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a big house for a large group to catch up in the peace and quiet of the countryside.

Our stay at the colloquy was amazing. It was the perfect base for the bridemaids for our wedding. We loved every bit of it! Only thing was we were under the impression the front table sat 40 people for a large thanksgiving meal and that was not set up in the end but other than that it was absolutely perfect. We will be back!

The Colloquy hosts my twice a year Facilitator's Development Programme and having just finished the November programme I am happy to write how good the venue was. As always the participants were bowled over by their stay at the venue and it adds so much to the overall experience. The quietness and focus that it engenders is exactly what is needed for our four days. Thank you.

Amazing place. Everyone was wowed by the beauty of the place. just a couple of things, could do with better pots and pans for cooking for large numbers. More toilet rolls, and a brief summary of how to work the spa would have made that a bit better. The soundproof is not the best so make sure to put the heaviest sleepers near the living room. But really these are small things and in the bigger picture it was an awesome weekend in a truly wonderful house. Great location just a short walk 2 miles to the stag pub. Worked so well for our group thanks again.

As a family of 15 we stayed at The Colloquy for a gorgeous sunny weekend in September.
The house is amazing! Very spacious and enjoyed by everyone.
All the bedrooms are beautifully decorated with luxury en-suite bathrooms. The bed linen, towels and robes are excellent.
We loved the huge round dining table and enjoyed evening meals together using the ideally located catering kitchen right next to the dining area.
The cinema lounge and tv was a great place to share in the evening after dinner.
The farmhouse kitchen was perfect for family breakfasts and the warm swimming pool, sauna, hot tub and outside area was enjoyed by everyone as we were so lucky with the weather.
A superb place that is highly recommended by us all.
Thanks to Natasha for great service and White Heron Properties for providing such an excellent property, with everything you could wish for.

I would absolutely recommend The Colloquy and White Heron Properties to any large party - family, friends, hen weekend, it would suit any of them. As a group of 14 women, across a large age range, we absolutely loved every minute at the house, the pool was fantastic and so warm, the rooms were incredible, our contact with White Heron, the Property Manager Natasha, was brilliant. We honestly could not have asked for any more. We were lucky to have gorgeous September weather for our stay, but there was so much that could be done inside the house and so much space, that if it had rained we wouldn't have been bored.

When my wife and I decided that we wanted to take our children and grandchildren away to celebrate my 70th birthday, we looked for a property large enough for 18. Luckily for us, we found The Colloquy. Our week there exceeded our expectations. The location is superb, the grounds beautiful and safe, the pool great, and the house is large enough to allow space for noisy celebration and peace at the same time. To find a dining-room table that can happily seat 18 is a rare and real achievement. The kitchens are well-equipped and there was more than enough crockery, cutlery and glassware for us all, probably without ever having to use the dishwashers. Apart from the amenities in the property itself, the information provided for guests about what's available in the area was first-rate. We had wonderful fresh croissants and bread delivered in the morning by Noke Lane Bakery. An excellent birthday meal was cooked and served by Cider Barn Catering, and good food and sandwiches delivered by Hereford Deli. We had a great time and hope to return before too long.

Fantastic holiday home for a large gathering, all bedrooms big and luxurious. Fantastic entertainment space inside and out in a beautiful location. I booked the Colloquy this weekend for my sisters hen party, and it’s safe to say I was far from disappointed! The house is absolutely beautiful - in a very secluded area, and facilities to cater for whatever weather. The lawn space surrounding the pool was exceptional, above and beyond what I expected and more than enough room for all my activities I had planned for our weekend away.
I self catered for 22 girls, from full english breakfast, to afternoon tea style finger buffet - and even a 5 choice slow cooker dinner. We had all the facilities provided to do so, and I couldn’t be happier with our stay.
Would highly recommend.
Thankyou white heron!

I can’t thank white heron properties enough.the colloquy was absolutely beautiful and far surpassed all our expectations. The house was at such a high standard and the team at white heron properties have been so helpful, thoughtful and brilliant throughout all correspondence pre and during our stay. I wish I could think of more reasons so we could go back all the time.

We had a wonderful stay at the Colloquy for a hen party this weekend. We didn’t leave the house all weekend and enjoyed the amazing pool, hot tub, sauna and gardens. Catering was easy with multiple kitchens and spaces to serve food and drink meaning we could set up different types of entertaining through the weekend. All the bedrooms were gorgeous and all 20 attendees had nothing but good things to say.

What can I say, Jo and Charlotte have both been amazing, they have accommodated us fully throughout our stay. I was a bit worried when I first booked the Cottage as I had only seen a few pictures, but after arriving we were all fully amazed. The place is beautiful and very large, it had plenty of space and lots of entertainment. We were blessed to have great weather so the outdoor heated pool, sauna and Jacuzzi was very well used. Kids absolutely loved it, plenty of room for them to run around and be free. They also had Sky in a number of rooms so kids could watch tv and fall asleep. Charlotte and Jo both visited us while we was staying at the Cottage and helped us with anything we needed, they were both very friendly and accommodating. After posting a few pictures on social media we have had a number of friends and family who have all said how lovely the place looks and have inquired about the cottage, I have of course given the green light and recommended booking this wonderful Cottage. Thank you once again Jo & Charlotte, you guys have been amazing, x

We booked the colloquy and a couple of the cottages (lodge and forge) for a friends hen party for 25 people and it was very reasonably priced for what the colloquy offers. The guests were all thrilled with what an amazing space it offered. Lots of happy campers and a very happy hen!
The facilities were amazing and the guests loved the hot tub, ping pong table and lawns and would have used the outside more if it had been warmer. Or used the open fire if it had been colder - the underfloor heating was very effective! The surrounding countryside had some lovely walks.
The bedrooms were luxurious and really tastefully decorated and also huge with very comfy beds and lovely linen and towels. The common areas worked brilliantly - several kitchens so loads of fridge space and plenty of cutlery and crockery and everything we needed to cook and even make cocktails (inc glasses), there was also places for around 16 to sit down at two different tables, also chill out space on sofas. We were left some delightful hampers with local produce on our arrival which was very kind.
The outbuildings (lodge and forge) were nicer and larger than my own house! most bathrooms had freestanding bathtubs :)
Thoroughly recommend this lovely place for a weekend party, wedding or just a holiday with friends or family. White heron were great and charlotte dealt with all aspects of the booking process brilliantly - they even sent someone out to look at the dishwasher on a saturday eve! I hope to return one day - definitely book this if you are pondering - you wont be disappointed!
Thank you for a great weekend!

Our stay at the Colloquy was absolutely wonderful. Charlotte was a great help from day one, always replying to any questions very promptly. The house was perfect for our party size and we also had the gardeners cottage and lodge, which was great for couples who didn't have children, as they could escape the noise for a while :) We all said we would love to return next year but to try and book a bank holiday weekend instead, as the weekend went far too fast! Thank you for a lovely stay, the house helped us create wonderful memories as a large group of old friends.

We all had an excellent time at the Colloquy, it was decorated really nicely for Christmas and we received a warm welcome and a great hamper. The cooker in the main kitchen was great. The bedrooms and ensuites were all comfy and spacious. The grounds are beautiful and there is a great sense of being away from it all. Many of our party really enjoyed the sauna and hot tub. We never ran out of wine glasses! It was an ideal house for our group, plenty of space to spread out but all rooms big enough to get together in.

A couple of areas for improvement, seats in the snug (red room) were incredibly unsupportive, the oven and the overall lighting and the dishwasher in the Discourse were ineffective. One of the sinks blocked during our stay and a shower leaked all over the floor. On arrival, and for our week stay, the heating in bedrooms 1 and 2 weren’t working effectively. This was explained to us and extra electric heaters were provided but the rooms were cool. The owners also had done their best to rectify this.

What can I say?
Colloquy suited us perfectly, we had a most enjoyable and relaxing weekend.
The property has large communal areas that could easily accommodate us all, whilst there were also smaller cosier areas which people could escape to when they were in need of piece and quiet.
Everyone loved the leisure facilities and gardens and took full advantage of them.
The property itself was clean and there was an ample supply of plates, glasses cutlery etc.
Charlotte couldn't have been more helpful, making the whole booking and arrival process so easy. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch.

We had a lovely weekend break with friends in this wonderful house, which comfortably accommodated our very large group. This is our second trip, so we knew the layout and took over the lodge and forge as well. The house is very well equipped and we found all that we needed. It’s a shame none of the fires were operational as our September trip was chillier than our previous May trip and it would have been wonderful to snuggle in front of a fire. If you plan to walk to the lovely Stagg Inn be warned that they don’t really accommodate groups popping in for a drink (there is no bar area) and you need to book to eat. All in all a lovely trip, the pool, hot tub and table tennis facilities were well used and White Herons flexibility was much appreciated. Next time we hope to squeeze in a cassis tour.

We were a group of families staying together. Amazing house and we loved the various sitting rooms and grounds! We used the pool sauna hot tub every day and also the squash court was a great addition. One of the best things about this property is definitely Charlotte who couldn’t do enough for us!

Had a fabulous time!

Just one comment I think it would be helpful to publish the access times for others for the pool and also to put a note in actual Potting shed door about its use limited to one property.

17 of us stayed for a long week end and it was fantastic. Plenty of space for us all, loads to do for children and adults alike all set in idyllic surroundings. Charlotte and her team were very helpful if anything was amiss and we are now keen to re book for next year as this is going to be hard to beat! Great that each room had a bathroom adjourned or en suite and separate parts of the house for those without children with added privacy. Can't fault it.

We had 30 members of our family, aged between 4 and 74, staying in the Colloquy, the Lodge and the Forge. The children loved the mezzanine areas, parents loved having the children nearby but not too near! Everyone enjoyed the swimming pool, we were so lucky to have fine, hot weather. Lots of space inside and out for sports and other activities, and lots of beautiful walks from the doorstep. A brilliant venue for a family party weekend.

This is our 2nd visit to The Colloquy. We're a group of 5 families of University friends, adults and 8 children aged 1 - 10 , every single one of us had a wonderful time! The property meets all expectations in terms of cleanliness, comfort, versitility and space. We had great weather this time around and spent alot of time in the fantastic outdoor pool and beautiful garden. We are planning our 3rd visit already. Thanks to Charlotte and Jo for your patience and help as we had a few last minute changes. All in all we can't recommend a stay at The Colloquy enough!

We were 16 adults and 12 young children. Extensive accommodation, plenty of space for kids to sleep on extra beds. Fabulous beautiful grounds. Lovely pool. Beautiful location.
Excellent customer service- extremely helpful at every step from changing dates, questions re kids provision etc and allowing a late check out as no one booked next day. Would definitely return.
Slight down side-with so many young kids, mezzanine levels in rooms abit of a worry and although pool had padlocked gate, this is very reliant on the adults/ older kids actually locking it obviously.

The house is wonderfully spacious (the photos on the website don't really do it justice) and the bedrooms/en suite bathrooms huge and so comfortable, and also slightly quirky which we loved.
The kitchens are well equipped and very well designed, enabling us to cook and serve meals for 17 - 29. It was great to have such enormous tables so that we could all sit and eat together.
(We hired Gardener's Cottage and The Forge in addition, and this worked very well, enabling everyone to have their 'own space' and also come together for meals and activities.)
We loved having the squash court, indoor table tennis, and hot tub and sauna on site, and the beautiful gardens for games. The owners have thoughtfully provided rackets, balls and some indoor shoes too.
It was also great for us to have the piano and space to play music together (although the piano was in need of tuning.)

The Collquy was the setting for a group of friends’ 30th celebrations including a mix of couples and single friends. The house was absolutely fantastic. The main lounge and tv area provided a great place for everyone to get together, multiple sitting rooms meant we could also relax elsewhere. Each bedroom had excellent decoy and was extremely spacious. Multiple kitchens provided more than enough space to prepare food etc. The hot tub was an added bonus and pool would be great in summer. Perfect setting for group celebrations

We were there for my 30th birthday, 8 couples. It was huge, luxurious and I would highly recommend. Every room had it's own bit of character. The roll top baths were a real treat. The hot tub and sauna gave us our bit of relaxation after all the food and drink we went through. Overall we all loved it.

Arrived at the accommodation and were totally stunned by the vastness of the building and grounds. I felt like the lady of the manor.there were 16 of my family with 4 children. We each had large bedrooms with ensuite sand some had sitting rooms and kitchenettes. No fear of feeling overcrowded. Three sitting rooms large sizes. T.V. In each room toys and books for the kids and a courtyard where kids could play safely. In fact we were hardly troubled by them. Hide and seek went on for hours..
A jacuzzi sauna, table tennis and squash court all available with rackets etc. Ever last detail had been carefully thought out.
I used one of the reccomended Chiefs. The meal was excellent cooked to perfection the staff waiting at the table were also very pleasant.

Would certainly recommend this house to anybody looking for an extra special break
The owner and manageress were lovely and promptly there for any trouble, not thT there was any.
The experience was the best and I will certainly return.

The layout of the house was perfect for everyone in our group which included small children their parents and grandparents.
Kitchens worked well and sitting areas were socially organised.
Staff friendly and helpful and everywhere was very clean.
The only issues were the big plates which didn’t fit in one of the dishwashers and the ovens were showing signs of wear and tear.
We had a great Christmas many thanks

We went for the Colloquy as it offers 8 ensuite bedrooms that are all up to a similar very good standard which is surprisingly hard to find (most places offer a lot of twins or bunk beds as they are designed for families). The huge round dining table and various kitchens came in handy as we were planning having a massive Christmas like roast together for one of the nights.
For a small additional charge they even kept the outdoor pool heated for us which was a very nice adddition to hot tub and sauna. Even the squash court was good fun and is a nice little add on to have.
Charlotte, the property manager, was always reachable and helpful with any issues that came up during our stay.
Would definitely recommend!

I booked the Colloquy for 22 people aged 20-24, the place was clean and tidy and catered to all of our needs and more. The photographs online do not do justice for how special this place is. I highly recommend it for large parties as their is more than enough space. Ovbiously their are areas of maintenance that need to be conducted whilst at the house (hot tub, sauna and pool) but they were easy no hastle at all. Would book again.

We had a lovely holiday for 4 nights. The pool was very warm and clean. The gardens were spectacular. The rooms all clean and comfy. Lots of things to occupy the time like sky movies games squash court and a piano. The jacuzzi and sauna were heavenly. The property is very spacious and beautifully decorated. And Charlotte the manager was so welcoming and helpful.

We were a group of 21 friends and we could not recommend The Colloquy more! The house was excellently presented and fully equipped. The pool and gardens are amazing to spend time in, plus with a squash court, jacuzzi and sauna there is so much for everyone to enjoy. There was also a lovely welcome package for us on arrival, which was very thoughtful.

The only thing I would raise is that we weren't ware that the pool could be used by the other White Heron properties from 10am - 12pm - it really wasn't a problem at all but just something to be aware of (although that said I may have missed that in the information somewhere, so could be my fault).

As I said, I could not recommend this house more, such a wonderful place to stay and we are very thankful to Charlotte and her team for being so lovely and helpful. I hope to visit again with my family next year!

We took a group of 13 family members, including two toddlers, an eight year old and two teenage boys for a week at The Colloquy. Despite dodgy English weather, we had a wonderful week. All the children found plenty to occupy themselves. The teenagers (and most of the male adults) particularly loved the squash court. There was plenty of living space so people weren't on top of each other. There was a lovely welcome pack of goodies for us on arrival, an excellent laundry room and plenty of kitchen equipment. The garden was lovely and the family enjoyed the pool, although the poor weather meant it got a bit chilly for the toddlers. We would love to come again!

We spent our annual family (23 of us) at Colloquy & Gardener's Cottage this year. What a find! Fantastic facilities (swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, squash court, table tennis, large garden), lots of bathrooms, reception rooms for different groups to do different activities & five kitchens made food preparation an absolute dream for such a large group! I would thoroughly recommend anyone to stay in these properties. You won't be disappointed.

We had an absolutely fantastic time in the BEAUTIFUL Colloquy, it was most definitely a weekend of luxury and enjoyment, it was by far the largest and loveliest property myself and fellow guests had ever stayed in. The bride to be was astounded and had the best weekend too.

The grounds were beautifully manicured and we had such a blast playing games in the different sections. The pool and Jacuzzi added to the luxury of our stay and were much appreciated by all of the guests. The large round table in the first lounge and the lovely long wooden table table adjacent to the gardens were superb in fitting our party of 17 comfortably.

We didn't properly get to make the most of the surrounding area (unless The Colloquy gardens count), as we made the house and planned activities the focal point of our stay. We are thankful for this, as it would have been a shame to miss out on all the luxuries The Colloquy have to offer. One of the bathrooms even had a television, futon and an incredible bath and shower, you can only imagine what the rest of the property was like.

We will be back again soon without a doubt, there were a lot of hesitant hens come Sunday evening, thank you to Sarah and the team for our amazing stay.

An absolutely beautiful property in an amazing location. The facilities at Colloquy were second to none, we did not leave the property and it's grounds all weekend, apart from a short hop to a local farm shop to buy local produce for a BBQ.
We were 5 families with 7 children - a newborn up to aged 9 - despite games, noise, movies etc... we had ample space and everyone was able to relax as the house and grounds are well equipped, clean and comfortable. The outdoor pool was the icing on the cake as we had fabulous weather. We also enjoyed the hot-tub, squash court and beautiful greenery.
The weekend surpassed our expectations and we shall look to return! Thank you Jo for your warm welcome and thank you Sarah for your help with booking and meeting all of our requirements!

Beautiful spacious comfortable property with excellent facilities. The families enjoyed using all the sporting opportunities available.
It was wonderful that all seventeen of us could sit round the dining table. We made full use of all the fridges and dish washers.
The property is in a wonderful peaceful country location . It is to be highly recommended.

16 of us (8 adults and 8 kids aged 4 to 12) stayed over a bank holiday. This very spacious home provided plenty of room both for when we all wanted to be together but also when we wanted to split up into smaller groups. The large garden provided plenty of room for the kids to play footie and the hedges were ideal for hide and seek. A very relaxing time was had by all. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Great, character-full accommodation presented to a very high standard. Underfloor heating ensured a warm and cosy feel to the place & leisure facilities (squash court, sauna and jacuzzi) ensured we felt spoilt. Hosts were excellent - on hand when required but distant enough to allow privacy. Would definitely recomment to others.

Bringing families together in a way that works for all, is never easy, especially when from 3 different countries on 2 different continents with age groups ranging from 2 - 60 years old. Nonetheless, our party managed this with a fantastic post Christmas New Year's break at The Colloquy. The house was absolutely fantastic. Immensely welcoming, even a real dressed Christmas tree greeted us. Great sized house, beautifully presented. All bedrooms, without exception where clean, comfortable with great decor. Masses of kitchen and eating spaces, allowing different age groups to hang out in different areas. Washing and drying machines made it incredibly easy with travelling children. Sound system, TV, squash, sauna, jacuzzi and lovely walks all available. Thank you to White Heron Estates for making our stay so memorable.

We are a family of 22 from all over the World who came together for a week over Christmas 2016. What a fabulous house in a gorgeous location in Herefordshire. The house was warm and welcoming - with a very enjoyable hamper of goodies and Jo's (the owner) locally produced cassis was delicious in our champagne! There was a beautiful tree and decorations which gave us the Christmas spirit! The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and there are plenty of places to escape and relax and to come together over meals, to play games and watch movies. The squash court, hot tub and table tennis gave us an opportunity play some tournaments. The are has spectacular scenic walks and there are plenty of places to go out to eat. It was the perfect week which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Sarah the property manager was on hand to provide advice as necessary and was so very helpful and we loved chatting to Jo and hearing all about her family history. We highly recommend the Colloquy and will definitely come back sometime. Thank you all for a truly memorable week.

The Colloquy was the perfect house for a group of friends to get together to celebrate my 50th birthday for a weekend. It was such a relaxed venue, with fantastic facilities, all the rooms were warm and cosy. Plenty of space to spread out.
Great to have the big round table that seated everyone easily - and thanks for the recommendation on a chef for our catered dinner: Jamie Yardley (and his team of helpers) did an excellent job, with no fuss or bother.....it was so brilliant not having a mountain of washing up to do afterwards too. We used the kitchen in the Discourse for our own cooking - breakfasts etc - leaving the catering kitchen for the professionals!
I've had several friends say it was the best party they've ever been to - partly due to the venue, which was amazing.
I wish it wasn't so far from London - that was the only downside for us - but the gardens and grounds were beautiful, and the surrounding lanes lovely to walk in.
Thanks so much to Jo & Sarah for helping us make this such a memorable event.

It was perfect for our needs and each room blew our minds! The only downside was being there in winter and not enjoying the use of the swimming pool and seeing the garden in full bloom!

I booked the Colloquy along with Gardener's Cottage and The Forge for a long weekend away to celebrate my 30th birthday. We had an absolutely wonderful time, the pictures on the website do not do this place any justice at all. Every single room had its own charm and character - it made for a very special and unforgettable weekend.

I was particularity fond of the large dining table - it was a real treat that we could have over 20 guests around the same table enjoying a lovely meal together. We were also very lucky with the weather and got to enjoy the pristine garden – even in the middle of October! Then there was the squash court, the hot tub … need I go on!

The level of customer service provided by Jo, Sarah and the rest of her team was first rate and I would highly recommend anybody thinking of hiring this place to get in touch and get the ball rolling! I for one will be returning next year!
