Everyone wants you to write a review these days. I'm usually happy to do so because I know honest feedback can be helpful for both supplier and customer but, please, just one request per supply!

Please see my first review for a more complete opinion of this stay.

Suffice it to say, No. 5 Highlands is excellent. Highly recommended.

Would you return?
Yep

This is a lovely, comfortable apartment, however, due to the cliff top walk being closed for subsidence, the walk fromthe beach is quite steep, although there is a lift, that gives a longer walk to get back. We also found the living room a little gloomy as limited light comes through due to the lower floor location

We really enjoyed our stay in this spacious accomodation, although were a little disapointed that it was a basement apartment rather than a garden apartment as advertised. The garden is reached via the front door and is not really useable for sitting due to being on a slope.
The apartment has a well equipped kitchen, with all necessary appliances. The living area is comfortable and the main bedroom has a comfortable bed, ample storage and an en-suite shower room. There is also a second bedroom with twin beds and a seperate bathroom all in excellent condition.
The apartment is well situated, being a short walk to Shanklin Chine and Old Village with some nice pubs and restaurants.

On arrival we were immediately struck by how modern, spacious and clean the apartment was. And it got better as it became clear that the furnishings were of an equally high quality and very comfortable. The attention to detail was most welcome, with very clear 'user information' on all the essentials (operating the tv, appliances, refuse and recycling etc).

Cleaning products and refuse bags were available, as was a welcome pack of milk, tea and coffee (I'm told there were biscuits as well, but I don't remember getting one!). Parking was very easy in the allocated parking bay and the whole site is nice and level (no steep slopes and just a few steps down to the front door).

Door to door it's a gentle five to eight minute downhill walk to The Village Inn at Shanklin Old Village. There's a main road to cross, which can be a bit busy but is no real issue. The Coastal Path goes past the apartment and there are bus stops for coastal buses just three or four minutes walk away. There are some terrific walks out from Shanklin Old Village and the railway station is fifteen to twenty minutes walk away.

Number 5 is partially below ground level so gets sheltered from the worst of the sun, but we found that it did get quite warm at times. We've suggested that a couple of fans are provided, particularly for when evenings are very warm. For no apparent reasons the tv occasionally lost all signal for a few minutes, very odd considering the wifi connection was really very good.

A truly excellent holiday apartment which will be our first choice if and when we return to the Old Village.

We used the apartment as a base whilst moving. We found it a very clean, quiet and perfect location to relax for a few days between house moves.

Perfect for many walks in what was a lockdown period.

All in all was ideal. Definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at 5 Highlands, I liked the fact you have your own private entrance just down from garden level. The apartment was very clean and well equipped with bedding and towels included. I loved the two bathrooms. There is a private parking space. The only fault was to be awakened by the sound of gushing water from a boarded in waste pipe in the twin bedded room, this could be quite noisy especially early morning. I love the location of 5 Highlands, the coastal path runs alongside, as we are keen walkers this was ideal, and you can walk into Old Shanklin Village.

The apartment is well equipped, and the location is close to the "old Shanklin ", well within walking distance, and about 15 - 20 minutes down to the beach

The apartment was adequate for two adults and two children, close to local amenities etc. Plenty of places to eat and visit in Shanklyn.
