Cottage owners just next door, very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds, ensuite shower room and main shower room excellent, and ideal for walking the many footpaths and bridleways, and only 10 mins by car to sandown or shanklin. Will be coming back again
Helms House is set in a lovely village location perfect for beautiful local walks including the Duver beach and visits around the island. The house has a homely feel and is well equipped with a pretty self contained garden safe for children. The road outside the house is quite busy at times but not a noise issue though better to back in so that exiting is safer.
Great apartment modern and well presented very clean. Great location to get around the island, text and e mails before arrival very good customer service.
What an amazing property.Spacious well presented house.Great space for 6 adults and 4 children. We absolutely loved it.Met the owner of the property who was lovely.Had a power cut and she came round with candles and a torch which I thought was very sweet of her as she was quite concerned for us.Lovely garden for the children to run around.Parking for 3 cars.Would definitely recommend a stay at this property.
Second year at clara cottage FANTASTIC what more can I say......we are looking to book next year already.....
Great property that's very well equipped. Lovely garden area too. 2 spacious bedrooms and a downstairs loo which wasn't described in our information so was a great bonus. We were attending a sailing event in West Cowes and the chain ferry is quickly accessible from here. It was disappointing though to be able to see East Cowes marina but to be blocked off by a big black iron fence, the walk round to access the marina and the lifeboat pub seemed tedious when you could see if from the house. We had friends staying in the marina so made the walk often. Parking directly in front of the back gate t...more
This is a lovely “cottage”. Exceptionally well presented and clean. It is well located for either the seaside resorts of Shanklin and Sandown, or to quickly get away from town into the countryside and all the other attractions of the island.
We loved staying at Jan Dee, from the generous welcoming pack to the comfortable beds, the stunning sea views to the amazing kitchen which is brilliantly fitted and has everything you need. We will definitely book to come again.
Lovely place to relax close to the sea, close to all amenities. Claire is lovely, very helpful and just a call or email away - would recommend anyone to visit! Thank you!
Suncliff is a great base for a stay in Ventnor. The house has everything you could need and the view from the balcony is wonderful. We have stayed here 4 times which is testament to what we think about Suncliff!
We loved our stay at Fernwood Cottage which is perfectly situated in beautiful Bonchurch. On arrival, we were greeted by a proper Cornish clotted cream scones and tea and there were lovely fresh flowers in the sitting room. Everything that you could possibly need is provided and our stay was very comfortable. The cottage is picture perfect, both inside and out and our arrival and coming and going was made very easy. We would love to return to Fernwood Cottage for another great stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this scenic and quietly situated cottage. Everything we needed was provided and we were able to relax in warm comfort perfectly placed to travel around the island. It was delightful to wake each morning to a panorama of sea and wildlife. I was even able to make use of the small back garden to hang out my washing. A real home from home by the sea.
Stayed at Highlands for a number of years now and never had any issues. Great base to explore and within walking distance of old village and restaurants etc.
Hi it was a great holiday home a part from parking was not always good as people keep blocking the road at back but still enjoy the house would go again
We have been going to the i o w for 0ver 20 years and stayed in many locations and the squeak was a perfect place for us the only down side was the lane to the squeak needs the pot holes filling in.
What a lovely house, so well equipped in a great location with lovely views. Had all the information we needed from booking to our visit making it all stress free.
Boscobel is a great family choice for Ventnor. The location is ideal for us because it's close to my mum but others might find it a bit of a walk to Ventnor town and the beach. Having said that, it's only about 15 mins (0.7 miles according to Google maps)! We've stayed at Boscobel before and we'll definitely book again.
Property very clean and well presented. Meet Monica who cared for property and she was most helpful. We loved the position as only a few minutes walk to the high street for shops/bars/restaurants. Great as we had our dog with us and park a two minute walk away.
Lovely old cottage well equipped even down to cello tape. Had a great time would book again. It was a shock to my granddaughters not having Internet but they got over it
We really enjoyed our stay in this spacious accomodation, although were a little disapointed that it was a basement apartment rather than a garden apartment as advertised. The garden is reached via the front door and is not really useable for sitting due to being on a slope. The apartment has a well equipped kitchen, with all necessary appliances. The living area is comfortable and the main bedroom has a comfortable bed, ample storage and an en-suite shower room. There is also a second bedroom with twin beds and a seperate bathroom all in excellent condition. The apartment is well situat...more
We had another lovely stay at Whitestones, in this peaceful and well equipped cottage. Ann and Jeff are very welcoming and helpful. It was lovely to eat outside on the balcony overlooking the secluded garden and listen to the birds. We discovered an excellent mobile Fish & Chip van (The Jolly Fryer) that visits locally. We ate ours sitting in one of the car parks on the cliffs (off the Military Road) watching the sunset. The cottage is set in lovely peaceful countryside but also within easy access (by car) of the many island attractions.
Englefield is a lovely 20s bungalow which has had some extension adding an attic room and bathroom and a utility room downstairs. We love this property and relax as soon as we enter! The views could not be surpassed - unlimited sea from the front and the Downs at the back. It has a calming atmosphere and contains everything we need. Please do not change anything!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Long Ledge which was comfortable and roomy. Enough space for grandparents, parents and 2 energetic youngsters. Could have been improved with more kitchen equipment - casserole dishes with lids, for example - and a longer washing line to cope with all the clothes needed by a 2 and 4 yr old. We were also promised a stair gate that never materialised and asked for 2 single beds upstairs that were left as a double. These are minor things that did not detract from our holiday.
The Hayloft was amazing. Perfect cottage, perfect location. Easy to get to and access. Communication was great for getting there and the welcome pack had loads of brilliant information. Easy walk to the village where we recommend Tansy's Pantry - the plant based food is out of this world. Can't wait to return.
We had an amazing weeks holiday staying in this property. It is a bright, airy and stylish house. We’ll equipped and homely. A great location too. We were very lucky with the weather so actually didn’t need to venture very far. The beach, a few cafes and a pub more or less on your door step. We will be back.
We were surprised there was no welcome pack. Otherwise all excellent. ,............................
This apartment has everything you could need for a self catering holiday. Location was ideal with a short walk into the old town and short walk and steps to the beach. Ideal base for looking round the rest of the island. The veranda was lovely to sit on although it would be better if a couple of feet was taken off the trees as this blocked the view slightly. We will definitely return in the future. Shanklin is a lovely village with excellent restaurants.
This was our second visit and we fell even more in love with Mole Cottage. It provided everything we needed, location, views, shops close (but not too close), badgers and even red squirrels… We will be back…
We love staying at Brunswick terrace Perfect location for the beach and town. Deb is lovely and the little treats were great. It's a real home from home. The only thing that I would change is a lock on the downstairs loo. Will be back next year
The accommodation had a fantastic view across Sandown Bay thru to the 'cliffs' near Ventnor, brilliant outlook with extensive gardens. It was well maintained with modern appliances in good working order. The informative 'package' was very detailed concerning use of the appliances/accommodation/gardens etc. The agents were were always very helpful from original booking through departure & beyond, they were a credit to their industry. Thank you Well done!
The property Sea Glass House is huge. We were two families holidaying together and we found enough space for all for us. Issues were quickly resolved with the agent/housekeeping following flooding at the property from flash rain a few days prior to our arrival, nothing that cold be helped. It is a large house on 3 floors. A point to note that there are 2 bedrooms on the top floor and 1 bedroom on the ground floor. It worked for us as we had two tween boys who wanted their own space and could have the entire ground floor (bedroom, bathroom, lounge/diner) all to the themselves. Us adults ...more
When you walk into The Overlook, it certainly delivers the Wow Factor. The huge windows, offering panoramic views, simply blew us all away. Overall, the accommodation is excellent. It is immaculately clean (apart from the pillows, which unfortunately were heavily stained). It is very comfortable and well equipped. It offers everything you need for a family holiday or a group of friends. We stayed as a group of six. There is enough space so that you can spread out and have some privacy, or get together in the comfortable lounge or large dining area. There are even three well furnished sun ter...more
Ye Olde Cottage is a fabulous, well equipped cottage in the heart of Niton. It is unlike any holiday home we have ever stayed in, much more like a home that you have just walked into - fully equipped kitchen, rooms all full of the kind of ornaments and nick-nacks you might have collected if this was your own personal home. Although it is situated between two roads there is minimal disturbance from traffic (at least there was when we were there, in late September).
Bungalow was very spacious and comfortable; wardrobe or more hanging space would have been nice especially for larger families. The beds were very comfortable, as per previous review curtains in twin room were a bit light. We found that it felt a bit cold in some of the rooms especially Mornings and Evenings. but who could hate the outlook from the windows at the back of the property. A few colourful pictures on the walls would have given it a more homely appearance.
Gorgeous holiday home in an excellent location. All rooms are beautifully furnished with high end furniture and fittings. Good quality garden furniture ideal for watching the boats go by. Garden backs on to beach so perfect for a swim or walk along the beach.
Comfortable for 3 of us. New build house with all the modern comforts of a new kitchen, bathroom and good central heating. Car charger was invaluable and easy to use on the shared driveway with next door. She’d in garden was secure for our bikes and made riding much easier. Location was great-2 mins from supermarket (Sainsbury’s or Co-op) and easy to get into the main footpaths for Tennyson Down, needles etc. took about 20 mins to walk to Freshwater Bay. We love the Isle of Wight and love to keep coming back to West Wight. Even though the weather wasn’t on our side, the level of a...more
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hope Cottage. Very well positioned with beach at the end of the road. Well stocked Co op around the corner. Most areas of interest on the Isle of Wight about a twenty minute drive. Plenty of parking in the front drive. Very large, comfortable house that accommodated ten people over three generations. The kitchen was well supplied with crockery, cutlery and pots and pans. Very easy to cook and eat in. We all enjoyed our time there. The only criticisms are the lack of hanging facilities in the bedrooms. Also only one person could have a shower at a time, the wa...more
Everything as always in perfect order and lovingly maintained. Not so much staying in a holiday cottage as staying in a family home. Ideally placed for visiting all parts of the island and best part is returning to enjoy the cottage and garden. Thank you for another excellent stay.
Beautiful views and fantastic cottage wonderfully maintained. We absolutely loved it! And can’t wait to return. Just a couple of small observations, as folks who have owned holiday let’s- a coffee pod machine would be a big bonus, also I would put throws over the sofas or have them recovered, and think a cottage of this wonderful calibre should have better quality bedding. But do understand these are minor observations. We absolutely it and will definitely return and recommend
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. We had a maintenance issue during our stay but this was dealt with quickly and efficiently by the friendly team. A great place to relax by the sea or in the garden and lots to do on the island - nothing is very far away!
We had a lovely stay at Pointe South. Downstairs is particularly spacious and with the patio doors open you really felt like the sea was touchable. The kitchen is very well equipped and the tiling in the bathrooms exceptional! There was plenty of hot water and all the modern conveniences needed for the 6 of us. We were sad to leave, we would have loved to stay longer.
The accommodation is set in a beautiful location close to Old Shanklin. It is very modern and well equipped. The fittings and furnishings like new and the whole place is in excellent condition throughout. Could do with some ambient lighting such as a table or standard lamp to soften the lighting in the lounge.
The Barn is very quiet and rural - set on a working arable farm the accommodation is good quality and the amenities first class - the owners were helpful and friendly - the location is great for dog walking from your door with footpaths leading in 4 directions The garden is split in 2 by a public footpath which is ok unless you have a dog that gets territorial (the small garden directly behind the barn is fully fenced in - the second garden over looking fields is not) The back view from the barn is of another barn - again not something you can see in any of the literature really The driv...more
Great location and very comfortable. Really well equipped and very good value for money. Recommended
Queensbury lodge was very clean and well equipped for our stay. It was als8in a good central location for getting around the island. The lodge is very close to Godshill which is 8very quaint village with tea rooms, pubs and a mixture of gift shops.
A fantastic property in a beautiful tranquil location . The quality of the accommodation was superb. The owners had thought and provided everything that we needed. Would highly recommend .
Excellent accomodation in a great position with off road parking on a quiet road. Comfortable sofas and beds and as much equipment anyone could require. Loved the conservatory and garden.
A beautiful place to stay with views over the estuary, and down the garden a summer house where you can relax away from it all. This is certainly the best accommodation we have stayed in, and we’ve been to a lot! Super comfortable bed and all mod cons, what else is there to need in a perfect week in April? We will certainly be back but it’s very popular so best to book early!
Lovely place, spotlessly clean, and perfectly situated between the town and beach. Beautiful garden, although it was October, and raining, so never got to sit out there. Maybe, we'll have to come back and rectify that!
Despite the freezing weather we were warm and cosy and close to Waitrose for supplies and The Lighthouse for a good pub, all with beautiful views of the water.
Cottage decor a bit tired but comfortable. All modern equipment in the kitchen. Good shower. Location good but Ventnor is a very tired town now. Offsite parking was excellent for one car but no turning space so we had to reverse down the hill so we could drive in to the space.views were spectacular.
Very spacious and well located property. The kitchen was large but poorly equipped and the fridge too small and in need of repair or replacement (broken shelves in the door making it hard to store milk etc. The beds were comfy and spacious rooms but lacking in furniture. I.e. dressing tables, chairs.
A very comfortable bungalow with a superb view. Cosy with a good heating system. Location good for exploring the island with a regular bus route close by.
Spent a lovely week at the cottage. Very clean, had everything we needed for our holiday. Enough space for the four of us. We were a multi generation group with my 87 year old mum & 9 year old grandson and it worked very well. There were games, books & dvds although we didn’t use as we had perfect weather. Small outdoor space great for breakfast and cups of tea. Compact kitchen but we cooked most days. Good position close to shops and walking distance from the station. Beach easy to access we mostly used the lift to return at end of day. Lovely beach with walks past the chine when ti...more
My husband and I stayed a week in this cottage. We had a lovely time. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The garden was perfect for both us and our dog, a springer spaniel. It might be a little tight for space if five people stayed, though. There was a lovely walk straight from the cottage door, which went up to a nature reserve. On our last night we had a meal in the pub at the corner of the road (can’t remember its name), which was delicious. I would recommend both the cottage and the pub.
We had a lovely stay at this well equipped and comfortable apartment with fantastic views across the Solent. All the bars and restaurants we visited in Cowes were just a10-15 minute walk away, so no need to drive out in the evenings.
We had a lovely family holiday here. There were 2 families, including 3 children. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The bedrooms were very comfortable and everything was well appointed. However, there wasn’t any gas in the bbq and this wasn’t replaced when we tried to call. The wardrobe in the top twin bedroom smelt horrible. A retractable washing line is needed in the garden for a house this size and a long handled brush to clean up the sand. Also the door to the balcony needs a support to stop it blowing into the corner of the roof and smashing. Saying this we ha...more
Owners very helpful and friendly, checking that everything in the cottage was there and as we needed it. Rooms all clean and functioning as expected. Only point disliked, the access to drive and need to 3-point+ turn to get out - often made easier by the early departure of the one car parked alongside on the drive. A minor point, but not the start you want on each otherwise relaxing day. Happy to return there in the future.
Our October half term break at Rofford Lodge was excellent. There was a lovely welcoming hamper with not only basics but luxury items too. Cut flowers were also another delightful surprise. The large open plan suited our two families very well. We used the downstairs bedroom which had on-suite shower and was very large and comfortable. The bedrooms upstairs were ample for the rest of the family. Another of these on-suites could have usefully included a shower although we managed to share the downstairs. The weather was very good considering the season and we visited many sites on the isla...more
Downedge was all that we could have asked for for our multi generational family get together. A large, well equipped country house with the most beautifully tended wraparound gardens. We felt that we were away from it all yet it is within easy walking distance of the shop and pubs in Brading and a longer walk or a short drive takes you to the coast. Everything that we could possibly have needed was there, the house was spotless and the welcome hamper was lovely. So fab.
A well-maintained property on the seafront. Fabulous sea views from a clean and comfortable house perfectly situated to explore the beautiful Isle of Wight.
Stunning location on the cliffs with sea views from nearly every room. Great watching the weather and ships pass through and the local wildlife. Suggested improvements for 10/10 stay- provide WiFi & clean all external windows to maximise the views which no doubt get a battening from the exposed position.
A really spacious and comfortable house in a central location very close to town and beach. Good parking at rear of property. The house was well equipped and also had lots of thoughtful extras such as toys, selection of DVDs and books and even spare wellies!!!
Hi, we have stayed in this property 3 times now ( 2017, 2019 and 2022 ) and its great, close to my family and close to everything we need. We are from NZ and come to the UK every few years to see family. This property fits the bill nicely and we will be coming again. Thanks again for a great stay. Stuart Tovey
We had a good time in this cottage. It was as the photo's show with everything we needed for our stay. The White Hore Pub in the village served good food which was excellent.
Lovely house in a quiet village. Clean and very nicely modernised. Nice pub and handy shop in walking distance, and good access to the east side of the island. Parking an issue - only space for one car, and this is shared with the neighbour, so you may need to park at the village green.
Wonderful location. Comfortable. great shower room. Tv freeview reception poor but great internet. Had to do a bit of light dusting and bedroom floor needed a vacuum. Unfortunately dishwasher was broken when I tried to use it. A week of hand washing but wouldn't have used much anyway. Dearer than similar properties.
Nostalgic comfortable cottage which was well equipped and spotlessly clean throughout. Very pretty garden which was fully enclosed for my little dog. Short walk to shops and excellent choice of eateries. Wonderful walks from doorstep. Only negative point was the very steep stairs had only one handrail and narrow landing from bedrooms had to be taken with care.
The location of the cottage was lovely and suited us well for the week. Our children loved being on a farm and enjoyed seeing the animals and the tractor. The host well very welcoming. The cottage is well placed to explore the island, especially the south west beaches. The sofa bed was uncomfortable and a little dusty when unfolded (I'm sensitive to dust) but the main bed was fine.
This was my third stay at Seagrove and for me it is just perfect. I will never tire of the view from the back of the property.I hope to return again next year. ..I love it...it us v well appointed and has everything you can wish for for a holiday home
Great location for a seaside family holiday, everything you need close by, amazing seaside town. House was just right, good size and beautiful views from the roof terrace.
The caravan itself was lovely and clean and looked after, but there was so many downsides that we won’t ever be returning there.. the advertisement for the holiday was all bs.. (on site) arcade for kids ❌ laundrette ❌ shop❌ Pub wouldn’t be something many would go in. It advertised bus routes outside of the park but failed to say the bus only runs on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and as we don’t drive this literally ruined out holiday that coupled with having to take laundry all the way into sandown as the “laundrette” didn’t even work. False advertisement at its best so be aware of that. Taxi...more
Booked before Covid struck as 50th Birthday location for the family. Managed to get there for 52nd!! Excellent property with large garden. Great location for exploring the Island. We all enjoyed our time.
We had a very pleasant stay here. Some comments - not as homely- feeling as some places as no pictures/personal touches, & a few games & books would have been appreciated, also more than 1 tea-towel. nb. these are not complaints, & we would certainly go there again.
We found the property to be spacious with plenty of space for the four of us. Location excellent for a sandy/stony beach best for swimming at each side of high tide
Echoing the title - a cosy and comfortable little cottage - very well situated for the ferry and the charming town of Yarmouth. The key safe is old and we had difficulty opening it. This could do with some attention.
One week was just enough in this lovely lodge. Owner left a letter advising of broken item which was nice. Lodge was clean, however some oversights, cobwebs higher up, cleaning above the top ledge on fireplace and above the bed on the ledge in main bedroom. This was rectified by myself by cleaning it! Lodge was spacious too Sadly we only used outside space once however furniture was maintained well.
I stayed elsewhere in Brading the previous year and the experience in a dirty, rundown little cottage made me think very carefully about ever returning to the Island. However, I took a chance with Charnwood Cottage because the photos of the interior and exterior looked so appealing - they didn't really do the cottage justice. Spotlessly clean, well decorated, very comfortable chairs and beds, a well laid out kitchen with everything there that you would need on holiday. A "welcome" selection of little treats and a pint of IOW milk were waiting, which meant a cup of coffee before a short walk d...more
The house has plenty of space and is comfortable and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. The house is clean superficially (clean in visible areas) but the place needs a good deep clean as things like: skirting boards, behind the beds/furniture and outside windows are in need of a thorough clean. The outside windows were filthy and don’t look as if they e been cleaned all year, it does not cost a lot to hire a window cleaner every month. We also had to wash cups, glasses and mugs before we used them as they were not as clean as we would expect with some mugs having old tea/coffee ring ...more
This was our families first time coming to the isle of wight and after this hoilday we will definitely be back. Woodleigh house was amazing it had more than enough space for us all, 4 Adults and 4 kids, it was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. It was in walking distance to the beach which was about 5mins also shops, pubs and the bus stop which was great for people who dont drive.
Lovely location, with some great walks, very hilly and beautiful scenery The property was cosy ,but definitely needs an up grade as its very tired
Lovely location with amazing views. We really enjoyed the balcony. The flat was functional and served its purpose but lacked that home-from-home feel. There was a terribly unpleasant, musty smell from the moment we stepped inside. We tried opening windows to air it and spraying air fresheners, but just couldn't shift the odour. Is there a hidden damp problem somewhere? It didn't help that there is absolutely nowhere to dry wet towels etc and the fan in the bathroom was totally ineffectual. The wifi was very intermittent but probably not a lot the host can do about that. All the...more
Lovely apartment with great views across to Carisbrook castle. Access from parking area is via a steep unmade path which may cause access issues for some. Overall the apartment is modern, spacious and equipped with everything needed. A couple of minor issues e.g. some drawers not closing easily which a bit of simple maintenance would solve. Bedrooms were incredibly warm at night and couldn't seem to get the temperature to stay below 23° via air conditioning. Would not like to have been staying during very hot weather. Issue with bathroom door locking itself shut reported to mai...more
A special character home in a beautiful setting. We absolutely fell in love with the property and the area with the stunning views of the Island. Secluded but close to shops for supplies. We will definitely be staying at Morse Cottage again. Thank you to the staff of Island Holiday Homes for their excellent service and communication!
For us this has been the best property we’ve found on the island. The Undercliff is a beautiful, quiet area well placed for visiting the rest of the island. The coastal path close to the bungalow has excellent views. A very comfortable, spacious place.
had a lovely week in this property, was so relaxing we wished we had booked another week. it may not be a modern property but it had all you would need, with lovely walks from the property. only let down for us was the fact the garden hedge needed cutting back about 1.5 feet so you can see the view when seated.
The Afton was ideally situated for our holiday, only a short walk from both Colwell & Totland beaches. The accommodation was clean & well equipped & we would definitely stay there again
My 4th time staying here, was good to experience it out of the summer season. Everything I needed, warm and cosy. Great service from company too.
This bungalow is a good size, and in a good location. It has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and private outdoor space. Tea, coffee and milk provided, although the milk was out of date! There is a short walk to Carisbrooke village and you can also walk into Newport.
First floor, south facing apartment with magnificent views from lounge and main bedroom over the Ventnor seafront and panoramic sea views. Nice touch were telescope and binoculars for looking at passing shipping. Back bedroom has its own bathroom but poorly lit as looks onto dark lightwell. Nicely furnished, comfortable beds, kitchen equipped with everything you need. On street car parking only. Small supermarkets and local shops 5 minutes walk away
We loved the villa and the location. Unfortunately there is no access to the creek which was disappointing and the only walks were along the road. There is a big childrens' centre next door so very noisy during the day, not peaceful at all. The villa was basically clean except for the downstairs bathroom which had hair on the floor and stuck to the pedestals and a huge spider web in the lounge. The lounge furniture smelt so bad but luckily we didn't have to use it as the weather was good and we sat on the porch. The porch could have done with some shade. Kitchen well equipped and the beds wer...more
This house is spacious and in a great location. It’s comfortable downstairs but way too warm upstairs. No ventilation upstairs as windows don’t open and there are no windows at the back of the house. There are floor standing fans in the bedrooms but thery are very noisy! It’s a shame, as we would have considered staying there again, but it’s just not good for sleeping at night.
