We had a very enjoyable stay at the sea Shack the views were wonderful and the peace and quiet was great. The amenities are with in walking distance. Richard the host had thoughtfully provided everything we could need for our stay. We are looking forward to our next stay there.
The apartment is lovely, well appointed and comfortable. The weather was really chilly when we arrived but the heating was easy to change and we were soon very cosy. The beds were lovely with gorgeous bedding so we slept really well. The sitting room provided comfortable seating and a terrific TV, when we got home and wanted to relax. Plenty of equipment if you wanted to cook, although we did not, other than breakfast. Although there is no view from the apartment itself, it is literally yards round the main house to the sea front. Walking in either direction along flat paths (or on the beach...more
We had a wonderful family holiday at the Duver. Great location on the beach, we could see the sunrise each morning. The hosts are fantastic and so friendly. We just had the best time. I would highly recommend and revisit. Thank you!
We really enjoyed our stay in Bembridge at Harbour View. Plenty of rooms and space, extremely well stocked kitchen with plenty of everything. Very comfortable beds and very clean. Two ample bathrooms. Ray nearby was so helpful and knows the area well. Great value for money and in such a perfect position.
We had a lovely time at the lodge. It was very clean and comfortable. The garden had artificial grass which was good for keeping doggy paws clean but also access to the owners field. We enjoyed seeing all the animals sheep, dogs, horses and alpacas. There was a footpath from the cottage to The Pointer Inn which we visited a couple of times. We travelled all over the island going to pubs, castles and beaches and it was a good base. Owners were very friendly welcoming us but leaving us to ourselves unless we wanted help.
This was a return visit for us, having stayed here the previous year. The location was ideal for us, only a few minutes walk into Shanklin town, and a 5 minute drive to the esplanade. A good base for visiting all the other attractions on the island too. The only minor disappointment, which has nothing to do with the accomodation, is that due to coastal erosion, the footpath steps down to the beach are closed due to landslip. I cannot see this being repaired any time soon, if at all.. Apart from this, the accomodation is very spacious for our part of 4 adults. We only used the kitchen facili...more
Third year running that we have been to clara cottage every thing about the place is good, nice little village, close to holiday resorts, nice village pub..just a shame that we carnt book it for next year(as already booked) very sort after property
From the moment we arrived we knew this was going to be a great place to stay. Good parking, south facing garden and inside was perfect for us. Great range of facilities inside, very modern also quality fixtures and fittings. Nice comfy King size bed and lovely soft towels. We had a great stay on the island we were lucky with the weather though. Lovely Mum and daughter next door who told us some new places to go.
We had the best holiday on the Isle of Wight staying in Southford farm .Ten of us stayed there including 2 children and the house was ideal.the rooms were spacious and comfortable it had everything you need including BBQ lovely kitchen 5 bedrooms and a beautiful garden . It was the perfect base for our holiday . The owner Jacky was very friendly and helpful .Island Holiday Home staff were extremely helpful friendly and very efficient . We will definitely stay there again Thank you
Our second visit to the Stables. A real home from home, very comfortable well equipped and the location in Bembridge is excellent .Would certainly recommend a stay here.
We enjoyed our stay at Little Grosvenor. Ventnor is a good location with good facilities nearby and also plenty to see in the surrounding area. The accommodation had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Once again a very welcoming relaxing stay in this comfortable cottage. We have stayed many times before. It is ideally located for walks to the local beach, Ventnor, Bonchurch Inn and all the facilities in Ventnor.
We loved Jan Dee cottage. While it's not particularly prepossessing from the road, inside it's been beautifully modernised and opens onto a back garden and a bedroom balcony looking out to sea. Handy for Ventnor (which is delightful), the beach and great cliff top walks. It was also a very generous cottage - the owners mentioned it was their own holiday home, and it felt like they really wanted to share it with others. Fantastic for kitchen equipment, and the bedrooms were charming, but note that while it sleeps six, the third bedroom has a bunk bed and is therefore more suitable for children....more
Not enough details of which property we were staying at were given, BUT once located we found the property to be well situated. The property was beautifully decorated, extremly comfortable and very impressive. We particually loved the bathroom.
Views from the cottage are lovely. High standard interior with all the essentials especially with children with the utility room.
The property was central in Ryde with adequate parking. We did have a problem with the Television & had to have an engineer on Monday to retune the set. Also two of the bath towels were heavily soiled but fortunately spares were available. Equipment in the property was otherwise in good condition & no problems.
The house is lovely, a short walk to the beach and other activities. We really enjoyed our stay. The house was so comfortable with lots of space for us all.
We was wowed as soon as we entered this property, bright clean and spacious, the location was perfect, only a short walk to the nearest town, there is also beautiful views on the walk, we loved every minute of our stay at the dickens and we would definitely be coming back.
Very helpfull owners just what customers require, plenty of room to relaxes and enjoy holiday.very central location ,could visit places all around isle easily
Who could ask for a more beautiful location and spacious holiday home to relax and unwind in. Photos exactly as seen and more. The views from the balcony, patios and gardens are fantastic. Quiet and peaceful.
This was our 4th stay at Highlands. Apartment is lovely very spacious and in good condition. Its great location means its easy to get around a short walk to old village or the beach.
We absolutely loved the apartment . It was finished up a very high standard and the location amazing
This has been our 3rd consecutive stay in three years. While it is available to rent so we will keep booking. We are fortunate that we have booked for next year - 2025 and look forward to visiting the island again. As for the stay last week, once again it was a pleasure to walk in and find everything up to its's usual very high standard of accommodation.
This was our second visit to The Beach House and we were as pleased as before - if not more so. The house is in a great location and the benefit of private parking is a real bonus. The accommodation is spacious, clean and comfortable and the views out over Ventnor Bay are delightful. When the weather is kind sitting on the terrace is brilliant. If you want to pick up food items, you have access to the local shops and if you want to dine out, there's a good choice of restaurants, pubs and bistros. It's easy to get around by car or bus so overall Ventnor and especially The Beach House is ...more
We were first time visitors to the Isle of Wight and came across the apartment on Cottages.com. It had the most amazing view over Sandown Bay. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for our weeks stay. It was also in a good location for Shanklin. We would definitely go back there.
My wife and I stayed in Long Ledge for 6 nights in May. Long Ledge is a large detached bungalow with two large bedrooms upstairs both with on-suite and one large bedroom on the ground floor with the bathroom across the hallway, this property is ideally suited for a family of 4 plus grandparents. We particularly enjoyed the raised decking with calming view of the adjacent field and the sea in the background. We are told Bembridge is one of the largest village in England. There are two pubs nearby and they offer good food and are open every day all year round. If you like walking this is the pla...more
A lovely old cottage peaceful and quiet with lovely views…The side garden is especially secluded and quiet, On the negative side parking is not great, The cleaners don’t clean under the furniture or bathroom cabinets as I found out when I dropped something which rolled under Ugh !. But on the whole a lovely place to unwind and enjoy the badgers.
Really clean, everything worked and very quiet. Ideal location, five minute walk to the beach and the single parking space was a godsend as on street parking is at a premium! Fabulous ‘welcome’ pack with toiletries and biscuits galore. Loads of towels and an excellent shower. Thank you for helping make our stay so enjoyable.
Our third visit and we would definitely book again, so that speaks volumes. We love the village feel of St Helens and the location and facilities of The Moorings. Spacious property - plenty of room for 6. Residential neighbours either side so it feels very homely. Future visitors will not be disappointed.
This apartment has everything you could need for a self catering holiday. Location was ideal with a short walk into the old town and short walk and steps to the beach. Ideal base for looking round the rest of the island. The veranda was lovely to sit on although it would be better if a couple of feet was taken off the trees as this blocked the view slightly. We will definitely return in the future. Shanklin is a lovely village with excellent restaurants.
Our third visit to Hilltops really says it all. A lovely bungalow with everything you need for a self catering holiday. There is a bus stop down the road with a fantastic service, to Ventnor, Newport Shanklin or places inbetween. Some good walks straight from your front door, over the Downs to Ventnor, along the old railway track to Shanklin or over the Downs to Godshill. Super restaurants in Ventnor, just five minutes by bus. In other words the perfect holiday home, and considering our summer this year we struck it lucky weather wise!
Low Tide Loft is in a wonderful location and is very spacious. The views are beautiful and there is easy access to the coast. The downstairs bathroom door lock was very stiff and could do with being loosened.
a good value for money property in a ideal setting very quiet with excellent views.if we went back to isle of wight would possibly book again.
We really enjoyed our time at Willows. Set in the countryside, it is a quiet and peaceful location surrounded by farmlands. The owner was very friendly and it is within short travelling distance of all the features of the island.
There are no negatives at Hope House, from location to quality fixtures and fittings. This lovely home was immaculately clean upon arrival and has the added bonus of a very helpful neighbor who made parking so much easier.
Beautiful place to stay . Lovely views . Clean and well decorated through out. Could do with a hot tub .. and a welcome basket with IOW goods..
Lovely cottage , very well furnished throughout in keeping with the period. Everything you would need provided within the cottage. Very comfortable and cosy. The gardens are beautiful and very well kept.
Terrific views from the front of the house. House up a very steep slope from the parking which is at road level. Also a number of steep steps to negotiate. Bathroom very small and the toilet not ventilated in any way. Large number of collectables throughout the house, very steep rear garden. Not suitable for people with mobility issues.
Our second stay at this lovely cottage, everything for a perfect holiday has been catered for from indoors to outdoors. Loved the table tennis. The master bedroom was excellant, sunny and warm. The staff were lovely and our clean bedding was provided as requested. We are looking forward to our next visit in 2025.
Property located in a lovely location, quiet but accessible to all main routes also 5 minutes drive to Tesco extra which is very handy. Situated on a very clean private site Molly's Lodge was very well presented. First holiday with our doggy, you wouldn't of known that it was a pet friendly lodge as no doggy smells. Treats left for doggy and provided doggy blankets which is a nice touch. Quality outdoor furniture provided on veranda, with lovely views as South facing, so nice to sit with a cool drink or cuppa after a day of exploring. Great choice of white goods, dishwasher, washer. Good...more
St.Catherine's View is 3 minutes from the sea and 10 minutes from town centre with shops and restaurants, so very well situated. Beds were extremely comfortable, cottage was warm and watertight with great view to sea, and had all the facilities we needed. There was no "How to use it" manual for devices, heating etc. but we managed anyway. All in all a good experience, and good value for money.
Insignia is a great place to stay, it gives you a great base from which to explore the island and is ideally situated for the shops, bars & restaurants in Cowes town. The property is well maintained and is very clean. The bathroom is a real treat with a lovely walk in shower and a big bath. The bedrooms are all fine and we found the bed to be very comfortable. The stairs are a bit tight, as was the parking spot but we quickly got used to them both and they didn’t cause us any issues. Cows is a great place and all the pubs and restaurants were very welcoming, I would particularly recommend ...more
Another fantastic holiday at Beach Side. Already booked for next year. Had a couple of issues but have been advised that these are being resolved. Excellent service from Island Holiday Homes. Can’t fault the view and sunrises to die for. The house holds a special place in our hearts.
We found the cottage to be just as described. The cottage is well located to get onto all major roads of the island. Located close but outside of Shanklin, giving access to all of the conveniences in the village, after a very short and pleasant walk. The area is extremely quite, with plenty of pleasant walks in the area. every thing in the cottage was in really good condition, however the four chairs provided to sit out on the grass, were very poor quality and unstable. Perhaps they could be upgraded. Other than the chairs, we found the cottage, the interior and fitments excellent.
The house was the highlight of our stay on IOW - spacious, beautifully furnished but had a lived in feel, so we felt relaxed. 2 families and dog fitted perfectly. Lovely linen and towels, plenty of hot water bathrooms, kitchen equipment etc. would recommend and also come again.
We had a lovely time in Shanklin at Lyndean. It had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay.
We stayed at Villa Amanti for two weeks. The location is perfect right opposite the beach with the luxury & convenience of your own parking space . Couple of pubs/restaurants literally next door. The villa itself needs just a tiny bit of tlc…there’s a damp patch on the kitchen ceiling, the drainpipe outside needs a new bracket attaching it to the wall. A gate in the small fence by the seating area would be very helpful too. The people upstairs weren’t there until our last night but it is quite noisy when they’re there but I suppose given the age of the building there’s not much soundproofing! ...more
A fabulous cottage. We were delighted with the location, and how well equipped the cottage was. The cabin by the creek was lovely and also a surprise as to how well it was equipped. We had planned to use this as a base whilst visiting places around the island, but cut some trips out so we could send more time in the cottage, garden and cabin.
I had a lovely stay in a beautiful village with amazing weather beautiful beaches and countryside I would definitely recommend
We had a great stay at Bella Vista. Great balcony with sea views. Very quiet and comfortable. The only down side is its quite a steep walk up from the coast. We know Ventnor so we drove down and found free parking. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.
The best place on iow, superb views and an excellent place to explore the island. Island holiday homes is also very good in the communication. We been here for the 4th time, highly recommend!
Lovely comfortable house with all that you need for a family, in a great location in St Helens. The house was very clean, the beds were very comfortable and the shower was amazing, I would certainly return again. If I were to be picky, the chest of drawers in the main bedroom looks nice but is not practical to use, the wardrobe is very narrow in this room so you can't house many items in there, so we kept our clothes in the suitcase for the week, which isn't ideal. If a more practical chest of drawers was added to this room it would certainly help.
Our second visit to this lovely, well appointed property and unlikely to be our last. The house is very modern inside and has so many thoughtful touches it makes for the perfect holiday home. Beds and sofas are of good quality and comfortable, the lounge, garden and balcony all offer clear views out to sea and if the weather isn’t so kind there is a nice, airy conservatory to relax in. The house also benefits from a well appointed kitchen, utility room and offers a choice of bath or shower rooms, again all built to an excellent standard. The only downside to Pointe South is that the garden i...more
This was a last minuet booking booking with two dogs and four adults. The location was excellent next door to the pub Dairymans Daughter who are very friendly and do excellent food with the bonus of 10% off if you are staying in Lavender cottage , but do tell them when going to the bar !!. There are Arreton Barns around the pub which are small individual units selling sweets , blown glass object, doggie things , leather goods and much much more . As for dog walks couldnt have been better .... the downs within walking distance , fields , lanes all secure for off lead runs !! our two had the ti...more
We had an enjoyable stay at Tennyson Cottage. It is conveniently situated with good parking. The house itself is comfortable and although on a small estate we found it very quiet. Having a garden was a bonus as the weather was particularly warm while we were there and it was nice to sit outside in the evenings.
The house provided a perfect vacation stay for three generations of family. The location of the house was perfect for Sandown and was only a 2 1/2 minute walk to the beach. There is sufficient parking off road for 1 large car and on street parking available for any additional visitors. The house was very well presented and very clean and tidy. There was plenty of cutlery, plates and glasses etc and a washing machine and dishwasher. The view from the roof terrace was fantastic and the teenage kids made the most of the games consul and second lounge area in the roof. Would definitely try and sta...more
Nice location lovely view across the solent could see the main land on a good day very handy for a visit to Cowes, parking for one car can be a bit difficult at times if you have a large car .
Rofford Lodge is definitely one of the best self-catering places we have stayed in (and there have been many!). It is spacious and bright, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. We all felt instantly at home. The welcome basket was very generous, including both goodies and practical supplies. The garden was alive with wildlife (including red squirrels and kestrels), and the lodge is directly opposite a nature reserve and a footpath along the former railway line to one of our favourite eateries, ‘Off The Rails’. It is also a very short walk to the seafront. All in all, Rofford Lodge was pe...more
Had a fabulous stay. Perfect location, lovely views, all our needs catered for. Would have liked WiFi and the toilet to be larger but realise the confines of an older bungalow. Otherwise perfect, even had a badger visiting nightly, wonderful to watch.
We have stayed in many holiday lets over the years. The owners have thought of everything we couldn’t find anything that we didn’t want. It’s advertised for 2 cars can park you can only get one medium size car on the drive but the park with parking is only a short walk away. The house is extremely clean. The location isnt the centre of the Isle of Wight which we knew before coming this didn’t bother us as we had a vehicle but there is a bus stop just across the road. The house didn’t come with a welcome pack to get you started but they a village shop approximately 3 minute walk away. We will d...more
The accommodation tho cosy needs a lot of attention. Wardrobe doors barely functioned and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The ground floor suffered from damp and the smell was unpleasant. The location was good as it related to visiting other places/areas but the adjacent chain bridge was noisy, started at 5am and with minimum sound proofing, led to disturbed sleep. The bathroom was small but functional although the bath needs an anti slip mat. On a more positive note, a few supplies had been left for our arrival and this was greatly appreciated.Whilst we enjoyed our stay in general, the c...more
A lovely holiday home with everything close to hand, the Zoo is 10 minutes walk in one direction and the Pier 10 minutes in the other via the beach or following the road, supermarkets are also an easy walk along the high street and the beach is literally across the road, the property is lovely with everything you could need and of course off street parking, In fact we enjoyed our stay so much we booked for next year while we were there.
This was our 5th time staying at 20 Bellevue Road ( 2017, 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024 ). We visit from New Zealand to see family on the Isle of Wight and this is our go to accommodation when staying on the island. It's close to transport, beach, family and we love it and will be back again for sure.
We had a good time in this cottage. It was as the photo's show with everything we needed for our stay. The White Hore Pub in the village served good food which was excellent.
Sandown on the Creek was lovely, well equipped and very comfy. With lovely views across the creek. We love visiting the Isle of Wight, to see our 'family' and this location was perfect, as they live close by.
Had a very lovely stay, a very nice apartment, beautiful view in a quiet location. Only the shower needs an update, low pressure
The house is as pictured, very attractive and well situated with a huge garden. The downstairs rooms are well furnished with a comfortable lived in look which we liked. Kitchen equipment is the best we have ever had. Plenty of bathrooms for extended family totalling 10 of us. One of the kitchen door locks played up soon after we arrived and was very professionally dealt with by Island H. Homes which impressed. Be aware that although dogs are permitted garden is not dog secure if they have any chance of wandering off. The boundaries are too extensive for dog proofing to be realistic. M...more
The cottage is very nice with a great location, lovely garden and very comfortable. A little quirky here and there which just adds to the charm. One minor issue is that the TV aerial needs looking at as some tv channels were missing. We left our car in the drive all week and explored the island by bus, boat and on foot.
We had a lovey stay at Wilbercote. I would happily recommend to friends and family. Great location to go to the beaches and explore local walks and only 5mins walk to the local shops and Barbosa (highly recommend for a chilled cocktail evening not far from the house). Lovely quiet house to come back to and relax with a private garden and large communal kitchen / seating area downstairs. The property had a lovely relaxed feel.
Lovely location.Cottage has everything.Have been here 3 times now .Needs a knew key box which the owner is aware of. Will return. Thank you for the welcome pack much appreciated.
What a beautiful house in a beautiful location. The only negative point was a slight problem with the cleanliness. We had to clean the fridge and the living room carpet could do with a good clean.
Kitchen equipment spartan with just two of each item and no tin opener or oven gloves. No inf on area; maybe in main house but there was no interior connection so was cut off from daughter and family. Better if sole annexe access thoigh side kitchen door made clear in on line details Tv remote faulty at start but shuffled batteries and then OK.Bedroom fine; like the low level bed unable to use shower; grip handles would have been helpful in bathroom. overall pleasant accomodation for single or couple wishing to be close but not too close to rest of family!
Attractively situated in a pictureque environment which was quiet and restful. The cottage was very well equipped. A nice touch was the welcoming gift of milk . Very happy with everything.
The cottage was lovely for a week away with my 2 children. It was well equipped and nicely setup - and great location for walking around locally as well as easy to explore the rest of the island. Would definitely stay again.
Conveniently located and roomy holiday home. Quiet location although near centre of town. Clean and comfortable beds and sofas. Good-sized, well-appointed kiichen-dining room with table to seat 8. Bathroom would have benefitted from an over-bath shower to augment the other shower room as with five adults and one 10-year old it was quite a scramble for the shower each morning We had a problem getting dishwasher going but this was quickly addressed by the owner and problem solved satisfactorily.
I think all necessary areas have been covered. We enjoyed our stay in this spacious, comfortable, well equipped and well situated property. I have already completed a questionnaire for Feefo. I usually avoid these reviews because they are too pushy - trying to force responses where one one has nothing relevant to say. Making answers compulsory is ridiculous. I should be able to submit as many or as few as I wish.
This could be fantastic holiday accommodation if some love was put into it. It’s basic and doesn’t have any homely touches, not a single picture on the wall, 1 lamp in the whole house, everywhere just has spot lights making it feel cold. The kitchen has seen better days but is equipped with what you need. We did enjoy our time on the island and the house is well located in Ventnor but it doesn’t make you want to spend much time in it. The garden is the same as the house, bare and cold, such a shame as it has a great view, you could spend a lot of time enjoying it if it just had a few plants,...more
A lovely apartment. Fantastic views lovely gardens and good location and plenty of car parking space. The only issue we had was wardrobe space The wardrobe in the 2nd bedroom was a child's wardrobe and wasn't tall enough for adult clothing and the wardrobe in the main bedroom was full of stuff leaving very little space. Some of the furniture was old and tired and could do with replacing
Generally very good. Weak spots were (1) no WiFi (2) parking limited, and when visitors came this provoked (presumably) a complaint from a neighbour re 'parking on the grass' (we were about 2 feet on the grass). No sure about recommendations (below) - 'yes' in some cases, 'no' in others. Perhaps 'yes' for short stays, 'no' for longer stays. We stayed for four weeks. One visitor commented on the 'lack of community', and another saw an opportunity for a small community shop on the park.
The location and the size of the property are excellent and can not be faulted. What really let's it down though is the standard of cleanliness, dusty skirting boards, build up of dust and fur under sofas, kitchen cupboard doors needs a good scrub. We didn't let it effect our stay as the house was just a place to sleep and have the occasional evening meal. Beds are ok, again showing signs of wear and pillows need replacing. Overall we still had a great time and would still recommend to people.
A large property that has not had much updating since it was built. Well equipped and most things worked well, although I suspect it might have taken an entire day to run a bath! Pleasant grounds. Would be a very economical place for a large family
Lovely big house and garden with plenty of room for families. Well equipped. Bedrooms lovely and with sea views. Living room adequate. Parking really only for one car unless 2 small. Could do with better house services details e.g. heating instructions!
6th stay here, and 7th already booked! Has everything you could need, lots of space, close to the beach and a great little supermarket.
The apartment itself was good, the site dismal!! The view shown is from the bedrooms. The frontage/entrance is of an abandoned, overgrown and litter strewn building site! The restaurant still being advertised is long since closed. Very disappointed and feel the advertising is dishonest.
Nice quirky cottage with plenty of space for the two of us, including two bathrooms, and courtyard space to the front and back. The bed was comfy and heating and hot water plentiful when needed, also Wi-fi and Sky TV. Convenient location for walking in to Ventnor and also Steephill Cove and the Botanic Gardens, either along the cliff path or the road.
We had a marvellous stay at 3 Elizabeth House Ventnor. What great views of the sea and what comfort because everything you need was there. It was also very close to shops. In other words: a perfect place!
The house and garden have great potential and the location is good in terms of the village and the whole island. Whilst the accommodation is spacious, the layout of rooms and furnishings meant that we spent a great part of our time in one or two rooms. The front downstairs rooms are not comfortably furnished. The kitchen is good in terms of size but was under-equipped for the number in the house. The oven and stove were unreliable, although the owners attended to the problems by the following day. The majority of the bedrooms are comfortable. The garden has potential but this is not maximised ...more
