Had a great time at this wonderful cottage. Very close to everything but lovely and peaceful surroundings in the evening, especially loved the wood burner. Had everything we needed, and our dog Jess loved it too! Thank you for a great place to stay, would definitely go again.
Great location in st Helens village, next to the shop/post office/coffee shop.Easy access to local beach or travel to Ryde ,Sandown no problem. The cottage is very comfortable, all mod cons that you need, and easily sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms.Comfy beds and plenty of fresh clean towels. The locals are very friendly and helpful, good local pub and restaurants.Ive been coming to the island for the last 20 years and this is one of the best accommodation we have stayed in. I would recommend Clara cottage to anyone wanting comfortable accommodation with off street parking and a great touring base
We returned to Chine House Apartment after a 4 or 5 year gap and we have to say it did not disappoint. The extra little touches that the owners provide to welcome you are a real treat. The accommodation is an absolute delight to stay in with a really comfortable bed that you don't want to get out of. This place provides all the comforts of home in an ideal location that is both quiet and perfectly situated for all that the local area has to offer.
The apartment was adequate for two adults and two children, close to local amenities etc. Plenty of places to eat and visit in Shanklyn.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kenmore Cottage, and highly recommend it as a base for an Island holiday. Great location for the beach and town. Accomodation roomy enough for 7, including 3 older children who enjoyed their own sitting room. I can't think of anything the owners hadn't thought of, and we have already booked for next summer.
Long Ledge Bembridge is the perfect holiday home for a family and room to take extra guests too. A bonus is having two en-suite in the upstairs bedrooms and an extra bathroom downstairs for the adjacent bedroom. Very comfortable in all respects. Everything anyone could wish for is provided for in the kitchen. Garden is beautiful with a raised patio which is perfect for enjoying all meals during the day and is a suntrap all day long. Five minutes walk to the beach and a great pub and restaurant.
The apartment on the first floor was spacious and had large windows with lovely panoramic views over the countryside. The furnishings and equipment were of a very good standard and the location enabled easy access to all parts of the island. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The owners were very helpful
Thank you for a lovely stay at Fernwood cottage. Really clean throughout. We enjoyed eating meals outside most times, as we were lucky enough to have great weather. Bonchurch is beautiful and secluded. Thanks again for the nice welcome treats.
We were so pleased we picked this spot. The flat is beautiful, the location was lovely and the host was brilliant. Couldn't recommend it enough.
We returned for another visit to this lovely house at the Marina - wonderful! We traveled with 3 generations so the size of the house and the number of bathrooms was essential and once again, we were taken by the beautiful house and the comfy set up. Sitting on the veranda in the evening with a glass of wine and watch the sun set is absolute bliss! Thanks for the bubbly - nice touch again! We will return
We had a very comfortable stay. The Stables is well equipped with a nice outdoor area. Picturesque location near the yacht/boat haven. Close to visitor attractions of Robin Hill Country Park and Monkey Haven which were nice places to visit. Big supermarket within 12 minutes drive. Great access for sandy beaches. Well recommended.
The house was clean. It had toys, and entertainment items which was great for the kids. The kitchen was very well equipped. The hosts left us a lovely postcard and bottle of wine to welcome us which was very thoughtful. Ideal location for the beach and exploring. Could not fault it.
The apartment is new and modern and very well furnished. The kitchen has the latest equipment such as a combination oven and microwave. The living area has a very comfortable 3 seat sofa with a view that is as good as you can get. The bedroom has a king size bed with quality bedding and towels. The bathroom has a basin and shower as is a wet room. There are no downsides to the property provided you consider that it is on the 3rd floor and access is by stairs.
We really enjoyed our stay at Byde Cottage we found the house in very good order indeed the garden and decking were both very large and the grandchildren had so much space to run around without problems. As adults we very much loved the Wetland area setting the wildlife and the wonderful views back to the mainland. Walks in the morning and at sunset were the preferred times the geese and grey mullet in the salt marshes made it a very special place indeed. Two larger and more comfy beds in the main bedrooms would be our personal choice but that’s all we could say other than that it was a super...more
Great bungalow in a quiet location but not too far from all amenities. Lovely owners. V accommodating. Friendly and helpful. On hand if needed but not obtrusive. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage.
We had a great time in Ventnor at the Overlook. The view is amazing and it was a lovely property all round.
A decent size bedroom with plenty of space either side. The open plan kitchen/ dining/ living room was just the right size for us too. Due to the weather we hardly ever sat outside but that looked a nice size too. Little extras were nice too, such as being able to buy eggs from a small store on site. A just under 15 mins walk via the footpath at the back took us to one end of the village whilst walking via the track at the front for a similar length of time took us to the other end of the village. Godshill has plenty of tea rooms and 3 pubs of which we used 2 (The Griffin and the Taverners, t...more
Idyllic property, great location with stunning views. Every need anticipated and accommodated from storage space to kitchen utensils. Spacious inside with great garden for children. We will definitely return
We could not have asked for a better fortnight’s holiday. The location and superb weather helped, but I’m struggling to think of anything different that I would have wanted in the Hayloft. There isn’t a washing machine in the house, but there is a communal washing machine a few yards from the front door, and we didn’t go on holiday to do washing. We’ll most definitely be going back.
The Cottage is in an ideal position in Ryde. It is close to everything but very peaceful. It is well equipped and very clean. The only thing it lacked was a pair of curtains or a black out blind in the twin bedroom, as it was very light in the morning, waking you up really early.
The apartment had everything we needed and the views from the decking were wonderful. The gardens were lovely and we saw plenty of wildlife.
This is our second visit to Yew Tree Apartment One this year and it was just as fantastic as the first. The apartment was warm, excellently furnished and contained everything that we needed. As always, Shirley and Ian (the on-site owners) were friendly and helpful. We’re looking forward to next year’s visit.
Central to everything on the island and on the edge of the grounds of Arreton Barns, Lavender Cottage has everything you could possibly need, The large garden was perfect as we took our spaniel. There are stunning walks right on the doorstep. It was great for us with the dog as The Dairymans Daughter pub is dog friendly (as is almost anywhere on the island). The cottage can sleep five which would be fine in good weather when you are out and about most of the day but a little tight if you plan on spending a lot of time inside (but why would you with so much to do on your doorstep?). We love...more
After a previous holiday in Ventnor we decided to arrange another family holiday there as there are many attractions on the island for us and the children. The house was very well furnished, there was plenty of space for us all, 2 cars, 4 adults and two young children. The garden with its views over the sea was ideal for the adults to relax and the children to run around on the lawn. We did walk into Ventnor one day, but it is a long climb back up to the house, so the rest of the time we used our cars. The kitchen was well equipped with a large fridge/freezer which easily took all our on-line ...more
the highland apartments are good place to stay in the isle of wight .they are clean and modern with plenty of places to eat close by, and lots of things to do on the seafront at shanklin .
Very good property and location .had no trouble finding it and the location was excelent with good views .would stay again and was ideal for our familly
We had a great holiday at Meadow View and we much appreciated the flexibility shown by the hosts in allowing us early access. Its situation on the outskirts of Newport means nowhere on the island is more than 15 miles away and can be driven to in half an hour or less. A car makes life easy and parking outside is easy. For the fit the town centre and the supermarkets are walkable distance, as are buses. As pensioners, we opted for the ground floor apartment to make life easier for us, though the outside view is quite restricted - you can see a distant meadow though! Meadow View was very cl...more
we had a fantastic holiday in Ryde iow our 2nd stay at yew tree apartments and its like our little holiday home we have already booked up again for next year we love it there the owners Ian and Shirley are great they live along side the apartments and are lovely people and the grounds that surround are great too you see red squirrels foxes and we seen a bat one night if you are in to wild life its the place to stay we love it and then you have all the different places to visit and lovely beaches all over the iow Its brilliant
We have never stayed in a house before , it’s always been a caravan . Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home . We wanted for nothing , everything we needed was there and more . Thank you again
This cottage with it's unbelievable view, at the waters edge. Spend evenings enjoying one of the two balconys. With a glass of wine and a good book, or simply watch the sailing. Anchor cottage has a well equipped kitchen. Nice to have both Dish washer as well as a washing machine. Beds are sooo comforortable. RECOMEND this holiday home.
A very enjoyable week at the Old Barn. Our toddler grandson and daughter and son in law had the upstairs bedrooms which worked out well and my husband and myself and son had the downstairs. Had not been to IOW for 11 years and did not want to leave!! Will definitely return hopefully next year. The Barn had good facilities but ate out most of the time so only used basic equipment. James coming up for 3 liked the ducks and chickens. Clothes airer supplied but would have been good to have a rotary line as sometimes bit windy to put airer out. This only something minor.
Well equipped house in quiet but convenient location. Close to town, beaches, attractions and public transport links.
In summary, Beechwood is well situated in Ryde, just on the edge so you get a very peaceful experience. The cottage and grounds are lovely, everything you need is included in this modern and well kept property. It was perfect for five of us with two dogs, with a big enclosed garden and some great short walks from the property to stretch the dogs (and our) legs.
An excellent property with wonderful sea views and a lovely garden on various different levels. All mod cons provided. The very steep hilly location at the top of the cliff is a bit challenging if you don’t drive, however we should have thought more about that as we know the Island well and have visited many times previously. Island Holiday Homes service was excellent as usual!
Quiet location. Lovely views over Sandown Bay which can be seen from kitchen window and balcony. Warm well equipped apartment. Comfortable beds. Great place for walkers, the coastal path is just in front of apartment building. Easy reach of Shanklin beach although there are quite a few steps leading down. We stayed from 23rd March to 30th March 2019 and had lovely weather all week, sunshine everyday. We really enjoyed out stay.
Lovely homely apartment very suitable for 4 people. Modern oven which took a lot of getting used to. Initially grill in the oven hadn't been cleaned but 'phoned office who immediately got someone to come out and rectify. Advantage of having an allocated parking space.
This appt. is certainly stylish and high spec, but for a holiday let it's sadly lacking a lot of basics. There is no hairdryer, and though there is no mention of one on the web page, I can't remember the last time we took a holiday let that did not provide one ,no shaver point, no tumblers. only wine glasses, no broom to keep the lovey wooden floors crumb free, only a dustpan and brush, there is a large hoover (Henry) which was not easy to get out of the wardrobe in a very cluttered bedroom, and because dogs are welcome, (which of course we knew,) it smelled dreadfully when switched on. The sa...more
Second time staying at this property, which is a great size and feels home from home and is well equipped with a safe and enclosed garden, which the dog enjoys.
This was our third visit - 6 adults, 4 children aged from 10 years to 3 months. Great configuration for family time downstairs and an excellent garden for young children. The location means that you can walk to local supermarket, to the village where there is a very good butcher, Woodfords, good places to have coffee or meals and very good bakery. Also a fish shop and a farm shop. In the other direction you can walk to the beach and the lifeboat station. There is a good bus service at the end of the road. The No. 8 accepts OAP passes. The tourist buses don’t.
A decent size property in a great location let down by a few things. Many of these have already been highlighted by previous tenants in the visitors book, some over a year ago. Double bed too small & uncomfortable, lack of long mirrors, insufficient towel rails, insufficient hangers, no coat hooks in the entrance hall, various lights not working, supplied torches need batteries
Really nice place would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a quiet place to stay on the Isle of Wight.
good views of the solent excelient position very well laid out but expect some disruption on parade opposite from construction of facilities for Cowes week during the 2 weeks in july /august before the event
Good location. Convenient for many attractions. Basic bit comfortable. Garden ok, not private though, no garden furniture out. Parking wasn't the best.
Beautiful fairy tale cottage. Fantastic garden . Cosy, comfortable 'a home from home' . A stone's throw from wonderful walks and stunning beaches.
We had a lovely holiday in Rosley House! Just a couple of minutes from the sea and restaurants. Would def recommend it!
Beach Side is a wonderful place for a holiday, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The views were stunning, the house was absolutely amazing we Wonderful dining area where you can just look out across the sea ad watch life go by. I would recommend this property for somewhere to get away from it all
Have stayed several times at quay West. It is just what we want. Can stay in and admire the beautiful views over the Solent, or go out and return to a comfortable apartment. We live in the country so sea view perfect. Everyone extremely helpful if needed. Will be back next year. We just love it.
The Cottage is very well located it is well equipped and like home from home my only criticism is I think it could do with a coffee table in the lounge as there is no where to put a drink of an evening
A perfect hideaway for the Isle of Wight. Perfect location and views. Having your own jetty and beach hut to go fishing/crabbing was magical for the family. So dog friendly with enclosed garden. Would stay again. Have to provide own baby cot and high chair but was not a problem for us.
If we holidayed on the Isle of Wight again it would have to be at the TRELAWNEY. We travelled around the island and Ventnor is our preferred location, and within Ventnor, Trelawney is ideally located. It has superb views and a good off road parking spot which is a must as parking spots were scarce. The property has everything you need and is home from home. I cannot justify giving less than excellent for all the categories. As regards the island, we thoroughly enjoyed walking to both Steep hill cove and Shanklin but you need to be reasonably fit. We also enjoyed a visit to Osborne House....more
Great weekend on the Isle of Wight. Moor Farm is walking distance along a wide bridleway to the village of Godshill with shops, pubs, restaurants and tea shops, or go along the bridleway in the other direction and see several miles of just countryside. So you can either feel as though you are close to amenities or in the middle of nowhere - best of both. Bridleway used by walkers, cyclists and horses - we even saw a pony and trap. There are activities available on the farm, but we just enjoyed the peace and quiet. Well equipped unit with all you need and a lovely outside area with BBQ and...more
The brewhouse was a lovely place to stay. However, we were staying with young children and the house contained many fragile ornaments. It was a steep downhill walk to the seaside but the kids really enjoyed the beach.
It's a lovely house, well equipped and in a convenient location, sadly however our stay was marred by a few issues. The master bedroom bedding had not been changed on our arrival leaving a visible discolouration to the pillows and sheets from the previous occupants, unfortunately, we failed to spot this until late evening when we headed to bed. Discovering the "out of hours" support number is only available for just a few hours on Friday and Saturday evenings we had little choice to spend a quite disgusting night using dirty bedding and the first day of our holiday washing and drying it our...more
Enjoyed our stay, just an observation … the mattresses need replacing , they are too soft , but other than that all ok, would stay again, hopefully next year !!
This is the perfect cottage to stay in with a family, there was plenty of room and also lots of extra activities for the kids. Would love to come back.
We had a very happy stay at Daisy cottage. It’s the best equipped holiday let that we have ever stayed in. The parking was a problem particularly at the weekend but we did always manage to find somewhere to park if not on the street in the car park. It’s a very clean welcoming place to stay and our children loved it too.
The property was as described on the website. Better location instructions would have been good as Alverstone Road is a long road of un-numbered properties. There was ample parking for the three cars we had with us. The property was clean and comfortable for our stay. But there are a number of improvements that would make the property even better and more suitable for young families: - The room with the single beds had very light curtains and no blinds. It would be good to have a black out blind or at least darker curtains we resorted to pegging up a blanket to keep the kids in bed a bit long...more
Great place to stay and great location. A couple of things to consider that would be an advantage is 1. Parking for two cars would be great as one of us had to park a couple of streets away. 2. A hoover would be great especially with children. We felt awful that we couldn’t hoover a little mess that the children had left. Overall a great place
This is a fabulous apartment right on the beach glorious views and with its own secure parking. The apartment is spacious beautifully presented we had an amazing g stay and would definitley book again
Lovely 2 bed cottage, light and modern, very well equipped and brilliant location, just minutes walk from centre of Newport. Would stay here again.
Wilbercote is quite possibly the best equipped holiday rental which we have ever had. We usually do 2 or 3 per year and have done for a very long time. It was a delight, at long last, to find, scissors, sharp knives and a knife sharpener - the three things which we invariably have to recommend at almost all other rentals. We were a bit puzzled that there seemed a lack of crockery for a family of six as you would need to put the dishwasher on daily and there seemed to be only 2 large wineglasses. The coffee mugs were also quite stained and either need a mega clean or replacing. Some kitch...more
great views of the Solent to watch cruise ships leaving Southampton , ferry's arriving and sailing races . around a 15 minute walk into Cowes along the promenade to get to pubs and restaurants , the allocated parking at the back of the property is a great.
The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The hosts (next door) were very helpful and the location was excellent for exploring.
This is a super property for a larger group to stay in. Very good facilities. Clean and comfortable. Fantastic garden for children to play. A delightful hamper of fruit and easter goodies awaited us. Milk, eggs, butter, bacon etc was also provided. So many thanks for those. Very much appreciated. A great location for all activities in the area. The Yarbridge pub nearby is a must. Excellent food at reasonable prices, but you may have to book as it is extremely popular.
This is our 3rd year staying at seagulls for 3 weeks at a time. There are always 8 of us there with 2 members of the family coming for weekends in the sofa room. We love seagulls mainly for the location right on the beach and the spacious seaview rooms. A couple of issues on arrival, the cleaners hadn't been and the bed slats and door handles were broken. These handles had broke on us last year upstairs so think they need to think about changing them. But as usual a quick phone call to the agents and they sent an army of cleaners in so we didn't have to wait to long and we occupied ourselv...more
This house is in a great location for Bembridge Harbour with brilliant beaches just a stones throw away. It is also a great location for Bembridge Village and all the wonderful shops and facilities. The garage was a great asset, very well equipped with toys, chairs etc - it was also a secure storage area for our bikes. The bedrooms were a great size and there was certainly plenty of room to sleep 9 people. However, the linen had obviously not been dried properly in the past and had a musty unpleasant smell to it. We were there for two weeks and there was a midweek linen change although we...more
A nice short break in West Wight, very enjoyable. House and garden as expected although an independent downstairs lavatory would have been appreciated. Otherwise all very good.
The house in its self is okay for the price. The local neighbors living to the rear of the property were shouting , swearing and threatening each other on two occasions as we took our children to the car with language I cannot write online. Bed linen and towels are not provided which we found out only after booking through the Hoseasons web site, Really! its not camping. There is no shower in the main 1st floor bathroom only a mixer tap. The only shower is on the second floor in the en suite. This shower was showing a great deal of age and was clearly installed some time ago, was ra...more
A very comfortable stay in a good location. We had all had a lovely time on the isle of wight looking forward to coming back
This house is a beautiful holiday base, we were very impressed from the minute we arrived. There was plenty of room for the six of us to relax in after spending a day on the beach. The kitchen was really very well equipped, everything we needed was there. We will definitely book this property on our next visit to the Island.
Location was fantastic, good base to access the island. Beach 5 minute walk and lovely for early morning walk. House was lovely well presented and spacious for six of us.
The accommodation was excellent value for money. The bungalow is in quiet surroundings, and lovely sunny patio areas. There is everything you need too hand. The only down side is, there is only one walk in shower room.
Really lovely place to stay in Ryde, within less than 5 minutes walk from the beach and nearby restaurants. Stayed here last year too, and will no doubt be back again next year.
This was a gem of a find. It's a quirky cottage with a secure, walled garden and it's own parking space. The kitchen is small but well equipped. The two downstairs rooms were furnished with some lovely old furniture, it won't be to everybody's taste but it was ours. The stairs are steep but this is quite common in local properties. A large bathroom is accessed through the main bedroom, the second bedroom has two single beds. There is the bonus of a downstairs cloakroom. The cottage is advertised as being suitable for up to four people but personally I think it would feel over crowded. W...more
A lovely, spacious and comfortable place to stay, boasting excellent views of the sea. Great for a big group or family.
We have just returned from our week at The Surrey holiday park. 1 adult 3 children. The location was very central (I drive), the site was clean and safe, the caravan was nice and the staff couldn’t have been more approachable (many thanks to them). We all had a very pleasant stay.
Lovely place to stay. Short walk to shops and pier. Loved the balcony and the apartment was well equipped. Would definitely stay here again. Great holiday.
We really enjoyed our stay at Seagrove a beautifully appointed bungalow in a lovely position. We loved Ventnor and enjoyed exploring the area.
We were a family of 10, three generations. The house, garden, beds and linen/towels provided were all good. The kitchen is overstocked with the owners personal possessions, and we had to find and separate a set of plates and cutlery on the first day to use for the week. There are also too many personal possessions in some of the rooms leaving very little space for the guests. It feels like you are staying in someone else's home rather than a holiday home, we felt that the pricing should reflect this. Sadly the house does not live up to it's 4* rating (on cottages.com). The kitchen was not very...more
Our stay at The Old Signal House was just perfect. The location is stunning and in such a unique position. A lovely walk via the coastal path takes you to the nearest village of Niton which was a little gem. We sampled Joe's Bar / Post Office for some fabulous pizza and beer, also tried the Buddle and the White Lion which were both very good. The latter we went for a birthday meal and had an excellent night. The Old Signal House itself is a restoration of an original telecommunications outlet which has been restored superbly. The bedrooms all had ensuites which were contemporary and clean. The...more
We had a lovely stay at Avalon! It had a good amount of space for the 5 of us and a very pretty garden to sit out in. A good location with the shop just up the road, off-road parking and near the bus stop. The kitchen was very well stocked with lots of pots and pans and utensils! A lovely welcome having bread, milk and butter provided. We were very lucky with the weather and had sunshine the whole week for our stay! We would definitely return.
A lovely apartment with the most amazing views. The apartment had everything we needed, apart from a clothes airer. A great base for exploring the island, with nothing more than about 45 minutes drive away. Sandown within walking distance, either along the coastal path or along the seafront. The things we really enjoyed were St Catherine's lighthouse, Osborne House, walking with alpacas, a highly recommended experience, and the crazy golf in Shanklin. The beaches we visited were Shanklin, Compton Bay and Sandown. Can recommend hiring sun loungers etc from Steve's beach, Sandown. Be prepared fo...more
Overall we felt one shower wasn’t adequate enough as we had 3 teenagers plus myself & my husband. He felt the wet room needed an inner screen to stop the water flooding out into other areas. We were disappointed that being on the periphery of the property it was a long way to reach the swimming pool & games room so felt that was misleading in the advertising, it would have meant taking the children by car & picking them up again so subsequently we didn’t use this facility. We had a lovely stay at Treetops with an added bonus of wonderful weather & shopping facilities just around the corner.
The accommodation was clean and bright. There were a couple of things that needed attention but nothing that spoilt the stay. The kitchen was well equipped on the whole but could maybe benefit from another baking tray, a broom and perhaps an iron. The location was good for a walk into Cowes. The pool at the complex was pleasant but the changing rooms are in need of some renovation.
Excellent holiday many thanks. A few minor issues of which i believe you are aware, such as refuse collection why the bin is not numbered, no up to date calendar for collection dates. Also the stair handrail, and guttering to the rear of the property need attention. We would also suggest an upgrade to the hair dryer. This is not intended as a grumble,as we had a wonderful time.
Appeared clean but don't look too closely. Desperately needs a shower. Very cluttered with nik naks. No room in cupboards for food. Beds were comfortable. The stairs were unsuitable for people with mobility problems. All the extras were very appreciated but the Voucher for the pub meal.. Don't go there. That was 'gross'. Regarding the Island, nothing was too far away. A lot of things were just a poor value for money compared to the rest of UK. Garlic Farm and Crazy Golf in Sandown to name but a few. The Donkey Sanctuary was excellent as was the Steam Festival. The Needles disappointing with a...more
This was our first time at 4 Brooks close and we intend to return again. a true holiday getaway with plenty of space for family to relax and have fun. the garden was a great to sunbath in or to play in. Little pond and beautiful established trees and plants in flower to enjoy. Barbeque and seating provided in garden too. This was a true holiday home from home with a few games and books and table tennis set for the family to enjoy. bedrooms were great my little lad particulary enjoyed it in the loft room. conservatory was great, kitchen well equipped so able to cook a full meal no problem ...more
Morse Cottage is in a lovey location with plenty of room but the cottage we found to be very tired. All the curtains require maintenance throughout the building and one set seemed to be running with moths. We did leave a list of things on the dining table that we found e.g. no cereal bowls for breakfast (we ate out of kitchen bowls), the bottom tray of the dishwasher was broken and would not slide out - parts broken parts left in the fruit bowl, the ensuite toilet seat was broken on arrival, the iron did not work (no fuse), no toaster, no welcome pack with instructions and safety notes and n...more
Cottage was a great size for our family holiday but completely let down by the cleanliness and lack of preparation for guests. Never before have we arrived at a cottage to find dirty dishes in the dishwasher, rubbish left in the kitchen and an oven that belched smoke due to spilt food on the oven floor. Lightbulbs also needed replacing, lounge carpet needed vacuuming as there were still crisps left on it and some towels were stained. Have to say that our complaints were addressed immediately but a bottle of wine and chocolates as an apology don’t quite do it. Real shame as the location and...more
The flat is in an excellent location but unfortunately the cleanliness was extremely poor and not up to standard
Great location if not driving , perfect for ramblers being on one of the many footpaths in the area.
A top floor apartment, with a lot of stairs to get to. Three good size bedrooms and open plan kitchen. Dining room, watch out for the sloping ceilings, where you have to play "people Tetris" to get 4 people sat down together. Large front room with fantastic views, but very small TV. Bathroom has bath, shower, sink and toilet, but shower head isn't adjustable with low water pressure. No WiFi available!
As a family of 5 with mixed needs we have holidayed at Wight Lodge for several years and have always found it to be fine. The location is the thing for us with beautiful views, without this, we wouldn't have returned year after year. This year's stay will probably be our last, the property is decorated and furnished exactly the same as it was 6 years ago, the same mattresses and beds are still being used which I would have thought would have been replaced long before now as the beds are very uncomfortable. The cleanliness was well below the standard required, despite the letting agent ...more
We’ve stayed in a number of UK holiday properties over the years but this has been our first disappointment. This could be such a lovely place and indeed a few years back it seems it once was, if the older entries in the guestbook are anything to go by. A quick google shows the whole farm was up for sale in 2018 (and what it should look like) and so I presume since then things have become a bit neglected. Island Holiday Homes (who we booked through) also need to pull their finger out and inspect properties on their books if this example is representative of what they offer as high quality acco...more
Comfortable spacious bungalow The furniture in lounge is tired looking and could be updated. The curtains in the back bedroom do not keep out light very bright and hot from the conservatory area which is a lovely asset to your house but need darker curtains for sleeping . A plate rack for draining dishes would be helpful or even dish washer installed. Otherwise a good functional home and garden and views are beautiful Lovely walks 5 mins to beach or country side Nice place to stay for touring the island.
The agents were very helpful with arranging ferries, especially when we had to make a late change. The accommodation was clean and bright. Convenient for walking into Ventnor and lovely coastal walks. Kitchen was well equipped but surprised that there wasn't even some milk left for us. There was no provision for storing clothes in the second bedroom. It was very strange to have to enter the bathroom via the kitchen. Extremely disappointed by the complete lack of privacy of the outside area - it was like sitting with the neighbours. As a consequence we hardly ever used it. Also it was ...more
Good location - not far from shops in Shanklin. You can walk to the shops. Walk to the beach is a little far. Space for one car to park. Double yellow lines outside and in neighboring roads. Apartment is a good size and relatively clean. Garden was shabby - bird poo outside back door - had to step over it all. Rubbish was piled up outside the kitchen window with flies hanging around. Unused, water filled food compost containers left in garden, not good for toddlers to be messing with. Lots of leaves and weeds in the garden, garden chairs had rusty springs - not like the picture. Our holiday was ruined. Although an attempt was made to clean up the place cutlery etc was still greasy. We felt the only use of the flat was for showering ....after WE had got rid of the mould etc. making coffee and sleeping. The flat was most unsuitable for letting out Given decent clean owners the flat could be magnificent although we will not return even to the island. It has left bad feelings
