Hazeldene is a stylish, modern holiday let in Luccombe, near Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. This detached chalet offers 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a separate dining area, and a family-friendly garden with sea glimpses. Dog-friendly with bowls and blankets provided. Said to have been built as a labour of love, adding a touch of charm to this coastal retreat.

We had an amazing stay on the Isle of Wight

Hazeldene however really made our trip

It was a beautifully relaxing property. There was nothing that we needed that it didn’t have

A huge amount of time, effort and care has gone into making this property what it is

All of our party slept so well in this peaceful, calming cottage

For us, the back garden was bliss. We sat out every morning, afternoon and evening, soaking up the sun and enjoying the view of the garden and surrounding land

The whole property feels very private and not overlooked at all. The property is located in a very quiet yet accessible residential area near Luccombe/Shanklin. There are plenty of cafes, shops, restaurants, pubs, supermarkets etc all nearby

The trade off for this is you have to drive into town, but the very few cons are far outweighed by the pros

The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, and the array of outside seating options are mind boggling, but we all found our favourite seats for the week!

Jan was a fabulous host and communicated well if we needed anything

If you are looking for a calming, peaceful, relaxing retreat, whilst still only being a 5 minute drive into town/beach. We had a fabulous stay and hope to return in the future. Initially I couldn’t find many reviews for the property, but went on gut instinct, my advice, book it, you won’t be disappointed!

We stayed in Hazeldene in June 2026 as a family holiday - 4 adults and 2 children. We really hit the jackpot here. This is the first property I have stayed in that makes the whole family feel so welcome. The children are fully catered for with a dedicated room containing books, games, toys and even a portable DVD player. Adults are catered for with every appliance and gadget you could wish for. The beds are comfortable and upstairs there is even a telescope? Plenty of comfortable seating. Outside is fantastic. There is a fairy garden for the children, a summer house on the lawn for meals and also on the patio is a large table for meals. The patio also has relaxers. The veranda was my favourite space to sit and relax whilst a gentle breeze keeps the 28+degree heat at bay. In the corner there is a craft area with draws of shells and things to make something. The owner encourages the children to make and leave something at the cottage - a drawing, painted stone or something that they have found on the beach whilst staying at Hazeldene. This is a real family holiday home, immaculatley maintained, everything provided, lovely views. We will be back.

Would you return?
Yes, without doubt

Ann what fabulous comments. It was so lovely to meet you and your husband and have a brief chat. I'm so glad everyone had a great time. I have to say I was really bowled over that your daughter and grandchildren made me a spectacular wind chime with shells driftwood and string. I've been telling everyone about it.!! It's in pride of place for all to see along with a fabulous picture of Sandown Zoo animal Sanctuary in my memory scrap book. Thank you everyone. Hope to see you all again soon. Jan and Co.
