Excellent villa and location which is brilliantly equipped. Island Holidays are friendly and easy to deal with. A thoroughly enjoyable break and our dog loved it too.

We had a great stay at Bella Vista. Great balcony with sea views. Very quiet and comfortable. The only down side is its quite a steep walk up from the coast. We know Ventnor so we drove down and found free parking. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.

Very comfortable house with stupendous views across the bay but needs some attention to detail to be perfect. The beds were comfy but a bit saggy in the middle, the lounge was comfy but the armchairs and sofa are made for people of 6ft with very long legs! The walk up from the town and beach is long and very steep, which was ok for some of us but others should be aware - but there is a bus.
The en-suite bathroom was left half cleaned with rubbish on the floor and a dirty sink with a dirty cloth left in it and debris on the floor to greet us - but the rest of the house was spotless.
A litany of minor defects too: a cracked cafetiere; the odd light not working; the main bathroom sink plug got stuck down from time to time and was difficult to open; we couldn't open the main bathroom window because there was no key; the wi-fi didn't work on our phones (but it did on other's) and the agency said they couldn't help with that (even though it is advertised and that is a main service these days); most of the kitchen knives were quite blunt to say the least; the back door was jammed shut so there was only one way out (fire risk). The dish washer was good but we could have done with extra crockery and cutlery to save frequent running of it and induction hob takes some getting used to if you're not already. And finally, although the blurb warns about there being 21 steps up to the front door, it didn't say that the steps are very high steps also made for long legs. But we got fitter as the week went by and despite all the minor defects, we had a comfortable stay and a great week!

Would you return?
Yes, for the views but the house could really do with the attention to detail.

Dear Margaret Thank you for your feedback, this is very important to us to ensure the guest experience is kept to a high standard. Bella Vista has received nothing but 5 star reviews since its launch in 2022, so we are very surprised by some of your comments. We will advise the owners to inspect the accommodation before the 2024 launch. The season has been very busy and the wear and tear factor does come into play and some of the 'minor defects' are really to do with this and will be attended to, we advise all guests to let us know if there are shortfalls during their stay and certainly cleaning is a vital service and we always want to know about issues here on arriva, so we can recall the cleaners and sort out these if and when they occur. The back door is not a fire exit door as you would have to pass the kitchen to get to this exit, making it unsuitable, we imagine the heavy rain had caused a temporary swelling of the frame or door, we will have this inspected, again we had no knowledge of this during your stay and would have liked to have know so we could instruct maintenance to deal with this for you. Wi-fi is an essential service, but a third party one so cannot ever be guaranteed. As the other phones in the party were working this would indicate the wi-fi was in fact working correctly. We cannot account for personal device issue and are only able to resolve problems affecting the equipement provided. There are occassional phone signal problems in Ventnor, some networks are not serviced very well here due to the nature of the surrounding landscape. We have not have had any other reported problems with the wi-fi. We feel the accommodation is well equipped and is comfortable, reiterated by many good reviews, but we will review this feedback and put right any shortfalls accordingly. As you rightly poiinted out there are many steps to the accommodation and these have been highlighted clearly prior to booking and on pre-arrival information, the steps are not suitable for older guests, but are of a regular height and depth as far as we are aware, we will look into this and see if there are added notes required. The settees are modern 'deep seat' style settees and a very popular design at present. They are designed to be used with scatter cushions so there is maximum comfort where needed and can be adapted to all shapes and sizes, this said we will look at the amount and size of the scatter cushions to ensure they fit the purpose for all types of guests. This was a perfect place to relax. Whilst a bit of a walk uphill from the beach, the view was worth it. Very calming!
The house was spotless and well equipped - cooking was a pleasure.
A 10-15 walk to both ventnor beach and Steep Hill Cove probably our favourite place on the Isle of Wight - very chilled.

Excellent in every respect but it’s best to book direct through Island Holiday Homes I booked through another site without realising it was linked to IHH and consequently received no help with ferry costs and paid more.

You won't be disappointed with this property. Very comfortable, clean and spacious accommodation in a superb state of decoration and excellently appointed to a high specification throughout, with everything you could need so you only have to do food shopping. Furniture and appliances, even the bedroom TVs and Freeview boxes, are good quality and condition rather than the marginally-better-than-nothing Gumtree specials so often used to furnish rentals.

It's located off Zig Zag road on a quiet close, zero disturbance despite proximity to the town and very private without being overlooked despite being in a residential area. The single parking space is generous and can easily accommodate a large vehicle. The frontage has a sun-trap terrace looking out to sea, fenced and gated so dogs can't escape, and with plenty of room for the table and available lean-back chairs.

It all results in a property that feels like a home rather than a holiday let. We genuinely can't fault it and intend to return which will make it only the second property we've used more than once in over 15 years of regularly visiting the island.

Two notes for future residents:
1. Something to consider for dog owners, the property has only shubbery, no garden, meaning any canine bathroom visit is a walk away which is only short but will entail several flights of steps to get to grass. Didn't bother us but obviously is less convenient than just opening a door to a lawn. There is a small patch of astroturf by the porch, but it seemed a bit inappropriate to use that.

2. Don't do what I did and get Amazon parcels sent there, there is no key for the post box available.

We loved staying at Bella Vista. Everything was very clean and looked brand new. Both bathrooms were modern with walk in showers. There was everything that you could need to have a home from home stay. We could sit either on the sunny terrace or the roomy lounge looking through the double patio doors out to the sea view. We loved staying there and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The steps up to the property were difficult for me as I have breathing problems but they didn't detract from the immaculate, homely bungalow that we enjoyed staying in so much.

Our stay here was wonderful, it was very clean and comfortable, beautiful views, couldn't ask for better, could not fault it, we would definitely stay here again, a big thanks to the owners for renting this out, and huge thank you to the cleaner who does a superb job.
