This renovated converted stable provides comfortable accommodation for couples and small families alike. Situated in an enviable location overlooking the busy Bembridge harbour the cottage is within a short walk of the beach.

Bed linen and towels not provided. Sorry, no storage facilities for bikes/kayaks/canoes etc.

We had the most fantastic stay in The Stables. It had everything we needed and was warm and cosy - vital in January! The location is amazing, right on the edge of the harbour. Lots of birds to see and amazing sunrises. We loved walking across the Causeway to St Helen's Duver. Also up the hill to the village, where there is a pub, grocery store and the most amazing second hand bookshop I have ever visited. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We hope to return.

Lost count of the amount of times we have now visited the island and we would never stay anywhere other than this location. Hosts Dave and Sue are the best and we absolutely love our stay in their cottage. Always spotless and very well equipped please don’t ever stop!

This was our 2nd stay at the stables, the location is great and provides excellent value for money.
Owner next door is very helpful but not intrusive and facilities are great.

Another wonderful holiday at the Stables. We have been coming here for several years and hope to do so for many more! The house has everything we need and the location cannot be beaten. Peaceful and perfect for nature lovers. The Vine Inn is a short walk away in the village, serving good food in a traditional pub setting. Warm and comfortable house. Highly recommend.

We have stayed several times at the Stables, and always look forward to our holidays there. Our hosts David and Sue always make us feel welcome and it has almost become a home from home for us. The pace of life is nice and slow, which is what we are after!

The area is ideal for walking, with plenty of bird sanctuary's and views across the Solent.

Several good places to eat nearby, especially seafood,which we adore.

Lots to do and see around the Island, no two days the same.

Looking forward to our next stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this scenic and quietly situated cottage. Everything we needed was provided and we were able to relax in warm comfort perfectly placed to travel around the island. It was delightful to wake each morning to a panorama of sea and wildlife. I was even able to make use of the small back garden to hang out my washing. A real home from home by the sea.

It is always a pleasure stopping on the Isle of Wight, but our stay at The Stables is perfect for us as a couple. The scenary, local walks and access to the rest of the Island. Our hosts David and Sue, our namesakes! are particularly helpful and attentive, with an abundance of local knowledge.
A quiet location, which would appeal to those who like a quiet escape. The area has a nature reserve nearby, with protected Lagoons, harbour facilities with little cafe's and local pubs within reasonable distances. Fishing is also available out of the harbour.

We have already booked again for next year, and can't wait !!!

The cottage is in a stunning and quiet location overlooking Bembridge Harbour. Only a few minutes walk from the beach along the causeway.

The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped and it was great having a washing machine to wash our muddy clothes after enjoying fabulous walks on the island.

No33 on the village green does great takeaways.

The village shop is only a few minutes walk so a lovely start to the day to get the paper and a few groceries.

We would recommend to friends and family and we would like to return.

The Stables is located right by the sea in St Helen's with a beautiful view over Bembridge harbour. There are excellent walks from the front door.
The cottage is comfortable and was very clean on arrival. Obviously, lockdown regulations meant it wasn't quite as well equipped as last year - no books or maps, DVDs or games - but we knew that ahead of time and went prepared.
The kitchen was well equipped with crockery, cutlery, pits, pans, mixing bowls, scales etc. The washing machine worked well. The dishwasher, not so well, and we told the owners about it as we left.
The living room chairs were comfortable.
The bed was firm which suited us, and is a double, which is useful to know as you need to take your own bedding.
The second bedroom is small, with just two single beds. The chest of drawers is on the landing. So I would suggest that the cottage is fine for a family with one or two younger children rather than for two adult couples.
I suppose the best recommendation is that we've already booked to go back next year.

By far the best holiday rental we have ever experienced. The Stables were immaculately presented. Nothing was left to chance as far as equipment was concerned, right down to egg cups and food mixer! Everything seemed brand new or practically so. A nice touch when it comes to kitchen equipment. Excellent parking. Lovely outdoor patio and garden to the rear and a proper washing line with loads of pegs - essential when holidaying with young children. Glorious views from inside. This place was such a find and the owner who lived next door was really helpful. All these elements contributed to a marvellous first holiday on The Isle of Wight and our family are looking forward to a return visit.

A lovely house in a beautiful location. Comfortable and clean with everything you need for a self catering stay. The friendly and helpful owner lives just next door if you need anything. Good pub and restaurant just up the lane, and another couple a little further away in Bembridge. The Duver is on the doorstep, and is wonderful for walks and bird watching. This is about our 15th stay on the island and I can't believe it has taken us this long to find The Stables. By far the best place we have stayed, we didn't want to leave. Spotlessly clean, equipped with everything you need and more, and fantastic views over the harbour. Landlord very helpful and friendly, recommended the fort walk at St Helens which only happens twice a year due to tides, this was an amazing experience not to be missed! We won't stay anywhere else now.

The photos do not do this place justice! Really lovely area with views over the harbour. Geese, swans and ducks wandering around out the front of the house, great for the children to see.
The house itself was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was so well equipped with a good size fridge and separate freezer. Note the plates and cups are in the side board in the living room, which we did not find until the 6th day of our holiday!!
The master bedroom was huge, the twin was smaller as you would expect, could fit a travel cot in between the beds though.
Quiet area which was perfect for us, Sandown was a 7 minute car ride away.
We will definitely return. Thank you for a lovely holiday home!

The Stables is in a lovely peaceful location close to Bembridge Harbour with attractive views. The cottage is very clean, well maintained, well furnished, comfortable and welcoming. The double bed is very comfortable (N.B. bed linen and towels are not supplied), and there is plenty of wardrobe space and clothes hangers. There is a second bedroom, which we didn't use, which has two single beds. The bathroom is light and airy with a shower over the bath. The living/dining area is spacious and well appointed including TV etc. The three piece suite is very comfortable. The kitchen is newly fitted with everything you would need including full size electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There is an iron and ironing board available, and a washing line in the back garden (pegs supplied). There is a patio area outside the back door with table, chairs and sun umbrella. St. Helen's seafront is a short walk away across the causeway at the front of the property and there is a shop, pub, restaurants and bus stops close by. The owners of The Stables live locally and are very friendly and approachable. Overall The Stables is an ideal holiday cottage which we can recommend. We should also mention Anne-Marie at Island Holiday Homes who was very helpful and efficient.
