Our week at Woodside Cottage and in the Isle of Wight was delightful. The weather was perfect and the cottage very comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed relaxing in the conservatory looking at the well kept garden and the sunshine. The location was very central to everywhere we wanted to visit (apart from the numerous road works!). The Griffin Pub was most welcoming and convenient, just down the road and the free parking at the Old Smithy a real bonus. A lovely return visit to the Island.

Our second stay at this lovely cottage, everything for a perfect holiday has been catered for from indoors to outdoors. Loved the table tennis. The master bedroom was excellant, sunny and warm. The staff were lovely and our clean bedding was provided as requested. We are looking forward to our next visit in 2025.

Everything provided, very clean and cosy, wonderful location. Housekeepers were lovely. Looking forward to our next stay.
Lovely family of rabbits at the bottom of the garden. Because the weather was quite cool the conservatory was really warm and welcoming. This is a lovely home.

Our 7th visit and another excellent stay at this amazing property. Good bus links at the end of the road to all parts of the island. Lots of walking from the door. The cottage as always was very well presented and equipped with everything needed. Even with inclement weather a nice relaxing break in a home from home cottage. Look forward to returning.

Our sixth visit to Woodside and as always everything well equipped and beautifully maintained.Spotlessly cleaned and prepared by Lisa.
The cottage is in a very good position with bus links to all parts of the island 2 minutes walk away. There is everything you need to make this a perfect home from home.
Thank you to Bob and Carol for sharing your beautiful home. Thanks also to Island Holidays for all their help in arranging the bookings.

Beautiful cottage and garden, we could relax. The children liked the garden toys, and our youngest loved the tree house. It had everything we needed and more. Also had lots of space. It was close to lots of attractions, all within 10 to 20 mins!

We have been going to Woodside cottage for the past 5 years, and we love it there, it has everything you need. You dont have any worries when staying here you can get to everywhere you need to go daily perfect cottage in the perfect location.
Unfortunately we have a couple of pups now, and due to a very bad experience with one of the kennels on the island we wont be able to come again unless we find a top class kennel to look after them. Our Inlaws will be back though you can count on them !!

Property was extremely well presented and clean, felt very homely in every respect. Kitchen was well appointed with plenty of pots, pans and utensils. Large garden was especially nice for our two young boys (although we spent most days exploring the island). Only slight negatives, one sofa was extremely uncomfortable (sofa bed) and the location is approx. 1 mile outside of Godshill with no pathway on the main road to the village so had to use the car always. Overall a fantastic place to stay, great value and would return again in the future.

Following another recent negative comment about the lounge sofas we are planning to replace both of them before the season begins again next year. Regarding the walk into Godshill, there is a footpath to the village which takes about 25 minutes via lovely pathways crossing the fields (you have to cross the main road once). We had left a map pinned up on the noticeboard which gave the directions, so will get more printed for next season, too. We do hope to welcome you back sometime soon!

With regards to the en-suite shower upstairs, we are aware that this does not suit everyone, but we have no alternative given the slope of the roof. This was our third visit to Woodside cottage and it did not disappoint. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and clean and the garden is a lovely place to spend time when returning from a day out, it has lots of added extras to keep the children amused.
This property is very well situated for reaching everywhere on the island easily.
Would highly recommend it and will return if we can, next time we visit the Isle of Wight.

When we saw this property whilst looking through the website it was ideal for what we needed and it looked lovely, on arriving at the property it was even better in the flesh just superb.
The cottage is in a lovely position very quiet, there's a pretty village just down the road 5 mins by car with some lovely coffee shops ,pub etc.
The bedroom upstairs was just fabulous very nice and loved the bathroom too.
We found Woodside Cottage very spacious, very comfortable and with all the amenities you have here including the lovely garden which the grandchildren loved its all you need for a wonderful and delightful stay.

We have just returned from a superb stay at Woodside cottage. We absolutely loved the property - the photos don't give the space you have justice. The property was immaculately clean (important at the moment) and well equipped and it is on a nice quiet country road with easy access to the centre of Godshill, but also Shanklin, Ventnor and everywhere else on the island. The agency and the owner could not have been more accommodating to our needs with small children.

The beds are comfortable, the sofas are too. The garden has a wonderful treehouse, as well as a badminton set, a table tennis table, and lots of garden furniture. We have stayed in 3 properties on the Isle of Wight over the past 4 years and this was by far our favourite.

We will definitely be returning.

This is the second time we have stayed at Woodside cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property has everything you could need and even though some things had been removed due to the pandemic it didn't spoil our stay. The conservatory was a great hit, we loved sitting in there with the doors open looking out onto the lovely garden, which we spent lots of time enjoying with our grandson. He especially loved the tree house.
This cottage is situated in a great location for exploring the island.
If ever we come back to the IOW we will definitely book again.

This was a the long awaited break we needed due to COVID pandemic. Woodside Cottage is is such a beautiful place to come its everything we need and more especially being on the Isle of wight !! We cant fault the property it has a beautiful garden and tree house which my little one loved and the weather was just perfect. The new patio and conservatory just finish the cottage off lovely.

Cant wait to return just hope we can get out and about next time and enjoy the island more when we come back in June next year.

We had a lovely break at Woodside Cottage and would definitely stay there again. It was particularly good for families with lots of space in the living room & conservatory and a lovely big garden. The tree house and slide were very popular! Amenities were of a good standard with a well equipped kitchen with everything you need. Beds were comfortable and the upstairs bedroom and en-suite was very nice. We could see that there would normally be games, books etc. available but due to COVID-19 these items had to be removed but this didn't detract from our stay. The Cottage is in a good central location, so easy to get to attractions and not too far from a beach. A good time was had by all.

From the moment we arrived we fell in love with the cottage. Well kept and extremely well equipped. The cottage was very clean with all beds made up ready. The only thing it doesn’t have is wi-do, if this was added it would be perfect. Have recommended to friends and would stay there again

An excellent spacious cottage for a week babysitting our grandchildren. Lovely garden and the cottage contained everything we needed. My only criticisms are that we did not find the settees very comfortable and that the beds (particularly single) were also not very comfortable.

Woodside was a lovely place to stay, it was clean and comfortable and the garden was brilliant, there were lots of extras for the children which we appreciated. It is situated in a very convenient place for exploring the island and if we were to return to that area we would certainly consider booking it again.

Very disingenuous the overall stated of the property, the whole place with the exception of the loft room needs a lick of paint, the garden furniture needs replacing as rust is coming through on all chairs ,the patio needs a complete make over as grass is growing thought paving slabs plus some need re pointing, the local agents did offer to rectify but this should have all been done before our arrival

Thank you for your feedback which has been noted and passed on to the owner. Whilst we appreciate some of the garden furniture needed a rub down and there were a few weeds poking through the patio this home has had many visitors and never a bad word has been said. It has had 5 stars reviews and repeat customers year on year. The owners are very attentive and we will always be on hand to rectify any problems the same day (where feasible). A few weeds and some rust would not be unexpected in the rural location that Woodside is set in and we would feel it would truly not interfere with ones enjoyment of the location and idyllic nature of the outlook and position. That said the owners have taken the notes on board and put the wheels in motion to address them where they feel it is required. Useful Tip: There can be a saving made on the purchase of Isle of Wight holidays if the buyer carries out a more thorough search, buying direct through Island Holiday Homes (and our website) would ensure a saving of between 5-18% as opposed to some of the more popular companies like Booking.com, Airbnb etc. Kind regards Island Holiday Homes Isle of Wight

Absoultely fantastic this was our 2nd stay at woodside and weve booked next year already. What can I say its a beautiful place to stay its home from home, my daughters loved the garden we didnt want to go home. I think we will be back every year we just cant knock anything about it ! Would like to make a suggestion maybe offer a 10 day break aswell as we would jump at the chance !!

Only one suggestion just make sure the contracted cleaners put out clean towels the towels we had left didn’t smell clean, it’s like they had been used and left to dry so had to rewash them all, wasn’t an issue and certainly didn’t put a dampener on our holiday hence why we’ve booked again !

Island Holiday Homes were very helpful and did all they could to help with our enquiries. Woodside Cottage was lovely and very true to the description. My 2 year old grandson loved the playhouse and the toys in the conservatory. Woodside Cottage is obviously a very well loved and maintained home - a real find. One small drawback was the road immediately in front of the drive. It did make taking walks with a young child rather 'hairy'!

There were four of us (85, 58, 53 and 8). Very nice cottage in a quiet location. Pretty much everything you would need in the kitchen, TV is via Freesat. There is no WiFi in the cottage but BT customers can use neighbouring BT WiFi in some parts of the cottage. The garden is spacious and very pleasant, we played lots of football and cricket.
The en-suite upstairs is good but a little cramped if you are tall (I'm 6' 1" any taller would have been a problem.
Tricky turn into the property if you have a large vehicle and the turn from the lane to main road is also a little blind.
The location is very good for travelling around, most places we visited were within a 20 minute drive, only the far west of the island were longer, the Needles were around 40 minutes. Good food in Godshill at various locations.

The cottage was well maintained and supplied with everything you need for home from home stay and very clean. All ages catered for. Although in a quiet area, which was appreciated by us, it is very easy to get to a number of beaches and attractions. Bus stop at the end of the road.

Well maintained, comfortable and spotless home from home. Very well resourced, from garden toys and BBQ to kitchen items. Owners clearly want people to enjoy their home.
Management company lets it down sadly: wasn't ready until an hour after arrival time and keys had to be personally delivered or posted back at our expense at end of holiday. Had to provide all our own cot bedding. Blankets musty and not enough towels (6 between 7).

Excellent property for a family holiday, peaceful location but only a short drive from a number of great attractions. Children are well catered for with plenty of games, toys, tree house, outdoor table tennis table (which the adults also enjoyed) and a safe secure garden. Would have no hesitation in recommending the property.
