We had a very enjoyable weeks stay in The Pipers for the following reasons:

The apartment was furnished very well and everything was very clean.
Its proximity to Loch Lomond is splendid. Though we didn’t have a view of the loch from our windows we only had to walk around to the other side of the building and the views of the Loch were great.
The apartment kitchen had everything we needed during the week.
And
The welcome breakfast supplies were a lovely treat. The welcome bottle of Prosecco was an even lovelier treat!
We were greeted by Liz on our arrival who was very friendly and she re assured us that if we needed anything we could contact her on her mobile - but we didn’t need anything whatsoever so that was the first and last time we needed to see Liz .
We would definitely go back to The Pipers. Thank you.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at the Pipers No.7 and it’s absolutely gorgeous. I would highly recommend it. We stayed two nights as we were attending a wedding at The Cruin (right next door) and I can honestly say it’s the perfect location! Stunning views and a two minute walk from our event venue. I will definitely stay again!
The apartment has every amenity you could think of and Liz was so helpful with the booking.

We stayed here for four nights and it was a wonderful experience. The castle is right on the banks of the loch and we just stepped out of our apartment to go for long walks along the loch. The interior has been beautifully renovated to a high standard and the bathroom is fabulous. It was a last minute decision for us to visit Loch Lomond instead of Fort William and the best decision I made.

Last minute booking meant that we could not get a loch view, but some of the apartments have great views if you book early enough. The kitchen was fully furnished and we received a welcome pack containing all the essentials you need for a good breakfast for the morning after your arrival. I contacted Liz and she was most helpful about letting us know all the necessary details.
A fabulous venue. We will definitely visit again (We were very lucky with the weather:))

Lovely flat. Decoration is of a high standard. Kitchen is well equipped. There was milk, bread, butter and prosecco on arrival. Lots of parking. Very helpful housekeeper who left extra bedding when contacted. The view of Loch Lomond from the building is spectacular but cannot be seen from inside The Pipers. Next time I would look to book a view.

The Pipers no. 7 was beautifully presented on arrival, especially with the unexpected gesture of food basics and wine provided.

The apartments are not economy holiday lets with thin walls; they are of residential standard. Access to the entrance gates is protected and although we saw other cars outside, we never bumped into anyone else inside the castle or heard anything from them. There is private access to a small pebbled shore and jetty, from which I was able to paddle my inflatable canoe to the nearby Duck Hotel for a drink and back, again meeting nobody else along the way. Perfect! Glorious lake and mountain scenery from the rear of the property, although note that no. 7 is at the front of the castle so does not itself have an unobstructed view of the loch.

In short, it was as if we personally owned both castle and loch for a week. We can thoroughly recommend this holiday accommodation.

We had a brilliant stay at Lomand Castle. Liz was incredibly helpful and ensured that we had all we needed throughout our stay. We wanted to use the sofa bed which was no problem and extra linen was provided. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and I'd highly recommend a stay.

Apt for family. Loved the accommodation and cleanliness and the setting. Although Piper No 7 did not have a good view of Loch Lomond, it was a non- issue. All the facilities were great. It is self-catering, so there is no restaurant in the premises. There are nearby restaurants you could drive to. Would visit again. Definitely recommended.

Lovely property, very modern and finished to extremely high standards. Everything you could need for a few days away. The only down side was it was a bit grubby in places - the windows were filthy and had marks and cobwebs inside and out, the bathroom tiles needed a good scrub, and the bedroom had not been hoovered. All in all, we would highly recommend.

Very disappointed have been to a lot of properties with Auchenheglish .First of all no linen left for sofa bed no towels .Two bulbs were flashing in the bathroom, after phoning cleaning company was told she had noticed that when getting flat ready. Not all groceries left.

Had a fantastic time at No 7 lomond Castle, the apartment was amazing. Spotlessly clean, the welcome pack was excellent, milk, bread, coffee, tea etc. The bed was so comfy, lovely furnishings, deep bath with shower.
Although we did not have a loch view it was not a problem you just walked round to the back of the building and you had a fantastic view with steps leading down to your private beach.. we loved it and have booked again for April.

Lovely accommodation in gated grounds. Apartment was clean, well equipped and the welcome basket went down very well since we flew up and couldnt bring anything with us. Since we were upstairs, it would have been nice to have some outside tables and chairs allocated to those without balconies and outdoor areas so we could enjoy the views into the evening. We would stay again though.

We were after somewhere to stay near water to spend a week paddleboarding and relaxing. Pipers No. 7 did not disappoint. The apartment had everything we needed and was very comfortable and clean. We had a couple of queries during our stay which were dealt with efficiently. The proximity to Loch Lomond was ideal and the Auchenheglish team were very helpful in helping us to store our paddleboard, safely, near the apartment.

Based on our experience, I would definitely use Auchenheglish Lodges for any future Scottish holidays and recommend them for anybody considering a holiday in the Loch Lomond area of Scotland.

Really appreciated the communication leading up to arrival. Very clean apartment that had everything we needed. Quiet, peaceful and loved having the ability to watch TV on a cozy rainy evening. Bed was comfortable, lots of space for 2 people. We really enjoyed our stay. We did think the 10am checkout time was a bit too early however, not really in line with standard check out times.

We had a good stay here, but there was a few issues that made it less than spectacular. We were unaware of the number of stairs to the unit and as we are in our 70s with some mobility issues it was a bit of a challenge. The interior was very nice except there were fairly serious glass or cup rings on the coffee table hidden by drink coasters. There was also some sticky residue on the island countertop, when we arrived, but easily cleaned up with a damp sponge.

One other issue was that the unit was stuffy and very warm, probably due to the unusually warm weather. We opened the windows which did cool the unit down, but we had to shut them around sunset as there were no insect screens on those windows and the bugs outside were quite bad and were finding their into the unit.

Other than that we were quite happy with the unit and appreciated the wash machine, a comfortable bed, and having coffee for our first morning.

The dining options were great, The Cruin was close and Duck Bay was very good. We had dinner one night on Inchmurrin island which was very good and getting there felt like an adventure.

The location was perfect for us and we poked around both sides of the Loch and discovered a steam ferry on Loch Katherine. Beautiful countryside and great location from which to explore.

Second time we have stayed this year, it has become our home from home when we are in Scotland. Service is excellent from the Management and upon arrival everything is provided for next days breakfast unlike much more expensive lodges not far away which we previously stayed in before discovering Lomond Castle. Even a bottle of wine is provided to refresh you after the journey. The apartment is very nicely furnished and the bed very comfortable with pristine bedding. Perfect for a couple who want to get away from it all.
Only sad point is it does not have a loch view but as we are ex residents of the area we have seen it all before.

We were in for a wedding at The Cruin, so the location couldn’t be beat. We were two adults and a four year old and the size and amenities were perfect. We had one small issue with the hot water to which Wendy was super responsive and fixed immediately, and it was no issue the remainder of the stay. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others!

The only thing I might recommend to improve anything is room darkening shades, as the current ones don’t do much to block the morning light and resulted in some early mornings - mostly ok by us, though it would have been nice for the morning following the wedding haha.

We stayed here because we were going to a wedding at The Cruin. It was ideal as not only is it situated in a beautiful setting but it was very close to The Cruin. The flat was large enough for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. We had plenty of space for getting ready and the boys loved having access to Netflix. Would definitely consider coming back for another few days.

The castle is absolutely gorgeous and the apartment itself stunning also. We visited in Autumn and the trees outside in the garden were just beautiful. More spacious inside than i expected from the photos - plenty of space to keep luggage out of the way etc. Very clean and everything you need in kitchen etc! Bed was very comfortable! Would definitely return!

Room was mostly well equipped and clean. The grounds of this property were amazing! Here are a few things this room needs in order for people to have an even better stay. 1) BLACK OUT window shades or blinds. Sun went down at 10:45pm and was back up at 4:15am! All the windows in this unit had only a white shade that let all the sunlight in, so we didn't sleep well until we covered our faces with something which kept falling off. We tried to buy sleeping masks at a few stores and were not able to find any. 2) A couple of small portable FANS shlould in the closet for those rare warm Scottish nights. There were 4 out of our 7 nights that we needed a fan because there is no AC in this unit. 3) A bin for recycling in the kitchen for plastic and paper. We all know recycling is important and there was only a bin outside for glass. All and all we had a great time in Scotland and would consider this property again...just a different unit. Thanks.

Good service when booking and very good instructions to enter the property. Nr 7 was large enough for a short break but both the bedroom and lounge/kitchen are small, especially when using the folding dining table in the lounge. Instructions for appliances could be improved (provide an index) and specific advice (by which I mean prepared for the property rather than flyers) on local shops and facilities would have been welcome.

I noted the flat was fitted with a smoke alarm but there was no evidence of an alarm system for the whole building; as the hall and landing are communal I found that surprising.

There is a shortage of communal waste bins, the bottle bins were filled on the same day immediately after they had been emptied.

For the price we could have stayed in a hotel, maybe without the comfort of a settee to whatch the TV, but with breakfasts included. Hence poor value. Recommended for the location.

Excellent Easter family break. It makes such a difference to book into somewhere that provides a welcome pack. I have booked other lodges etc and you need to pack everything from toilet roll to towels. It was such a great place to arrive and have all the essentials there to start our break. We will return.

We literally booked this 2 hours before we arrived after the lodge we were going to fell through. What a lovely relaxing apartment. Beautiful location. The apartment is very well equipped and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable although for me the pillows were a bit soft but that is just a personal thing.

What did stand out was the service from both Liz and Wendy. I can see why they have lots of comments online. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Exceptional service.

We walked to Duck Bay Marina nearby and had a fab breakfast. The previous day we had lunch at The Lodge on the Loch with family which again was excellent.

All in all a lovely three night break with lots of beautiful memories. Would recommend this apartment to family and friends.

An extremely well-presented and comfortable apartment in a beautiful setting, containing everything required from a self-catering holiday. Good supermarkets, restaurants and spa a short drive away and an excellent base to visit some gorgeous Scottish locations. Lovely to return to at the end of a long day out. Easy to book and warm and welcoming support provided by Auchenheglish Lodges.

We stayed recently to attend a wedding at nearby Cameron House. After a 25-30 minute taxi ride from Glasgow airport we arrived 2 hours earlier than our check in time but thankfully our accommodation was already ready. We were met at the reception and kindly given a lift with all our bags to The Pipers although there was plenty of parking available if we had driven. The accommodation was modern, clean and comfortable with a large kitchen and lounge area, spacious double bedroom, and bathroom accessible from the entrance hall and bedroom. As the wedding was taking place at Cameron House we spent much of our time back and forth between the venue and The Pipers, it's roughly a 15 minute walk or a 3-4 minute taxi journey which was perfect as we were close enough for the journey not to become tiresome but far enough away to have our own time when we wanted it. Lomond Castle is a grand old building situated overlooking the Loch with great views and if I had one criticism of The Pipers it is that the property is the car park side of the building rather than the Loch side; however, I'm sure the Loch facing properties are considerably more expensive. During our stay we were able to fish on the Loch, play golf at The Carrick (5-7 minute taxi) and enjoy the local places to eat and drink; I recommend The Boat House Bar/Restaurant (5 minute taxi) near Cameron House for lunch/dinner and The Duck Bay Restaurant (10 minute walk) for breakfast. As there are so many outdoor activities around Loch Lomond we didn't spend much time in The Pipers during the day but it was perfect as a base due to its location and was always a welcoming property to come home to of an evening. Would definitely visit again.

We stayed in No 7 for two nights in November 2016 when we attended our niece's wedding at The Cruin. The booking was made by my sister-in-law Janis Cameron. We collected the keys from the office boxes and let ourselves in as per the emailed instructions. The apartment has a warm welcoming feeling with quality inclusions and everything that guests would need. It was lovely to find bread and milk in the fridge, tea and coffee in the cupboard. The breakfast cereal was an added bonus as we had to leave early on the Sunday. Linen and towels were very good quality and the bed very comfortable. Good pillows, unlike most hotels we have visited in the UK.
Overall it was a perfect apartment for our weekend stay.
Two comments
- the stairs are very steep and a lift would improve the experience especially for older guests carrying luggage upstairs.
- the supermarket hard wash in the bathroom did not reflect the otherwise excellent standard of the apartment's inclusions.

The Pipers is a beautiful bright apartment in a lovely building. The setting is superb and the views from the garden over Loch lomond are fabulous. Would happily stay here again, highly recommended.

The accommodation was wonderful and in a perfect location to be able to explore the Loch Lomond area. It contains all modern appliances to provide guests with the option of a self-catering holiday; although as it is conveniently located beside Duck Bay and the village of Balloch, our preference was to eat out. We really enjoyed our stay and when considering another weekend away to Loch Lomond we'd definitely consider using Auchenheglish Luxury Lodges.

It was a lovely place to stay, we did not have a problem with the accommodation at all. It had absolutely everything you needed supplied.
The only problem we found was most of the pubs within walking distance weren't really pubs, they were more like restaurants so you had to buy food to sit in with kids.

Spotless flat in a great location. We have stayed in several Auchnaglish properties over the years . No3 is a better unit when staying in the Castle. ( we know it from olden times when it was a hotel). The TV has limited channel selection and we missed the Loch Views ( it's not entirely clear you look over the front garden from the website).
Still we had a great time and it was nice to be back in the area we have been visiting for around 35 years.
We look forward to our next visit.
