With four sons, wives/partners and 9 grandchildren my wife and I set off on a journey of looking for a place to enjoy as a family-scrolling the net was not allowing us all we were looking to achieve-The youngest was 4 months, the oldest 10 years old and then the adults who would also need to be kept entertained!
Then a lightbulb moment, with local knowledge we looked up The Lost Manor-sleeping 20 with pool, snooker rm, games rm, yoga rm which doubled up as a cinema, (my son brought his big projector.) Calm pathways to walk for some tranquility, tennis courts, BBQ, crochet lawn and lots of art in/outside the house.
What an amazing time we had in this well equipped Manor House. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable with bathrooms attached for each families needs.
Our dogs were very much at home with plenty of walks within the Manor walls, although Chumleigh was very picturesque and the local shops were also worth a visit.
Tescos delivered on time plus we also took food/drinks ourselves to keep so many fed. A private chef was enlisted for Sunday lunch and each family took on a meal so we didn’t spend our time slaving over cookers and dishwashers!
The owners, Alice and Luke were so understanding with fresh eggs and cake much appreciated on our arrival.
We would highly recommend The Lost Manor to anyone looking for a very large family get together where the outside world can be left behind for a few days

Location may be miles from water, but Chulmleigh is an enchanting village with an outstanding pub (The Old Court House). We are booked again for next year.

We had a great time at The Lost Manor. We were really lucky with the weather so the pool got a lot of use.
The house itself was great, plenty of room for us all to spread out but also there was the space for us all to eat together. The commercial kitchen space was great to store extra food etc.
The facilities such as pool/snooker table, table tennis & tennis courts meant there was plenty to keep everyone busy.
Chulmleigh was a lovely (if hilly) village. We managed to get out & about with Saunton Sands & Croyde under an hour away.
We also visited some great National Trust sites & there are lots of nice walks to do.
All in all we had a great holiday & The Lost Manor was a fabulous place to stay.

The Lost Manor is a truly magical place! We went recently for a big birthday celebration and were a party of nineteen, ranging from 6 months to 71 years old. We fell in love with the house which is full of character with books and art everywhere. It feels like being in a beautiful home rather than a bland rental property and we all agreed it was even more impressive in real life than the photos! The views over the Devon countryside are stunning with not another building in sight. The grounds are gorgeous - some areas slightly on the wild side rather than over-manicured which ticks my box. The pool is amazing - you could be in the south of France! Plus tennis, croquet, snooker, table-tennis, a yoga studio and a lovely terrace for alfresco dining. There is so much to do there in terms of facilities that you really don't need to leave the property! And it works really well with a large group as you're not on top of each other all the time, but can come together for lovely meals. All in all it was a fantastic place to lay down some very special memories!

The house, garden and facilities were absolutely perfect for my large family across three generations and everyone had a marvellous time. A bonus was the Chulmleigh Old Fair which was superb entertainment for all. With the dry weather we could not use the the croquet game but everything else worked well and we were looked after throughout.

We’ve just enjoyed our third stay at Lost Manor, having stayed twice when it was owned by the previous owners and now once with the current owners.
The house has had some really worthwhile upgrades, particularly the kitchen, which has made an already lovely property even better.
We were slightly apprehensive knowing the owners now live on site, as one of the things we’ve always loved most about Lost Manor is the sense of privacy. We needn’t have worried. The property still felt incredibly private throughout our stay, and we hardly noticed anyone was there.
For larger groups, it’s a fantastic house. The pool is always a highlight, and the separate catering kitchen is brilliant if you’re bringing in chefs or catering for a celebration. One of the biggest advantages, though, is that almost every bedroom has its own en-suite. That’s surprisingly rare in houses of this size and makes such a difference when you’re staying with a group of family and friends who don’t all know each other well.
We had another wonderful stay and made some very special memories here. Lost Manor continues to offer exceptional value for money, and it’s a property we’d happily recommend. I’m sure we’ll be back again in the future.

House was lovely with excellent spaces and facilities. We were blessed with excellent weather, so the pool was a real bonus. The snooker room was good too. Could have done with bath / shower mats to avoid slipping. Pegs for the washing line would have helped. Overall we all enjoyed our stay very much.

We had a truly fantastic time at the Manor over a long weekend with the family. Sharing special time with all the family. The house and grounds are delightful and made for an ideal setting for our murder mystery evening. We played tennis, boules and croquet. Also held a yoga session in magnificent studio. Easy walking to pub and golf at local club. Couldn’t have asked for more. Didn’t even make it to the games room! Thank you Alice. We plan to return one day.

What an amazing property! The Lost Manor was the perfect place for a family getaway. We so enjoyed having our choice of activities without leaving the property - swimming pool, tennis courts, indoor games and beautiful gardens to relax in! Alice was a fantastic host and ensured that all was prepared for our stay. Her suggestion of a Chef (Cooking with Gazz) to come in and cater for a special evening, was one of the highlights of our stay! We left the Lost Manor quite mesmerised by its charm.
