This four bedroom cottage is perfect for families. It has sea views all around with a deck and a conservatory to take it all in rain or shine. A very scenic spot with beaches and nearby Omey Island to explore as well as other areas around Connemara in every direction. Take a walk or short drive to Aughrus Beg Lake to fish for brown trout or enjoy Aughrus Beg Beach or Anchor Beach for a swim. Claddaghduff Village is just down the road with Sweeny’s Pub, petrol station, and shop for your convenience.

Too expensive for the condition of the house.

We arrived in the dark and cold, and the key wasn't in the key box. We had to contact the homeowner, and luckily she was able to tell us where we could hide a second key.

It was very cold in the house when we arrived, and we couldn't get it warm all week because the doors and windows were drafty. The living area is also open to the sky, so the heat from the two radiators escapes upwards.

Some of the dishes and pots weren't clean from the previous guests.

There were several dead insects (woodlice and flies) on the floor and shelves, and some woodlice were even in the bathroom.

This suggests to us that it had been quite some time since the house had been cleaned.

Outside, the wooden boards on the veranda were rotten, and one was already broken when we arrived.

The location of the house, however, is very nice.

I spent four weeks in this house while working on a new novel, and it proved to be an ideal environment for both creativity and rest. The views are nothing short of spectacular, changing constantly with the light and weather.
The location is excellent. It feels wonderfully remote and tranquil, yet a wide range of activities is easily accessible. Beautiful beaches, hiking trails, and charming villages provide many opportunities to explore the unique character of Connemara. After each excursion, returning to the calm atmosphere of the house was a pleasure.
The place has a special quality that inspires reflection and imagination. It is well suited for anyone seeking time away from daily routines, no matter whether the focus is on writing or simply enjoying nature.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for an unforgettable and inspiring stay in the west of Ireland. Thank you for having me!
