Beautiful home, well-cared for and maintained beautifully. Wonderful location. Lovely views, and just an outstanding place to stay! Couldn’t fault it. Cosy living room, great kitchen and quality appliances. Lovely bright spaces, modern bathrooms etc. Loved it, and can’t wait to return. P.s. Would be great if there was a lighter duvet in the main bedroom, as it was intolerably hot for summer (13.5 tog), but that’s a small issue!
Beautiful location, the house is very comfortable, extremely well equipped and with every home comfort and more. Within walking distance to Sweeneys Pub, shop and post office. Stunning views of Omey Island from the House. External seats and chairs from which to enjoy the view or barbeques. The house is spotless and well cared for and though we have been here more than 4 times, each time the owners have added or updated the house to improve it further. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.
Our week in Connemara was a great success- as we enjoyed all that this beautiful house and area has to offer. The accommodation is spacious, bright and has everything you need to ensure you are comfortable during your stay. Well located within walking distance of Omey Island Discovery Point and access to beach. Cleggan village is near by and we took time to visit Inishbofin Island. Our host Jackie was really helpful and answered any questions we had. I would really recommend this house and plan to return before the end of the year
We spent a week in Mayo just outside Louisburgh. The property we stayed in was beautiful, very well maintained, bright and clean and had everything we required. Our hosts were very nice and helpful. We would definitely return to this property and beautiful Mayo.
A fantastic location, perfect for exploring north Connemara or just to sit and soak in the views from the windows! The house itself is very comfortable, spotlessly clean and has everything you need. Fiona and Pat are lovely hosts, helpful and quick to respond to queries. We will definitely be back!
We were all very happy at Hillview and found it to be a lot better than we’d expected - Good expectation management you might say! Unusually I actually suggest you might be well served in taking some new photos of the house which show how spacious it is, how many people can fit around the kitchen table etc, as we felt we needed to bring with us by car from the UK extra tables and chairs (not necessary!) However it would be helpful if there were a larger freezer as catering for a large family group day by day on holiday can be quite a task - We actually drove over with our own freezer! That was...more
We’ve had an amazing time in Ballyconneely. The house was perfect for our family, ie enough bedrooms to sleep roughly 20 people, spacious/modern kitchen and sitting rooms. The host and caretakers were friendly, very helpful and easily to contact via mobile and email. Everyone from 6 months of age to 82 years enjoyed the stay. Thank you!
Spacious & luxurious 4 bedroom house with beautiful views over a lake, out towards the Atlantic & Bunowen. Great location, 100m from Keogh’s pub/shop and Ballyconneely playground & community centre. Spacious outside patio, with BBQ and plenty of outdoor furniture provided. Outdoor lockable shed provided perfect for bicycles and other outdoor equipment.
Amazing location with 270 degree ocean views and beautiful countryside too Near to a lot of nice beaches including Tully Pier ( great for pier jumping teenagers and kayaking etc) 5 star accomodation with incredible sea views in the upstairs bedrooms and all mod cons . big airy dining room and cosy sitting room with wood burner too (Given our post covid times and restrictions ,some of the usual kitchen items may not be there ( chopping boards etc) so if you like to cook , just check ahead as to what you might need to bring. All in all a fabulous week-thanks to our very nice hosts, Veroni...more
As the title says WOW WOW WOW This little beauty is just amazing, just 5 minutes walk outside the village of Spiddal and in a perfect location to tour Connemara. The house is 200 year old but is maintained to a high modern standard without losing the old romantic feel. The weather was beautiful but I was half praying for the temperature to drop just so I could light the real turf fire. Edel the caretaker couldn’t do enough for us (not that we needed her) and the welcome pack was perfect to start us off for our week ahead. As Arnie once said “Hasta la vista… I will be back” John...more
We loved our stay in Renvyle. The views were amazing. The house is located up high so the views are second to none. Our host Mary was very welcoming. The accommodation was perfect for our family. Lots of space and fully equipped with everything you need for your stay. The beaches nearby were beautiful. All in all we fell in love with Connemara.
An excellent house with large rooms, generous space, straightforward design. We enjoyed it very much. Thank you Mark for your very friendly welcome and assistance in a few questions!
This property is of the highest standard. The view and location are stunning. We were comfortable and delighted with the host, the booking agent and the house itself. A surprisingly steep driveway turned out to be perfectly manageable and not a bother. Highly recommended!
this was a great place, loved separate bathrooms in all rooms. were I coming back I would try to book the same place.
Mooi gelegen, comfortabel huisje. Het heeft alles wat je nodig hebt en de openhaard zorgt voor de rest. Het huisje ligt op een paar minuten lopen van zee. En verder een prima uitvalsbasis om Connemara te verkennen.
This is almost definitely one of the lovliest cottages in which we have ever stayed in probably one of the most magic of settings with absolutely stunning views in our favorite and most loved part of the country. The owner was extremely welcoming. thoughtful and really could not have done more for us. We very much hope to return soon!
Brilliant stay in an very well equipped apartment. Beautiful views over roundstone Harbour. The apartment was extremely comfortable & we look forward to returning again.
Great location and very near cleggan Town and beach. Great facilities at the house. Wonderful stay for families with plenty of room
Great house, great location. I would definitely book again. A couple of great beaches within ten minutes walk.
Perfect house for us, family of 4. lovely quiet beach beside the house and very convenient for lots of things to do in Connemara, close to Clifden too. Scenery is beautiful. We intend to return.
We had a fantastic week in Kylemore Lake Cottage. The cottage has stunning views and is so comfortable and clean and had everything we needed including turf and logs for the fire. Geraldine the owner was very friendly and helpful. Our dog Charlie enjoyed it too we will definitely be returning in the future. Thanks to Siobhan in Connemara Costal Cottages who was so kind and helpful
We spend 5 nights there, a great spot! National Park just 5mins away, all shops and restaurants to. Owners are fantastic and the house itself has all you need. We really enjoyed our time there, and our dogs even more :) Highly recommend!
Such a lovely cottage, feel like leaving a bad review so others don’t discover it and we can keep it for ourselves ;) It’s fully fitted with everything and anything you could want. Very clean, lovely lay out and so spacious, really cosy at night couldn’t hear road or wind over mountains. Excellent location for us with our dogs as nice and quiet and fairly secure that we could enjoy relaxing outdoors with them. We couldn’t get oven to work but as the weather was surprisingly lovely it didn’t matter as wee bbq’d. Clifden is only a short 5min drive away. Just perfect
We could not have wished for a nicer place to have our break. The setting was so beautiful. The cottage itself was very cosy with all the comforts one likes and generously 'kitted out' with all that was needed. It was a real treat to spend time here, we could not have wished for more..
The cottage is a short walk from the village in a very quite location. Visiters have their own hens and can collected eggs everyday, a nice touch. Despite being behind a bigger property there are good views of the sea and the village. There is a small beach just across the road. We would stay there again.
House was perfect for my family size and needs. Well stocked crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Beautiful location.
The house was spotless with lots of attention to detail. It is obviously a house that is loved by the owner.Nuala met us to give us the keys and was available if needed but didn't put in or out on us. As everything was left so well laid out and organised there was no need to contact her all week. The outdoor patio area was a lovely place to eat and relax and had a beautiful view. The house had everything needed to cook our own meals and was well equipped with cleaning products. We will definitely be returning when we get the chance.
We had a wonderful stay at Caher house and were welcome by Theresa whom was always reachable on the phone if needed - the location is easy to find and in front of a small lake - about 15min from Clifden city which is perfect to plan activities in Connemara area. Count almost one hour though to rallye Galway but honestly Clifden beats it for authenticity and pubs like Lowry's just make it a place to go. The house is huge and over equipped with multiple bath/shower/toilets which is perfect for a stay with multiple couples - but there is a twin room which could be fine for kids. Would definitivel...more

Attractions& all form of age group activities. There is no official or signed Tourist Office in Clifden. Old Office closed ( May open for July/Aug?) Supply leaflets to the house. The house was excellent for a family needs& Angela de Courcy was welcoming , friendly & helpful
The house is in a beautiful scenic location. It had everything we needed and we used it as a base to explore the area. The house could do with a good clean. There was evidence of dust and cobwebs throughout the house particularly as there is so many pictures etc in the house. In saying that it was comfortable and homely. The road up to the house is very rough and rocky so be careful driving in and out of the house.
Brian and Siobhán were excellent hosts always to hand when their help or advice was needed but leaving us in piece the rest of the time. This is a stunning house with tonnes of space in a fantastic location. It is a little bit weathered/tired in places but for the most part it is in great order. It would be a wonderful place for a couple of families to stay and enjoy evenings together in the huge living area ideal for entertaining. The adjacent cottage could be booked for an additional family. We highly recommend.
We stayed here for a week in a July with our 3 young children and had the best time. Location is brilliant and a great spot to explore of that Connemara has to offer. The views from the house are breathtaking and the house itself is so cosy and plenty of space. Fully stocked kitchen and we had everything we needed when we arrived. Tully mountain is just behind the property and great morning with the kids climbing it. Letterfrack village under 10 minutes drive from the house and 3 nice restaurants to eat in and also a cafe. Even with COVID restrictions we managed to eat out for dinner most nigh...more
We had a wonderful stay in Westry Cottage. The location is perfect for anyone looking to get away from it all - no internet, TV or phone signal (unless you sit in the window seat) - it was just what we were looking for. The cottage is fairly basic but had everything we needed for a week and the views across the lough to the mountain provided us with all the entertainment we needed as we watched the constantly changing weather patterns sweep by. While the location of the cottage is secluded it is also within easy reach of Connemara's many attractions - a beautiful beach just a couple of km aw...more
Great location with excellent walking trials and beaches for safe swimming Renvyle hotel superb and facilities very good with great staff Outside house property requires garden maintenance urgently
Comfortable, coastal cottage with well sized bedrooms and good facilities. Stunning location and great base to explore the area - Roundstone, Clifton, and many attractions. Swimming from end of garden at high tide.
The house was very cold and the fire and radiators made little impression on the coldness; thank goodness for the electric blanket. I wish we had known about no TV as we would normally have watched quite a bit and no wifi either. We would not be renting this one again.
Down side, front door handle not secure, smell in ensuite when toilet flushes ? due to position of vent on roof. No live T.V Only two rings on cooker working. Little cupboard room for food storage. Creaky floors upstairs. Hoover not working. We were on holidays there the hottest week of the summer, the heating came on with the hot water. Plus side, fantastic location, great beaches and National park near by. Country store in village well stocked.Fab patio out the back with lots of outdoor seating & charcoal BBQ. The living area & bedrooms was comfortable with homely touches. Good suppl...more
Traditional Irish cottage in an almost idyllic location far from the madding crowd. Loved living a humble lifestyle. The cottage has everything one needs.. Fabulous walks and awesome views everywhere.
Beautiful location there are just a few things that should be sorted with the property. The house has damp on the inner walls in the bedrooms which leave a musty smell not good for people with chest ailments. The incline up to the gate badly needs repairing as there is a large pothole and a lot of loose gravel that cause the wheels to spin as you drive through the gate. The heating within the cottage needs to be updated it states on a laminated piece of paper on the wall in the kitchen that the fire heats the back boiler which it certainly doesnt. I found that out when the immersion switch wen...more
We had a great few days on Inishboffin, . Our hosts Brenda & Siobhan were very helpful before & during our stay. Our cottage was very comfortable and was ideally placed close to harbor, hotels, bars etc I cannot recommend highly enough a visit / vacation to Inishboffin. it is a beautiful unspoiled island with wonderful walks walks to suit everyone. We will definitely be returning in the future. Regards The Hughes clan
This is our thirtieth year at this location and we love it.the most beautiful view beaches ....peace and quiet.
We would highly recommend this property and this is our second time to stay here. The view and location was perfect with the beach only a short walk away (10 min). This year we were able to close the gate and the owners put up a mesh barrier which was great for our dog who could roam around the garden freely. We lit the fire every night which makes the house so cosy. We will definitely be returning sometime in the future.
The house is a lovely spacious house, we were 4 adults, teenager & baby and space wasn't an issue. We needed to call the owner to clarify location & they were very helpful & kind. The house itself is very very remote. It is a solid 10 minute drive from the village & the road is not safe to walk so thats not an option. The road to the house itself is just the width of one car so if you meet anything it means someone reversing to the closest gateway. These are not necessarily negatives I just would have preferred knowing in advance exactly how remote the house was. There are sheep wandering free...more
This was a great place to holiday with my family the owners of the house were brilliant and there was nothing too much for them. And for the Connamara Costal Cottages were amazing they were so Acommadating would 100% Recommend as from extra bedding to fewl for the fire were all included they were great
This very spacious house is ideal for a large group/family. It is located near beautiful mountains for walking, beaches fishing, Kylemore Abbey, Clifden Leenaun to name a few. The house is a student house and needs to be upgraded for tourist market. Some utilities were not working - one shower, cooker, lightbulbs missing, dryer clogged. However the host was most accommodating to help make our stay enjoyable. Recommended on the understanding of foregoing comments being rectified
Positives - Gearoid is very friendly and had the wood burner lit when we arrived. Lovely views from the back across the mountains. Neighbours at the top of the lane were very welcoming. Centrally located in Connemara so access to places of interest was fairly easy. Suggested improvements. House needs to be thoroughly cleaned and cleared. There were items such as Christmas cards and personal belongings in drawers in one of the bedrooms and living room area. Floor in the living room area was sticky underfoot. No shower curtain/screen so floor in bathroom becomes flooded. Kitchen utensils w...more
The photos of the rooms on the website looked really good, the people doing the customer service were very friendly and helpful but the property itself was awful and I could not recommend it. It was damp, it smelled of damp and it was nearly impossible to air it. There is a reason why there is no photo of the outside of the property - It is down a passageway from the pub. On the first night of our stay a customer from the pub relieved himself outside our front door. During the week we saw a rat outside our front door. Not good. The curtains on the door were about a foot too long and were a tri...more
