We hired Glenside and Woodbrook for a family 80th birthday celebration. There was plenty of space for 9 to prepare and enjoy a meal together. The place is well equipped and presented and the on-site pool and games room are very good.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The owners have taken great care to ensure as much as possible is eco-friendly and renewable which was great. The welcome gifts were generous too. The cottages were clean and well presented. The kitchen crockery, cutlery and utensils were of high quality and great condition. The instructions were useful too.

The games room was well-equipped and clean, the pool and sauna were lovely too.

Thoroughly recommend these.

Very helpful staff, brilliant place that does really cater to all ages. Very accessible site/properties with a range of equipment offered for those with any mobility issues.
So clean and well looked after. Lovely lady came in and thoroughly cleaned mid holiday. Everything was thought of even beds, dog holiday tags and a toy each for our furry family members. We had extra family members ask to visit with their new baby and were offered baby equipment to borrow if needed-so helpful. The welcome home made cake was so enjoyed and to have tea coffee and milk there when we arrived was really nice after the journey. We loved the swimming pool and to have exclusive use for 45 mins each day was great. Gorgeous views -So enjoyable we’ve already booked to come again.

Fantastic stay at Glenside, Wallops Wood. Great communication and customer service with owners beforehand. Dog friendly and a welcome dog basket goes above and beyond. Swimming pool was a fantastic resource in pretty terrible weather! Kitchen really well equipped, cottage, warm and high standard of furnishing throughout.

Teeny criticism - squeaky bed in one of the rooms and an ant infestation - but am sure this will be swiftly dealt with - hazard of countryside living!!

I have stayed at Wallops Wood before, but then the weather was good. I did wonder how our large family party would cope, given that the forecast for our week was pretty appalling. In fact, we had a wonderful time. The swimming pool is indoors, so there was no problem there, and the games room provided lots of entertainment. We flew kites and played games on the huge meadow, and the little ones went in search of puddles to splash in! We all loved the hot tubs. I hardly left the site for a week, but others in our group found interesting places to visit without having to drive too far. We ate some great food from the shop on site, too!

We had a lovely stay at the Glenside cottage with family and friends visiting, it was nice to have room and facilities to cater for all.

The weather could have been better, but we won't hold that against Wallops Wood.

We previously stayed at Wallops Wood in August 2020, but this time it was even better! The games room is amazing - suitable for all age groups including adults. The pool is also great, and much enjoyed by all the family, particularly our 4 year old grandson. The property itself is lovely. We had a problem with ants on the first morning, but the owners sorted it very promptly - even though they were phoned at 7.45am. Obviously, the hot tub was a great addition.

This was our second visit in 6 months to Wallops Wood Cottages. The whole experience from booking to leaving was excellent again. The cleanliness of the property, the quality of kitchen utensils and crockery etc, the beautiful views from the hot tub and the swimming pool are just a few of the reasons we chose to return, and it didn't disappoint. We went a group of 6 women and have to say Glenside is a lovely place to stay few nights!! Beautiful views from the garden making the hot tub experience magical! Especially if the sun is shining, with an amazing sunset! The cottage is very spacious and very well equipped with everything you need! Swimming pool is available where you book your private slot! Lovely welcome hamper on arrival adding the extra touch! We loved the wood burner! Very cosy long weekend. Happily recommend!!!

We had a wonderful weekend with family at Wallops Woods, staying at Glenside. The cottage was very well equipped, spacious and lovely and warm. The views were stunning and the hot tub was a big hit. We ordered food for our first night and it was lovely to arrive to find it in the fridge waiting for us. The welcome hamper was greatly appreciated and the kids loved the pumpkins they were given to carve for Halloween. It was a very relaxing weekend and the perfect place to celebrate my dad’s 80th and my 50th birthday. I would highly recommend!

This countryside retreat had everything for my family and friends aged between 11 and 75. We loved the great facilities like the well equipped games room, the exclusive bookable time slots for the large pool/ sauna and the great views from our hot tub in the garden. Even a small shop on site.The position of Wallops Wood affords a wide range of outings for all weathers in the county, well documented for us in a large and well organised folder. Any query was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Pre ordered quality meals easily available and much enjoyed.Thoroughly recommended all round!

Excellent location and facilities with a very well equipped kitchen. Pool was bigger than expected and great to be able to book out for each holiday let’s use. Shame that the sauna and steam room weren’t working. We had a great weekend break and would certainly recommend to others.

We booked into Glenside and the hot tub did not appear to have been cleaned - that evening it developed a fault. We were moved the next morning to Teal. This was a nicer lodge and the hot tub was perfect. All together a great stay for our annual girls get together.

We had a wonderful stay at Wallops Wood, the cottage was very comfortable with beautiful views from the lounge and garden, especially when in the hot tub! We were impressed with the welcome pack and really enjoyed the Victoria sponge and fresh loaf of bread. We made use of our allocated pool slot each day, fantastic size and very clean with a lovely spa pool to dip into at the end! The kids also enjoyed the games room, in particular the table tennis and air hockey.
Great location with Winchester and Portsmouth within a half hour drive.

I have wanted to stay at Wallops Wood for a long time so when our mums group decided a weekend away was in order, I put in the suggestion. It was the perfect get away destination and the cottage exceeded our every expectation.. if you’re looking for space, comfort and a hot tub, this is the place. The cottage and pool were exceptionally clean. The kitchen had every single utensil and serving item you could ever imagine, right down to cheese knives and basic items are included (oil, salt pepper, tea, coffee, sugar, kitchen roll etc). The cottage was warm and cosy with underfloor heating and a wood burner. Views from the secluded hot tub added to the relaxing vibe. Our only comment is the sofas are not that comfy (Glenside) - not a huge deal for us as we were sat around the table most of the time and it looked as though not all cottages had the same sofas. If you want to watch anything other than live tv, bring a device as the tv was Freeview only and not able to be “cast” to. Overall, I would absolutely recommend a stay at Wallops Wood. It would suit a family or group stay.

The quality and comfort of the beds are unsatisfactory. At this price point I would expect a much higher quality super king bed & head board in the master bedroom which is now the norm, even in say a Premier Inn.

Also the two sofas are lacking is size & quality & comfort making relaxing in the evening difficult.

We stayed here for the Christmas period and couldn't fault the cottages at all. they were well appointed and comfortable. if I have any criticism it is that they were over heated.

We enjoyed our time here. Our grandchildren used the pool every day and the games room was excellent. The view over the downs is beautiful and having a small secure garden was great for our small dog. All necessary equipment for preparing meals was provided for in the kitchen even down to salt and pepper. The provision of pumpkins for children to carve and the little quiz with Halloween based prizes for them to collect showed how much has gone into making guests feel very welcome. Thank you.

This was our second long weekend at Wallops Wood. The accommodation is lovely and perfect for a group of friends who like to cook for each other! We made full use of the hot tub, pool and games room. We liked the laminated walking guides and used them to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside. Everyone we met on the site (staff and other guests) was so friendly which created a lovely atmosphere. We will be back next spring!

We had a great week. Plenty of room for 6 of us. Enjoyed using the fabulous pool most days, literally yards from our accommodation. My grandson was particularly happy using the private hot tub in the garden. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. One thing I would have liked would be a lounger in the garden

Sofas not very comfortable. Other than that, clean, beds comfy, decent shower. Had to pre-book your pool slot- not keen on this as but assume it was Covid related. Stunning location, but be mindful country lanes have no footpaths, so everywhere by car. Per website check in at 4- but ours was not ready until 4:50, so had to sit waiting to gain access. Hot tub was too hot on occasion to use, lid extremely heavy to put on and take off, but this may ne normal?

We had a really lovely week here. The cottage was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The complimentary extras for our baby grand-daughter and little dog were thoughtfully chosen, clean and appropriate. The games room was really well equipped and covered a really wide age range. The only slight downside was that the indoor pool was a little cool for babies. I would highly recommend these holiday cottages.

A very well presented cottage with great facilities. The cottage is clean and the rooms are spacious. There is modern bathrooms in all the rooms and the kitchen is fully equipped.

The owners are absolutely wonderful to deal with and are extremely helpful.

This cottage is highly recommended and we will definitely be revisiting soon.

Excellent place to stay with a group of friends or family if you like the countryside. Not much locally other than a couple of pubs and walking but that’s part of the attraction. Dog friendly (get the dog basket), good pool, plenty of logs and kindling and a friendly team. Well equipped cabin, spotlessly clean, highly recommended. For dog owners be aware the garden fences are quite low, but the walks are good. Decent shops are some 25 mins away so bring provisions, but as far as the cabin goes it’s very good.

The cottage is very comfortable and extremely well equipped. We always feel very welcomed by the bottle of wine, bottle of beer, cake etc. The only quibble would be about the sofas which are not so comfortable, and we had to use an extra duvet from one of the other beds as it was quite cold.
The location is brilliant, with wonderful views. To sit in the hot tub and look at the beautiful sunsets over the Isle of Wight was magical. It is also so nice to stay somewhere for four days and not need to get in the car once. We look forward to coming back.

We spent a wonderful weekend at wallops woods.The setting of cottages is beautuful.The children particularly loved the indoor pool, espically as we got to use it on our own.welcoming gifts, even for the dogs. Will definately be visiting again.

Absolutely Wonderful stay that’s made easier by virtually everything being provided for you, was soooo nice to just bring clothes! Love the fact that these extras aren’t extra charges as well- what a lovely thing to do for your guests….. you’ve really thought of everything!
We loved having the pool to ourselves everyday and the hot tub at our cottage was big enough for all of us. The views were breath taking and being able to watch the sunset, each evening from the hot tub, was a delight!
We had a sainsbury shop all booked for our first day, which was another stress taken away. For the days you wanted to eat out all local pubs/restaurants were listed for you along with a map and a walking route if you were feeling energetic.
The only tiny snag was sauna and games room not being open but this cannot be helped in these uncertain times. It didn’t deter from our fantastic stay and we would definitely return for another family holiday in the future.

Lovely enclosed garden so the door can be left open and Luna (the dog) could wander in and out safely. Love that we got the pool to ourselves - made it more special. Can’t wait to go back again. In general everything was of a high standard but there were two issues which needed attention.
Bed side light was faulty and the patio umbrella was broken making it fiddle to erect.
When leaving we did raise this with the supervisor even though it had been mentioned to staff earlier.
I would add however the we all really enjoyed our stay and will visit again.

Our third time at Glenside, should tell you all you need to know. It is quiet, you can walk from the cottage without the car and the view from the hot tub is superb. We go out of school holidays and love the peace. Incredibly warm and comfy. We love it and so does the dog!

We stayed here as a group of 6 adults (limited due to Covid) and had the MOST relaxing weekend you can imagine. The accommodation was warm, comfy and immaculate. The hot tub with views across the fields to the Isle of Wight and Fawley Refinery were spectacular and the remoteness (dark skies) allowed for amazing star gazing evenings. We used the indoor heated pool (there was a rota for each cottage with a 45 min time slot which worked really well) and the jacuzzi at the side was very warming. Shame we could not make use of the Sauna and Steam Room but we understood this was due to Covid so we will have to wait for next time to make use of them. Beds were the most comfortable we had slept in and each bedroom had it's own en-suite which was great for privacy. The log burner just finished off a cozy night in with a glass of bailey's on ice! We walked to one of the 2 local pubs - nice straight walk down the country lane (slight incline on the way back) which was about 2 miles and took 45 mins where we had a superb Sunday Roast - this was the White Lion at Soberton. All in all an excellent weekend and we will be back next year!

5 of us booked for stay in Glenside. It was perfect. In the middle of nowhere, hot tub, swimming pool. We were provided with toilet roll, bin bags all the small essistianals needed. We all talked about coming back. Tesco delivered us a food shop and we ordered home baked pizza from a local pub. The same pub we walked to to get a drink (about 2 miles). As 5 busy working mums we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. Thank you x

We had a fabulous week at Wallops Wood. So quiet and relaxing with breathtaking views - just what we needed in this horrible year. The cottage was spacious and extremely well equipped. The pool was delightful and actually a benefit to be able to book it just for ourselves. The information provided was plentiful and useful particularly the pub walks and It is a lovely area with great local pubs. The Shoe and The Bucks head were both very good as was the Bat and Ball reputed to be the home of cricket. All in all a lovely holiday at a wonderful place - would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys quality accommodation in peace and quiet. We would come back in an instant.

We had a great time during our stay at Wallops Wood. The cottage was great and had everything we needed. It was very handy to be able to request extras for our baby (cot, high chair, steriliser).
The older kids loved having the independence of being able to play on the field behind our individual garden. We all loved the hot tub and bbq!
The surrounding countryside is beautiful and vast, with so many lovely walks and dog friendly pubs almost on your doorstep. Close to the New Forest too, with even more walks and countryside.
A week wasn’t long enough to do everything we wanted!
We had a fab time and we’ll definitely be visiting again.

Overall staying at Wallop Woods is lovely and we will likely stay again. The staff are amazingly helpful and kind and there is plenty to do nearby. The meadow for playing in is great. The games room was shut due to COVID but I suspect this would be a brilliant addition when it can be opened again.
We had some of the home cooked meals which were really delicious and we would use again but the extras are over priced- garlic bread for £10 when it is a £1 loaf from Sainsbury’s, for example, so take your own.
The swimming pool was superb and the booked slot system worked very well but many guests stayed beyond their time which didn’t leave time for the air to circulate between families so I think the rules need to be more strictly enforced on that for safety.
Over all the cleanliness was good but dog hair kept appearing over the week so I suspect there had been a molting dog the week before us and that was a shame.
The beds were comfy but the plastic sofas were really not and I would hugely recommend wallop woods invest in some new ones. It was a big negative for us as we couldn’t relax in the evenings. There were 2 armChairs as well but there were ancient and very dog smelly and hairy so the lounge area was a bit of a disappointment sadly. Even our kids mentioned how uncomfy the sofas were.

We had three properties for a big birthday weekend celebrating a 95th, two 65ths, two 60ths, 40th, two 35ths and a 30th. Despite the very Windy Wallops it was fantastic and the properties were superb. Loved the dog walking in Storm Dennis with a hot tub after and a swim. I have stayed twice now and both times were fantastic.

The little touches are lovely at Wallops Wood. On arrival you are greeted with a yummy cake , bottle of wine and fresh bread. My children both loved the pool and the outdoor tub. The location is a country one but still pretty close to places such as Southampton and Portsmouth.

We stayed as part of a family group and this is the best accommodation we have experienced on a family trip. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked and everything had been thought of, we began describing it as the room of requirements as we just know if we needed something it would be there. We have two young children age 2 and 9 weeks. Having all the equipment provided was brilliant (baby bath, travel cot, buggy, toys etc) made packing the car soooooo much easier. The cottage was great and we were all in the indoor pool every day- great when it was raining. We’ll be back in the future!

A fantastic little find for a relaxing week away. On arrival we discovered that all the basic essentials had been provided for - washing up liquid, detergent, dish washer tablets, dish cloths etc. All products were eco-friendly which was both respected and appreciated.

In addition there were provisions of milk, butter, bread, cooking oil, tea, coffee, salt & pepper etc and not forgetting the lovely touch of a home baked cake, juice and bottle of vino in the fridge, just to name a few.

The kitchen was well stocked with everything you might need - an abundance of crockery & cutlery, a variety of glasses (both glass & plastic), provisions for young kids and every utensil you could think of, right down to the garlic crusher.

The beds were incredibly comfortable, towels fluffy and everywhere was exceptionally clean. We struggled to get comfy in the evenings but then there were six of us with six spaces so it was bound to be a little cramped. The log fire certainly helped us feel cosy and warm though.

The ‘welcome pack’ for our four legged friend was very well thought out too; a dog bed, toys, treats, blankets, plenty of poo bags and even a tag to attach to Fido’s collar, stating “I’m on holiday at Wallopswood Cottages” with a telephone number noted. Can’t tell you the peace of mind that brought when Max saw his first ever partridge and bolted across the open field and disappeared out of view. He always comes back, but in that moment, in unfamiliar territory, I can’t tell you how reassuring that tag was!

Suggested walks to dog friendly pubs are supplied; we visited several in the area and were not disappointed once. Just a word of warning that the maps don’t give the best direction and the ‘walk times’ should be doubled if you have kids in tow!

It truly is a haven for dogs. With your own gated garden which opens onto a huge field, there’s both security and freedom - although some other dogs learned to jump the fence and sometimes paid you an unexpected visit in your own cottage even though the gate was closed! Might be worth bearing that in mind if you’re not ‘dog people’; we met a number of dogs there, all very well behaved, but with the inevitable barking as they played and met new friends.

We didn’t leave our dog alone in the cottage at all but others did. Dogs are supposed to be crated (provided on request) if left ‘home alone’, which these weren’t, so sat at the window barking constantly until their owners returned. If you do leave your dog a top tip is to close the curtains so the dogs are less stimulated by the outside environment.

Speaking of which... how wonderful to have your very own hot tub & bbq! They got lots of use along with the communal (and very new!) swimming pool, which on many occasions we had to ourselves. A new games room is in the process of being built and some basic gym equipment would be and excellent addition (not sure if that’s on the cards)

The only thing we would do differently next time Is to arrange a supermarket delivery for our arrival (following the instructions provided) Although there’s a small shop a couple of miles away you have to travel 5 or 6 miles to the big supermarkets (we couldn’t find charcoal anywhere local for example) Do also consider that there isn’t really anything to do outside of ‘nature’ or pubs in the vicinity and everything else is a good drive away. If you fancy a day at the beach, West Wittering is highly recommended!

Finally, I couldn’t possibly finish this review without a nod to the excellent service provided both in the run up to and during our stay. Emma, Francoise & Chris were extremely professional and proactive in response to any problems (broken toaster, WiFi connectivity issues) as were all staff we encountered; they couldn’t have been more helpful!

All in all we enjoyed an wonderful week and couldn’t recommend the place highly enough!

We were a large group (20+adults & 12kids & 3dogs) staying for a long weekend in October. We had done a lot of searching a year in advance to find the perfect spot before we settled on Wallops Wood.
We weren’t disappointed.
The cottages were set up exactly as we had specified for dogs/children etc but the addition of doggie welcome baskets and little gifts for the children in their cots was an extra special touch that everyone really appreciated. They had also given us extra table space for our group meals.
The cottages were fantastically well provisioned with plenty of dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid etc and treats such as Nesprrsso capsules and home made cake. All the necessary kitchen utensils and pans were clean and there was never a moment when we wanted for a piece of equipment and found it to be missing.
The pool was a wonderful addition to our stay and on a very wet afternoon was a great way to help the kids let off steam.
Fanstastic cottages, beautiful spot, excellent customer service. 5* all round from a group of well travelled (and sometimes quite picky) gang of friends.

From the quality of the bedding on the comfy large beds to the cake on the side and milk in the fridge, wallops wood have it covered. We spent 3 weeks traveling around England and our Wallops Woods cottage was our favorite place we stayed by far! We thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities, from a well-appointed kitchen, to comfortable beds, to the "grill with a view," and of course the hot tub. Our daughter probably would have spent our entire stay in either the pool or hot tub if we'd let her! I especially appreciated the incredibly thorough binder of area activities. Thanks to that guide, we had some lovely walks, went to an activity farm, rode a steam train, and enjoyed meals at several local pubs. The hosts are thorough, friendly, and very used to dealing with frazzled parents who might need a little last-minute help. I heartily recommend this getaway spot to anyone seeking a relaxing retreat in a beautiful slice of countryside.

As a large family group we took 3 cottages. All of the cottages are well stocked with plenty of room. A bathroom each really helped keep everyone happy, as did the hot tubs and pool. The team at Wallopswood were quick to respond to requests and very helpful. They checked on us the first evening to make sure everything was Ok. The tea and cake were also a lovely welcoming gift as we'd all had long drives. They also accommodated an early check in to one of the cottages as some if our party were coming from America and needed to sleep on arrival. This place is great for family groups and we'll be retuning.

We spent a lovely week in Wallopswood. The cottage was extremely comfortable and very well equipped. We spent most of our time sitting and eating outdoors enjoying the wonderful view.

We loved the view and the location, didn't like the slippy leather sofas but did love the arm chairs. Great log burner for the cold February nights, made a lot of difference to us to have the sense of a real fire. Hot tub in front of the blazing evening sky was special. Super clean, super well equipped.

Extremely comfortable accommodation with all modern conveniences. The welcome hamper was much appreciated and included lots of basics and goodies too.The hot tub was great for relaxing evenings. Lot's of good pubs within 15 minutes drive serving great food.

We stayed in Glenside for a week and found it very comfortable with lots of room for everybody particularly in the bedrooms, it was also good to have an ensuite bathroom for each bedroom. The showers are powerful and effective.
We had the family dog with us so access to the field for daisy to have a run round was handy.
the local area is good for families with lots of thing to do including sightseeing, days on the beach, shopping and eating out.
We had a couple of friends staying nearby and were encouraged by the owners to invite them round to eat and spend evenings with us which was very nice.
W e would love to return and look forward to a swim in the new pool.

The cottage was everything we expected from the description on the website. Comfortable and welcoming with Wine, Ale and Cake on arrival! Sitting in the hot tub, surrounded by idyllic countryside, listening to the owls and a fox and watching the lights twinkle in the distance whilst the black sky above is sprinkled with stars. Heaven!

Wow! Beautiful cottages equipped to a high specification. Wine, and home made cake welcome package added that extra touch. We took our large dog and found the doggy extras (blankets/towel/ poop bags/treats and complimentary toy)to be a wonderful welcome for him too! Plenty of information on local visitor attractions was available. Ending the day, taking in the scenery and watching owls whilst relaxing in the hot tub was just perfect. Highly recommend these beautiful cottages and will definitely stay here again!

We had a very comfortable week at Wallops Wood. Having all the equipment for babies and children provided made a huge difference to us. Good selection of toys, as well, and the kids loved running around in the big field behind the garden.

For the adults, the beds were comfy (and being mostly couples, we appreciated the zip link beds giving us the option of double or twin), we loved the hot tubs, and the kitchens were well equipped.

Our only concern was that we'd have liked cupboard locks in the kitchen, and a way to have the doors open without the babies escaping, since it was a hot week.

3 generations of our family plus 2 dogs stayed at Wallops Wood. We had a wonderful relaxing time. The cottage was beautifully equipped and furnished with lovely views across the fields and sea in the distance. It was in good proximity to some lovely little villages and a short drive from Portsmouth and Winchester. We had some lovely walks right from our doorstep which the dogs particularly enjoyed. We made use of the visiting spa facilities and chef service during our stay (as it was my birthday) and I would highly recommend both of these. The service we received was second to none I had experienced previously in terms of arranging the holiday and the added extras waiting for us at our cottage such as toys, cot, high chair and pushchair for the baby and dog beds, crates, bowls, treats, toys etc for the dog, all at no extra charge and all in as good as new condition added a special touch and saved a lot of packing and space. There were also some goodies for us! I would however like to offer some advice to dog owners, whilst the small garden included with the cottage is fully enclosed the fence is pretty low, I have one dog that likes to 'escape' particularly when surrounded by the smells of the countryside and he easily jumped the gate and fence which was a little worrying particularly at night as it is pitch black outside, once outside the small enclosed area the land is pretty open, we managed to keep him in check with a long lead attached (just in case)! This did not spoil our holiday and we would definitely go back, we will just be more prepared!

We stayed for 3 nights in Glenside and found the cottage to be warm on arrival - it was February. The rooms were spacious and tastely furnished/decorated. There were ample utensils and crockery and everything was very clean and to a high standard. We appreciated the food and drink items left for us including homemade cake. Our dog Leo was spoilt with his basket including blanket, towel, toy, doggy walk maps, and treats. Also the dog bed supplied was so helpful and saved us bringing one away with us. We loved the hot tub, garden and access to the field at the back of the cottage. Would highly recommend.

We needed somewhere to escape for a few days & this was perfect. Close to Southampton, Portsmouth & Winchester but in the middle of nowhere. Lovely bonus that we were able to take our dog & everything we needed was catered for & all to a high standard.

I went here in August with my family, three couples a seven month baby and our dog. The cottages are well decorated and equipped. The owners cannot do enough for you, from providing toys equipment for both the baby and the dog. The setting is beautiful and it's a great view from the hot tub. There is plenty do do in the area too. Great that there is three bathrooms so we all had our own. The kitchen is very well equipped too. Could not find any faults. Would certainly go back again.

We had a wonderful stay at Glenside. Accommodation was perfect for our family - very comfortable and modern. Every detail had been thought through. The children particularly enjoyed the hot tub and playing in the lovely field behind the house.
The adults enjoyed the BBQ and excellent kitchen facilities and comfortable beds!
A relaxing week away from our busy lives in London.

We had a lovely weekend with our daughter and grandson who had the freedom to run around from the enclosed garden onto a field with no worries as was completely safe for him with the bonus of other children to play with. We were delighted by the spaciousness of the cottage, everything was thought out to give it the feeling of home from home. The hot tub was an extra bonus as was enjoyed by all. Would definitely return.

The people behind Wallops Wood have thought of everything. Glenside was one of the best equipped holiday properties we have ever stayed in and the quality of the fixtures and fittings were excellent. They have even gone to the trouble of filling a huge folder with information on local places to eat and places to visit, all complete with very good directions.

First impressions can be so deceiving. We looked at the long barn-like building and thought that the cottage couldn't possibly be big enough for our extended family; how wrong we were! It is a veritable tardis! High ceilings and spacious open areas, each bedroom with it's own sparklingly clean ensuite shower/bath room and a beautiful view from the living area. It was the perfect place to hold a special family celebration for my daughter's graduation.

The kitchen was very well equipped, though I did find some of the cupboards a little high. I am certain though, if asked, the lovely Liz would make arrangements for everything to be at a more accessible height for anyone who may struggle. Nothing was too much trouble and the customer service was second to none.

The beds were extremely comfortable and there was plenty of storage space, electric sockets etc.. The light switches are all at easy to reach heights too. There are TVs in every room, but we didn't watch them more than once or twice, preferring to enjoy the view.

The hot tub on the patio was something we really looked forward to and we were not disappointed. It was, without doubt, the cleanest hot tub I have ever been in. Unobtrusively maintained several times a week by the site team, it was the perfect way to relax. At first, having this running under the bedroom window was a little irritating, but it very soon became 'white noise' and really didn't bother us at all.

If there was one suggestion I could make, I would say that a ceiling fan or floor fan would have been very welcome when we stayed as the weather was extremely hot and the cottage seemed to hold the heat, even with all of the windows and patio door open. I imagine it would be very cosy in the winter with the log burner.

I would have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending Wallops Wood. It was fabulous!

What an absolutely lovely place, views for miles from it's hilltop position. The cottages are very well equipped and you would want for nothing even down to the small things like washing up liquid, hand soap at basins, cling film are all supplied and a lovely cake upon arrival, plus a starter pack of groceries. All the crockery and cutlery are spotlessly clean and of a very high standard. The cottage itself was exceptionally clean and the staff are fantastic. The hot tub in the garden was great. Not quite sure why it is only rated as 4 star, as I really don't know what else could be done to achieve 5 star. We will be back and I can highly recommend a stay at Wallops Wood.

Lovely weekend away at Wallops Wood. Beautiful location with lovely view from cottage and especially the hottub watching red kites and a kestrel hunt over the fields whilst drinking our morning coffee. Excellently equipped kitchen. Bathrooms and bedrooms very high spec. Cottage very roomy for our group of 8 girls. Nice added touches of multiple hair dryers. Would not hesitate to stay again or recommend. Great pub 5 min drive away 'The Hurdles''.

How can I start? How about what an awesome cottage the welcome was outstanding, the accommodation was out of this world it does say that it is 4* but believe me when I say it is 5* plus.
Everything was there and I do mean everything. We had the time of our lives and if you know the area it makes it even more fun, with loads to do 1 hour from south coast, add a further half hour and you are in the New Forrest. With the underfloor heating we did not need to use the Log Burner this would have turned the cottage into a sauna. As for the hot tub what a lovely experience and we even managed to get our 82 year old Uncle and 78 year old Aunty in and boy did they enjoy that as it was their first time. All we can add is if you fancy a bit of piece and quiet then make your way to Wallops Wood Cottages. The local pub (The White Horse) does a great meal both English and Indian.
