Six individually furnished cottages located on a riverside farm. Salmon, sea trout and brown trout fishing on our own stretch of the Tweed. All weather tennis court. Excellent walking and abundant wildlife (otters, badgers, deer and fantastic variety of birds) all on the farm. Five minutes drive from historic Berwick-upon-Tweed and excellent beaches. Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Alnwick, Cheviot Hills and Scottish Borders towns all within 45 mins drive.
I know this cottage very well and it never fails to delight me. The farm is quiet and peaceful, the cottage is comfortable and well equipped, the garden is enclosed, which suits my active dog, it's easy to get to the coast and lovely countryside. There are walks on the farm with land beside the Tweed. Perfect. Best of all is the kindness and friendship of Carol and Sandy. Any problem is sorted asap. Carol even rang a dog friendly pub for me. Friends joined me this time and were delighted by it all. Thank you for a great, restorative holiday.
We have stayed at West Ord many times and this was special to bring our Dad back here after 10 years since we lost our Mum with a trip down memory Lane for Dad and just his 2 daughters. As usual Carol and Sandy made us very welcome, nothing is too much trouble and the cottage was up to its usual high standard. It was extremely comfortable and well equipped and always the lovely touch of fresh flowers. We had a wonderful short stay and hope to be back again.
Just had a lovely few days stay at South Bells Shiel cottage on West Ord Farm. The cottage was perfect, very clean and all the facilities you need are provided for your stay. The location is amazing, right on the verge of the River Tweed. Carol Lang the owner is lovely and so helpful. She also recommended some lovely places to dine out too. Would definitely recommend a stay here. We will definitely return.
We had stayed at West Ord on previous occasions, but this was our first time in Till cottage, We were satisfied with the cottage on all counts and hope that we might be able to stay at West Ord again. As usual, the welcome was warm , the cottage was clean, and the environment pleasant and peaceful.
