This is our second time staying at Beach Cottage over the New Year, and again it has been a restorative break and a great start to welcome in the New Year.

Seeing the sky change over the day, watching the waves, and walking out directly onto the beach is heaven. Who needs to travel abroad when this treasure is on your doorstep?

Lovely delightful cottage, light airy feels spacious yet cosy too. Everything you need whatever the weather. A lovely location right on the beach looking over the sea restful and restorative. Great digital guide provided pre trip with recommendations so able to plan ahead which was really useful and valuable particularly as we were there for a short break. Obviously owners very proud of the renovation and rightly so, lovely to see the photos of the progress over the time it took. Good too they continue to maintain. A real gem! Thank you !

We had 3 nights here, which was too short. The weather was fantastic, and so were the sunrises. The cottage was really warm, so we didn’t need to light the fire. So many lovely walks on the beach. Hopefully we will be back .

We had a lovely stay at Beach cottage. Being able to be on the beach in two minutes was perfect for walking Toby (golden retriever) and listening to the sea at night was magical. Everything we needed was provided and we loved the decor. We did feel that the cottage was looking a little tired, particularly the exterior, but it did not affect our overall experience.

Emma replied 105 days ago
Hi Amanda I am so glad you enjoyed both the cottage and the beach and that Toby did too! Just to let you know we have a week in February booked for redecorating the inside of the property and I am meeting a decking supplier on Friday to discuss replacing some of the outdoor seating areas. We will be doing garden maintenance too now the frosts are looming. Beach Cottage is so popular that I have to remember to book out maintenance time, so thank you for the prompt. Best wishes Emma

The great beach side location brought us back for a second visit. Improved balcony furniture meant even longer spells on there reading. A small problem with the patio door was dealt with promptly. A lovely relaxing place to stay.

Looked fantastic on the website which was obviously when it was newly built years ago, now is in need of some maintenance especially the decking downstairs which is a real trip hazard as my wife found out one morning , decking upstairs also very dirty, and shower was blocked and if run for a while overflowed the shower base when stood in the shower. Also quite dirty in places which we photographed .

Firstly I just want to thank our guest for his feedback and apologise that his visit was disappointing. We do email our guests prior to arrival to request that they contact us straight away if anything is not to their satisfaction, this way we have the opportunity to put things right at the beginning of their stay. Unfortunately we heard nothing from our guest until I read this review. The Housekeeper's number is also advertised in the Helpful Information folder. I telephoned our guest three times the weekend that he left the cottage but unfortunately he was obviously busy and we didn't get to speak. I have also requested copies of the photos he mentioned and have heard nothing back. A conversation with our guest and copies of the photographs would both have been helpful. We are aware of the decking issue and had already planned to replace this in early December, which is unfortunately our next available void. The decking was all treated in February with a product which acts once it rains, however it sounds as if this wasn't successful so I have organised pressure hosing for this Friday. The shower issue will also be addressed. I hope this goes some way to assuring this gentleman and any potential guests that we value and act on all feedback and we do have an ongoing action plan for maintenance. I apologise again for any disappointments and encourage guests to contact us straight away if they have any concerns on arrival.

We love Beach cottage and Anderby Creek. This was our second visit . What a beach this is, So unspoilt and peaceful. We found a great farm shop a few miles away with delicious ice cream. Beach cottage has amazing views of the beach and is perfect for a couple and our little dog. We have already booked again for next year so that says it all..

We had a lovely stay at Beach Cottage, the location is lovely and views across the beach are fantastic.

The one negative I have is you need black out blinds in the bedroom, the room is extremely bright from 4am as that’s when it got light whilst we were there in June, the blinds do nothing regarding light only use is to stop people seeing in.

Fantastic little place

This is a super little cottage, right on the sand dunes by a wonderful long sandy beach. Perfect for dog walkers, nature lovers and birdwatching. The cottage has been well converted into a California type beach house, ample room for two and perhaps a couple of little children. We visited on a very windy weekend but there is a sheltered hut on the other side of the house, which faces West. Well stocked kitchen items, very clean location. Would recommend for long weekend to relax by the sea.

After walking past Beach Cottage for many years we finally managed to find some rare availability and stay.

Anderby Creek is a gem and this gorgeous little cottage has a prime position. We had a wonderful relaxing weekend with endless blue skies and rolling waves just outside. What a view.

Great facilities. Kitchen well kitted out and gorgeous bathroom. What a treat!

The world can often be hectic and its pace tiring - there is just something very grounding and quite beautiful about simply sitting and watching the waves, taking in the sounds and the sea-air
love this place

A very special and quiet hideaway in excellent location.
Perfect place to completely switch off, views of the beach and sea to appreciate from both living area and bedroom.
The cottage has been sympathetically modernised, making the best of it's location.
Every detail for a comfortable stay has been thought of, and was very clean on arrival.
Will definitely go back, that is when I manage to find a gap in the bookings calendar.

The best thing about Beach Cottage is the location. The floor-to-ceiling windows upstairs and downstairs look out across the sand dunes and out across the sea. It doesn’t matter what the weather is, you can enjoy it from inside. In the winter the log burner makes for a really cosy feel. There are two Stressless chairs to sit in and enjoy the views. We have always stayed in the winter, it’s so quiet and peaceful, a real retreat.

Our stay at Beach Cottage was just a perfect way to welcome in the New Year. It was relaxing and restorative, in a perfect location overlooking the vast sky and sea. It was a haven from life and world events, a place to recharge, reconnect and come away revitalised. The cottage is elegant, warm, comfortable and with all the ammenities you would expect. I cannot recommend a stay highly enough if you can get in, it is often booked months and months ahead - which is no surprise as others must feel as we do, one of the best breaks away we've had. Thank you.

Lovely cottage had all the equipment for our stay. Unfortunately heat/smoke alarm was faulty leading to a sleepless night but was mended in a timely way by maintenance man next day. Stunning views, so pleased we visited. Only issue is the horrible uneven steps to the property...only those with good knees should book!!!

We were very sorry indeed about the smoke alarm and also very grateful that our electrician could attend at 9am the next morning. Thank you for your very honest comment about the steps. Unfortunately we don't actually own them, the locals say they are owned by the council. Investigations with the council haven't revealed anything unfortunately. However two years ago we did straighten some of the steps and add a hand rail in order to help our guests.

Gorgeous beach house in fabulous location. The beach is lovely too and great for dogs.
The only criticisms were no egg cups, no toiletries provided and would have liked more tea and coffee provided.
However these were small points for what was a lovely stay.

Very well equipped comfortable romantic cottage with amazing sea views.

Location has a cafe and restaurants nearby. Need to check for opening times. Good location for nature walks on beach or trail.

Ideal for 2 adults, though there is some small bunk beds tucked away in a small bedroom downstairs.

Wooden patio balconies to living room and bedroom looking out to sea. Both with good furniture. Wood burning stove if wanted.

Highly recommended.

A few days to recharge our batteries taking in the best views in the most relaxing place. All comforts were provided for behind any one of the many doors in the beautiful villa. Outside warm shower, entertainment galore (if you can tear yourself away from the view) and everything you'll need in this compact paradise. There are plenty of stairs to walk off those fish n chips but you don't even have to get out of bed to watch the sun rises. Rabbits, squirrels and a deer as well as plenty of bird watching (if you don't want to people, sea or ship watch). It's clear the owners have put all of their thoughts, love and soul into catering for their customers needs. We'll be back.

Beach Cottage is in an excellent location with amazing views - the perfect get-away.
The cottage is very comfortable with every need catered for and provides a wonderfully warm reception when returning on a blowy winters day!

The cottage is beautifully decorated and very clean and tidy throughout. Our only issue was that the bed is very low and not easy to get out of if you have bad knees or hips also an instruction manual for the oven would also be handy !

We will definitely be returning !

Beach Cottage is like a dream I once had: living on a beach with views over the sea, sunsets and sunrises every day and wonderful walks just a step outside the door. We absolutely loved our week there and didn't want to leave.

Beach cottage is a place you come to recover from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The location is perfect with stunning, therapeutic views across the sand dunes to the sea. Walks from the door, in either direction, are wonderful and which ever way you choose you will come across a coffee shop, either Seascape at the North Sea Observatory or Vista at Huttoft Bank.

The cottage is very cosy, well equipped and the bed is very comfortable. There is nothing nicer than spending the day out walking and then coming back to light a fire and chill with a glass if vino. Emma and James have thought of everything and go out of their way to ensure you have the best stay. Thank you both!

Beach Cottage is beautifully appointed and maintained. The cottage is cosy and very well decorated with some really lovely touches. The views are amazing and access to the beach is excellent. The cottage was clean and welcoming on arrival and the towels and bed linen were very good quality. We were very lucky to find availability over the Christmas period and would lighly recommend this property. Perfect size for a couple and a dog.
Many thanks.

Beach Cottage is a beautiful and comfortable place to stay with stunning views of the dunes and ocean from both the ground floor and first floor decking. The cottage has been thoughtfully furnished and equipped, and is cosy and warm even in winter, with underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove. There are other properties located close by but it feels very private inside.
We went in early December, when many nearby cafes and seasonal shops are closed, but this is the very best time of year to see thousands of seals and seal pups, e.g. at the nearby Donna Nook seal sanctuary. There are walks along the coastal path from the door, south to the North Sea Observatory (open all year round with surprisingly good coffee and food) or north towards Sandilands and Sutton-on-Sea (great fish and chips at Waldo's). We also enjoyed just relaxing in the cottage, cooking, listening to music, and watching the endlessly changing sea and sky. Thank you!

One of the loveliest locations I've ever stayed in. Absolutely stunning views, upstairs or downstairs, of the beach and horizon which were simply mesmerising. Fully and very generously equipped kitchen and thoughtful decor - a bit like a treasure trove, every items seems to have particular meaning like 'the hands that built Beach Cottage' or even details like the Beach hut key ring. One of the worst things about Thorganby properties is that they're so gorgeous and welcoming, you don't really want to leave them too much to explore the area :-) I would highly recommend and fully intend to make a return visit

To wake up to the views from the bedroom is just pure magic!!!
We stayed for three nights for the first time at The Beach Cottage , we had booked it a year in advance and was not disappointed . The cottage has everything you need during your stay , but the location is what makes this little gem magical . I would love to come back but alas no availability for a weekend next year until November .

I first saw Beach cottage on Sawdays and liked the look of it. The property is even better in real life. We loved the location, right on the beach at Anderby Creek. The kitchen has all the equipment you could possibly need so much so that we had to store our food in the bunk room wardrobe. Sitting in the leather recliners watching the sea was so relaxing. The bed is huge and comfortable. The downstairs patio is ideal for morning coffee and alfresco lunches whilst the balcony off the bedroom was a lovely spot for sunbathing. I just sat there listening to the rhythm of the sea. There are 4 different outside spaces which was great.
We were beach bums for a few days and loved it. My only complaint is that the cottage is pretty much booked up for 2023 so I won’t be able to return until 2024. Good things come to those who wait.

Beach Cottage is in a spectacular location, adjacent to the coast path and with stunning views of the huge sandy beach and sea. The approach to the cottage is up about 25 uneven steps, which could be a challenge for some. Indeed, the stairs inside the house are quite steep and may not be suitable for all. Beach Cottage is well equipped, with all 'mod cons' meaning it's easy to cook as adventurously as you wish. Furniture is comfortable, ideal for just gazing out to sea with that morning coffee. We felt that the dining table was rather small, and both TVs were smaller than we'd prefer. In contrast, the bed was a wonderful size and very comfortable, though a little lower than we're used to. Storage space was adequate, and the view from the upstairs balcony was very special for those early morning sunrises. We enjoyed coastal walks to Chapel Point - highly recommended for a coffee or light lunch, and northwards towards Sutton-on-Sea.

We had a perfect stay at Beach Cottage Anderby Creek. The cottage was lovely in such a good location. The weather was great as well which all added to experience. We had waited two years to finally get to Beach Cottage due to Covid but it was definitely worth waiting for. We look forward to booking again in the future.

Really enjoyed our stay at Beach Cottage. It’s a very comfortable place and has all the essentials. The bed was super comfy and the roof terrace was a great place to enjoy our morning coffee as the sun comes up. Nice powerful shower and a well equipped kitchen. We loved chilling in the reclining chairs of an evening and just looking out towards the beach. The only thing that could be improved is the garden. It’s not securely fenced in and our dog did escape once or twice. We would of liked to have been able to have the back doors open so the dog can roam in and out but unfortunately we couldn’t. It would only take a fence down the right hand side of the steps and I’d say this place is almost perfect. Otherwise we had a fantastic staycation and hope to visit Beach Cottage and Anderby Creek again.

We have stayed at Beach Cottage a few times - not as often as we would like because it gets booked up in a flash, so sometimes we have to book over a year in advance!!
But that’s not surprising - here we can sit in bed and watch the waves, or go for a walk along the coastal path, or just tootle on the beach looking out for the odd seal having a rest!!
I love it here!!

A positively perfect stay in Beach Cottage. It completely lived up to our expectations. It was so comfortable and so peaceful, with mesmerising views.
My husband holidayed here as a young boy in the late ‘40s at Auntie’s cottage and has always wondered whether her cottage had survived the great storm in 1953 which left its verandah hanging into space. And he was delighted to find Auntie’s cottage (a few doors down) is still here. His family all have great memories of holidaying at Anderby Creek and it was lovely to start a new chapter at Beach Cottage.
We loved the tranquillity of Beach Cottage and the area, the walks on the sands against the endless skyscapes and rolling seas. Simply perfect!

We had a wonderful few days at Beach Cottage. The cottage itself is extremely comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. The views are perfect for watching the changing weather out to sea and the access to the beach was a dream for our dog and we all enjoyed long walks along the beach and coast path. We very much appreciated the dog gate which provided a safely contained sleeping spot for our dog at night. The steps up to the cottage are steep and uneven, we were aware of this when we booked and they are a small price to pay for the views but they could be a challenge for some.

We stayed in Beach Cottage for a week in March; the property sits right on the beach, which is sandy, vast, and shared with very few others at this time of year. The cottage is quite small but just perfect for the two of us and our two dogs, it is very well appointed and lovely and warm with the underfloor heating working very well. There are two very nice Stressless recliners and a comfy sofa too; with the wood floors you can also easily move the furniture around to suit your day. The cottage is really well appointed and the wifi was good enough to use our Firestick to watch online. It was a bit chilly for sitting outside on the decking, but I'm sure that would be grand in the warmer weather, with great views of the north sea, which is a stone's throw away. Recommend the walk (or drive) to the North Sea Observatory in Chapel St Leonards for either cake or breakfast.
There is a good flight of steps up to the house from the rear, which is something to watch out for if you have mobility difficulties, and the stairs inside are quite steep too. Tall people need to beware of the low eaves, especially in the bathroom! The stove worked really well, although the cottage is so warm you didn't really need it! The only issue we had is that the temperature markings for the oven have rubbed off, so you have to guess a bit, but we did that OK.
All in all a great week in a great location at a lovely quiet time of year. On a clear night the stars are fab too!

We loved the sunrises, sunsets, lounging on the upper deck in the sun, the bath, walking on the beach at 7am with no one in sight, Poppa's bar when they were serving food (check first) and breakfast at the cafe!
We did not like the steps but that's an age thing.

I was very impressed with Beach Cottage. A lot of thought has been put into the cottage, lots of hooks on doors, locks up high (child safety), well equipped kitchen, nice showers inside and out! Solid fixtures and fittings throughout. Great view, I loved waking up everyday to the waves and sunrise. I’ve booked again!

Well designed cottage with modern equipment and good heating and excellent modern lighting.
Well positioned with excellent sea views. Access for baggage is a trifle difficult with 26 steps; steps are illuminated at night.
Good WiFi and TV on both floors.

Just returned from a long weekend break at Beach Cottage.

We love Anderby Creek as a location and the cottage just made the special place even better! Loved looking out over the beach being almost empty in the morning with horses galloping through the sea. To lunch time seeing families having a splendid time on the beach.

The cottage is so well equipped that we didn’t need to eat out and enjoyed have a meal and drink looking out over the sea.

It’s that perfect we can’t book again for several years, so that speaks volumes. We hope we manage to secure a further booking soon to return to a magical place. X

This is without a doubt one of the best properties we have stayed in. The views are perfect, there are huge glass windows so you can see the sea even when the weather means it's best to stay inside, and the quality of light is amazing. We particularly loved the comfy reclining chairs, the huge bed and the heated outdoor shower. I love sea swimming, so given the proximity of this house to the sea it would be a shame not to take a dip. I expected the outdoor shower to be cold, but it's heated. This made my holiday perfect. We noticed from the guest book that many guests return year after year and I can see why.Hope we can too, if we can find an available week! Thank you for a much needed, relaxing break.

I had a lovely, peacefull long weekend at Beach Cottage. I parked the car on Friday and it didn't move until I left on Monday. The cottage is comfortable and well appointed. There are pleasant walks up or down the coast and my dog enjoyed the beach. Just sitting and watching the sea was enough. I hope to return.

I had a wonderful stay at Beach Cottage! The place is peaceful, comfortable, homely and flooded with natural light. I loved the two terraces (especially the one off the bedroom) as a place to start and end the day and it felt like such a treat being so close to the ocean.
On a practical level, the kitchen was so well equipped with utensils / glassware etc and the bed was so comfortable.
All round, a lovely stay and I hope to go back sometime.

Loved this little cottage. Great quiet location with amazing views. With the beach running along the front and the East coast trail to the rear this is an ideal location for walkers
Cottage was clean and warm. Log burner is a great addition
My only comment would be regarding the furniture arrangement. I would have preferred the sofa and TV in the conservatory area as I found it hard to get comfortable in the evening with the current arrangement where the sofa and tv are at opposite sides of the dining table. I'm sure this isn't an issue in the summer as the TV wouldn't be on but in winter it would be nice and cosy.
Either way i would recommend this cottage to everyone

Relax, Chill, Spark-out...whatever you’re view of a break is, you can find it here. Anderby Creek is an isolated beach with a small community built around it. Endless beach with miles of walking in either direction and Beach Cottage is almost literally on it. View is brilliant. Beautifully Renovated in 2015. Compact & Clean. Lovely place.

We have come for our 3rd stay at Beach Cottage and we have had a lovely time! It is a wonderful place - even lying in bed we can see the sea. This morning we watched the sun rise! Despite Covid we enjoyed our time at the seaside - the weather certainly helped! We will be back - but not soon, because it’s booked up so far in advance!!

Miles of unspoilt coastline
The beach cottage is cleverly designed to take advantage of the sea views from both the living room and bedroom with decking to both
Its small but feels spacious and perfect for couple or a small family

A fabulous equipped home, clean, uncluttered, and a comfortable big bed!
We were fortunate to have dry weather and enjoyed walking along the beach every day and watching the forever changing skyline ! Rested and refreshed, we would definitely recommend this lovely house by the sea ! Thank you !

Beach Cottage literally is PERFECT. Absolutely everything has been thought of, it is spotlessly clean and wonderfully warm. The position is fantastic; overlooking the sea with amazing sunrises and sunsets. The bed linen and the lovely big bath towels are top quality as is the china and glassware. The leather reclining chairs with their matching footstools are immensely comfortable and the whole atmosphere is so relaxing. We had fabulous, cosy evenings beside the wood burning stove which was easy to light and gave a brilliant heat. We went on great beach walks and it is such a joy to be able to just step straight out on to the sand. I cannot recommend this wonderful place more.

What can I say this cottage in amazing! I have been wanting to stay since it was finished back in 2015. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed to get way for a few days!

The cottage was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Snug but fully equipped with everything we might need. The views were simply stunning from both floors, like having a living masterpiece! Both the sun and moon rose over the sea for us each day and it was breathtaking. Extremely pleased it was dog-friendly, she LOVED it and was completely worn out by the end. Visited Donna Nook, the North Sea Observatory, Alford and Horncastle for some local sightseeing and shopping. We didn’t want to go home! A perfect getaway.

Lovely place to stay in the cottage and really great views of the beach and sea. The cottage itself was really well laid out and took advantage of the sea views with very comfortable chairs, excellent fittings with lovely bed linen and towels. A little awkward to get bags etc up the steps to the front door and a slightly steep staircase upstairs to the bedroom but all very good. Easy to access the key etc

This is a very comfortable and well furnished cottage, ideal for a couple or a young family wanting to 'get away from it all'. The facilities are excellent. The Sandy beach is literally on the doorstep and stretches for miles. Sitting on the terrace or the balcony with a drink at the end of the day is a real pleasure. Nowhere demonstrates Lincolnshire as big sky country better than Anderby Creek - the cloud bar (featured on Countryfile) is well worth a visit.

This was the first time we had stayed at Beach Cottage and it certainly did not disappoint. All the marketing information available about the cottage is very accurate with the cottage being even better and larger than the photographs show.
Beautiful cottage with lovely quality fixtures and fittings. The location of the cottage is what dreams are made of with views you can only really appreciate from inside the cottage looking out. Having two decking areas at the cottage, both complete with lovely outdoor furniture, means you can enjoy both the views and the weather every hour of the day.
An amazing relaxing holiday in an amazing location, cannot recommend highly enough.

The steps leading up to the cottage are very uneven, overgrown in places and dangerous. We had leaks through the patio doors due to heavy rain. The cottage is beautiful but only suitable for sure footed adults and small children as the bunks are small. Overall I would recommend the cottage for being well equipped, generally very well appointed and beautifully situated but a little work is still needed.

Thank you for your comments. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and most of what people love about Beach Cottage. Our problem with the steps is that we do not officially own them and have had to therefore bring their condition to everyone's attention on our website. It is also repeated on all our Beach Cottage booking forms. We are attempting to address this unsatisfactory situation for both our guests and ourselves, and in the meantime can only say that we understand your concerns. We do also state on our website that the bunk room is only really suitable for under 12's. When you messaged about the leak we did send someone out to check it within the next day. The leak seems to happen about once a year when the rain is very heavy and in an easterly direction. This is not at all satisfactory for our guests, we do realise, but we are struggling to find a solution. This is, as you say work in progress and we are looking for a speedy solution. Kind regards Emma

Beach house is in a fantastic location, almost in the dunes. It has been thoughtfully furnished, it's well equipped, the lighting is great and the shower is fantastic. It's great for dogs as easy to sweep floors and direct access to the beach. The bedroom balcony allows you to see the sunrise over the sea without getting out of bed - hard to beat. It's a really special place.

We stayed for a relaxing break in January 2019 and had a lovely stay at this beautiful coastal retreat. We were lucky with the weather and had nice walks and fish & chips at Waldos! The cottage is well appointed and superbly located right by the beach and is the perfect size for 2 people and a little dog. We really can't fault our stay at Beach Cottage and would highly recommend to anyone considering a peaceful break on the East Coast. We will be back later in the year when the weather is warmer to make the most of the outside space and enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony...

We stayed at Beach Cottage for the New Year and had the most relaxing, enjoyable stay - probably the best New Year yet.
This is a beautiful cottage in a fantastic, get away from it all location. We stayed in the summer and decided it would be perfect for a winter break too. It wasn't really cold enough to need the log burner lit however we did it anyway and it further enhanced the lovely cozy feel of the place.
Have got another week booked for the summer and next New Years too - it's that good!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful cottage.

A lovely beach cottage which is more spacious than the pictures indicate. Well equipped and the furniture arrangements on the ground floor are very versatile.

The location is perfect with plenty of walks direct from the cottage. Don't let the time of year put you off, we visited in January and although chilly we made use of the outside shower. We actually managed to get our border collie under the outside shower due to the fact it was warm water, he hates water with a passion so this is a major step forward for him.

We all (including the pooch) loved the beach and walked to Sandilands and back one chilly but sunny morning, there was hardly a soul about, probably due to the time of year.

On two occasions we spotted baby seals which was an absolute delight and the binoculars in the cottage came in very handy for close up viewing.

The wine was a lovely touch, but some milk in the fridge would have been welcome touch.

Not a major issue but our only comment is that the cottage could do with a good clean, there are cobwebs everywhere and it was filthy behind the door in the bathroom, as I said its not a major issue to us but it's the attention to detail that counts when you are marketing such a lovely property.

Also the towels provided were of excellent quality but like cardboard so I had to wash and tumble dry them before use.

We will definitely visit again.

I can’t think of anywhere else on the East Coast from the Wash to Spurn Head where there are houses with a sea view - Beach Cottage has fine panoramic views from both sitting room and bedroom. Combine this with a tasteful, clean and cosy interior and you can see why we want to come back again soon!

Only spent Monday evening to Friday morning in this marvelous spot and was very sorry to leave. At this time of year to wake up to a vision of the sea rolling in and the sun rising is just magical. The cottage was lovely and warm and cozy with everything you would want for two (plus two little ones, which we didn't have!) but we had our little dog and she loved it too. We would love to return.

Enjoyed Beach Cottage for the 3rd time last week and just wouldn't change a thing.
Fully equipped and a week of total relaxation, doing nothing except reading, having long lazy lunches, and walking along the beach - exactly what we were looking for.
Bottle of wine on arrival is a nice touch.
Anyone staying at Beach Cottage will not be disappointed.
Also booked for next October whilst we were there.

As many have mentioned before us this property has a dream location-- beautiful views- A very comfortable dwelling-- With well equipped kitchen and lounge.
My main quibble being as a man in my seventies the access to the property is very difficult with very uneven tall steps rising possibly 20 feet--- Also the wooden staircase to the bedroom is very steep with small stairs. Apart from these things our stay
was very enjoyable.

Dear Stuart Thank you for your valuable feedback. I think both your comments are very valid, but I wanted to let you know that we are struggling to find out who owns the steps which run up from the car parking space to the start of our property. They are not unfortunately maintained to the standard which we would be looking for, were they owned by ourselves. We will continue to research this and if we can improve them in the future we certainly will. The interior steps are the original cottage steps and I would have to agree with you that they are on the steep side. I do hope that both these issues didn't detract too much from your enjoyment of Beach Cottage and Anderby Creek. Kind regards Emma

From the moment we walked in we knew we'd booked the right place! Amazing sea views from the open plan living area and upstairs bedroom. It was great to be able to relax on the balcony and feel like we were on the beach. A relaxing, comfortable and peaceful cottage in a great area. Plenty of walks from the cottage, so no need to go out in the car. We would highly recommend this place and we'd love to be able to go back!

We stayed at Beach Cottage as part of our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. Such a beautiful property - every detail is perfect & a lot of thought and care has gone into the design & layout. From the second we walked through the door we knew a long weekend wasn’t enough. The location is ideal just a stride over the sand dunes and onto the beach - it’s wonderful to sit on the decking or balcony & watch the world go by.
Can’t wait to come back.

I haven't been to Anderby Creek since I was 14. my family used to go there on a weekly basis but sadly when our caravan was destroyed in a storm we never went back, so there was a 56 year gap between visits! I was apprehensive about returning as Anderby Creek may have changed so much over the half century - but no, it was a wonderful trip down memory lane - everything, apart from the lack of breakwaters, was as i remembered it! The bonus was the gorgeous Beach Cottage that we stayed in. What a lovely little house, so beautifully updated and extended it was like a Californian beach house. The decoration and interior design were stunning. Beautiful furnishings and accessories and lovely bathroom and bedroom with its upstairs deck. We couldn't fault it. It was really emotional for me to go there, I have such happy childhood memories. I cannot praise it highly enough, well worth the money. The wine, flowers and milk were a lovely touch. All in all highly recommended.

Perfect location over looking the beach. Tastefully decorated and the log burner is nice for cosy nights in after an evening stroll on the beach. Be warned the steps to the property are very steep and not very well lit. Downstairs space referred to by the owners as "the beach room" is a wasted space; an addition of a larger TV and a comfy sofa in the space would be a far more comfortable and practical use of the space. The garden isn't completely secure. All of these niggles wouldn't put us of from staying again. Hopefully we'll be back.

Nicola from Derby stayed at Beach Cottage, Anderby Creek for 4 nights in February 2018

Emma Milligan-Manby replied more than 1 year ago
Dear Nicola Thank you for your feedback on Beach Cottage this is much appreciated. The steps up to the cottage are indeed steep and poorly lit, however at the moment unfortunately we don't actually own them! We are trying our hardest to work out how we can improve access, as the actual ownership is unclear. We kept the tv out of the beach room because of all the glazing, thinking that the sunlight would detract from the clarity of the picture. Unfortunately for our guests, as a family we are not big tv watchers ourselves and can only apologise for that one! I also thought long and hard about the sofa issue. We decided on Stressless Chairs with stools, so that our guests had the versatility of being able to move them individually from the beach room to the fireside and back again. It would have been difficult to have done this with a large sofa. The two chairs also keeps a wonderful view psychologically, along a clear walk way between the two chairs, to the view beyond. If any other guests feel strongly about this, I will of course revisit my original train of thought...? Thank you

A perfect retreat...

My husband and I stayed at Beach Cottage with our dog for 4 nights in January looking for some quiet time away. It was perfect. The cottage is equipped with everything you could need. It was warm and inviting in every way. The views of the beach from the cottage were the highlight for us, watching the sunrise and set was beautiful. The dog was happy to run straight out onto the beach into the sea every day and then return to the fire to dry off and sleep. We’ve returned rested and happy. Thank you.

We stayed here for a weekend break and before walking through the door we were stunned by the location. We entered the cottage and simultaneously said 'wow'. The cottage is beautifully decorated and the finishing touches are just prefect, and we especially appreciated the milk and wine on arrival. We had a quick look around the cottage before lingering on the 1st floor balcony with a glass of wine, listening to the waves crash on the beach 50 yards in front of us. Without doubt we will be returning here, what a lovely cottage, in a wonderful location providing such a perfect holiday, thank you so much.

The cottage was in an amazing location and was in excellent condition. Bedrooms and bathrooms were extremely comfortable. There were some lovely extras provided like a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge. The comfort could only have been improved for a winter stay by a larger TV. However this is a minor detail and the cottage was overall excellent, extremely well equipped and just what we were looking for. It was also great to find somewhere so perfect where we could bring our dogs with us.

Our second stay here, enjoyed even more than the first.
Booking is easy, information received before you arrive is excellent, and the cottage is just superb - equipped with everything that you might need and quality throughout.
If walking along the beach, trips to the local pub for long lunches, and completely unwinding from your normal stresses are what you are looking for, then you will not stay anywhere better!
Total relaxation.....
Have booked again for next October during our break.

This is a beautifully renovated cottage with every luxury you could need for your beach holiday. From first opening the door you see straight through the house to the sea and views from the upstairs terrace are sublime. We are local to the area and visit Anderby regularly with our spinger spaniel who accompanied us for our visit. We had lovely weather luckily and our 4 year old grandson stayed for one night. We were out on the beach digging at 7 am and he had a whale of a time! An amazing place in an unspoilt traditional part of Lincolnshire.

Do I really want to leave a good review so that other people book this cottage? No, I want to keep this treasure all to myself!
We weren't blown away on the approach to the property, passing by a number of caravan parks, parking up on a patch of grass and making our way up uneven, overgrown steps. But before you even step into the cottage, you can see that spectacular view from the front door, all the way through to the beach. Wow. As soon as you're inside, you forget about your initial approach. In fact, we never left the property that way until it was time to leave.
The property is clean, well-equipped, comfortable and stylish; we couldn't fault a single thing. The instructions/information you get when you book are clear and informative.
There is almost nothing around you (i.e. shops, restaurants, people) and that's exactly what we wanted. This property defines 'getting away from it all'! We will definitely book again.

This cottage has everything you could possibly want, stunning views and lovely local walks. Nice and quiet location if you just want to get away from it all. It is furnished and decorated to a very high standard and I loved the attention to detail with the beach theme throughout. I can't wait to visit again and would highly recommend.

The cottage offered quiet accommodation of a high standard, with wonderful restful views. A delightful find. A bonus was fabulous weather.
Unfortunately, all this was really let down by the area, which was run down and shabby. The eateries were substandard and of poor quality. The right cottage in the wrong location.

Thank you for taking the trouble to write a review after your stay at Beach Cottage. I am so glad you enjoyed the property. We appreciate your comments about parts of the area, it is something of a predicament. However immersing oneself in the cottage, the views and focusing on the beach and the sea hopefully allows other concerns to dissipate. As a matter of interest did you try the Fat Seagull, The Grange and Links and the Thai Restaurant at the Golf Course, which are all close by in Sandilands?

Hidden gem.

Whilst choosing a beach holiday in December may sound stupid we were blessed with very mild weather. This enabled us to use the beach daily whilst walking our dog along the miles and miles of un interrupted sandy shores. Whilst secluded the cottage provides a haven and is extremely well presented and the view from the main bedroom provides unparalleled views of perfect early morning sunrises.

We would highly recommend this cottage but just one word of caution in that there are not many places to eat (for those that do not want to cook) save for the Fat Seagull which we enjoyed on two occasions and to which we walked to along the beach approx 3.5 miles.

A big tanks to Emma also as the cottage is beautiful.

We were going to re book this cottage for November 2017 but we have noticed that the price has risen by 25% on this years price. We have therefore decided not to book this cottage next year. Whilst we feel that a price increase of some sort would be acceptable a 25 % increase in the present climate of low inflation is over the top.

On arrival at the cottage it was clear that every little detail had been thought through, and that quality was a key component in the design and furnishing.
Anything that you could possibly need for a short stay was provided.
A wonderful location overlooking the beach - I doubt I could find anything more satisfying than opening either the upstairs or downstairs patio doors and just taking time out, no gizmos or gadgets, phones turned off, and enjoying the sound of the waves lapping up onto the beach.
Enjoyed our weekend so much that we booked for next October whilst enjoying lunch in the local pub, but this time for a seven night stay.
Left feeling totally chilled.........

From the moment you turn the key and open the door your love affair with this idyllic beach house begins . The view through to the glass frontage is of sea sand and sky, sublime. Quality fittings ,furnishings and bedding. Underfloor heating and log burner. The bedroom opens to a glass screened upper deck with even more spectacular views along the length of often deserted shore and dunes, We saw amazing dawns from our bed and a sea lit by the full moon . Very special.

A beautifully appointed cottage facing the sea. Awake to glorious sunrises if you are lucky with the weather, which we were, only one day of rain all week. Sit on the upper or lower deck and watch the ever changing sky, or catch the afternoon/evening sun in the summer house watching wild rabbits playing below on the grass. A diamond in the rough as it is surrounded by rather run down properties and cafe/shop (for sale) near the beach. Hopefully this will improve as the potential is great. Long sandy beach for walks, a good place to come to read or write, relax and get away from it all. Unfortunately not a good area if you want to eat out except for the Fat Sea Gull a short drive away. Could not get a good coffee anywhere - all cafes have the machine but no one knows how to use them properly - which applies to most of the country unfortunately. The only let down with this delightful cottage was the state of the two cleaners (full bags/filters very smelly - had to clean them before use). Stainless steel saucepans (needed cleaning). Stainless steel frying pans (unusable until cleaned). Only a very worn scourer available. Kitchen scissors(didn't cut) and iron (base-plate worn) both needed replacing. Fry up had to wait until we went out and bought products to clean a frying pan and while we were at it cleaned the rest, so the following guests shouldn't have this problem. I am sure all this will be rectified as we filled out the form left for this purpose. A very delicious bottle of wine and milk in the fridge were provided and were very welcome after a long journey. If you like bird watching, Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve is worth a visit and has a good cafe. Lough and Alford were the two best towns nearby. Sutton on Sea has good fish & chips at Waldo's, a full to the brim antique shop Knickknacks and a good wool shop. The cottage is very well designed, the tub bath is fun and we enjoyed staying there.

Thank you for submitting your review. I was very pleased to read that you enjoyed the 'get away from it all' experience which Anderby Creek offers, with all the benefits of nature at it's best. I can recommend The Grange and Links for good food and I am so glad you found the Fat Seagull, a favourite of our's too. We take on board your comment about the two hoovers and we will make a plan to rectify the smell, it can't have been very nice for you when you took the hoover out of the cupboard. I apologise also for the marks on the pans and thank you for the photos. We have been out and purchased some extra product to prevent this happening again - thank you so much for attending to them when you were supposed to be on holiday. The iron is only one year old but I clearly need to buy a better quality one. Thank you for all your feedback, most valuable.

Beach Cottage is such a lovely, beautiful place. We are a family of 3 plus a dog and we were very happy with our stay. The cottage has been thoughtfully designed/decorated and we found it to be exceptionally clean. The view out to sea is so relaxing, sitting in the stressless chairs with the french doors open or sitting out on the upstairs decking having a morning coffee, just perfect.

Had a 3 night stay in Beach Cottage and loved it. Perfectly positioned to take advantage of the beautiful views. Very well equipped and nicely furnished - the owners have done a fantastic job. The steps up to the cottage are pretty steep and probably not ideal for anybody with limited mobility - like our dog which is just recovering from surgery on her leg. But we managed with no harm done and would love to return when our pooch is a bit more mobile and can run freely on the beach. Would highly recommend.

This is a lovely property which has everything you need and more. Very clean and comfortable. We had a great time with our two dogs. The beach is fabulous and dog friendly. Lovely shower and to fall asleep listening to the sea was amazing. The sun comes up over the sea and sets at the back of the property when you can sit in the little summer house in the afternoon sun.
Just to mention the steps to the property and the internal stairs could cause problems for the elderly or less able.

Beautiful house, high quality furnishings, gorgeous view but nestled amongst down at heel properties & a caravan park which let it down a bit. There was a shop on the caravan site to buy basics but a bit seedy,as was the cafe and bars nearby. We had bad weather, 40 mile an hour winds, sand storms and bleak skies, so not the best time ever. We are critical of the location facilities as this was our most expensive holiday let ever (£800), we felt that the property could've had a less luxurious finish and been cheaper to hire and would fit better with its surroundings. We were very comfortable there, however, it was warm and cosy, great to have a washer dryer, and a really comfy bed.

Dear Mrs Dalton I am so thrilled that you enjoyed the quality of Beach Cottage. I am not sure I understood your reverse logic of lowering the refurbishment standard as this is not the route we normally take, but I will certainly ponder on it. I did read in your guest book entry that the weather was good at the start of your week, I am only sorry that it deteriorated after that, I am afraid that is England for you! As you chose to visit during half term week your rental price reflected this. We as owners and nearly all of our guests embrace the eclectic charm of Anderby Creek. It is all about simple pleasures, a walk on the beach, watching the waves, the clouds, the sunsets and the sunrises, appreciating the protected coastal park and maybe enjoying the odd plate of fish and chips. Beach Cottage has even been inspected by Alastair Sawday's Special Places to Stay and included on their website. I might point out that there are in fact two properties in Anderby Creek which have been awarded their badge and I believe this is not just for the properties themselves but also for the location.

Great refurbishment! On arrival my husband and I and our 2 grandchildren were blown away with the the outstanding view as soon as we went through the front door. The decor was so inviting and relaxing. Loverly neutral nautical colours. The fixtures and fittings were to a very high spec. The children couldn't wait to check out upstairs and downstairs then left their unpacking until after they explored the sand dunes and the beach that was just metres away. There was everything you would need to cook a lovely meal. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans and utensils! Most people dream of living by the sea! We did for a week and it was very enjoyable. Could have stayed there for the whole summer. Leading out from the bedroom was a large balcony with stunning views of the sand sea and sky. Delightful in every way. Can't wait to go back.

Our stay was so peaceful, the view, the sound of the sea, the bird life going past the window, the open expanse of sand and dunes - all produced a feeling of well-being and relaxation.
The accommodation could not have been more welcoming, the facilities could not have been better, and we felt thoroughly pampered and welcomed.

My wife has always wanted to stay in "one of the little houses" at Anderby Creek, and now she has - and it exceeded our expectations,
The cottage takes full advantage of the location and the full height windows of the bedroom permit full sea views, even when you are in bed.
People with limited mobility, e.g. who walk with a stick, should be aware that the internal stairs are quite steep, as are the steps from the parking area and from the beach.
In all other respects the cottage is an absolute delight - we will be going again!

We had a fantastic break at Anderby Creek. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable with stunning views straight over the beach to the sea.Just such a wonderful unspoiled location with amazing sunrises, sunsets and starlit nights The cottage has been renovated with a great deal of care and thought and the huge French windows, both upstairs and downstairs make the most of the light and the vast panoramic views .It is almost like the outside and the inside merge so that you really feel aware of all of the nuances that are happening with the weather whilst tucked up cosily in the cottage. and of course, when it's warm, you just open the French windows and the inside of the cottage and the great outside become one. There are fantastic patios both upstairs and downstairs to sit, have breakfast, sip tea and just chill.I have recommended this cottage to all of my friends and family.

We had an amazing time. The cottage is perfect, very comfortable, cosy and the interior works very well. The sunrise in the morning was spectacular and the walks along the beach were really nice.

The weather was a little grey but it didn't spoil anything. it just made us want to come back in the summer when the sun is shining!

Loved this cottage for a short winter break with my dog. Fantastic views from lower and upper levels. All the mod cons for cooking, living and relaxing. Comfortable and tasteful furnishings with all the amenities you would want during a short or longer stay. Really looked forward to coming back to such a cosy place after long walks, especially when weather very cold, and log burner in place as well as very efficient heating throughout the property. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing break. Would like to experience in summer as location perfect for numerous walks and sightseeing opportunities.

We stayed at the cottage for a weekend, during our stay it was the first cold spell and storm of the winter. It was very comfortable and the views out to sea were stunning. We enjoyed walks on the beach and the peace and quiet.

Loved our 3 nights at Beach Cottage. The cottage is very well equipped and very comfortable. The views of the beach and ocean from the comfort of your chair are superb! We found it one of the warmest lets we have ever stayed in and it was very quiet. Our five year old dog is very frightened of fireworks but loves the beach, so she was very happy that no loud bangs at Anderby Creek!

We will be booking again very soon.

Thoroughly enjoyed the lovely beach cottage - the cottage fixtures and fittings, the views and for us the weather were excellent. We spent hours on the upstairs decking watching the beach and enjoying the sun! The cottage was always warm and comfortable. As the cottage was so new, broad band wasn't available for our visit and the phone signal is very variable - am dreading my next phone bill!! We also recommended a fan for upstairs as it is a very warm cottage which will be great for winter breaks but will be needed for summer!! Have already recommended the cottage to friends who saw pics of this beautiful cottage on FB and asked for the details!! Also plan to return ourselves!
