Curious Cottage is a charming holiday home in the heart of the conservation area of Deal. Just 50 yards’ walk to the beach and a few more minutes walk to the historic high street, with its independent shops, bars and cafes. The owners have provided everything guests need for a comfortable stay. The lovely enclosed courtyard offers a quiet and private place to enjoy a drink or BBQ after a day out and about exploring the local area. The owners’ welcome dogs as well, and there are lovely walks from the house to Sandwich in one direction and Kingsdown in another. Allocated parking space available to guests.

Curious Cottage is a really cute property located in the historic part of Deal. We loved the location and the accommodation, it was perfect for two adults and a dog. It's fully equipped and we liked the court yard area which was a great corner to relax on a sunny afternoon. Having a parking space was also a bonus as they are hard to come by in this town.

Location wise, the cottage was excellent. But it felt a little out-dated and unloved. The radiator in the spare room - where our young son slept - was very tempermental and the valve fell off in my hand when I tried to adjust the temperature. There were also no curtains - just a thin blind - which is not ideal for a room for a 1 year old to sleep in. The blind cords were also not safely secured which was a bit concerning. The spare room itself was not really fit for our needs as the gap for a travel cot barely fit and meant we had to squeeze down the side of the bunk beds to get our son into it.

The rest of the property was fine. The living area and kitchen served its purpose and the main bedroom was comfortable and a good size.

The customer service was good. We asked for a high chair which wasn't left in the property but was swiftly brought round when I flagged it. They also helped with the heating issues.

All in all, a nice enough property in a fine location but I probably wouldn't rush back given it wasn't the cheapest.

Kitchen well equipped but lacks a colander/seive. Wonderful to have a parking space as beach road usually fully ocupied. Cottage is really well situated for both town amd beach. We enjoyed our stay.

We loved the sunny courtyard, a very quiet location yet just off seafront and picturesque Middle Street. Lots of things to do in the area - the attractions of Deal could be done on foot, a thriving town. Sandwich, Richborough Fort, Dover Castle, white cliffs all very close by. We would have liked more tourist info in the cottage but the owner (who lives adjoining) says they will put this in for future visitors. A lovely stay and we had a cloudless sunny week.
