We had a lovely holiday in Walmer/Deal staying at the old bakehouse. A chilled week with lots of eating, throwing stones and 2p machines! The house comfortably sleeps 3 was spotless and has everything you could need. Sarah the host was amazing. Definitely try the Turkish restaurant- was really good! Deal castle is interesting to walk around with lots of things to do and listen to. Couple of feedback points, a small bbq in the garden I think would be good (although the weather while we were there wouldn’t have allowed for this!) and the shower could do with being a little hotter. Thankyou!
We have stayed in The Artists House 4 times and each time has been brilliant. We love the light and space, plus all of Steve's colourful paintings. The kitchen area is small but has everything we need. We never watch much TV there as there are so many interesting books to read. The bed is extremely comfortable with a warm natural duvet and pillows. It is quiet and yet just a few minutes from everything, the beach, the High Street with all it's great shops and good restaurants. Whatever the weather we enjoy being in Deal and staying at The Artists House.
The house was just as described - really great and well equipped. We were a family of multi-generations and the good amount of rooms and space suited us well. We spent a lot of time in the lovely kitchen/family room, ate in the dinning room and enjoyed the use of the 2 lounges for those that did/didn't want to watch television. The weather was good so we were able to use the outdoor space which had plenty of seating and tables. Two bathrooms were great and always hot water, plus the downstairs loo a bonus. Yes, stairs are steep but elderly parent managed fine. Location very convenient for beac...more
We loved everything about this cottage. It was extremely comfortable with everything we could possibly need and beautifully and imaginatively furnished. It actually felt like home from the minute we walked in. Although we had some rain we were able to sit outside and watch the moorhens on the pond and the dawn chorus was fabulous. There are many good walks from the front door and a short walk up to the village which has a good pub and many useful shops. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful stay at The Admiral Penn. The house has been beautifully converted into a very high spec holiday house. Each room has an enormous bed with lovely bedding and a fabulous bathroom with underfloor heating. The kitchen and dining room are very well equipped and spacious. The jewel in its crown is the cinema room. A fantastic space, particularly if you are staying with teenagers! Deal itself is a lovely town with lots of nice restaurants and pubs.
What a gem. Location with a distant sea-view, close to the village and beach and pub! Spotlessly clean, small but well planned and neat as a pin. Everything you need for a holiday. Including some lovely goodies and 1st morning necessities! 2 tiny improvements I'd like to suggest: a few towel hooks on doors in the rooms for hanging up towels. Also a range extender for wi-fi in the lounge/dining area. signal loss from the front of house to back was very significant. Totally loved it and would visit again!
We had a wonderful week staying at Highfield. It's a beautifully furnished house, spacious with very comfy beds and lovely views. Town and sea are a mere stroll away. The garden is delightful with great outdoor furniture to enjoy on sunny days. We love Deal and this was perfect for us.
Lovely comfortable property. Excellent standard. Outdoor facilities good. 5 minutes walk to the beach.Plenty of things to do in the area.
Four of us shared the flat so we could meet friends and enjoy being back in Deal, our home town. The weather was perfect and the patio attached to the flat was a real boon. We hope to be able to use the flat again sometime next year. The staff at Keepers Cottages could not have been more helpful and welcoming.
We stayed at keepers cottage and had a fantastic stay . Every thing you show is what you get and more. The hosts are brilliant and make you so welcome. Wow what a gem we have found cannot wait to go back .
We had a lovely stay at Pebbles. The house is well equipped and comfortable. The seaside decor adds to the seaside experience and the garden is lovely. It’s in a good location and we would definitely look to stay here next time we stay in Deal.
The house was perfect for our needs - very comfortable, plenty of room, lovely light rooms and a fab sunny terrace. Easy to walk into Deal, especially along the coastal path, beautiful views from three bedrooms and the sitting room. The sun trap terrace was roomy and used a lot. Lovely coffee spots close by, good anD interesting High Street, very good restaurants. We would stay again!
On arrival we were met by Rosie who showed us around the property, it was lovely and clean with a nice enclosed garden. The property comes with the use of a private beach hut about a minutes walk away. We later met Nigel Roses daring assistant (otherwise known as dad) who lives next door. He couldn't have been more helpful from offering the use of an extra bike when our daughter turned up, local advice on where to go, and all round friendliness during our stay. We were very lucky with the weather enjoying lots of sunny hours, food and drinks sat outside the beach hut. The beach hut is has a ...more
Cosy, clean, quiet and had everything you could need for a short break. Close to the seafront and opposite a great cafe for breakfast!
Excellent holiday property. Light, airy, modern, well-equipped, tastefully decorated, plenty of room. Quiet location, but close to everything. We thought it was really good and would certainly stay there again.
A perfect location. Metres from the beach and local pub. Loved sitting on the balcony and relaxing (also making others jealous as they walked by. This place surely has the best location in Kingsdown) Interiors were spotless with plenty of room for our whole family. A lovely big walled garden also with large comfortable chairs to enjoy the sunshine We would highly recommend for quality, location and overall comfort factor.
We were 2 adults, 1 baby and small child staying over a long weekend in September. The perfect cottage and location for our seaside break! Kingsdown Beach was ideal for us. The Zetland Arms pub a short walk down a lane of gorgeous cottages. Deal is a short drive away with great restaurants and a lovely pier. The cottage itself was great for us, very steep stairs for a baby which is something to note. Thank you Keepers Cottages for our stay, we loved it and will be back!
The cottage was clean, comfortable and in a great position for restaurants and pubs. There’s lots to do in the area and we really enjoyed our stay.
The accommodation was quirky, but fun and tasteful. it was ideal for getting to explore the area, lots of easy walking along the coastline
Lovely we’ll furnished house in the perfect location near the sea and the shops on the High Street. The house had lovely finishing touches and was spotlessly clean.
We had a great holiday here and loved the location of the cottage. Plenty of space and extremely well equipped. Easy walk to town and beach.
As two couples staying for a few days in Deal, we wanted a location near to the beach, pier and interesting shops. China Cottage met all the criteria. Although parking is not available immediately outside, it wasn’t a problem. We were parked outside to unload our luggage & free parking was only a short walk away. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Although the bedrooms were small, this was expected based on the age of the building. We would definitely book again!
Lovely house. Surprising heat gain, especially in the children’s bedroom for what is in effect a new build architect designed home. It wasn’t even especially warm weather during our stay. Everything else was first class.
We spent a very comfortable three nights in this delightful and homely house.. Everything we needed was included and I cannot fault it. As a bonus it also has a very pretty courtyard garden.
Amazing house. Perfect for families. Excellent facilities. We all loved it. Great customer service too. Would love to go back. The kids thought it was the best and the trampoline was a huge hit.
Our family of five had a lovely time in a wonderful house with a real factor. It's immaculately presented and in a great location with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Greg & Naomi were perfect hosts and I'd highly recommend it for any family looking to stay in Margate close to the sea.
Wonderfully located property. I stayed with my sons 23 and 11 for a fortnight. The property was clean, tidy and very well decorated. It was nice to see local art rather than the usual beach themed decoration. Kitchen was really well equipped and we cooked meals after shopping local on high street greengrocers, butchers, bakery and harbour for fish. Only 1 groundfloor bathroom but not an issue for 3 of us. Courtyard garden sunny all day until 5pm ish. Locked our bikes under a covered area in garden accessed by a back gate. Bedrooms had loads of space and were comfortable. Lovely bedding and ...more
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautifully designed house, it was comfortable, spotlessly clean and the communications were brilliant too. We loved the unique woodburner arrangement and the fabulous kitchen diner. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful and a pleasure to use. We found everything we wanted to cook evening meals as still couldn't eat in restaurants. The house is just round the corner from the market and a very short stroll to the beach. Just perfect, thank you!
Lovely apartment, tastefully restored to a very high standard. We loved it! Quiet position in a pretty village with all amenities yet close enough to visit all the attractions on the Kent coast. For us, handy for the euro tunnel. We would certainly recommend and will return.
Lovely property, well equipped, clean and comfortable. nicely furnished and decorated with some original features and interesting finishing touches. Entrance on first floor and layout requires lots of stairs ; narrow and steep to top floor ensuite bedroom. Great location for short walk to town and beach but petrol station directly opposite and location on main road made it a bit noisy at times especially when the windows were open. The well stocked shop (Budgens) at the petrol station was very handy though. Driveway parking was a bonus but difficult to reverse out onto busy main road. Lots ...more
Easy and comfortable and convenient. Very close to the centre of town and easy access to local amenities!
Lovely cottage, great location. Very comfortable and well equipped. Only criticism was there were a lot of dog hairs downstairs. I appreciate it was a dog friendly cottage, but it hadn’t been vacuumed thoroughly.
It would take a week's holiday to merely find all the various books around at the appropriately named Writer's Cottage! There is a luxurious bath and a cute garden, and the well-stocked honesty bar was a lovely touch. Bonus points for being on the more independent and foodie end of the High St.
Downs Cottage is absolutely stunning. Never stayed in a place quite so whimsically decorated (never thought I would be taking a bath with a lioness keeping guard) while at the same time fitted out to a very high standard (taking away loads of ideas for our own kitchen reno!) You can tell it’s a much loved holiday home for the owners which is charming but can sometimes feel a bit like you are intruding on someone’s private space. Kingsdown is a wonderful village with a fantastic pub and great views while being in east walking distance of Walmer and Deal with a lot more amenities. Servic...more
We stayed here for a week and can thoroughly recommend it. 'The Little House' was small but perfectly adequate for a couple, and was very well equipped and comfortable, in a great location for exploring the Kent coast and Canterbury. Walmer and Deal castles are both within walking distance. Deal itself is a superb town, with some fine independent shops and good restaurants.
Gorgeous cottage in a great location in the centre of Deal. Perfect for a family of 4 or two couples. A bonus that the bathroom is upstairs. Very pretty enclosed front garden that felt really private. We would definitely visit again.
7 Alfred Square is a fantastic property in a brilliant location. We all had a lovely week, thank you.
Directions to the apartment were good. Access for unloading luggage and carrying it up stairs to the front door less so. Unlimited free parking is about 15 minutes walk away. So beware if, like us, you are getting on a bit and not 100%. Inside, all was pristine, with low levels of lighting in most rooms. Furnishings were good and flexibility of seating very much so. Weather was sunny and warm so it took us a while to realise that there was no hot water. A call to Keepers quickly bore fruit and a plumber soon corrected it. Some of the initial guidance for the property could be updated; the ...more
Only suitable for 2 adults and 1 child. We were constantly looking for a parking space nearby so unloaded the car outside then would find somewhere to park. A good location with beach just over the road. If you have a child beware there are far to many ornaments so you might want to remove them.
We really enjoyed our stay at Bowden Lodge . There were eight 70 year olds who were booked for last year but because of Covid, it was moved to this year. The accommodation is amazing everything you would want for a relaxing break. The size of the house and the grounds are wonderful. You do need a car to get about but my husband and I did a couple of long walks , one to St Margaret’s and another nearly into Deal. There are 3 pubs close by but only one the Zetland did food which is ok for pub grub, but the setting on the beach is amazing. They have thought of most things to make your stay exc...more
We throughly enjoyed our stay, the loft was in an excellent position near the sea front and all the amenities of Deal. The flat was clean, comfortable and easy to relax in.
We loved staying in Captain's Cottage, Deal. The house was very well equipped, clean and tidy - and it felt really homely. We stayed with our children and Camilla and the team provided excellent instructions and information on the local area. Parking was a bit of a juggle as the road has restricted parking, but it certainly didn't spoil the holiday - just worth noting if you need car access close by. I would definitely recommend using Keepers Cottages and hope to be paying another visit to this lovely part of the world.
Spacoius and comfortable house and very dog friendly. Lovely sunny enclosed garden, everything you could need. Very helpful owner. Minutes from the beach and very centrally situated for walking to both Deal and Walmer.
Nice flat in a quiet location. Short walk to the beach and a superb pub close by. Highly recommended.
Our first impression of the property was a tad alarming, as the fron door area was very dirty and uncared for as was the shared entrance. Although this is a shared entrance with the accommodation(s) above, unsure how many as we heard a lot of footfall and coming and going of the front door, it is also the rented properties guest’s first impression. However once inside the apartment nothing could be further from the first impressions, it was very clean, bright and well maintained. It was in great location with a short walk to the beach and all the other amenities. It is laid out well with 2 toi...more
Overall, this was a lovely house, and we really enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room for us all, every amenity we could have wanted was there, along with ample parking for our five cars. The proximity to a frequent bus service was extremely useful, especially for bus pass users! There were a few maintenance issues, including a bed that partially collapsed towards the end of our stay, and couldn't be repaired while we were there. Some kitchen chairs need repairing. The spacious kitchen is an asset, but, for our group, we would have appreciated more work surface and empty cupboard space...more
The cottage is a wonderful haven, the charming front garden is an invitation into the welcoming, cosy space within. The rooms all flow through comfortably and the decor has a great beach vibe. The kitchen is well equipped and the shower is great. The garden is sunny with perfect shady spots and easy access for bikes to be stored at the rear. Fantastic to be able to go straight onto beach pretty much from both rear and front gardens. The sofas do not offer the best comfort and the dining area is a bit dark, particularly in Winter. We resolved this by putting a side lamp in the far corner ...more
This was our second stay at Tavistock and hopefully there will be more to come. We love the property, especially the living space and the cottage garden. The location couldn’t be better. A long weekend in Deal is the perfect tonic and we look forward to our next return!
We enjoyed our stay in Mary's Cottage, so handy for the beach and the pub, and very dog-friendly. We could have done with an empty cupboard in the kitchen, to store the food we had brought, there was nowhere to put it away. The stairs are very steep, it would feel more safe and secure to have stair gates at the top of both flights of stairs. The top bedroom felt a bit cramped, not much space for standing up straight. The garden is lovely and all the furniture was very comfortable.
Excellent location, lovely town. Comfortable sofas needed in snug, proper shower desperately needed!
Trafalgar Cottage is light airy and spacious. Perfect for sunny days by the beach and when it is raining or blustery, cosy and welcoming for staying in. The garden seems to be a sun trap so even when it was cold and the sun was shining, we could sit out in sunny corners. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The living areas are well thought out and provide enough seating and plenty of scope for families to be together or get a little space away from each other! The location is wonderful - plenty of walks available or simply sitting on the beach staring at the sea. Would suggest ...more
Loved our stay at The Victory. House, location, morning swims couldn’t ask for more! Great Vinyl and art to boot.
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It's in walking distance to the sea & town which has really nice restaurants, bars & shops. It was also a fab base to visit the Kent coastline including Whitstable, Broadstairs & the RHDR railway. Deal is a very nice, friendly place. We'd love to visit again soon.
We stayed at The Blue Lodge in September/October and was very impressed by the standard of the accommodation. Everything had been thought off and we wanted for nothing. The lodge was warm with plenty of hot water and incredibly comfortable. The owners are nearby if you need anything but are not at all intrusive. Both are lovely people and helped make our stay perfect (except for the weather) The location meant you could walk into Deal or down to the Seafront and with a fantastic ice cream parlour almost on the doorstep , what more could anyone want. One thing that would help with loc...more
We had a wonderful time in deal The house was well equipped and very clean Location perfect! No negative points at all!
This is a beautiful, well maintained and a very high standard of fixtures, fittings and houseware. Might be an issue if you are tall due to low ceilings/doorways and a very steep winding stairway. However that said when booking such an old property that should be expected. Wonderful stay here and in Deal. Its not lost its charm. Well done everyone.
We stayed @ The Pilots cottage for a week from 3-10 September. The cottage is in the perfect location a few minutes from the beach and a few minutes from the high street. We love the conservation area where the Pilots cottage is located and it was perfect for us. We did not really need to speak to anyone so difficult to answer the customer service question. Only things I can think of were so minor- the bathroom door slides and is on a runner and often comes off of the run so it is difficult to open when it is closed so I had to be rescued quite a lot! Also some cushions for the garden furnitu...more
A really comfortable house, full of character, in a fabulous location. Town centre, pubs, restaurants and beach all within easy walking distance. As a party of six adults we found the accommodation was well suited to our needs. Our only disappointment was that the courtyard garden had not been well maintained.
My family and I had a lovely stay here, the apartment was clean, comfortable and modern with amazing sea views, all the mod cons you might need (as long as you don’t mind climbing some stairs!) and in a great location for Walmer and to walk into Deal
We had a great stay in Middle Street - an excellent location and a very comfortable and quirky house to stay in. Near the sea and shops with a lovely garden to relax in.
Very nice boldly painted cottage with big bird theme! Comfortable master bedroom with rather small en-suite. Two other bedrooms, one only really suitable for children. Main bathroom downstairs could be inconvenient to some renters. Exceptional kitchen with range cooker, dishwasher would be nice but my husband was happy washing up! No recycling information on show on notice board in the kitchen. Weather was appalling but outside patio very welcome. Stairs were very steep if not mobile, bit of an effort for our 13 year old dog! Lovely location close to the beach. Parking information ver...more
The external building is dilapidated to be honest which is a shame because it is an inaccurate introduction to the wonderfully cosy apartment you will find inside. There is a large table for dining/work space, a very comfortable couch and a few board games. The heat settings in the house are great as well. The main room has a partition that has an addiitonal bunk bed that makes it a four sleeper. There is no second bedroom. The building is on the seafront of a very still town - great for walks and quiet days indoors.
