Tucked away at the end of a quiet track, Dolphins Leap offers something unique - total seclusion, breathtaking sea views, and a sense that you have truly escaped. Perched on the Cliffs, high above St Margaret’s Bay, this is a place where you can relax, breathe in the sea air and watch the ships pass below. On a clear day, you can even see France across the Channel. The house sits in a large private garden with uninterrupted views and plenty of space to unwind. An old lighthouse, soon to be restored, stands proudly within the grounds, adding a sense of history. There are multiple seating areas in the garden so you can follow the sun all day, a firepit to enjoy long evenings outdoors and there's even a hot tub and a sauna where you can enjoy the spectacular sea views. For outdoor cooking, there's a Green Egg BBQ and a traditional charcoal grill. Inside, the house is light, welcoming and thoughtfully put together. The newly renovated kitchen is well-equipped for preparing home-cooked meals, and the sitting room has an open fire, for chillier evenings. There is also a ground floor bedroom with its own en-suite shower room, slightly set apart from the main living areas, offering a little more privacy and a quiet space to retreat to. This would be ideal for grandparents, guests with limited mobility, or anyone who appreciates a bit of peace and quiet. Upstairs, you’ll find two further double bedrooms, both tastefully furnished and comfortable, along with a bathroom featuring a free standing bathtub, perfect after a day out walking the coastal paths. Luxury soaps, shampoos and shower gels are provided. Dolphins Leap allows dogs, but please note the fence surrounding the garden is low with steep drops beyond. Dogs must be fully trusted not to jump or explore, please only bring them at your own discretion and risk.

Although it feels wonderfully tucked away, Dolphins Leap is right in the heart of one of Kent’s most stunning coastal spots. Walk straight from the garden onto a variety of footpaths that run along the cliffs. The route to the South Foreland Lighthouse is a firm favourite. When you get there, enjoy tea and cake at the 1950s-themed Mrs Knott's tearooms.

Just below and down the hill is St Margaret’s Bay, a small pebbled beach where you will find The Coastguard, a relaxed pub serving food and drinks on the beach. A 10-15 minute drive takes you to the coastal towns of Deal and Kingsdown, both worth exploring for their independent shops, restaurants and cafes. Deal also has a great Saturday market, a long pier, and a pretty seafront.

Whether you spend your days out walking, exploring nearby coastal towns or simply sitting in the garden watching the light change over the water, Dolphins Leap is a place you’ll want to return to time and time again.

WOW just Wow!!! This property is absolutely incredible! The listing really buried the lead which is the phenomenal expansive piece of land that this gorgeous home sits on. Right on the edge of the White cliffs, we enjoyed magical moonlit evenings, family bbq on the green egg smoker, campfire marshmallows with from gorgeous welcome amenity basket (which also included a bottle of Kentish wine, gourmet crisps, gourmet chocolate, and other sweet & savory snacks). We loved the cheeky art pieces in the sitting room downstairs ;)
The kitchen is fully kitted out and we had everything we needed to prepare and serve large family dinners and really enjoy the dining spaces both inside and outdoors. They even left oat milk creamer for morning coffee, delicious Grind coffee pods, and laundry & dish detergent. The bedrooms were well ventilated and high-ceilinged with gorgeous Victorian-style decor. The gardens on the property were so amazing as well; a true paradise and such a special place we look forward to returning to.
The property location is very tricky to find as GPS sometimes tries to take you down pathways that are closed off to public access, and the roadways are quite bumpy. But once you get there you won’t want to leave. Truly a wonder. I feel so grateful that the owners have shared this beautiful slice of heaven with travelers coming to see the magic of the Kent coastline and White Cliffs.
Much appreciation also to Keepers Cottages for providing early check-in and late check-out!

I booked Dolphins Leap for a wholesome birthday weekend with my family and it didn’t not disappoint!! The views were incredible, the house itself is beautiful with its own type of artwork which was very unique. At times I felt like I was transported to a quaint place in France. The evenings were warm near the fire place and enjoying the hot tub under the stars. The workers left a very thoughtful welcome basket which went down a treat. I’ll definitely be booking Dolphins Leap again!

An exceptional find. The garden was something out of a film… The secret garden! Lots of different places to sit and a nice touch the sauna and hot tub, plus always somewhere different to sit out admiring the views and just chilling. I always take certain kitchen and bathroom ‘stuff’ but didn’t need to as everything there and some. Very slight criticism would like black out blinds to the roof light windows and the last bit of the drive on uneven road was a bit of a pain (which appreciate nothing can be done about that) BUT that will definitely not stop us coming back again. Had a brief chat with owner James, most pleasant. There was a minor issue late Saturday afternoon with the shower and unbelievable within an hour all sorted by Keepers Cottages who dealt with it immediately and apologised which they really didn’t need to. Thank you so much see you again soon.

We had the most incredible mini break here straight after our wedding, and it was just perfect. We splashed out a bit and were expecting something lovely, but it completly blew our socks off!

Driving up a perfectly manicured driveway, to be greeted by a lighthouse ruin, three gorgeous gardens and the cliff falling away to the sea was heaven, the best place to bunker down and recharge. The gardens were huge, and we really enjoyed our evening loops with the dog without even leaving the property.

When you do venture out, there's miles of walking straight from the door (although it's mainly on lead for the dog this time of year, so bring a long line) and Deal is a short drive away for a nice mooch and lunch. Would absolutely recommend.

We stayed at Dolphins Leap for three nights with friends and had a wonderful time. The house is very pretty, comfortable, spotless and immaculate. The cliff top location is stunning, with extensive gardens (which would be wonderful in summer), and even an old lighthouse. The hot tub and sauna have wonderful views of the entrance to Dover docks and ( on a clear day) France. There are wonderful walks along the white cliffs towards Dover and St Margaret’s bay.
The only downside is access: the last stretch of road is a rough unmade track, and it’s a bit tricky to find the house - definitely aim to arrive in daylight!

We were a group of 6 friends staying for 3 nights over New Year.
The house sits on the cliffs in the grounds of the owner’s property but is completely private. The grounds are spacious and very well landscaped, with a decommissioned lighthouse and incredible views. We had very sunny weather when we were there and the sunsets were stunning. We also enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. The house itself is very stylish and there was no expense spared in the detail. Really lovely. 3 double bedrooms with comfortable beds but only one with an en-suite and shower (ground floor). Shared family bathroom upstairs with bath, between the other 2 bedrooms. The welcome biscuits and extra items in the larder were much appreciated. We took walks down to St Margaret’s Bay and the other way towards Dover. We didn’t really have enough time to explore further afield. We couldn’t recommend this place enough. You will not be disappointed if you book a stay here. One little tip - maybe a path over the grass between the cars and the house? Thank you so much for a lovely and memorable stay.

Myself & my husband had a lovely stay at Dolphins Leap,
The property is in a beautiful location to have some great coastal walks, watch the ships pass by and a place to relax & enjoy the privacy of the home & gardens,
The property is clean, lovingly decorated and the owners have great taste. The bed we slept in was very comfortable.
We loved our stay , even though the weather was a bit dull it did not spoil our time at Dolphins Leap. We look forward to returning at a later date.
