Driftwood is the perfect holiday home for families and friends, decorated in a light, airy style with lovely nautical finishing touches. On the ground floor, the open plan sitting / dining room and dining with wood burner provides an excellent space for socialising whilst the enclosed garden is the perfect place to relax and soak up some sun. The modern kitchen is well equipped and leads out into the garden and there is a ground floor bathroom. Upstairs are three bedrooms and shower room.

Located in the lovely Georgian town of Deal, Driftwood is an easy five minute walk to the seafront with the long promenade and Pier, and just a few minutes from the lovely Victoria Park the ideal spot for children and dogs; Tides Leisure Centre with gym, pool and tennis courts; and a nice rank of local shops.

Driftwood was excellent, clean and tidy. Beds were very comfy. We had an issue with the sink upstairs and Keeper's fixed that quickly. The downstairs bathroom does not appear to have heating working, but that could just be us. The back yard could do with a tidy up but as the weather was not that great we did not sit out there. The parking is tricky, perhaps a permit is available for guests - or something could be sorted with the council. The location is excellent, Deal is beautiful. Thank you we would stay again.

Driftwood is a comfy, surprisingly spacious and well equipped house. We felt at home as soon as we walked through the door and the welcome gifts of wine, milk and nibbles were a lovely bonus. A lot of attention has been given to the interior of the house but the back yard needs some TLC. The location is excellent ; only a few houses from the park and 5/10 minutes walk to the sea front, high street and supermarkets. It's a fairly busy side road with traffic and pedestrians (more noticeable with open windows) but did not personally bother us. Our only niggles were the poor WiFi and the lack of on street parking. Thankfully, we booked a parking space at
Sainsbury's via Just Park which only cost £5 /day and was only a short walk away. It was our first time visiting Deal and we really enjoyed our stay.

Hello Frances, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We're so pleased that overall, you really enjoyed your stay at Driftwood. We have booked in a gardener for the back garden, and bought some boosters for the Wi-Fi given your feedback, so thank you very much for taking the time to let us know about these bits. We always know good local parking hacks but it seems that the Sainsbury's one worked well for you - we're delighted to hear. We would love to welcome you back to Deal again, so please do get back in touch when next planning a future trip.

We were very pleased

Inside the house was excellent. The outside seating area was a great morning and evening suntrap with nice furniture, however dirty paving ,weeds ,broken fencing and peeling paint on the brickwork made it visually unpleasant. Not much work needs doing, clean up and a few potted plants and it would be perfect. For all that I would definitely go again

All right, but....

Having driven 190 miles to get to the house, we thought it mean not to provide a resident's parking permit, as everywhere had a 2-hour limit and it was a hassle. Other places we've stayed have usually been more helpful. For a rent of nearly £900 per week, a bit of help wouldn't have been too much to ask.
"Instruction leaflets are in the drawer" - yes, for dishwasher and microwave, but not for TV and oven. A bit disconcerting when you turn on the TV and find "no terrestrial channels available"! If it wasn't for the helpful lady at the office we wouldn't have had a clue how to proceed. And some people do like to cook, even on holiday. We managed to sort it, but some info would have helped.
I forgot to scramble the keylock, because I was distracted by the fact that the lock was not an integral part of the case, but just rested inside the plastic cover. It was in danger of falling out and anyone with a knife could probably lever it out. If I were the owner I would want something more robust to protect the key.
No complaints about the house itself - warm, comfortable and in a convenient location..

Comfortable but with two issues

The property was clean, comfortable and well equipped.

There are, however two issues that urgently need addressing:
* the shower needs repair (it looks as though the wrong shower hose has been fitted so there is a leak resulting in no pressure to the main shower head and the secondary shower head does not fit its support);
* there is no heat in the bathroom which effectively renders it unusable.

As we were out everyday these did not overly trouble us. These problems could, however, spoil the holiday for others, e.g. those with small children who need to use the bath. So I feel unable to recommend the property to others unless these faults are corrected.
