Honeysuckle Cottage is tucked away in a quite street parallel to the vibrant high street, with an abundance of friendly and lively cafes, restaurants, pubs and boutique shops, and a short walk to the seafront.

This quaint fisherman’s cottage sleeps four guests in two double bedrooms, one ensuite. On the ground floor is a cosy sitting room with wood burner, and an open plan kitchen/dining room. There is also a downstairs shower room – perfect for washing the salt off after a dip in the sea. Outside, there is an enclosed garden with raised deck.

Shabby.....and definitely not chic!

This property is in serious need of some care and attention. We politely called it 'Shabby'.
The decor has obviously not been refreshed for the upcoming season, or indeed any recent years.
Our main concern was with the cleanliness of the property. Stains on the sofa and carpets, spills on the walls and skirting boards, cobwebs and dust throughout - Someone had written (obviously some time ago)  'dust me' with a  cross on the television base unit. Lots of previous comments in the guest book saying the same - clearly never actioned.
Plus:- Both toilet seats were dangerously loose. Curtains were hanging off the rails, the shower screen was not on its runners. The sink taps in both bathroom area are, in our opinion, quite unhygienic. Uncleaned, with black slime on the cold and limescale around the bases and water outlets. The towels provided on arrival left a lot to be desired but were replaced around 9am on the Sunday.  These and many more issues were raised immediately with Keepers Cottages upon arrival.

Parking is an issue and the brochure comment is somewhat misleading. Yes, on-street parking is free but every day we had to find a space over 200 metres away. Not a good situation for anyone with mobility problem
A small plus point is the convenience of the excellent central location.

We stay in a good number of holiday homes and have to say this one was right up there with equipment in the kitchen and the rest of the house. Lovely to have a wood burning, prime tv and a Christmas tree. The location was fab just a minutes walk to the high street and a great tap house called 12 taps, down a quite lane and the house itself was at the end of a cul- de-sac so very quite. The beds were comfortable and there was enough furniture for our use and a lovely little garden which would be lovely in the summer.
I would recommend this cottage and Whitstable itself just a lovely part of the world

Lovely cottage with all amenities and very nice garden. Great location - close to shops and beach. However the only downside was the on street parking. When we arrived we tried a dozen streets to no avail and ended up parked on double yellow lines. The same applied for the next day, so we ended up paying for parking at the railway station (0.4 miles) for the rest of the week. I would not recommend this property for anyone with mobility issues.
