Reed Loft is a unique property, nestled in the pretty countryside near the villages of Kingston, Bishopsbourne and Barham. Its main feature is the indoor pool house and sauna, a truly luxury facility that can be used all year round. The large open plan living space overlooks the pool, whilst a separate sitting room is located upstairs and overlooks the owner’s immaculate cottage garden. Three luxury bedrooms, all ensuite, complete this exceptional property. A lovely private garden is to the front of the property and offers secluded privacy in this idyllic rural setting. The neighbouring villages all have excellent pubs serving food. Canterbury and the coast are both a short drive and the country walks around the Garden of Kent offer lovely views.

We stayed a week and had a wonderful time. The cottage is warm (possibly too warm) and inviting. The location is very rural and very peaceful but only 15 mins from Canterbury. The single track roads with the suicidal pheasants were a little hair raising at first. The owners gardens which you could see from the swimming pool but not access are stunning. The dogs loved the safely fenced garden/enclosed parking area we could access. The beds, pillows and duvets were all clean and comfy (high praise, I'm pretty fussy).
The whole cottage has been recently decorated. There were a few minor niggles (washing machine problems and a bathroom lock jammed ) which the friendly customer service team dealt with quickly. The only negatives, no shaver sockets to plug in the electric toothbrush. The swimming pool was decidedly chilly especially early in the morning, though the fantastic sauna did help to negate that a bit. We had no access to the pool temperature settings, it said it was heated to 30C but it seemed a lot colder than that. It is a lovely pool and the temperature was ok for swimming but our toddler couldn't stay in for long.

The house is very clean and luxurious with the swimming pool and 3 bathrooms, but we missed the cozy English atmosphere. The kitchen utensils could also have been more extensive (casserole, potato peeler, teacups, etc.). It was also very warm in the house because of the heating for the swimming pool. On the ground floor, only a small window could be opened in the kitchen. Translate text with your camera
We enjoyed our stay but will book another house from Keepers Cottage next time.

Beautiful accommodation, peaceful location & a great base for exploring the local area.
The swimming pool and sauna were thoroughly enjoyed by all.

We had a lovely stay at this house in July 2023, unfortunately we had typical English weather, but the pool helped to make the wet afternoons or mornings more enjoyable.
The house is great for a family with lots of space, my only comment would be it would be helpful for one of the rooms to have twin beds, instead of three double rooms.
The kitchen was well equipped if you want to cook a meal and there is a lovely outside area to eat weather permitting. Dog friendly garden too.

This property was pure luxury. The photos are good but don’t fully do justice to the size of the place.
We can’t think of much that hasn’t already been thought of to allow for a very special experience indeed.
If we had one suggestion, a bigger fridge would have been a nice touch and we feel there is ample space for a freestanding one in the kitchen without losing the overall spacious feel.
The only other comment was that the property becomes very warm indeed during particularly hot weather. But we shouldn’t really complain about such things!
Overall, a fantastic place to stay.

we enjoyed our stay in ' Reed Loft' a beautifully maintained property with an indoor pool ( which was a little too chilly for us)

The property is spotless with beautiful bedrooms and en suite bathrooms.

Beds are on the small side for anyone over 6 ft. tall, but linen is high quality.

plenty of good pubs serving food nearby

The property has a garden for visitors at the front of the property , but this is not 100% secure for dogs as there are numerous gaps

they could get through amongst the trees so we kept ours on leads all the time which was not ideal as we didn't want to risk a dog

escaping on to a nearby farmers field which could cause distress to livestock, but we could see that that a lot of care had been

taken with the restoration of the property

The cottage is well equipped and very clean. There was fruit left in the fruit bowl and a bottle of chilled wine in the fridge when we arrived. A nice gesture. The bedrooms were all ensuite and the beds were Super comfortable. To be cool though you had to keep the window open overnight even though fans were provided, however the temperatures have been high this summer.
The pool was well maintained, cleaned weekly - timed to the day we arrived. My grandson had many play swimming lessons from mum and dad in it.
The dog enjoyed the garden and all lost balls were thrown back over the hedge by the owners next door.
The area is very peaceful with plenty of walks nearby and Canterbury for a historic visit a very short drive away.
The Pig at Bridge is definitely worth a visit for a meal, or just coffee and cake.
