Rumbosun is a traditional fisherman’s cottage just moments from the idyllic Kingsdown Beach, the perfect place to spend a relaxing seaside holiday. Situated in the charming North Road famous for it rows of pretty cottages, which leads directly to the beach, this family-owned holiday home sleeps four people and would suit couples, families or a small group of friends. There are two pubs close by and the pretty village of Kingsdown is only a short walk away. The vibrant town of Deal is approximately two miles away. For those wishing to cycle or walk, there is beautiful cycle and walking path that runs along the entire beach-front and takes you to Walmer Castle, quiet beaches and into the heart of Deal. Pets are welcome too.

Very well-located cottage, but overall disappointing. Very poor value for money. There is only a downstairs bathroom, which is very inconvenient. The cottage was freezing cold in late March (not sure if the heating was even on?). It generally had a look of not being cared for, and coasting on its (excellent) location. At least the kitchen was well-appointed (if tiny). Given it was only marginally less expensive per night than Downs Cottage around the corner for it (where we had a most excellent stay in 2022), this was truly very disappointing. We only stayed one night so didn’t bother making a fuss.

The cottage is a wonderful haven, the charming front garden is an invitation into the welcoming, cosy space within.
The rooms all flow through comfortably and the decor has a great beach vibe.
The kitchen is well equipped and the shower is great.
The garden is sunny with perfect shady spots and easy access for bikes to be stored at the rear.
Fantastic to be able to go straight onto beach pretty much from both rear and front gardens.
The sofas do not offer the best comfort and the dining area is a bit dark, particularly in Winter. We resolved this by putting a side lamp in the far corner on the dining table which may not be suitable with a larger group.
That being said, we have stayed in the cottage a few times and would be very happy to back there.

Nothing better than making a cuppa, walking 2 mins up to beach and enjoying the view! This is why this cottage is in such a perfect location. We know Kingsdown very well and although the weather did not behave itself, it was lovely to be back. The cottage is very well equipped and nicely furnished (not the usual beach chic) and the garden is a good size and sheltered from any sea breezes.
The beach community is very friendly and someone will always stop for a chat, it's a great place to watch the world go by. It was very rejuvenating after lockdown.
A note for the less abled...the stairs are VERY steep, but if you use the rope bannister carefully they're fine.
We parked round the back, which meant we could access cottage through the back garden gate, this relieves pressure for spaces for the residents in North road.
