Seafarer is a charming traditional fisherman’s cottage just a few yards from the seafront at Kingsdown, with its iconic white cliffs, wide bay and The Zetland Arms pub located right on the beach. The pretty village centre has a local store and post office, a butchers, and another friendly pub.

Inside the cottage is bright and airy, and the interior design reflects the English seaside feel. The sitting room is cosy with a traditional brick fireplace and wood burner, TV and record player with lots of vinyl records to entertain you. The dining room seats six guests comfortably, and the kitchen is well equipped. Outside, there is a sunny south facing enclosed garden with a large olive tree and a lovely selection of shrubs including rosemary, fennel, agapanthus, fig and cordyline.

Upstairs are the three bedrooms, the principal bedroom with Kingsize bed, and two further bedrooms which are linked, comprising a Kingsize bedroom and then through to the single bedroom which has an adult size trundle bed to create a twin room. The second bathroom is off this bedroom.

Seafarer is the perfect holiday home for a romantic getaway, or a much-needed family break by the sea, and your four-legged friend can join you as well. From the cottage you can walk along the coastal path to Deal and Walmer in one direction and St Margaret’s Bay and Dover in the other, so plenty of things to do, places to explore and history in which to immerse yourself.

My sisters and I had the most wonderful long weekend together. Our yearly sister trip paid off once again. The Seafarer cottage is the perfect place for exploring the Kent coast.
Since we had the best weather, we walked a lot and also enjoyed the close proximity to the white cliffs. The pub at the beach was our daily card playing, food eating and wine drinking spot.
The cottage might look a bit old from the outside but on the inside it was charming, clean, and surprisingly modern. We'd definitely stay here again.
