Smuggler's Cottage is a charming, Grade II listed holiday cottage, over 200 years old, nestling in the heart of the Deal's historic Conservation area. In one of the pretty streets leading from Middle Street to the seafront, the cottage is walking distance into the town centre and less than one hundred yards to the beach. The cottage would make an ideal space for couples or a family. Dogs are very welcome too.

There is something for everyone in Deal, fantastic, quirky independent shops, markets, delicatessens, pubs, restaurants and cafes, together with a wonderful weekly bric-a-brac and food market. The actual town centre is pedestrianised which makes it an ideal place to wander and explore. The long promenade has a lovely pier, and wide open pebble beach. The coastal footpath takes you to Sandwich Bay in one direction and Walmer and Kingsdown in the other, passing the historic Deal and Walmer Castles.

We had a lovely time in Deal celebrating special family birthdays and hired the cottage for our family of 3. It is a very cosy and comfortable cottage with a fabulous location and is close to the Seafront plus shops and restaurants. The stairs are steep, so just be mindful if anyone has mobility or knee issues. The cottage came with a Welcome folder, which we found very useful, and some lovely welcome cookies and milk. We had a lovely time - thank you.

This cottage is in the perfect location for a stay in Deal. Very quiet area & minutes from the beach. No parking but very easy to park on the front 5 minutes away. We didn't us the kitchen besides making drinks but it looked well stocked. Lounge sofa & chairs lovely & comfortable but didn't use TV. Bedroom lovely, light & airy. But the bed is very hard.

Stairs are very, very steep, only for the fit & able bodied. But they added to the Smugglers Cottage experience!
Bathroom a little tired & on the third floor. My partner had to clean the shower head to make it work better.

As a base this was a perfect stay.

Cosy .
Challenging stairs not great for small children or people with Mobility problems.
Shower needs a bit of TLC .

We stayed over the Christmas break and was a fabulous welcome with a decorated tree and gift box from our agent Keepers Cottages. Customer service from the team is second to none can’t fault them, from finding a place to making sure we’re settled in - great team.
The property is beautifully decorated located in the conservation area of Deal seaside town. Very close to the town, everything is a walk away. Free parking is about 10 mins walk but once you’re parked you can leave the car and go everywhere on foot. Property is well kept, had everything we needed. We stayed (2 adults and our small dog) and had plenty of room for the week. These are old houses so the stairs are steep and the bathroom being on the top floor would not suit very. small children or older people (my mum couldn’t have done the stairs!) but was just fine for us. Would recommended and will be using keepers cottages in the future for Kent based breaks. Thanks again!
