West Cliff is a stunning, Victorian townhouse, recently renovated to an exceptionally high standard, decorated with bold, bright colours and great attention to detail. Superbly located, the house overlooks the Whitstable golf course with the sea beyond, and is just a short walk to the beach, the harbour and high street. Set over four floors, this impressive building has a wonderful welcoming atmosphere, and a truly family friendly, relaxed appeal. Your four-legged friend is also welcome.

The ground floor has a large, and sociable open plan kitchen/dining room, with bifold doors opening up onto the lovely garden, abundant with shrubs and wildflowers. There are two reception rooms, one with a TV and wood burner for cosy evenings, the other one is perfect for some quiet time reading or playing board games. On the lower ground floor is a games room with a table tennis and table football; a really useful utility room, great for storing wet items after a day at the beach, and in the sea; and a luxurious bathroom with roll top bath, for a long, leisurely soak.

Upstairs on the first and second floors are the four beautifully decorated bedrooms, shower room and separate cloakroom. Outside, there is a patio and long enclosed garden, perfect for relaxing and alfresco dining.

Whitstable is a vibrant and buzzing seaside town, full of history and charm with a working harbour and fish market. It has a thriving art scene with lots of galleries showing the work of local artists, a great live music scene in the local pubs and some great cafes and restaurants serving contemporary dishes including of course oysters which made Whitstable famous.

The house appears a little unpromising on arrival, but once inside it reveals a beautifully refurbished, comfortable and spacious house. It suited our family very well, providing for all ages, but especially for the children who enjoyed the garden, the games room and the abundance of books and toys. It was well placed for access to the high street in Whitstable and a short walk for all requirements.
The showering/bathing facilities were ample for 8 of us and featured quality fixtures and fittings. The beds were comfortable and again had high quality bedding. In all, the house felt very homely, the owners obviously had renovated and furnished it very sympathetically and generously.
There were a couple of niggles. The parking was not always easy. On arrival we were not able to park to unload and had to walk quite a way with luggage. I think this is probably a feature of Whitstable in high season and caused by visitors like us! There was no cafetière for coffee at the first breakfast but this was resolved by the agents by the next day. We also had difficulty with the induction hob, which worked on the first day, but not thereafter. We reported this to the agents and were given some advice, but as all of these strategies had already been tried (with the help of Google) we were left exasperated. There are no instruction manuals to refer to. This was also the case with the television which I would have liked to watch on the last evening but without a guide found it impossible to work.

We wanted to carry on our routine with the kids the time to empty our house during the last week of school. The house is at good walking distance of Joy Lane Primary school, closes to the shops in town. Westcliff meets our requiments. The kids loved the toys at disposal in the sitting room, the basement with the ping pong table. It was easy to used the washing machines and dryer to travel light. Unfortunately we couldn’t open the windows to renew the air ( opening system was very fragile ) and it was a struggle to find a parking space on this narrow street. Except those 2 points, we will remember forever the choice of the colours on each walls in Westcliff house.
