We stayed in the Salamanca Suite in the North Wing the night of our wedding at Combermere and it was such a gorgeous experience. It really made the wedding day even more special and everything was so beautiful. It's obvious that the team have really thought about every detail and we couldn't have asked for more.
Our overnight B&B Stay in the Bhurtpore Room was lovely. Spacious, comfortable bed, refreshment facilities and wonderful views. A lovely greeting offering drinks and homemade cake. The North Wing has a Private Dining Room, Kitchen and a Sitting Room to use. which were beautifully kept and the Sitting Room had lovely views across the river. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection, the Chef catering for our every whim. The only two downfalls was the room hadn't enough easy accessible plug sockets for charging our Phones & Chargers and we would have liked to have been able to visit insid...more
This is my third visit to Combermere Abbey and I really enjoyed my stay once again. The cottages are comfortable, beautifully furnished and well equipped. I would suggest that the hot water temperature is lowered as it really was scoldingly hot.
We stayed in the cottages for 3 nights during our wedding weekend. They are beautifully decorated and Malbanc cottage was very spacious. All of the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. A special mention to Rachel who was very helpful throughout the booking process and leading up to our stay. My one recommendation would be to change the WiFi in the cottages to a password protected WiFi. The email log on system meant we couldn’t connect the baby monitors to the WiFi which isn’t ideal with two young children. Other than that, everything was perfect!
Stayed many times at Combermere Abbey, chose Beckett as we had invited extended family to join us. 3 double en suite bedrooms plus large dining space absolutely ideal for larger parties. Highly Recommended
At first glance the cottage was lovely but unfortunately on closer inspection the living room floor had several bugs either dead or dying (probably around 4-5). Once we got rid of them cleanliness was fine. The cottage was cosy, very pretty and well equipped. The curtains didn’t fit the windows so I would recommend eye masks. Also the internet didn’t work at all and we had no mobile service. We checked in and out without meeting anybody. Unfortunately in the middle of the night we were woken by policemen in our bedroom. We had definitely locked our doors so are concerned about how th...more
We have been visiting Combermere since 2009 and the surrounding grounds woods are fantastic. Empress cottage was disappointing and in need of an upgrade,
An absolute treat to stay at Combermere Abbey. The cottage and location were absolutely wonderful. We were fortunate to have a very quiet four nights with very few other guests during the mid week, I guess it could be a different situation if fully occupied for a wedding or function. Highly recommended. Great value and helpful customer service when booking. Suggest that guest should seek out the Woodland walk, gardens, café and Gin distillery. The local pub, Combermere Arms, is excellent with great food and service.
We had a lovely stay at Callander Cottage. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed our visit to the Old Piggery Cafe - lovely friendly staff and excellent food. We also visited the distillery, trying various gins before making a purchase. The estate was so peaceful which was so needed! A few points about the cottage - a very comfortable stay though the cottage was extremely cold on arrival. We had to turn all the heaters and fire on as soon as we arrived. The kitchen stayed very cold as there is no heating in there. The Combermere apple juice that was left was a lovely touch and del...more
We had a great stay as we always do and have done for many years, always has a great standard for its customers.
Third stay here, quiet, peaceful, comfortable and dog friendly. Convenient for touring and having a short break to visit relatives.
The property itself was spacious and clean. It looked tired because of things like the worn carpets etc. The kitchen was well equipped, however the breakfast offering of bread, cereal and jams were minimal and didn’t feel “luxurious” compared to the venue itself and the cost of the stay. On arrival, we were informed that the rooms would be ready from 4pm, however at 4:15, the room still hadn’t been cleaned, yet my case had been moved to the cottage. The key was left in the door with my belongings inside, so anyone could’ve had access to the building and my bags. Overall, the stay did what wa...more
