We spent two nights in the North Wing. We had a large well equiped beautiful bedroom with a very comfortable king-sized bed and with a view over the mere which was outstanding and beyond imagination. There was a separate large bathroom with a central bath carefully placed for another magnificent view, as well as a large shower and two washbasins. Also adjoining was a comfortable lounge with walls showing the original construction. Throughout Stephan was the perfect host seeing our needs before we did. The breakfast was served in a lovely dining room and had everything one could possibly imag...more
If you like, as we do, opulent surroundings, excellent service and vg breakfast this is the place for you. The grounds are spacious and great for walking, it so peaceful and free from night time lights; so a good nights sleep should be no problem. Our host, Stefan, is a lovely guy, very helpful and provided a very good Breakfast; he supplied all our need’s admirably I would recommend this place to anyone who likes this type of relaxing, recharging break away from the Day to day business
Malbanc Cottage was the perfect place to have my hen weekend. 8 of us wanted somewhere rural, quiet and peaceful to have a few drinks, lots of food and a place to spend time together. It was perfect! Malbanc was clean, cosy, warm, comfortable and the customer service was fantastic. A courtesy call each morning to ensure we were okay was a lovely touch and we were allowed an early check in when I requested so my maid of honour could decorate. The beds were comfortable, each room/2 rooms had a bathroom and it was the perfect size cottage for 8 guests. We will 100% be back again!
We had two lodges the smaller one was good apart from whole in the door where it was freezing even with curtain drawn, crossley was a bit tired , bedrooms where fine , sofas and furnishings down where a bit uncomfortable and old looking , could not seem to get cooker ovens all working needs instructions for the ovens, fridge not sure was working 100% as things where not that cold. We only had one set of towels for a 3 night stay was not enough. We had a great time as we made the most of it as we always do.
A family celebration of a 60th and other birthdays. W e were part of a party of 30 plus family members and partners. superb accommodation and surroundings. very comfortable accommodation and excellent facilities ( the only thing lacking was a toilet in the main area for guests who were not resident in Beckets) .A thoroughly enjoyable weekend Would well recommend this to others.
What a lovely cottage, ideal for what our celebration weekend required. Family members from all parts of the country, and beyond were able to gather together or relax in their own space within the courtyard was fantastic. The dog friendly welcome was unrivalled for the expected premium you would expect pay for having your pet join you for your stay. I was kicking myself for forgetting her towel only to find one provided for her on arrival. Along with bowls, treats and bags. Would definitely recommend a weekend, or longer.
As Always a perfect Retreat in every possible way. A Twenty Two Year Customer really says it all. Many Many Thankyou's.
Yes, the setting is beautiful (no tricksy photos capturing only a few good bits). Inside, all the comfort and cleanliness and equipment you would expect from the photos, PLUS piping hot bathwater and properly sharp kitchen knives!
All rooms were nicely presented and small touches were appreciated, e.g. provision of tea and coffee, tissues and small toiletries. Grounds were lovely to walk round too. Only negative was the noise coming from the attic above the bedrooms when a cistern was being filled up - not a problem if it was for Wellington, but when no-one was using it from Wellington and we were trying to sleep, the noise from people in another cottage/s using it late at night was very loud. That said, we very much enjoyed our stay.
What a lovely find. Everything you need for a self catering holiday. The Lodge was comfortable and very clean. The Abbey grounds were lovely and everything was so relaxing. Local restaurant and cafe had excellent food, with very nice staff. Definitely recommend the Abbey tour which was very interesting. Looking forward to staying again.
It wouldn't be Xmas without a stay at Combermere Abbey, this was our fifth visit at Xmas and it was just as magical as the first. The cottages are set in a stunning location that afford a perfect way to relax and enjoy the time of year with family. The cottage itself is spacious and has everything you need for your stay. We will definitely be back.
Comfortable cottage, nicely decorated. Well equipped, warm and cosy. Lovely places to walk and explore. Our dogs loved being away in this dog friendly cottage.
