From the outset communication was excellent, code for gates and instructions to the property were very helpful. We stayed in the Salamanca suite which comprised of a beautiful separate sitting room, bedroom, and a bathroom, all overlooking the mere. They were all furnished in lovely designer fabrics and by any standard extremely spacious. Combermere is an ancient building that has been beautifully restored, the North Wing being part of this. Blair and Stefan were fantastic hosts, breakfasts cooked and beautifully presented. It was magical from start to finish.
It felt like such a treat to be able to stay in this historic home, I will certainly be telling all of my family and friends about it!
Beautiful cottage with everything needed for a relaxing break - incredible grounds perfect for walks
Amazing house in a wonderful location. Beautiful walks from door. Estate staff amazingly helpful. Beautifully decorated with all rooms en suite. Everything was perfect!
Becket Cottage was fabulous, the space in the dining room was amazing, my granddaughter loved the bright and airy theme throughout the house as we all did. We have stayed here three Christmas ‘ previously so we know about the lovely walks and beauty of the area and this visit saw more wild life than ever. My daughters asked me to mention that in the ground floor double bedroom the window wouldn’t open , and being next to the kitchen , and being Christmas with the cooking, there are times some fresh air would have been welcomed. Also the upstairs double room , the bath was beautiful but the...more
Beautiful cottage , well equipped and warm . The booking staff helped us to choose two cottages that met our needs and it worked perfectly. Great personal service . The grounds are stunning .
We have stayed in Combermere on quite a few occasions. We arrived after a long journey completely frazzled. We left feeling so refreshed and peaceful after a few days of complete relaxation. It is a beautiful place to stay, as long as you can get in between all the weddings! Empress cottage had everything we needed. Would recommend Combermere to anyone who needs to relax, but I don’t like to broadcast it as it’s our secret place!
We really enjoyed staying here. Clean and comfortable. It was a bit chilly when we got there but housekeeping sorted it out immediately. The grounds are also lovely - woodlands and walled gardens.
We stayed in the Wellington over New Year as a family of 3 and a doggy. The cottage had everything we needed to relax and unwind after a busy Christmas with a 3 year old Lots of little extra thoughts for the dog, a well stocked kitchen and plenty wood for the fire meant to fabulous time had by all of us. The grounds are just lovely for a walk and explore of the lake area. This was our 2nd visit and we will definitely return again.
If it's a break away from the hustle and bustle of Xmas that you want then Xmas at Combermere is the place to go. This is our sixth visit and stepping into Cotton was like coming home. The cottage has everything you need to allow you to enjoy Xmas whilst recharging your batteries. The walks around the grounds and woods are lovely with this year the added joy of a walk to the Old Piggery Cafe and a visit to the Three Wrens Gin distillery. Thank you, as always, to Rachel, the housekeeping staff and everybody at Combermere for helping to make another Xmas so perfect and we look forward to seeing...more
