The North Wing Bed & Breakfast is a stylish oasis where you can unwind and enjoy its historic landscape and mere in peace and quiet. Recently completely restored, staying in the award-winning North Wing will envelope you in its history and the stylish interiors by Nina Campbell. Guests are treated to excellent service and attention with nothing left to chance.

The Bhurtpore Room can be both a twin and super king double bedroom, interchangeable based on guests requirements.
Bedside tables, wardrobe, designer armchair with flatscreen television and fireplace complete the space. The cleverly designed en-suite shower room highlights the stunning views across the mere.

It’s hard not to start and end with the setting of this place: acres of estate for exploring and ogling from every vantage point.

The room we stayed in was beautiful, a lesson in the potential for renovating a Grade 1 listed building. The room felt comfortable to the highest modern standards, warm and clean overall and powerful shower.

The breakfast an English classic made to order and served in the modern kitchen.

We roamed round the walled gardens at will, the planting and design breathtaking - presumably developed over centuries - magnificent.

My wife and I as well as my 2 guests had a wonderful time in the North Wing. The accommodation together with the stunning views over the lake are magnificent and the service provided by Blair was fantastic.
It is the second time that my wife and I have stayed and we will return. It is a very special place to unwind, relax and enjoy all that Combermere Abbey has to offer.

If you like, as we do, opulent surroundings, excellent service and vg breakfast this is the place for you.
The grounds are spacious and great for walking, it so peaceful and free from night time lights; so a good
nights sleep should be no problem. Our host, Stefan, is a lovely guy, very helpful and provided a very good

A quiet, peaceful, luxurious and sumptuous place to visit. Service is excellent, the staff friendly and informative. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice great personal service.
The location is stunning, the rooms overlooking the Mere with plenty of water birds pheasants etc to admire.
A taxi into Whitchurch was easy, the Black Bear pub and Docket #33 were really good.
Definitely recommend Combermere Abbey for all its charm, history and luxury.

A most interesting house in beautiful grounds, the view of the lake from our bedroom, plus it's wildlife, surrounding woods and fields, was outstanding. The whole place was beautifully kept, our welcome was friendly and helpful, the bed very comfortable, the room and en suite immaculate. Breakfast was splendid, served with grace and efficiency in the grand dining room. The evening meal at the Combermere Arms was excellent served in bright and congenial style.

Combermere Abbey’s North Wing is an elegant respite nestled in glorious countryside. Despite the gorgeous decor North Wing is very comfortable and homey. We could relax in one of two drawing rooms. We were served breakfast by the wonderful Rachel. The exemplary customer service began with Stephan greeting us as if we were home and continued even after we left when they graciously shipped me the Kindle I had left behind. Our walks by the lake and through the woodlands were perfect. We will definitely be back.

We had an absolutely glorious time at Combermere Abbey, staying in the north wing. The room was very comfortable, if rather warm - perhaps a fan would be a good thing in the summer, particularly in a heatwave. We had the windows open but lots of midgies due to the mere, so we had to close them! We enjoyed a wonderful swim in the the mere, and lovely walks around the beautiful gardens and woodland. We also had a great pub supper at the Combermere Arms just up the road. Stephan and Rachel looked after us so well - a terrific breakfast from Rachel! We will be back.

The North Wing overlooks the lake and grounds of the estate. The building itself looks fantastic inside and out. The room was comfy and clean with lots of nice design touches. Stefan, the manager, was very friendly and helpful and cooked an excellent breakfast in the morning. I would recommend.

The most beautiful setting which is a real treat and an opportunity to spoil yourselves.
With great care taken to ensure your comfort and a delicious breakfast cooked by Stephan.
Lovely attention to provide a personal touch, including fresh flower sprigs on the side plates.
The sitting room and suite provided a fabulous view of the gardens, swans swimming across the lake and a woodland walk that was especially memorable, captured in photographs which I will treasure to remind me of our stay.

Our trip to the North Wing of Combermere Abbey will stay with us forever. We had glorious weather which meant that we could enjoy sitting out by the lake and the beautiful views, which were spectacular. Best of all was the North Wing itself, what a place! We had the warmest welcome from the lovely housekeeper who gave us a tour and was extremely helpful. The rooms are beautiful, really spectacular. Every thoughtful detail was appreciated, including welcome hamper, afternoon tea, cake and prosecco, how lovely! The breakfast the following day was sensational. What a wonderful cook and host Stephan is. We also really enjoyed looking through the photobook of the renovations, it made us fully appreciate the achievement of this family in restoring this glorious property. Nothing will ever beat this place. It is utterly wonderful! Thank you so much to all involved, we had such a lovely time and can't wait to come back!

A very good second stay thanks again to Stephan for this hospitality. This is country house accommodation in a stunning setting. There are loads of extras including a small complimentary afternoon tea with Prosecco this time.

My Wife and I feel very reluctant to share how wonderful Combermere Abbey is because we don't want it to be full when we attempt to make our next booking. However, to be honest, we cannot praise highly enough the thought and quality which has gone into making the North Wing (where we stayed) what it is, and the staff, especially the Abbey Manager, are second to none. We can't wait for our next visit.

A beautiful, if small, room. Full of character, with the oak-panelled walls and wonderful ceiling. The views from the window are wonderful and the setting is absolutely gorgeous.

The only small, negative thing is the size and age of the TV. It is very small and not the best quality, especially when one considers how cheap TVs have become nowadays (even for a half-decent brand). Considering the price of the room, and all the money they have spent on the refurbishment (costly fabrics, beautiful furnishings etc.) I would have expected better.

Our host Stephan was wonderful, charming and a real tonic! On Stephan's days off, Janet was just as wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble and you couldn't ask for better hosts. They played a big part in making out short break as enjoyable as it was.

If you are looking to get away from it all, in a stunning location then this place is hard to beat. I'd try to get in to the Salamanca bridal suite if you have the chance, though.

From start to finish we felt completely looked after and relaxed. The setting is so peaceful and beautiful. This isn’t a hotel with a bar and hustle and bustle it’s 2 rooms in a separate wing of the Abbey with a beautiful lounge and breakfast area and stunning views of the lake and estate. You are looked after by the rachel and Stefan making things even more special. We loved our time there just wish it had been longer!

The extraordinary renovation project , results in an immaculate finish, which as a guest lucky to stay in the prize.
The Bhurtpore, which tho smaller of the the two rooms, has cosy wood panelling and lovely views of the mere.
We also had the whole of the wing to ourselves, large sitting room, beautiful breakfasts served by Stefan. Walks around the grounds through dewy grass with be jewelled spider webs into the walled gardens.

We hired the North Wing - both the bedrooms and the floor plan showed the lounge , dining room and kitchen were all part of the North Wing
We were very surprised the following morning to find a member of staff in the kitchen area at 8am - he started cleaning and turned the radio on - moved all our food and drinks . We had the north wing booked until 10am so it was a complete intrusion and given the Covid guidelines he should have not been in the property or handling our food and drinks

We had such a wonderful stay at the end of our cycle tour. Stefan was the perfect host. A beautiful place to stay. We didn't want to go home. Thank you so much. So lovely to hear about the restoration and the history of the building too.

It was uplifting to spend a few nights in the North wing and walk the walls where my ancestors walked the walls for hundreds of years. This is the most beautiful venue ever and well priced when you consider what you get for your money.
You dont just get a room, you get an estate and the breakfasts are like royalty would get. The views from each room is sensational and walking the grounds very pleasant.
From being greeted at the door to help with your cases Stefan the manager makes sure you get the ultimate experience during your stay.

Absolutely stunning views, very romantic and felt really special for the night of our wedding. Only wish was that we stayed the night before, or my husband got ready there so we had longer in the room as we had to check out quite early.

From the moment of our arrival to our departure, everything was perfection. Our host could not have been more welcoming.

This was my second stay in the North Wing and I wondered whether the room would be as excellent as Salamanca in which I had stayed the first time. I needn't have worried. Although smaller, Bhurtpore is comfortably large. Both the bedroom and shower room have lovely views through large windows over the lake and park. The bedroom has a warm atmosphere with oak panelled walls, richly coloured furnishing fabrics and exceptionally comfortable beds which will have been prepared for you either as twins or King-size double. The shower room is nicely finished with modern fittings and an easy to control shower.
Everything in the North Wing is beautifully designed in keeping with the architecture of the house and scrupulously clean. The staff are absolutely delightful and provide a warm welcome and a superb breakfast. It's a truly lovely place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Combermere Abbey. Everything was top quality and we couldn't have asked for anything better. The service was friendly and personal. Our stay was refreshing for the body, mind and soul. I would recommend this place to anyone, am definitely thinking of returning and booking it for a treat for my daughter. It was a good base to visit the interesting places that are on offer in the area. Wonderful!
