The North Wing is breathtaking. The decor, views, peacefulness, attention to detail, bathroom, breakfast and service are second to none! Stephan looks after you with so much care, the minute you meet him you just relax into your stay. The woodland walk, gardens and grounds are beautiful too. Breakfast is delicious with the most delicious scrambled eggs you could ever imagine! The perfect place to unwind and relax.
The Bhurtpore room was magnificent. A step back in time, beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. The water views made my stay so peaceful.
This is my third visit to Combermere Abbey and I really enjoyed my stay once again. The cottages are comfortable, beautifully furnished and well equipped. I would suggest that the hot water temperature is lowered as it really was scoldingly hot.
Beautiful cottage for our weekend break with friends! Very comfortable & stylish - real home from home & tons of space ! Kitchen well equipped, No downside although we couldn’t figure out the radiators in some areas - the open fire was a big welcome !
Stayed many times at Combermere Abbey, chose Beckett as we had invited extended family to join us. 3 double en suite bedrooms plus large dining space absolutely ideal for larger parties. Highly Recommended
delightful warm cottage with big lounge area and well stocked kitchen. everything was clean and the decor was all really lovely
I had the most delightfully relaxing stay at Empress Cottage, on the Combermere Abbey estate recently, and I absolutely would sing the utmost praise for the truly welcoming accommodation, outstanding architecture, fabulous furnishings and truly the highest standards of everyone involved in the design and cleanliness throughout the property and all of the the grounds. Once you enter through the gates, the landscape opens up its arms and greets you - the absolute expanse of this gorgeous green land and beautiful trees and wildlife is truly Mother Nature is at best, as it all feels so relaxing ...more
Thank you to the entire Combmere Abbey team. We had an amazing stay at the cottages. The location, the hospitality, the food, everything was amazing.
We had a lovely stay at Callander Cottage. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed our visit to the Old Piggery Cafe - lovely friendly staff and excellent food. We also visited the distillery, trying various gins before making a purchase. The estate was so peaceful which was so needed! A few points about the cottage - a very comfortable stay though the cottage was extremely cold on arrival. We had to turn all the heaters and fire on as soon as we arrived. The kitchen stayed very cold as there is no heating in there. The Combermere apple juice that was left was a lovely touch and del...more
Heated towel rail ‘not working’ Light bulb blown Only 3knives&forks for 4 people No dinner plates, candle battery ‘flat’ Had to buy wash-up liquid and J cloths But…the most annoying item was the ‘loo paper’ this was supposed to be a Luxury Accommodation but not luxury toiletries even Premier Inn had better. What was surprising was they have a ‘reed-bed’ system for waste water and I should think this would impact on that in the future.
Third stay here, quiet, peaceful, comfortable and dog friendly. Convenient for touring and having a short break to visit relatives.
The property itself was spacious and clean. It looked tired because of things like the worn carpets etc. The kitchen was well equipped, however the breakfast offering of bread, cereal and jams were minimal and didn’t feel “luxurious” compared to the venue itself and the cost of the stay. On arrival, we were informed that the rooms would be ready from 4pm, however at 4:15, the room still hadn’t been cleaned, yet my case had been moved to the cottage. The key was left in the door with my belongings inside, so anyone could’ve had access to the building and my bags. Overall, the stay did what wa...more
