We had a fantastic stay in the North wing - The Salamanca, for our 40th wedding anniversary. The suite was beautiful, clean and well presented and the views out of all the windows is ‘something else’, and every amenity was catered for. The ’grazing platter’ comes highly recommended. It is freshly made for you and is extremely filling. Breakfast is not a rushed affair and again your cooked breakfast is freshly prepared for you. Every last detail has been thoroughly thought out, from Classic FM playing quietly in the corner, to a beautifully laid out table, with a sprig of lavender place...more
Stephan & Jo were welcoming, extremely helpful and attentive hosts. The room was excellent, clean, comfortable and had a great view of the lake and surrounding fields and woodland. Following a very peaceful night you come down to a wonderful breakfast to start your day. Our 4 nights here were just heavenly.
We stayed in Malbanc after our wedding and it was absolutely beautiful. All our guests who stayed throughout the cottages commented on just how lovely all the rooms were. We will definitely stay again, hopefully coming back for our anniversary each year.
This is my third visit to Combermere Abbey and I really enjoyed my stay once again. The cottages are comfortable, beautifully furnished and well equipped. I would suggest that the hot water temperature is lowered as it really was scoldingly hot.
Stayed many times at Combermere Abbey, chose Beckett as we had invited extended family to join us. 3 double en suite bedrooms plus large dining space absolutely ideal for larger parties. Highly Recommended
I enjoyed this lovely wee cottage it was spacious spotless and well equipped - parking was central and close by making it easy to unload all our luggage for a wedding we were attending The breakfast pack was welcome and the coffee machine was a surprise! The internal decoration was very tasteful ! Grounds are fabulous it was peaceful full of birdsong and al in all perfect!
On needing to stay a further night we had to move to the cottages as the North wing was full. However; it was no problem at all. Stephan arranged the transfer and it was completed in their usual efficient manner. The cottage was delightful, having comfortable living space, well equipped kitchen, bathroom and 2 bedrooms. To complete the package was an outdoor seating space at the back of the building and room to park a vehicle It was peaceful and we therefore enjoyed a great nights rest We had no complaints about the property and so thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Beautifully appointed cottage in a very peaceful setting, very dog friendly with lots of woodland walks.
The cottage was set in the most delightful surroundings. We were there mid week when it was utterly tranquil. Lots of lovely walks and wildlife. Would recommend for a battery recharge.
Having spent many holidays at Combemere as a child in the 90’s, I was so excited to come back and share this special place with my little girl. Did not disappoint! We had a gorgeous weekend going on adventures in the ground, and our greyhound loved snoozing in the garden and watching the hares run by. Will definitely be back.
We loved our stay at Stone Lodge. The Lodge is beautiful the calm we needed before our wedding. From the thoughtful breakfast basket to the unique outside bath, we were blown away with the property. Stunning!
The property itself was spacious and clean. It looked tired because of things like the worn carpets etc. The kitchen was well equipped, however the breakfast offering of bread, cereal and jams were minimal and didn’t feel “luxurious” compared to the venue itself and the cost of the stay. On arrival, we were informed that the rooms would be ready from 4pm, however at 4:15, the room still hadn’t been cleaned, yet my case had been moved to the cottage. The key was left in the door with my belongings inside, so anyone could’ve had access to the building and my bags. Overall, the stay did what wa...more
