This charming Gothic gatehouse sits at the entrance to the Estate and was built in the 1830's and designed by Morrison of Ireland. Set in its own damson orchard and surrounded by beautiful trees, Stone Lodge is a romantic getaway, with private entrance and a large sunny terrace.

Stone lodge was cosy but I never realised that it was so close to the main road and we could hear traffic constantly.

We had a very comfortable stay. We were impressed that having arrived to a chilly living room and realising the radiators needed bleeding this was dealt with immediately on reporting it to the housekeeper the next day.
There were only the two of us so we didn’t use upstairs.The large downstairs bedroom and ensuite shower were beautifully fitted out.Very comfortable bed.There’s outdoor furniture and cushions but the weather was very wet ;it would be a pleasant sitting area earlier in the year.
Good quality crockery and glassware.Likewise sheets and towels.There’s a small dishwasher and tablets provided,likewise pods for the washing machine.Also milk,biscuits,tea and coffee were there on arrival.
Very professional set up.We were fortunate to be there when there was an “Invitation to View” tour of the Abbey so if your visit coincides with one do book it as the building is very interesting indeed-Myra was our excellent guide.
Excellent position for visiting Nantwich,Cheadle,Chester.

Lovely lodge and amenities Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy our trip as we would have liked due to it raining non stop all the time and went home a day early.However we would not hesitate to return in the future to enjoy the area in better weather and would highly recommend Combermere Abbey.

We had a lovely stay in Stone Lodge. The large garden was brilliant for the dog and the interior of the lodge was so cosy. The bath overlooking the garden is a particularly special feature. There is also the added bonus of being out of the way from the rest of the estate so not disturbed by wedding parties. We will be back!

We had a lovely second visit to the gatehouse, we love the enclosed garden and remoteness of it. It was clean and had plenty of tea and coffee and milk, and the kitchen has everything you might need. We enjoyed walking through the grounds with our dog and had a lovely, quiet couple of days.

Really enjoyed our Xmas stay. This has become a regular accom choice for us and it has a lovely atmosphere. We did notice that some external window sills are rotten and the carpets are a bit tired now, but overall, we love this place! Added touches like Xmas hamper and decorated Xmas tree were really appreciated.

+ We stopped in Stone Cottage which was lovely and had all the amenities you needed. The location was great and there has been lots of thought given to the activities within the grounds of the Abbey, with gardens, walks and the mere.
Customer service was absolutely fantastic, from booking all the way through, these people really care and address the customers needs.
The bed and sofas were exceptionally comfortable.

- whilst we brought some basics with us for cooking. it would have been nice to have some supplies in the lodge… ie sauces, cooking oil etc.
Whilst the lodge is beautiful, there are some finer details I would expect to be addressed, I.e the extractor didn’t work in the bathroom, the extractor in the kitchen wasn’t great and it wasn’t possible to open the kitchen window and the shower wasn’t good at all, with the pressure being poor (fine) but the thermostat can’t be working as it was red hot the whole time. To be called luxury, which I think is the term used, I would expect some touching up of minor damaged or scuffed areas, which wasn’t done.

Overall a lovely place to stay and we would revisit.

Lovely cosy 2 night break at stone lodge.
A hose would be useful for cleaning muddy boots & paws and also maybe some signs to take you to the edge off the lake as sadly we missed out on this!

It is a fantastic cottage and so beautiful. Amazing of Combermere Abbey to have a cottage that is available for the bride to stay in before the wedding, however, it would be more convenient to have a cottage closer to the venue within the grounds. This would make it easier to transition to the keepers cottage for hair & makeup on the morning of the wedding. Although, in our case the stone lodge was a great destination to start preparations for 6am and move to keepers cottage at 9am.

Our overall experience at Stone Lodge, Combermere Estate had its ups and downs. The first day of our stay was lovely, but there were a few issues that left us disappointed. Upon arriving at the lodge, we noticed that the garden furniture was covered in cobwebs and leaves. It would have been nice if the staff had taken the time to brush it off before our arrival, especially considering the pleasant weather we experienced over the bank holiday weekend in May. Naturally, we expected to be able to sit out and enjoy the garden during our stay. Additionally, the cushions for the garden furniture were in poor condition and had an unpleasant smell, indicating that they hadn't been washed in a while.

However, one highlight of our stay was the grazing box we ordered. It was wonderful, and we were particularly impressed with the service provided by Stephen, the gentleman who delivered it. The quality of the grazing box exceeded our expectations, and it added to the enjoyment of our time at the lodge.

On the second night, we had invited my elderly parents to join us for my husband's birthday dinner party. We had a lovely evening, but unfortunately, our experience was marred by a lack of hot water at the lodge. The issue started on Saturday afternoon and persisted until our departure the following day. We immediately contacted the housekeeping department and spoke to Jenny, who appeared to be unaware of how to resolve the problem. Despite our persistence, maintenance was nowhere to be found, and the lack of hot water was extremely disappointing, especially considering the price we paid for our stay. We made multiple calls to address the issue, but it seemed that no one was genuinely concerned about the inconvenience caused by the lack of hot water. This lack of urgency and follow-up on such a basic amenity was particularly concerning, especially for a venue that also hosts weddings. It made us wonder how a guest at a wedding or even a bride would be treated in such a situation. To date, we still have not received any follow-up regarding the water problem, which further adds to our dissatisfaction.

Given our experience and the lack of resolution to the hot water issue, we are hesitant to return to Stone Lodge, Combermere Estate in the future. The lack of attention to detail, the subpar condition of the garden furniture and cushions, and the inadequate response to a basic amenity problem do not align with the expectations we had for a venue of this nature.

We are very sorry that your stay was disrupted by the lack of hot water, however I understand from speaking with our Head of Housekeeping that you called the office on the morning of your departure to report the issue, however you declined the offer for a member of staff to visit the property to inspect this. Following your stay, a gas engineer was called out to look into the problem, and has since been able to repair a fault that had occurred on the pilot light and gas feed, however I am very sorry that this could not be remedied during your stay with us. We are very sorry that the garden furniture had not been prepared ready for your arrival, and our Head of Housekeeping is looking into why this had not been done prior to your arrival. It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your Grazing Board on the Friday evening, and that Stephan provided an excellent service for you. We very much hope that you were able to enjoy a couple of nights away on the Estate to celebrate your husband's birthday, and we hope that we are able to welcome you back to Combermere Abbey again in the future to help restore your faith in our service.

We found Stone Lodge to be very comfortable, clean, well furnished and equipped. Despite being close to the main road from Nantwich to Whitchurch (as you might expect being a gate lodge) it was relatively quiet and felt secluded. Located in beautiful countryside with easy walks through the Combermere Estate was ideal for us, and being within walking distance of the excellent Old Piggery Cafe for brunch or morning coffee was a bonus.
The garden is relatively large but more important for us was secure for our two dogs; we could let them out into the garden without fear that they might find a way out to follow their interest in the local pheasant and hare populations! I cannot recall renting a property before where towels, bowls and treats were provided for the dogs and obviously made to feel welcomed. Many thanks to Rachel at the Combermere Sales Office for being so helpful in arranging our stay. In all we had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stone Lodge. We would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at Stone Lodge and will certainly stay again when visiting our family in the area.

The Stone Lodge is perfectly sized for two people (or family of four). The ground floor master bedroom is spacious and leads to a wet room style bathroom. Upstairs, the open plan landing includes a deep bath, with a twin bedroom in a sloped ceiling room. Parking is on site and door access is via a keypad lock. Walks on the estate are handy, as are the choice of local pubs and restaurants. A tour of the Abbey will enhance your stay, plus a walk down to The Piggery cafe for breakfast!

What a lovely find. Everything you need for a self catering holiday. The Lodge was comfortable and very clean. The Abbey grounds were lovely and everything was so relaxing. We have stayed at Combermere four times now, using various cottages and the (very plush) Abbey wings. This was our first time in The Stone Lodge and in January during a cold snap. The cottage is small and quaint, with all necessary amenities and easy parking. We loved having the open fire and our 2 adult kids joined us, using the upstairs twin room. The setup is a bit quirky but we loved it, and it has a nice feel. The location, close to M6 and Cheshire is also convenient. The housekeeper called to see if we needed anything and there was a washing machine, freezer and fridge available - super convenient. Overall, this setup really works for us and we like the convenience, as well as professional staff and amenities.

Stone Lodge is a perfect isolated cottage perfect for a couple or a small family. You really feel like you have escaped from the world. We spent the night before our wedding here and we couldn't believe how many small touches that the team at Combermere made such as vegan breakfast items and oat milk in the fridge (because we told them in advance we are vegan). And the best apple juice in the world made from the apples on the estate. We will definitely be back to celebrate anniversaries! Thank you to Rachel and her team for everything!

Stone Lodge is wonderful - well equipped, beautifully decorated, and very clean and tidy. Its location at the end of the drive was perfect for us, quiet and with a great walks into the main part of the estate, the woodland, or a dog friendly cafe. The lodge itself has gothic features and is both unique and incredibly comfortable. It is dog friendly and the provision of a large secure garden was an added bonus.
A lovely welcome hamper was also provided, full of fantastic local produce.
This truly is a very special place to stay and we wouldn’t hesitate in returning.

After staying at Stone Lodge on a fairly regular basis pre-pandemic, it was lovely to be back. Great to see new sofas and general sprucing up, the cottage looks great. Stone Lodge is one of the most relaxing and tranquil places you could wish to stay, with a truly wonderful garden (which our new doggy loved). The mile long walk down to the abbey and mere is well recommended too. Stone Lodge is handy for Nantwich and Whitchurch and is just a minute's drive from the very highly recommended Combermere Arms pub!

Very easy to book and the communication & information provided was excellent. The cottage was well presented and even included a lovely Christmas tree, welcome hamper and logs for the log burner. The only downside was that the main gate didn't shut to make the garden secure for our dogs but this was only a very minor issue. We will certainly book again in the future.

A truly hidden gem. It is perfect for 2-3 people. The bathroom in the first floor has only a bathtub, but no shower!

The Location, garden and hamper excellent.
However inside (most uncomfortable) and outside furniture {cushions left out and wet on arrival) is well beyond its sell by date.
Two elderly couples felt older after sitting on the sofas for four evenings.
Thank God we didn't book a week.
The folder for the operation of electrical/kitchen equipment was missing. Reported but not replaced.
No 2 pin socket available. Shavers/tooth bush chargers.
Could go on but not happy.

Would recommend if drastic attention is carried out to the above.

Myself, my mum and two bridesmaids stayed at the stone Lodge the day before my wedding and it was beautiful. It feels really secluded and private and the building itself is stunning. When we arrived there was a bottle of Prosecco and some snacks for us to enjoy aswell as a lovely breakfast hamper. The staff were really helpful and on board with any queries we had and I look forward to spending a future anniversary at the lodge with my now husband.

Stayed here the night before my wedding with my bridesmaids. It is the cutest little cottage. It was very clean, amenities brilliant and beds were super comfy. There is also a terrace which would be perfect for summer evenings (if it wasn’t raining like it was for us). Ample parking. The breakfast hamper had so much stuff in it! We have returned after 8 years as we could never book due to the the lodge always being fully booked, we loved the fact that it was on its own as we wanted peace and quiet, which we got. The road is a little close so there is some noise, but it can be ignored, and as the weather was glorious for the whole 11 nights stay, we were outside most of the time. It is very atmospheric and comfortable, we had an issue with the DVD player which was dealt with immediately. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, if I had to pull a fault (which is a bit unfair) it would be the settees need updated as they were a bit saggy but were still comfortable. The kitchen, bedroom and shower were great, everything we needed was available.
There is a huge amount to see and do in all directions so it’s a good base to either relax or go out. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the gardens are beautiful and relaxing.
We would definitely go back again.

Had a lovely stay at dog friendly Combermere Abbey's Stone Lodge. Very clean and comfortable. Everything we required was provided. Very peaceful and relaxing. Despite the rainy weather we enjoyed the walks in the grounds with our dog and returning to Stone Lodge to take advantage of the woodburner. Met some of the housekeeping team whilst on our walks and they were very friendly, helpful and informative. Very much enjoyed our stay.

We chose this partly for its proximity to family,to facilitate a long awaited visit. However, it was also ideal for our elderly dog with a secure enclosed garden and mainly carpeted floors. We didn't use upstairs but it looked more suitable for children as the stairs are steep. The furniture in the lounge is a little tired although still comfortable, but otherwise the furnishing and equipment are very good. The estate provides excellent walking facilities and a fabulous swimming area in the lake(which I took full advantage of). The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There is a little traffic noise but it didn't bother us even when sat outside. One small word of warning-the fruit trees in the garden had attracted a number of wasps where fruit had fallen or rotted on the tree. They were not aggressive but might be a problem with young children playing outside. However, we were impressed with both the lodge and estate, and would happily stay again.

Very clean and welcoming property, lots of history attached to the building, great garden for our flat coated retriever, however not so good for relaxing in because of it’s close proximity to the road, and noise from the workmen who were repairing the main gates also the diversion to the Abbey was down a long winding bumpy farm track.
The Combermere Arms is a great pub/restaurant excellent menu, food good and reasonably priced. Nantwich is a beautiful medieval town. Would definitely return to the area.

The cottage was very welcoming and has a lot of character. Double bed was very comfortable and downstairs lounge is a snug place. The up stairs twin room has and bathroom layout is suitable for close friends as there as the facilities are tucked behind an arch rather than a closing door. Worked ok for us as all close friends. Breakfast hamper was great and cossiants were amazing!! The best thing about our stay though was the staff. They are so kind a accommodating. Glad to have met them. Thanks for having us. Xxx

We have stayed at Combermere on many occasions but this is the first time we have stayed in Stone Lodge. The cottage itself is of the same exceptional standard as the others on this estate. Very clean and well equipped. Unfortunately it is located adjacent to a main road and there is heavy traffic passing by from quite early morning. We will definitely be returning to stay at Combermere as we love it so much but not to this particular cottage. I would recommend this cottage providing you are not a light sleeper.

We found it a very convenient location, staff were very friendly and helpful, grounds were stunning a joy to stroll round. The only downside to Stone Lodge I thought was the lack of a nice eating area, the kitchen didn’t really lend its self or feel suitable to sit in and the table in the hallway was laid out as a study table. This wasn’t a major problem as we ate out most of the time. Certainly would return to combermere.

Breakfast was more than generous and very good quality. My only change would be putting a door or curtain on the bathroom that is used for the twin room.

Groom's party used the stone lodge for getting ready in and it was spot on. Made the day start off really relaxed and easy. Few drinks on the lovely sun drenched patio, everything we needed inside and ample room to get ready.

Comfortable stay with amenities provided including a breakfast hamper.

Wouldn’t recommend for more than 3/4 people due to size. Also odd layout for bathrooms- there is one en suite double and then a bathroom upstairs next to the twin room which is completely open with no door. So no real shared bathroom.

I stayed at the stone lodge the night before my wedding at Combermere Abbey. My 3 bridesmaids and I all stayed in the cottage and got ready for the big event here.

We had an extremely comfortable stay the night before (even if I woke up at 5am with nerves!) y sister had a sumptuous bath in the morning, overlooking beautiful pastures and gardens.

Getting ready was also fairly easy! There was plenty of space for the hairdresser and makeup artist to both set up and work (one in the living room and one in the kitchen) leaving plenty of space for everyone else to relax. The only think that I thought was possibly missing was a freestanding, full length mirror. There’s a full length mirror in the downstairs bathroom, but once you have your dress on, you don’t want to walk into a wet room.

All round, we will be booking to stay here again! It was bliss!!

Great week in a beautiful location. Stone Lodge has lots of character, all the amenities required for us and our two dogs. A reasonably secure garden, quiet location and everything you need nearby. Whitchurch 10 mins away for supermarkets, Combermere arms is a beautiful pub for a nice meal and only 2 mins away or a short walk. National trust properties at Attingham Park, Chirk Castle, Erddig and Tatton Park all within 45 mins and easy access to road network.

I enjoyed returning to the peace of Stone Lodge. The lodge is beautifully furnished. Its kitchen has everything needed for a comfortable stay. As a solo traveller, I only use the large bedroom with a spacious bathroom. The lounge provided for relaxation throughout the day with a welcome log burner and television. The grounds around Stone Lodge are very well maintained and laid out. I look forward to returning soon.

You feel the warmth and history of this delightful lodge the moment you walk through the door. We absolutely loved our week here. Lovely walks through the woods and up the long drive to Comberemere Abbey. Sitting by the fireside in the cosy lounge. The bedrooms were so relaxing and tastefully decorated. This gate lodge has a lot of character. we liked the separate drive and our own garden. the drive to the main house is about a mile, and makes a really nice walk. good to see the cows in the fields, they're very friendly and came to say hello over the fence most mornings. there's a good pub very close, which is very dog friendly. lounge was very cosy, especially with a fire in the log burner.small thing is that the sofa, which was very comfy, was very low, and needed a bit of effort to get out of. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Lovely setting. Re-visit after 20 years when we stayed in the main block of cottages with our 2 and 4 year old. Both now older and loved the bikes, loved the tennis court. Just a shame I couldn't re-create the same pictures we took on the swings. For kids this was invaluable and a real shame it is no longer available.

The planting has all developed beautifully. There was a hammock by the lake but unfortunately no more - however the benches were perfect. Perfect evening moments soaking in the peace.
Would be a great place to get married.

An enjoyable stay at Stone Lodge.The garden is special for all ages.The bedrooms/ bathrooms were clean and comfortable
We found places to eat out nearby and could recommend them.
Shropshire/Cheshire border ideal for visiting places - handbook in cottage useful
Maybe the lounge area sofas need updating - I found clean but a little uncomfortable
Walking on the estate also a highlight and we had excellent dry weather

It was so lovely to spend the night before my wedding with my two best friends/ bridesmaids. Incredibly comfortable and peaceful away from the other cottages. Breakfast was delicious and overall a gorgeous place to stay. Thank you! x

We enjoyed our stay at Stone Lodge because:-
Everyone is friendly and helpfull
We don't have to worry about the dog as the garden is well fenced
We enjoyed as our second stay as much as as first and will come again

Beautiful building with a wonderful enclosed garden where we saw squirrels and wild birds and was enjoyed by ourselves aswell as our two cocker spaniels.The interior was clean,comfortable and welcoming,local produce set out in a wicker basket and tea tray ready for us.As my partner uses a wheelchair the wide doorways and ease of access to the downstairs wetroom made it stress free.When it was not such good weather the log burner was appreciated to use in the evening. Wonderful stay and the housekeeper kept in touch to check we had everything we needed.

This lodge is very well managed and provides luxury throughout. Towels and bedding are first class. It is an added bonus to have access to the large country estate and it is very dog friendly.

Cottage located at the gate of the estate. Its offered complimentary to couples getting married the night before the wedding, usually as a bridal prep sweet. Its a nice cottage with a decent main bedroom away from the main complex. It seems perfectly suited to this. But there are better cottages on the estate for longer stays.

I stayed at the Stone Lodge the night before my wedding with three of my bridesmaids. It was so comfortable and lovely to stay in. The rooms are substantial and very clean all around. There is an outdoor area to enjoy coffee with friends. The kitchen was better than I had in my own home! Overall a wonderful experience.

Lovely surroundings and a nice surprise to find a blanket, bowls and treats for our dog. Garden is fully enclosed to the Lodge, but if your dogs can jump the fences might not be high enough. The woodlands and lake of the estate are just breathtaking. The cottage is beautifully furnished and actually a lot bigger than the pictures show. Anything you could think of was provided in the kitchen, including a sandwich toaster! Really felt like a home from home.

One of the strangest breaks we had in GB.
We stayed for six days and saw no one.

Stone Lodge was a nice place to stay. We had a few problems when we arrived with equipment but it was all sorted out.Only poor thing was the condition of the side gate which was broken and we had to improvise so that our dog could not get out of the garden.

A lovely property in beautiful grounds. Great old property full of character. Not ideal for the elderly or infirm as very low settees and no grab rail in the wet room area.
Upstairs bathroom not ideal as open plan and a very small sink. My husband and i found the low sloping ceilings and doors a little awkward as we are both tall.
Stairs steep and could be difficult for some.
Enclosed garden perfect for our dog and a lovely area with a great local pub nearby.
We would still return but without our elderly parents.
Staff very helpful and friendly.
We had a very pleasant stay.

Very pleasant and welcoming property, however after day one of our stay we were unable receive any signal for wi-fi, this was not a problem as we were out and about most of the time. We also experienced a lot of ladybird insects mainly in the upstairs bathroom and two or three times elsewhere in the property. All in all a very pleasant end enjoyable stay.

Stone Lodge is a excellent getaway, just a short distance off the motorways to commute to from London or elsewhere, it was a cosy little cottage with a lovely log fire for those winter evenings in. We had 4 people plus a dog and there was plenty of room for all of us. The quirky layout meant that you all had your own space, large spacious bedrooms and private ensuite's but sitting in the lounge with the fire on and a bottle of wine was a excellent way to spend an evening.
The cottage comes complete with an enclosed garden which was perfect for the dog to run around in safely. There is a gap under the main gates when they are closed which smaller dogs could fit under if they are prone to try to escape.
The wifi was excellent, and worked well given all the modern devises we had although the TV did suffer from the odd frozen picture due to signal quality, but being out and about most of the time was the objective rather than sitting in watching TV.

We stayed at Stone Lodge for the first night of our Married life, and I could not have wanted anywhere better. The service was excellent, the lodge was beautiful and extremely comfortable. Even though the lodge is next to a busy road we could not hear any traffic noise it is beautifully sheltered. The whole day was amazing and the service from Combermere was second to none, I cant praise them enough !

We stayed at Stone Lodge, combermere Abbey for our anniversary weekend, we had married there last year and thought it would be lovely to have a relaxing weekend at the cottage.
And this is just what it was, we stopped at the local farm shop on our way in and purchased some treats for our stay. We spent the weekend relaxing and taking in lovely walks with our dog, who we took along. Stone lodge was ideal for staying with the dog as the garden is enclosed, and there was plenty of room to play ball.
We also ate out at the local pub the Combermere Arms this is great food, and dogs are allowed in too.
The quality of the cottage is very good, fully equipped with everything you would need. If you are looking for a relaxing get away then this is a perfect place to stay.

What can I say. This is the most amazing place I have stayed thus far. I have already tried to book it for next year. Ashleigh was extremely helpful and the housekeeper is lovely. The relaxed outdoor seating and parasol was great as we had fantastic weather, so much so we BBQ'd 3 nights out of 4 and it would have just helped if we could have had a table outside to eat at. That is not a moan because we managed and it was lovely. Only downside was that there were a lot of biting insects - nothing anyone could have don about that though! A thoroughly relaxing few days, which was needed.

very comfortable cottage - well decorated, warm and clean. Only fault is the knives were blunt! We rather enjoyed the walk to the abbey and around the woods/lake. Staff were outstanding, in fact the high point of our stay was a tour of the gardens with Claire. Please pass on our regards and we hope to see her at the festival at Tatton park in July - just a pity there are no vacancies at Combermere for that weekend.

3rd visit to Combermere, very relaxing break, cottage was very private and it felt like a home from home. Well equipped and comfortable, loved the log burning fire and the lovely decoration to the twin bedroom and bathroom upstairs, so delightful, car park inside cottage grounds was very convenient as was the lovely enclosed garden, only gripe would be at times cottage felt a little cold in certain rooms being the wet room and dining room areas which meant we chose not to sit in the dining room for very long in the evenings, we got nice and cosy in front of the wood burning fire instead!

Stone lodge was a fantastic little cottage. The hamper and the facilities were great.
Only thing which didn't happen was that our groom and bridesmaids bags were meant to be switched from Stapleton to stone lodge on Saturday, which didn't happen making things difficult on our wedding night for them both. Also no wifi code in stone lodge could be found which isn't ideal as the phone signal is every limited.
Apart from those hiccups- fantastic stay.

We held our wedding at Combermere Abbey and our guests used all of of the cottage accommodation. Two of our guests stayed in Stone Lodge the night before the wedding and thoroughly enjoyed their stay. We (the Bride & Groom) stayed in the bridal suite on the night of the wedding and it was special to stay in such a stunning location. The cottage is beautifully decorated and the hamper was delicious. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the rest of our guests. Everyone was impressed by the attention to detail and high level of customer service. We all had a magical, memorable weekend.

We got married at Combermere Abbey and stayed at Stone Lodge one the evening. The cottage was spotless, beautiful and even came with a hamper the next day.

The staff are wonderfully helpful and we would definitely recommend!

The bridal cottage is perfect for getting ready the day of the wedding and your wedding evening with every amenity and treat you could possibly think of! The best bit is that yo can escape all of your guests as it is located at the other end of the drive. Beautiful breakfast hampers, champagne and rose petals are left for you and no matter what state you leave the cottage getting ready for your wedding, the fabulous staff will transform the cottage fit for you and your groom. Could not be happier with our stay!

We stayed for two nights after holding our wedding at Combermere Abbey. The cottages are sooo relaxing and beautifully decorated! I cannot recommend this place enough - seriously good value for money, me and my new husband cannot wait to celebrate many wedding anniversaries here! Thanks for making it so special <3 xx

The cottage is fantastic, a real treat to stay in. It is very grand yet extremely cosy. The garden is wonderful with a fantastic outdoor garden area. I would definitely stay here again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The morning after could have been better and maybe we could have had a time to meet staff to collect all of our wedding gifts from the venue as staff seemed very busy with others.

Very lovely cottage, very clean and beautiful. Felt like we were in Snow White's house because it was so isolated. Hamper provided was also gorgeous, fresh food!

Absolutely spotlessly clean,the breakfast basket that we ordered was full of the most wonderful breakfast goods,
having access to the estate was really welcoming.
Even our dog Molly was catered for wonderfully with two bowls and her own blanket.
Altogether a great place to stay .

My daughter and her new husband had no idea where they would be staying on their wedding night until the day before and couldn't believe their luck!! They found the cottage very comfortable and loved the hamper. It was a shame they had to leave so soon!!

I stayed here with one of my bridesmaids the night before my wedding and then with my husband the night of our wedding. Beautiful cottage with perfect facilities, the two rooms are great as it meant i could have the upstairs twin room to sleep with my bridesmaid the night before and was able to use the downstairs double to hang my dress without anyone seeing it.
My only comment would be if there was a shower upstairs aswell, very minor but as i stayed the night before my bridesmaid had to see my dress as it was hung downstairs when she went for a shower but other than that the cottage is the most amazing place to stay before and after a wedding.

Extremely comfortable cottage in a lovely location. The included towels, toiletries, etc means it feels like staying in a very nice hotel with the freedom of being in a cottage. Combermere Arms nearby does excellent food.

reason for good in comfort category instead of excellent was because sofa a bit tired and very saggy. Bed really comfortable and dogs loved woodburner!

Very happy with our stay. However to indulge in nit picking, for pensioners it would help to have a grab rail in the shower. Being able to leave at a later time would also be a benefit to us! Combermere provides excellent accommodation but it is a touch expensive.

We really enjoyed our stay with you. The cottage is very well equiped and very relaxing.
We did notice that the washing machine instructions did not actualy relate to the machine that was on site.
We would definately recommend you to others.

The dried flowers in the lodge were dirty & needed replacing. The sofa & chairs needed replacing as they were old & uncomfortable. The TV needed to be on the wall & lose the round table which was taking up valuable floor space & housing a broken & outdated CD player. Better signage & a map needed for the woodland walk, a circuit needed. Breakfast pack was expensive & a little oil would have helped to give a choice of how one wished to cook it. Staff very pleasant & helpful, although we could have done without the wake up call from the law mower outside the lodge at 9.15 for 30 mins. I went to look in the walled garden & was told it was closed for a wedding? I was charged £10 per night for my dog when we were only there for a 2 night stay only in the lodge for 1 full day & we were out the lodge for that day. The grounds were lovely & well kept. Our stay was restful & the lodge aside from the above, was quaint & comfortable with plenty of wildlife to watch, foxes, squirrels, rabbits & birds of prey.

We really had a lovely break at Stone Lodge - we completely recharged our batteries and were very lucky with the weather too. This was our second stay at Combermere Abbey cottages and we weren't sure it could be as wonderful as last time but it was. A little bit of luxury in an idyllic spot in the world.

After a recent hectic workload we both needed a complete break and rest to re-charge our batteries and this is exactly what we found with Stone Lodge and the surrounding towns and countryside.

Stone Lodge is a wonderful accomodation and it was such a pleasure to return to after time away sightseeing. The lodge itself had all that one needed comfort wise and despite not having the best of weather, it did not seem to matter once we were back inside.

We had our wedding reception at the beautiful combermere Abbey in May 2013 and loved the place and the cottages. So what better way to spend our 1st Anniversary back where it began. Stone lodge is beautiful so peaceful and perfect for a romantic relaxing getaway. Will certainly be booking again soon.

Stone Lodge is a charming, well appointed, well-equipped, homely cottage in its own grounds which was perfect for our short stay. We wish that we could have stayed for a few days more to further enjoy the comfortable and relaxing experience that we both had. We will definitely return one day.

We had a long weekend at Stone Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed it. The property was comfortable, warm and well equipped to a high standard. We felt that the downstairs en suite should have underfloor heating as the stone floor was very cold underfoot. The knock on from this was that the floor became quite wet from the open shower and thus remained so for some time. Perhaps heavyweight bathmats would be helpful. The inclusion of toiletries and cleaning products were appreciated. This property has a definite home from home feel to it and is one I could get used to. Local pubs are good and there is plenty to see within a short distance. Thanks again and it is one property we could re visit and do recommend.
