Higher Wiscombe is near The Jurassic Coastline in East Devon. There are three cottages, two sleep six, one sleeps twenty and all bedrooms are ensuite. There is a pool in summer, a games room and 52 acres for guests to wander and explore. Very private location, dogs and children welcome.
We had a wonderful week staying in Buzzard at Higher Wiscombe. The property itself was every bit as beautiful as the photos on the website and the autumnal colours of the valley below were enjoyed many times from a variety of terraces! We were so thrilled that the pool was still heated and in action and, complete with slide, entertained our children even in the cooler evenings. Lorna and Alistair were wonderful hosts - nothing too much trouble (oops - gin but no tonic? No problem!). We very much hope we can return as it was just blissful!
The Old Winery is situated in the most beautiful position with wonderful surrounding countryside. Bedrooms and living areas are five star. Masses of room for different aged groups all to be happy.
Our booking was handled very efficiently. We were looked after very well during our stay. I could not recommend The Old Winery more highly. .
This is the second time we have stayed at Higher Wiscombe, the first being in 2007 when our children were small (they are now 17 and 19). Flint Barn and the whole place was just as lovely as we remembered it and we all had a fabulous few days there after the months in lockdown staring at the same four walls of our home in Surrey! Alistair and Lorna were as friendly and helpful as ever and the extra touches in the cottage were very welcome and made our arrival even more special. This time we had a dog with us and the provision of crate, bowls, treats etc. for him was so helpful too.
We had a lovely stay in Thatched Cottage. It was clean and well-appointed and although there were other cottages on site, you felt you had your own privacy. We found lots of great costal walks to do nearby. We would highly recommend it as a place to stay.
