Hippisley Hut is a spacious verandah-fronted, family-friendly and dog-friendly self-catering property within walking distance of Old Hunstanton beach and the local pub. Suitable for large or two holidaying families, Hippisley Hut can accommodate up to nine guests across a selection of double and twin beds with one single. Perfectly located to explore North Norfolk and beyond, Hippisley Hut offers a secluded and relaxing break on the coast.

Good value place to stay, that was off set by it being a longer walk to the shops and eatery’s of hunstanton. The beds were extremely comfortable, all areas well presented despite it being an older property. Minor concerns were the dishwasher wasn’t working correctly, no salt, holes blocked and Mirror wonky in bedroom and one of the kitchen bin didn’t shut. These were communicated when handing the keys back and appreciate the company won’t know unless they are informed. The property could do with a better system of recycling bins, the bin bags were very thin tore easily and too short for the kitchen bins. Nothing appropriate to put your recycling in to carry to the bins outside.We did enjoy our stay and will return if prices stay competitive, unlike other properties in their collection which seem to be getting over priced.

We have been visiting Hippisley Hut for a number of years now, however we have felt this year it wasn’t quite up to the standard as in the past. Downstairs bathroom could do with looking at as panelling is coming away from the walls, outside security light not working, just seemed tired (lick of paint needed).

We love coming to stay and hopefully will again in the future.

Perfect holiday home for our three generations of family, 7/8 adults and two toddlers. Plenty of room for everyone and space for the children to play. Very comfortable, well equipped and plenty of bathrooms!
Such a good location within walking distance of a beautiful beach and other local amenities, including a good playground.
Made for a relaxed and enjoyable holiday.

Accommodation is roomy allowing multiple family groups to have own space both inside & out. Access to the beach is walkable with both prams & small children. Location is ideal for visiting local towns and beaches . Multiple local eateries are within a short drive or walkable

Beautiful house and location for family get together. Comfortable beds, relaxing and peaceful, ideal location to get away from it all and watch the local wildlife. Short walk to the beach and local shop. Very friendly staff, very helpful when booking, prompt to return deposit and quick to return some property we left behind. Would highly recommend. Well equipped with everything you will need to make your stay comfortable.

Wonderful stay at Hippisley hut, great location visited by friendly muntjac daily. Reading room amazing views. Well equipped with plenty of room. Ideal location for beach, shops and pubs and Hotels. Hippisley Hut is a really lovely quirky house, comfortable, very clean, very well equipped, spacious, attention to detail. Ideal for larger groups and worked really well with 3 different generations. Plenty of room to park. Quiet and private. Great location in stunning Old Hunstanton. A bit of wear & tear but to be expected, nothing too noticeable though.
Would stay here again and would definitely recommend.

This is a lovely cosy cottage. It is very well equipped. Some of the seating is in need of either replacing, or re upholstered, as it is badly stained. The windows are very delicate and difficult to open. Some areas do need decorating but the building is old. It is very spacious with plenty of parking space. You will not be cold as the heating is very efficient. The sitting room has an open fire but it is warm enough without it. There is plenty of hot water. The location is ideal, near the beach and local restaurants. We would book this property again.

We have just spent a most wonderful week in this glorious house. We were 3 generations aged 19 to 78 in various combinations throughout the week. The living space is amazing with open kitchen dining and it never felt busy, just lovely laid back living with everything you need. The beds are amazing! A few minutes to the beach and The Lodge , it couldn’t be more perfect in my opinion. Rustic charm and modern living in perfect combination.

A lovely week, the location is perfect for beach, pubs, restaurants. Very quiet, no light pollution, a superb holiday house. The history attached is an added bonus. With wet weather, the aquarium and swimming baths came in useful. Plenty of games and puzzles in the house too.

We love Hippisley Hut, it’s our second time staying there. It’s perfect for big groups, with the second tv room ideal for kids.
The only niggle would be that kitchen could really do with another fridge in it at least, and a bit of a make over at best.
It’s a lovely comfortable house, we’ll definitely be back.

The house was great and had all we needed (something for everyone !); dishwasher, washing machine and drier, as well as a coffee machine, toys, games and a well equipped kitchen with plenty of plates, glasses and all the kitchen utensils we might need including plastic plates for young children.It was close to a shop, beach with a good beach cafe selling a good range of food for lunches and icecream and also a Michelin starred restaurant . It was in a very peaceful location although it was useful to be able to have 2 distinct parts of the house so that some members of our family prone to waking early and during the night could be confined and contain their noise whilst the others slept . The welcome package was a nice surprise.

The 'Hut' was perfect for our family get together. Several separate areas to relax in if you wanted to have some quiet time. A large lounge, kitchen and outside seating area to be sociable. Shame the weather wasn't good enough for us to try out the very impressive looking barbecue.

Stayed a week here with my family, six adults and one child, at the end of June and were extremely fortunate to have the most beautiful weather.
The Hut is a very interesting place with lots of room and everyone appreciated the big white fluffy towels, the big comfy beds and the lovely kitchen which had everything you could ever want. And lovely views across the countryside.
The beach was only a ten minute walk away and being in the very quiet old part of Hunstanton it was never crowded even on the hottest day. We loved the cliffs and did some fossil hunting. We didn't find anything but it was fun trying so don't forget to take your small hammer and chisels.
We walked to the main Hunstanton which was a longish walk but easily doable. By car it's 5 min drive and there's plenty of parking along the road.
We all had a very good time.

Wow what a beautiful house! It has everything you need in a quiet location.Even had deer visiting the garden everyday,so a warning to anyone with dogs as their was a tiny gap in hedge where it came through,not a problem though lovely to see wildlife.Beautiful outdoor area with lovely comfy furniture and a lovely little sun trap.Pub 5 mins walk away,beach a bit longer walk but lots of little paths to walk down near golf course.Overall a brilliant week!

We enjoyed 2 weeks at Hippisley Hut and thoroughly recommend a stay at this spacious and comfortable house. The Welcome box and other extras were much appreciated too. The dogs had a jar of biscuits provided, which they enjoyed and there is plenty of space for them in the kitchen/diner. The garden is not totally secure as a three legged muntjac deer managed to visit the garden through the hedge from the adjacent field. Our labradors were keen to follow as it made a quick exit! Overall this was not a big problem and it wouldn't put me off booking HH again.
The house is in a peaceful setting, away from traffic noise, but only a few minutes walk to the beautiful beach and other amenities near by.
A holiday in North Norfolk is wonderful and relaxing. Can't wait to return.

This is our second winter stay at Hippisley hut & we love it, a great big cosy home from home. Immaculately clean, a fabulous welcome pack & all of the things you need to do as much self catering as you need. The location is tucked away which I guess in peak season is a bonus, but a short walk to the beach. In winter the open fire is gorgeous with plenty of logs supplied, the heating makes the house cosy in minutes. The beds are AMAZING, super comfy with high quality bedding & plenty of towels. The balcony is a great relaxing space for reading (lots of books/games supplied too).Well planned out for dogs, so they can be part of your holiday with the huge kitchen space.. thank you so much & feel sure we will be back again..

We had a very enjoyable holiday at Hippisley Hut. The property is really spacious, relaxing, comfortable and ideally located for walks along the superb beach. Old Hunstanton is delightful.

The facilities and furnishings at the property are of a very high standard. Unlike most holiday cottages we have stayed in the frying pans are non-stick and the kitchen knives actually cut!

We highly recommend Hippisley Hut and Hunstanton as a holiday stay.

We booked Hippersley Hut for a family holiday to celebrate a birthday. Hippersley hut had space and character. It is very well equipped and comfortable. It is also in walking distance to the beach. We loved all the rooms the children had great fun playing hide and seek and we loved the reading room upstairs . We will return some day thank you a magical time in a magical place .

Just returned from our fourth stay at Hippesley, can’t recommend this place highly enough, everything you need and more for a relaxing break. The staff at The Lodge are friendly and welcoming and always there if you need anything. We needed emergency vet treatment and Coastal vets at Snettisham were absolutely brilliant. Already booked for next year!

We are regular visitors to Norfolk, always renting holiday homes and this is the most excellent property and location. Everything we wanted and more for what we felt was good value for the size, quality and service. Spacious house and with safe outside space. Large living areas all very well fitted. Comfy beds and soft furnishings. Large showers - hot water is plentiful. Some thought has gone into providing a selection of books and games to enjoy. We loved the warmth of the reading room, the peace, privacy and the views. We spent our days beach walking and exploring. We could easily have not left Old Hunstanton as we had everything we needed in the house and close by. The weather was glorious which helped!

One of the best out of season breaks for our family.
The accommodation was warm, clean and very spacious for 10 people with enough car parking space for 3-4 cars.
The Hut is down a long drive away from noise and traffic and the location is first class. The property is ideally positioned for long walks and has a range of eating and drinking places within minutes from the front door.
We would return!

It's the third time now we've stayed at Hippisley Hut which says a great deal. The property had obviously been painted inside with some of the blinds and curtains also renewed. The idyllic setting and location is one of the main selling points, being as it's far enough away from the road to give peace and quiet, but not so much that you're having to walk roughly more than 6mins to the shop or 10mins to the beach. You can just about see the sea from upstairs, with clear views across an adjacent field with Muntjac Deer roaming around. There's ample parking for several cars with plenty of space outside to relax when the sun's out. The exterior does look a little tired now, with the windows frames being in need of maintenance and painting, and the fence directly outside the front door requires attention, as there's paint feeling off with some signs of rotting. The property would also benefit from stock fencing around the perimeter, especially if you have a determined dog, as it's not secure. The house itself is utterly charming, hugely spacious and well appointed. Having wooden and tiled floors in the kitchen and lounge area is great, especially with pets. We found the microwave wasn't working, but the member of staff at the Lodge dealt with this really quickly, personally bringing a replacement over within an hour or so of the issue being reported. We also left an item of sentimental value behind, but again the staff located it, parcelled it up and ensured it was sent out on the day we'd left. I cannot fault their customer service, it was superb. Putting those minor issues of the exterior aside, it's a fantastic property that we wouldn't hesitate to return to. There's so much to do, just on the doorstep, you could get away with not using your car at all once you're there. When the tide is out Hunstanton is a short walk away, which has lots of shops etc. to wander around. With acres of beach to explore out the other way towards Holme, Brancaster etc.

I am delighted that your third trip was just as enjoyable as all the others and we look forward to welcoming you back again. Unfortunately, at a cost to us, we had decommissioned the property last year so that the whole of the exterior could be renovated but were let down last minute. I am happy to report that it is scheduled to be done on the 18th March. We will of course look at the perimeter but have had no prior reports of it not being secure enough. I am pleased to hear that the staff at The Lodge Hotel were able to rectify the microwave issue and return your goods promptly. Thank you for all of your feedback.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. Lovely quiet location and only a short 10 minute walk to the sandy beach. The beds were super comfy and the bathrooms beautifully appointed. The kitchen had everything you might need. We enjoyed visiting a local RSPB reserve and Bircham windmill and bakery. It was great having a local shop and post office nearby.

This was our 14th visit to a safe secure and comfortable holiday home from home. A short walk to a splendid beach and a short drive into Hunstanton. Perfect for youngsters and dogs. Brittany the manager has always been available and most helpful on the rare occasions we have required assistance. Head office is just a short walk from Hippersley Hut within a good restaurant and bar. We have had perfect holidays there since 2007.

We had a lovely break at the hut, very spacious and comfortable. The hut is very private with a nice garden. There is everything you need. We hired a hot tub which made it extra special. We would definitely recommend, thank you.

Fantastic properties provided by the Lodge, have stayed in most of their properties over the years and have not once been disappointed. Friendly sociable staff and nothing is too much problem. Brittany ((Manager) at the Lodge is absolutely amazing !!!!

Our original stay was arranged for May, due to lockdown it had to be rearranged for September. Hippisley Hut is Quirky, spacious, comfortable and warm! We walked to the beach, spent time sitting outside the beach cafe, sat in the garden, invited family for a bbq one evening and sometimes we sat and chatted in front of the fire or around the big kitchen table! Such a treat after lockdown!



Perfect for family get togethers and perfectly located near the beach.

This was our second stay at Hippisley Hut. We love that it is very close to the beach and the downstairs bedrooms made it suitable for our disabled daughter and us to be close by. Unfortunately, it will be our last stay as the downstairs bathroom is no longer suitable to meet her needs (it's such a shame that it hasn't been made into a wet room with a shower chair and grab rails to be a truly inclusive property).

Would love to say we found fault ,place was terrible etc etc so plenty of booking space will be available during 2020 for us to choose.Basicaly we did not want to leave but had to due to new booking guests arriving on 27th if not we would have stayed another week .Fantastic place to stay can not fault great company team run to perfection,will be booking again and again Regards David & Emma

This was our 12th visit to Hippisley Hut and we’ve booked for next year. Says it all. We like the security and privacy it affords bearing in mind we take 4 grandchildren and two dogs. We all thoroughly enjoyed our recent August visit as ever.

Safe for children although not much outside space. Garden furniture sturdy and bbq is gas, not sure if that was mentioned in the original details, so I bought charcoal! Sainsbury’s deliver to this area but the Thornham Deli a few miles away do an excellent range of ready meals and lots of quality food and drink. Their all day breakfast is great. The house had no brochures or leaflets which would have given us an idea of local amenities. The Lodge Inn is good for food and so is the beach cafe. The little PO sold almost everything and their fresh croissants are worth the short walk before breakfast.
The en suite double upstairs bedroom door was very stiff to open and close and the other upstairs double had no wardrobe or hanging space which was inconvenient.
The two orange bins were identical so confusing to know which took rubbish and which was recycle.
All in all a lovely area if you avoid going into Hunstanton which is funfairs etc but The Sea Life Centre was useful on a rainy day for children.

Couldn’t recommend Hippesley Hut enough. The accommodation is spacious with quality fittings and well equipped kitchen. The beds are huge and very comfy, absolutely ideal for two families. We loved spending the evening up in the reading room looking out over field, it is so lovely and peaceful away from the road and a short walk to the beach. We did have one small issue with the surrounding hedge/mesh is not quite secure enough to stop a small dog from escaping! We have already booked to return next year.

This is an ideal property for a large family or friends getting together. We went for Christmas and it looked very festive. It is well stocked with everything you may need. The kitchen work tops are in need of replacing but it is only a minor fault. The beds are comfortable with nice clean bedding. It is ideally located near the beach and a local pub that sells good food. We would book this property again.

I must say the staff were extremely helpful they all had cheerful but professional nature about them, especially Amy, as without her help in finding us a home for our Motorhome, the week would have not be so amazing

Had a most enjoyable stay at Hippisley Hut. The cottage was very well equipped and the complimentary things left to enhance our stay ie; Bottle of Wine, Fruit Cake and TV Magazine were both unexpected and well received.

There were 8 adults in our party and the cottage space most ample for our needs.

We would definately use Norfolk Coast Holiday Cottages in the future should we visit this area again.

We had a lovely stay at Hippisley Hut. The beach was only a short walk away so we were perfectly situated. The downstairs bedroom was ideal for our disabled family member. If you plan to complete any alterations to the property, it would be amazing if adaptions could be made to make it fully accessible (making the downstairs shower room into a wet room with grab rails and shower seat and if you really want to make it truly inclusive a hoist and changing bench). The area is so short of fully accessible properties that I feel this would be hugely popular for families with disabled members.

Hippisley Hut is a very unique property.
It is an excellent base for a large group of people/family/families to enjoy both the property & Norfolk coast.
There is lots of room both inside the property and in the grounds to have both a relaxed & fun filled holiday.
The location is within walking distance of Old Hunstanton beach.

We had two great weeks at hippisley hut. Fabulous house. So big. There was only three of us it was like passing ships in the night. Upstairs reading room is fab , but it was a bit too hot to use as the weather was very hot. As usual the service we received was second to none, and britiny was so nice. If you like away from the hustle and bustle this house is for you. Would Recomend hippisley for large family as there is plenty of space. We had no faults with the house, we just found it a little bit too quiet at night . We had two small dogs with us and the garden was great for them. Regards the moffats

We really love hippisley hut this was our third stay. It is in a perfect location very peaceful and quiet but a short walk to the beach and the lodge. You can almost feel the sense of history and it's nice that the owners keep making improvements the en suite was a lovely surprise!

Another enjoyable holiday in one of Norfolk Coast Holiday Cottages.
My sisters, sister in law and friends were all impressed by the high standard of everything in the house!
It is very comfortable and we particularly appreciated having a log fire as we had a few days of terrible weather.
Hope to return there again one day!

Great location in Old Hunstanton, secluded but only minutes walk from the beach. Huge floorspace ideally suited for 2 families - lovely lounge for the adults and one for the kids. Great social kitchen space made it a great base. Fantastic location in a lovely village, few minutes walk to the pub and a few more to the beach. We loved our stay here and will be returning.

We have stayed in The Ionic Lighthouse twice with this company, once for Christmas which was absolutely amazing. I have to say that this property is on par if not even better! It's rural views are magical yet such a short walk to the beach and local amenities. The attention to detail within the property is second to none and the customer service outstanding. If you are considering renting this wonderful place I would highly recommend you book it right now!

A Very good weekend in a comfortable and unique holiday property well presented and well equipped.

A superb location, fantastic facilities. Only hesitation is lack of gate which means the dogs could not be let out in the garden without supervision and no door on the kitchen so difficult to prevent the dogs from getting upstairs, though only on the landing as all doors on bedrooms shut.

Excellent week at Hippisley Hut. Beautiful, clean, private, well presented property. Would definitely reconmend. The only down side for us, was that their was no main gate to the property, which meant the dog had to be kept on the lead in the garden.

Once again , the Norfolk Coast Holiday Cottage Company has excelled themselves with their new holiday cottage. Everything you need and perfect location for us for the week and Ralph and Ruby, our Labradors thought they were in paradise.
Plenty of room for everyone and sitting on the veranda in a rocking chair with a glass of processco was the icing on the cake !!
