The caravan is situated looking out over Loch Creran. It is spacious and comfortable with everything that is needed for a good time. The area is excellent for walking and cycling with a cycle path right next to the site. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location . Clean and comfortable accommodation. Plenty to do in the surrounding area.

Schöner Caravan in der Natur, etwas außerhalb gelegen. Ideale Lage zwischen Fort William, Glencoe und Oban (alles deutlich unter einer Stunde mit dem Auto).

Die Küche ist komplett ausgestattet (Geschirr, Pfannen, Töpfe, Backformen, etc.) & es gibt ein Panorama-Fenster zum Wasser. Zu zweit hatten wir sehr viel Platz und auch die Dusche ist für einen Caravan geräumig. Das Inn/der Pub, der ca. 5 Minuten fußläufig entfernt ist, war leider wegen Renovierung geschlossen. Dennoch gab es einige Möglichkeiten in der Nähe (ca. 15 min mit dem Auto) zu essen...wir können insbesondere das Old Inn direkt gegenüber von Castle Stalker empfehlen.

Insgesamt eine tolle Erfahrung, wenn man ein paar ruhige Tage in der Natur verbringen möchte und ein Auto dabei hat. Die Gegend selbst ist auch sehr schön und man hat direkt vor der Haustür einige interessante Wander- & Spazierwege, die man erkunden kann.

Tipp am Rande: unbedingt das Welcome-/Caravan Buch auf dem Tisch lesen! Die Gastgeber-Familie hat sich viel Mühe gegeben und es gibt viele Tipps zu Sehenswürdigkeiten und Unternehmungen in der Umgebung. :)

The location is gorgeous, one can dip in the Loch right from one's caravan. Great, unimpeded views. We had a lovely time.
Caravan is absolutely adequate, although the single beds are narrow, suitable for children only.
Poor supply of kitchenware, only two teaspoons, pans lacking lids.Vacuum cleaner broken. Couldn't reach the owners. Apart from that, certainly your money's worth.

What I love about Appin holiday Homes is the calm and relaxing atmosphere of the site. Having a caravan overlooking the Loch is just magical and even on a rainy day, it is enormously serene to look out over the water from the comfort of the warm, cosy caravan. I have recommended the caravans to many of my friends and family. Perfect!

We've been coming to Appin for about 15 years now and the fact we come from Birmingham just to stay in these caravans tells you something. The family are easy to contact if you need anything but it's so lovely that you can just be left to yourself. We always have loch facing as we just love the view. The caravans are really well kept. Basic and cosy inside (coffee tables were a nice addition this year). You get a dish cloth and washing liquid, a couple of mini shower products and a hairdryer. You have your own lettered parking space and the caravan is ready for when you arrive. Our 12 year old daughter just loves sitting and looking at the Loch and going down when the water is out. 100% I know we will return and we can't wait!

A wee break away for a few days. Views were stunning not only from the caravan, but from our wee local jaunts around the area. Castle Stalker, although day trips have finished for the season, will require a return visit.
Family run and met owners, Jim and Julie, and who can forget author Ian Weir, (Jim's Dad), who drives around the site. A gent full of knowledge and stories. Gives a short history of area which we found interesting.
The nearest restaurant only 10 minute walk, was overpriced and trying to deliver fancy food. Not what is needed for the area. Food was edible.
Caravan was like new. I would personally change some of colour scheme to make more warming, ie, red curtains and cushions. A buggy to transport luggage from cars to caravan would be helpful, is just a suggestion.

Spent 4 nights here in caravan J. Lovely location right by the water, kitchen is A+, lots of space for 2 people. Surroundings and nearby places are beautiful and provide lots of opportunities for walking and enjoying the coast.
Host was very nice and helpful! We would definitely come here again.

2nd time staying at Appin holiday homes, 1st time we stayed in one of the lodges which was lovely but when we decided to book again we went for one of the caravans which was ideal for just the two of us, everything you need and very comfortable, only negative was we couldn’t find instructions for the heating and could have done with it on a couple of nights. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The location was ideal for touring the area, walking distance to to a Creagan Hotel was a short walk, and the food and service was excellent, with stunning views. We were very lucky with the weather. However on the downside we were so relieved to have had the foresight to take our own bed linen and towels. There were no towels, and the bed linen was way past it’s best, which is very unusual by Scottish standards, based on that, we would not return to that site.
As for your comment below, I would let other people make that decision!

We had a great weeks stay. Large comfortable caravan with stunning views of the loch.
Spent time on the water snorkeling and paddlebording. Plenty local walks and visited Glenvoe and Oban.
Great dinner at the Creagan Inn just 5 minutes walk away.
Would highly recommend Appin Holiday Homes.

The hosts were very friendly. We had a brilliant time with stunning views. The only feedback I'd like to give is both bed had bed bugs which needs a cleaning. Other than this it was an amazing holiday for us. We loved it and would like to revisit again.

This is a really nice location. Pebble shore, peaceful view over loch and wide green space. Caravan was spacious, modern and clean.

My wife and I booked caravan 'J' for a weeks stay in July 20.
We arrived on the Saturday evening to find a beautiful caravan in a fantastic location near the edge of the loch.
The caravan was in pristine condition, spotlessly clean and sanitised.
We initially had a problem with locking the caravan and contacted Jim by phone. In spite of there being a torrential shower, Jim arrived five minutes later and explained that the door handle has to be in the raised position before the lock will engage.

Next morning I suffered a medical emergency and Julie supplied the number for the local A & E in Oban! Unfortunately, they did not have the facilities I urgently needed. Consequently, to our utter dismay, we had to cancel the rest of the holiday and return home!! We had been looking forward and saving for this holiday for months, so we were absolutely devastated that we were only able to spend one night there. However, we hope that in the future, we may actually be able to return and enjoy a whole week in such a heavenly place.

Afterwards, we were surprised (and really grateful) when Julie very generously returned most of the money we had paid.

1. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the caravan just by the loch - just what we wanted, just what we got!

2. Good urgent service when electricity went off- supplied with tea-lights. A mobile number might be useful - even if it’s for a text.

As so many folk don’t smoke now, it might be useful to have a lighter available for the cooker, especially those newer vans which rely on an electrical supply to ignite. Also, we were unkeen to take the naked flame into the bedrooms - so perhaps the wee battery tea-lights might be safer, especially if children are about.

3. Whilst we found the games room and the WiFi code easily, we didn’t discover the Reception till we needed to leave the key there! The sign is only visible once you get there!

4. Instructions regarding the central heating and water would also be useful - or info that it is set at whatever temperature between these hours.

Stayed for a week in April with my husband, the caravan was spacious, modern and comfortable, a home from home but with the addition of the stunning peaceful views over the loch, the site was very well looked after and in a great location, we visited Oban approx 20 mins by car and Fort William 40 mins. We met Jim the owner who was very friendly and helpful and also within a 10 min walk (or up to an hour if you walk along the loch side exploring!) there is a lovely pub/restaurant Creagan Inn which serves the best Sunday roast!
I have recommended Appin holiday homes to my friends and family and we cannot wait to come back again soon.

Booked a week in Caravan J, what a view from the window, just perfect. Very comfortable bed, basic provisions catered for, crockery etc. Shower was great, enough space for mine & my husband's clothes. Great electric fire, very modern electric fire ,would take the chill off first thing in the morning & late at night. Ideal spot to visit surrounding area. An area to recycle plastics, etc, great facility. Would highly recommend, hope to return one day & stay in the Lodges.

The location is an absolute delight. We were lucky with two weeks of glorious sun. Watching the light change on the loch with the movement of the late night sun became almost an obsession. Picturesque. Highly recommend this website. The owners couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you.

On arrival nobody was in reception. Called them on the phone and was told that our caravan was ready with the lights on and keys in the door. The caravan was absolutely beautiful, lovely and clean, modern and very spacious...I have never seen so much room in a master bedroom in the caravan. The only thing I would say is missing is somekind of table lamp in the lounge because you either had to have the main lights on or off, no in between. Just note that you are quite remote so there is minimal lighting around the caravans but this didn't bother us at all. The loch view was stunning and from the lounge window the view was just amazing, very peaceful. We stayed with our 7 year old daughter and she loved it. This is our second stay and we will definitely be back. When we left we dropped the keys up ay reception at 9.30am and again nobody there. Lovely caravan with picture perfect views up the loch. Very clean caravan and well maintained grounds. Near to Creagan Inn with good food and drink if you don't fancy cooking . Perfect for a relaxing chill out break

Very enjoyable stay at Appin Holiday Homes. We stayed for two weeks. First week in a lodge. Second week in the caravan. The owners allowed us to pack our bags and leave them in the lodge hallway along with an almost full fridge. Whilst we went out for the day. On return to our caravan for our second week, all our belongings and fridge items were safely in there. Very good service.

Caravan was new 9/10 bed could have been a bit better, but that is down to the manufacturer
Wi-Fi wasn't available in the caravan
The site was very good ,small but not to many caravans all with excellent views 10/10
A good pub just down the road

Brand new caravan with all the necessary requirements. It is situated in a beautiful part of Scotland
and with easy access to Oban, Fort William and the length of the west coast. The only downside
was the weather, as it rained pretty much the whole week, but that is the chance you take in this
country.
The hosts were very helpful and readily available to assist or give advice. Overall, a value for money
holiday. Only negative besides the weather was the fact we had a new caravan but, with a table and
chairs on the verandah, sadly needing a coat of paint/varnish.

This was the first time we have holidayed in a static caravan and it was a great experience. The location is superb, immediately by the loch side and lovely to be able to look straight out of the caravan on to the loch. The general location is also very good in terms of visiting this part of Scotland as many areas of interest are within easy reach and, although we didn't have a chance to explore them, there are many local walks nearby with information provided on site. We also noted what looked like a good network of cycle routes as well. The caravan we stayed in was very comfortable and well provided for. Jim came to check we had settled in ok and was very approachable and there was a friendly atmosphere to the place.

We booked one of the older caravans because it was a late booking and one of the only vans left. That said it was very pleasant, clean and comfortable inside, albeit showing some signs of its age now. The location was delightful, perched right above the beach with beautiful views of the loch. The vans are well spaced and there are only 8 so we had plenty of peace and quiet. I can't comment on the service because we had no need to call them.

Lovely comfortable caravan J by the loch and great location to visit places between Oban and Fort William,Creagan Inn nearby that has a beautiful view and meals. The caravan is spacious and well equipped,good storage and great views of the loch also great for families with use of games room. Plenty of places of interest to visit i.e castles,wildlife,woodlands walks and activities.

We have stayed for 3 days. The weather was a little bit cold but Gasfire was very helpful.we have enjoyed very well.location was great.we went to Oban by car.it's not far...wonderful place.

Caravan ok a bit grubby in the kitchen area. Only one pillow per person supplied. Did not state that parking at the caravan was not available. Location stunning!

We are sorry you were disappointed with your stay. However parking is provided at the caravan park just not directly beside the vans as this spoils the view! This caravan is an older model as stated on our website but has a stunning location and the price reflects the age.

Great stay, your are to fell so welcome and nothing's to much. Been 3 time in 6 weeks and love every stay. so relaxing with loch creran in front of you. Not to far from oban to great location. Highly recommend a stay here.

We had a lovely relaxing weeks holiday. We were very lucky with the weather, it was beautiful everyday. Any problems we had eg when the light went out on the boiler Jim came to sort it out straight away.

great caravan park for canoeing and kayaking. Been there twice and will be back next year!

. The location of this caravan park was ideal for us. Super for cycling as the cycle route goes right passed the site - no need to cycle on the road. We were also a few minutes cycle from the Creagan Inn which does great pub food. The caravan was great value for money and the owners very helpful when needed but leaving you to get on and enjoy your holiday in peace. Lovely quiet site.

Stayed here in May 2015 and could not fault the location. The caravan sat facing, and almost on the loch with terrific views, there was a pub about 600 yards from the site, (the Creagen Inn) which was easy to walk to and the food served was of very good quality and price. The caravan we had (caravan J) was quite dated and had no heating of any kind in the bedrooms or the bathroom which made it very cold at night, especially when the wind blew and this made our stay a bit uncomfortable for 4 of the 7 days we stayed but not overly off putting.

The whole of Argyll and Bute, and indeed the whole of the north west of Scotland has some terrific scenery and this caravan site is very well situated to take advantage of this with only a 20 minute drive to Oban, 35-40 minute drive to Fort William, 20 minute drive to Glencoe and the best drive of all about 1hr 45minutes to Mallaig. There are plenty of sports, walking, climbing, fishing, boating, horse riding, water sports and boating but if you only want to relax, then the location is perfect for this too.

All in all, a great time was had on this holiday and would definitely recommend Appin Holiday Homes to anyone, just remember to ask about the heating, after all, this is Scotland.

What a stunning location. Right on the Loch and a brilliant base for touring the west coast. Caravan was spotlessly clean and lovely and warm. Great inn five minutes walk away if you fancied a tipple or meal. We will definitely return.

We had a fantastic time at the loch! The caravan site is amazing! The caravan faced the loch and had the most amazing view! We could launch our canoe straight from the caravan and could see seals in the lake! Fishing, paddling, open fire on the beach.... Anything you wish for a camping holiday!
We will be back next year!

The loch-side location is stunning - watching the loch wildlife (including seals!) from the comfort of the sofa was wonderful.
Jim & Julie, the owners are lovely, and very helpful. In fact when we first arrived, we used the microwave, and it gave off an electrical smell, so we mentioned it to Jim, and it was exchanged within 5 minutes!

Midges were a nuisance, and although they don't bite if you use repellent (Boots' 50% Deet is good) we felt a bit stuffy in the caravan, as you can't open the windows without them coming in. Mozzie mesh on a couple of windows would have been a real help.

Oh, and a minor thing that we meant to mention to Jim when we there, the tin-opener was a bit knackered. I had to use my pen-knife.

Apart from that, we had a great week, with fabulous weather, and we're intending to come back next year! :o)
