Number One The Terrace is a fantastic large holiday cottage located in Windermere village in the heart of the English Lake District. The property sleeps 14 in 4-star deluxe luxury and is the perfect place to base yourself for a short break or longer holiday. The house features a 15-seat cinema in the cellar with 75 inch Smart TV. Number One also has a 7 seat hot tub in a private area. Whether you're looking for a family holiday, a girl's escape, a couples weekend or a venue for a family celebration Number One our big cottage in the South Lakes could be the perfect answer.

Please note: We welcome up to 4 dogs at the property. There is an additional charge per dog, which can be added at check-out.

We had an amazing time celebrating our parents golden wedding anniversary. The house is spacious and ideal for entertaining. The location is brilliant and in close proximity to some amazing restaurants. Andy, the owner was incredibly responsive to any queries we had. We will be back!

There was an issue with the roller blind in room 4(reported to cleaners on departure)and the ensuite shower didn't work properly after a couple of days . Other than that there are comfortable beds and linens; very cosy and warm and a brilliant location. Constructive suggestions would be somewhere to put shower gel etc in the showers, replacement colour coded chopping boards and replacement if just a few pieces of crockery.....but on balance great!

Number one The Terrace is an excellent property for a large group of people looking to stay in the lakes. It has everything you need for self catered accommodation; plenty of space to relax, nice big kitchen and utility, comfy and spacious bedrooms, bathrooms with everything you’d expect, and a hot tub and cinema room for good measure.

Everything at the property worked as expected, with the exception of the WiFi in the cinema room in the basement. We just weren’t able to get a consistent connection to stream a film. But don’t let this put you off, if you’re anything like us you’ll be out enjoying everything the lakes have to offer anyway!

Thanks for this lovely review Sion. We checked the cinema room after you left, the TV internet settings had been changed from wired to wifi. We have it set up as wired so there is no wifi issue. We're always on the end of the phone if you are staying again and have this sort of issue we can usually talk you through how to resolve it. We had the most amazing time in the house from movie night in the cinema room to cooking a beautiful family Sunday roast. Everything and more is available in the house. The beds are so comfy towels fluffy and white. The location was great my friend had to come after work so got the train it was a 2 min walk from the house.
We will definitely be booking another stay we had the best time xx

We absolutely loved our family holiday to No One The Terrace. The house was brilliant, plenty of room for us, children, grandchildren and dogs to chill out . Superb location, close to restaurants and shops and quick drive away to some lovely places to visit.. time went far too quick and everyone loved it. We definitely stay again.

We had a lovely stay at Number One. The house is amazing - has everything you need for a big group stay. All the rooms are massive and beautifully decorated too. Especially appreciated the spare hooks on the walls meaning you could hang up any party decor without using blue tac

No1 met all our expectations, it is a lovely house for a family celebration.
The garden was safe for our family dog.
The location is perfect for bus and train stations but if you wanted a quiet countryside location this is not the property for you as it is situated on a busy main road. We did however enjoy the outside space for dining. Would recommend to all.

We stayed at 1 The Terrace to host a hen do and it was the perfect house for a wholesome hen do for 14 people. The rooms were all a great size and this was matched by the living space too. The hot tub and the cinema room were a great bonus as well!

My family meet in Windermere every year and come in from all over the world. We usually stay at Boston House, but this year we had to try Number One. Even though some of the family had to cancel due to illness, everyone still had a wonderful time. They actually preferred Number One to Boston House (just) which I never thought I'd hear them say.
Great house, great hosts and an amazing location.

I stayed here in 2023 for my friends birthday and as soon as I got back I knew I wanted to go again this time with my partner and a group of couples.
Got it booked again and it didn’t disappoint. As the organiser I was hoping my group would love the house just as much as me and it’s safe to say everyone did from the facilities to the location. I couldn’t recommend it enough and we will be back!

Great location for lots of walks & activities and within walking distance of some lovely Pubs, Bars & Restaurants.
The dining room is fantastic for a large group celebration.
Easy to find and within a 2 minute walk from Windermere station.

A really comfortable, well equipped house, big but really cosy. We comfortably sat 12 for dinner, loved the very well equipped kitchen and even mastered the Aga. The enclosed garden was really safe for our dogs and very handy location for local walks or as a base to explore further. Owners responded really quickly to any questions. We would definitely book again.

It was a perfect experience and Andy was fantastic to organise things with. We were a group of 20 and we all really enjoyed our experience. Thanks for hosting us and letting us stay in your amazing cottages, it was perfect!
Sadly I think cottages.com their booking system is absolutely dreadful, unprofessional and honestly can't believe they charged us £60 per cottage as a booking fee when they only didn't do anything but what they did was a mess.

We hired the house for a family get together to celebrate my 60th birthday, 8 adults and 3 children . The house was perfect in size and had plenty of space for everyone. The hot tub and cinema room went down a treat with the Children. The adults loved the bar in the hallway. The only negatives we had was were the house was situated.it side faced onto the main road into Windermere which is extremely busy and noisy, especially when sitting out on the front patio. However when in the house the noise was much less (until you opened the windows) The internal fire doors were very creaky and could not be propped open. On the first floor this disturbed everyone at night as there is only 1 en-suite bedroom.

Andy was excellent providing a lot of information about check in process and places to visit at Lake District.
Wonderful large house. Amazing kitchen and cinema room! Kitchen was fully equipped. Comfortable beds. Hot-tub was a bonus! Less than 2 minutes walk from the Windermere station and supermarkets, less than 5 minutes walk to town and 20 minutes walk to marina, 30 minutes tourist bus ride to Ambleside etc at £2 a journey. Very convenient location with lots of hikes. Quiet corner plot although next to the station and main road. Will definitely stay again. T group, July 2023
