Have stayed at Cologin many times over the years and have no hesitation in recommending this location for a relaxing break. It's out in the countryside with some forrest walks and on site bar and restaurant but only a 10 minute drive to Oban town centre.

Had a wonderful week’s stay at Cologin. Hosts are friendly, warm and welcoming. Set in beautiful countryside, the lodge is perfect for walkers, clean and comfortable. The fridge was slightly damaged, still useable and we were notified in advance so OK.

Had two meals at The Barn Bar - recommend booking ahead as it’s popular. Very tasty meals enjoyed by all of us. Service great even though very busy.

We had a great stay here. Excellent location and facilities. We had a 9ne bed chalet. They are small but well appointed. If staying for longer I would perhaps go for a larger lodge.

Katy paid us a brief visit after we had settled in; just to check that all was OK, and it was. She contacted us to say that we could arrive a bit earlier if we wished.. Well located for our visit to Oban, lovely and clean, warm and welcoming.
Enjoyed the walk to the Loch. Would thoroughly recommend. We would happily have stayed longer if we could.

Our stay at Cologin was a short break away from home, it was like a home from home, clean, spacious and everything you need.
We were extremely lucky and had some fabulous weather- not always guaranteed in Scotland! Katie was very friendly and made us feel welcome from before we arrived. We will definitely return.

Went in for a meal and drinks the first night of our stay it's a lovely pub with really helpful friendly staff,the drink prices were fine but I felt the food was over priced and not up to the prices charged and a limited venue ment the only option I had was a £25 steak and really don't think it was worth it,sorry but just being honest

I've lost count of how many times I have been to Cologin, it has a special place in my heart.
With the exception of the biblical 'Scottish Sunshine' everything was as it always is; clean, comfortable and very well presented and organised.
I am already planning my next visit.

The setting was lovely, nice and tranquil, signage was a bit early with regards to getting their on road out of Oban, a couple of times I nearly turned to early!. The actual accomodation was great, clean inside, deck and windows on the outside needed a small amount of TLC, What would have made our deck even better would have been the addition of a gate to keep our dog in and secure without having to keep him on the lead. Staff courteous. The Barn for food we felt was very expensive so didnt eat there and our room looked out onto the kitchen area with the chef's coming out on a fair number of occasions for a smoke break!

I would come back and stay.

Friendly family run business. Katie came across to check that all was ok and if we needed anything at all to let her know. Stayed in a cabin for 2. Lovely and clean. Bed really comfortable. Surroundings were stunning, peaceful. Not far from Oban if you needed shops etc. Felt really relaxed.

I first stayed here over 40 years ago. It was great with a young family. The last time I stayed was 10 years ago & the chalet was showing it's age but I was very pleased with the way the chalet had been refurbished on this visit. Clean & well equipped with great internet connection. One thing that has not changed over the years is the peacefulness of the location.

The Barn was a great local pub back in the day. Now it is more of a restaurant. Well that's a sign of the times I suppose.Food was good but on the pricey side.

The chalet was perfect for 2 adults and a very excited well behaved dog.
It was equipped with all you would need for a short stay. A perfect location with the highlights of Oban close by.
I would recommend to anyone looking for a getaway.

We stayed for a week in the one bedroom chalet. The chalet's have mostly all the home comforts needed. The chalet is small with limited storage. I would have liked to see a few more hooks on back of doors to hang clothes on, possibly divan bed with drawers underneath, perhaps shelves. It would have made quite a difference in space. Having said that, we really enjoyed our stay. The location is idyllic, peaceful and quiet with lots of walks on your doorstep. We slept really well and the kitchen was well equipped for eating in. The TV with integrated DVD player was welcomed and we borrowed some DVD's from the red phone box.

We met Katie a couple of times and she was so friendly. We received a whats app message before arriving to inform us of check in process. It really helped to smooth the arrival and we really liked the fact that the team weren't really 'in your face' but were on hand if you needed something. They just let you get on and have a fantastic holiday. We will return. Thank you all.

Great for families, couples and people on their own, also your dogs.
A wondefull place.

Had a wonderful stay in our chalet. It was really clean and warm and cosy. Katie sent a message on the day of our arrival and popped to check everything was ok the next day when we were settled. Everything was great and we really enjoyed ourselves. We will be back.

The only feedback I would give, is to ask the chefs in the kitchen to refrain from the Happy hardcore music blaring from the kitchen window. It was across from our chalet, and could be heard inside. There is no background noise at Cologin, as it's so quiet and the noise from the music wasn't really the ambiance I was going for!

After leaving the island of Mull we found ourselves stranded in Oban with nowhere to stay.
Despite trying twice to drive south to Edinburgh our car couldn’t get through the floods or closed roads due to landslides.

The only option was to find somewhere to stay the night but that wasn’t easy as most beds in Oban were already booked.

We ended up in “The Barn Bar” & restaurant on the outskirts of Oban looking for a drink & mentioned to the bartender our predicament. Very quickly he contacted Katie who runs the chalet’s and she came over to meet us with keys for a chalet for the night !

The following day after another night of heavy rain the track leading to the Chalet’s was under a foot of water. There was no way we were going to get out so Katie again helped us by driving through this flood first and we followed right behind.

We are so grateful for your help in providing somewhere to stay the night and for helping us through the floods, thank you !

On arrival we received a warm welcome from Katie. Our lodge was all ready for us and I can honestly say, it was lovely. Everything we needed for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Beautifully clean and very comfortable.
Views are amazing and with a lovely decking area with sunken blue lights, we could enjoy this view well into the evening in comfort.
We cannot wait to come again.

We stayed at Cologin many years,who when our children were young and we all enjoyed our holiday - so when we (and our dog) were looking for accommodation in the Oban area this year we thought we would visit again to see if our happy memories still held true. Well they did. We remembered that little buzz of excitement when we first turned off the main road and on to the twisting single track and the scenery becoming wilder and more beautiful. Arriving at the site we were delighted to see that externally things looked much the same, there were children playing and groups enjoying a drink outside The Barn. Internally the chalets had changed considerably, ours was lovely - small but with everything that we could need, the bathroom and the kitchen area newly refurbished and everything spotlessly clean and comfortable, we were particularly impressed with the users guide which suggested walks (which we took) and p!aces to visit nearby and we were contacted by the owners with directions and information prior to our arrival and again during our stay to check that all was OK. Visited The Barn a few times - excellent food and service! Really can't recommend Cologin enough

Back at Cologin for our second visit and really enjoyed our stay again. Stayed in a different lodge this time but just the same level of comfort and cleanliness. Everything u need for a comfortable stay. Manager, Katie is really helpful and really easy to talk to and communicate with through WhatsApp.
I could see the difference and the improvements they are trying to make from our last visit.
All in all a great wee place for a peaceful break away from it all. Will return again.

Great as usual. Warm and cosy lodge. Everything we needed. Great walks for the dog. Wanted somewhere to take our nervous dog for guy fawks and never heard one firework. Unfortunately I was unwell so didn't get to eat at the barn this time. Menu looked great too.

It felt like coming home! Returning to one of my favourite locations in the UK.we are divers diving the sound of mull.
The accommodation is great and very warm practicle and equipped for our needs,it's comfortable and spotlessly clean.
Plenty of parking for our boat and tow vehicle.
The barn is a real bonus and great that it was open in october.
Would highly recommend for all activities in the area.

We hebben genoten van ons verblijf. Een mooi verzorgde accommodatie, sfeervol en praktisch ingericht. In een prachtige omgeving waar we heerlijk konden wandelen met de hond. Her was ook heel erg fijn dat aan de overkant van ons huisje een restaurant was, the Barn. Daar hebben we een geweldige maaltijd gehad.

This was our third time staying at Cologin and we cannot fault it.
Katie is so helpful and we just absolutely love the everyone about it and so does our dog who love the walks in wood at the back of the property.

We'd been before, although it had been 5 years, and loved it so this break had a lot to live up to. It didn't disappoint. The lodges have all been refreshed recently so were even better than we remembered. Each perfectly formed lodge has everything you need - although remember to bring a hairdryer if you need one - we didn't, so it was perfect. Wonderful fluffy towels. Modern and neutral décor. Perfect place to lay your head after a full day of sight-seeing around Oban and the Inner Hebrides. Excellent location, close enough to Oban but definitely a rural setting. Loved our morning wake up from the sheep on the hill behind the lodge.
You need to try The Barn while you're there too. Excellent food and a very warm welcome.
It's very popular so get your booking in early so you're not disappointed. Can't wait to go back . . . .

We stayed in the first lodge for the weekend as part of a wedding party. The lodge had everything we needed for a short self catering stay. Being from the city, I was not prepared for the wake up calls from the sheep but not that put me off.

Overall the lodge was lovely, the bar staff were very polite and accommodating. Great place, great staff, amazing weekend.

Lovely place if you have pets dogs, lovely lodge however full of dog hairs and dirty windows. Poor quality pillows. Very basic accommodation.

Two of us stayed in a one bedroom lodge for a week. Whilst fully equipped and comfortable, in terms of space the single bedroom lodges are more suited to a short stay break rather than the week we were there.
Would we visit again? Certainly- Cologin is beautifully situated close enough to Oban to enjoy the amenities, but set in a quite spectacular Glen and the Barn is a joy, but we would take a larger lodge if staying more than three nights.

Would just like to say how fabulous this place is , what a hidden gem x the cabins have all been recently updated and you honestly couldn't ask for more x they are not only immaculate but they have such a lovely tranquil feel x the surroundings are ideal x the one and only thing I could find to take a star off for would be better pillows lol or more of them x but that hardly detracted from an amazing stay x the little balcony with table and chairs to sit out and enjoy the evening is just perfect x Also the Barn on site ( pub and restaurant ) is such a friendly welcoming place and the food is amazing x the new management team are so friendly x the combination of both the accomodations and such a lovely place to eat and socialise makes this little hidden gem a perfect getaway .I can't wait to return and spend some more time relaxing x will def be telling family and friends x

Having returned many times over the years I never fail to enjoy my stay. Attention to detail is everything,with nothing missed. The accommodation is warm comfortable clean and modern. Linda Katie and Jim look after your stay perfectly ,wealth of knowledge helping when we had problems with our boat. Nothing seams like to much trouble for them to help with.

Stayed in one of the cute little one bedroom chalets. Perfectly big enough for 2 plus a dog. Only negative was there wasn't a lot of storage place for clothes, especially if on a weeks holiday. There was room in the bedroom for a chest of drawers, which would have been ideal. This did not however detract from our comfort.
Would definitely recommend, and you got to try to the food at The Barn... but a word of warning... make sure you're hungry coz the portions are huge.....

Cologin is in a beautiful setting and was a great base for exploring the area. It was also the ideal place to relax after a busy day out and about. The chalet was perfect. It was lovely sitting on the porch watching the swallows darting in and out of the barn and seeing bats whizzing past the windows at night. It’s a 5 minute drive from the town of Oban which is a charming place - big enough to be interesting, small enough to feel personal, plus it’s a working town unlike many holiday destinations that have been taken over by holiday homes. Some terrific eateries too, especially if you like seafood. Oh and the Oban chocolate shop is a must. Better than Hotel Chocolat according to my girlfriend and she should know!
Katie and the staff are very helpful and nothing seemed to much trouble for them.
Our visit was a consequence of the pandemic. Normally our summer break is in the Alps in Austria or Bavaria or in the sun in Sicily or Ischia, but uncertainty surrounding foreign travel led us to finally visit the west of Scotland. What a joy it was. We left with much still to do and see and will definitely return to Cologin.

Arrived at our lodge after receiving a message as to what number of lodge we were in. The lodge was lovely with a sitting room/ kitchen that is fully equipped, lovely bathroom and bedroom with king-size bed, all really nicely decorated.
The chalets are on the farm property which is in a lovely rural location and so peaceful.
The hosts were very helpful and recommended a couple of places to eat with our dog.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked to come back next month and staying for three nights this time instead of two.

The peace and quiet of the place was wonderful. Great place for taking your dog; very dog friendly. great walk at back of chalets through forestry commission land. About a half hour walk takes you to some breath taking views of the loch.

We have just returned from here (2 humans and a spaniel)and it was awesome! I last stayed here in 2009 and boy has it changed. The lodges have been refurbished and are lovely- really cosy and spotlessly clean! Our host, Katie, was fantastic - gave us lots of helpful recommendations and even looked after our dog so we could have a relaxing trip to Mull. He loved being a honorary member of the resident canine ‘Cologin Crew’!
There’s some beautiful walks on site and it’s so peaceful. We can’t wait to return for a longer stay.

Impressed with what I believe is recently refurbished cabin. For 2 people, it was absolutely perfect. Small living are with TV and electric flame effect fire to relax in the evenings and a nice deck area just outside for the better weather. The kitchen was well equipped and the new modern bathroom was lovely. Bit out of the way but we knew that and it provided a lovely haven of quiet for us and the Barn Bar provided a social aspect of you wanted it. Best of both worlds. Would go back.

The location of this resort is why we wanted to stay here. The lodges are spotless clean and contain. Everything you need for your stay . The family who run the place are very friendly and helpfull. Our pet loved the walks and of course the doggie shower when needed.
My only criticism is the sofa was well used a bit awkward to get up off it .
I would though recommend this place for a visit . Hope you get nice weater .

It was immaculate. Super clean and well equipped. Everything was prepared for us arriving, heating on and all information made available to get started straight away.
Cologins location is perfect for Oban, only 5 minutes by car to centre of town. It is situated in a picturesque quiet Glenn with amazing views from the small hills around. Could not fault it in any respect. Would 100% stay here again.

Only 10 minutes drive from Oban and 30 minutes for the stunning seil island the location is excellent. The cabin we were told was newly refurbished during the covid closure so it was far nicer than we expected. It was very clean and modern inside with a Highland feel to the new design. Great little outside decking too for sitting out and eating. Can't comment on the food at the Barn as we never ate there but the bar service was always extremely polite and prompt. Would definitely recommend staying there, worth every penny.

We had a lovely time at the chalet. It was very clean ,comfortable and well equipped- lovely crisp, fresh sheets. . The farm was so relaxing and peaceful. Chalet comfortable but in need of a bit of tlc. Bathroom requires updating. Did not like the shower curtain. Decking needs treating. Slippery when wet. Did not get any wifi access during our week's break, really poor reception, but no big deal to us. All in all, a lovely break.

We zaten een week in huisje 1 en 2, samen met vrienden. Alles was net aanwezig, we hebben gekookt in steelpannen want er waren geen kookpannen. De elektrische kookplaat zag er vreselijk uit. Gelukkig konden we serviesgoed lenen uit huisje 2 want er was niet genoeg. De woonkamer was schoon maar zag er niet fris uit. Toen we aankwamen hadden we ons gemeld in de Barn en daar zeiden ze dat de sleutel in de deur zat en verder hebben we niemand gezien van de verhuurders de hele week. Het uitzicht van huisje 2 was een grote rode golfplaten schuur. De slaapkamer en de badkamer zagen er goed uit. WiFi is wel aanwezig maar het bereik is zeer slecht.

Perhaps you did not appreciate that I was the owner as we chatted on several occasions during the week and it is shame you did not ask me for extra saucepans. As you were a group with two one bedroom Chalets it would have been very easy to give you extra pans large enough to cook for 4 instead if the usual 2 provided for in the one bedroom Chalets. You certainly seemed to be enjoying Cologin and the west coast of Scotland so I am disappointed that you have given a poor review as we can’t change the view but we could have dealt with your cooking issues if we had known they were indeed a problem for you. We value feedback and next time I am chatting to guests as we go about our business at Cologin I will make sure I introduce myself. My husband was the chap cutting the grass - you had a long chat with him and he gave you several recommendations for days out!

We had a lovely stay in one of the chalets. To be honest, after reading a couple of poor reviews, I was a bit apprehensive - however everything was perfect. There was plenty of room for two (and our dog) and everything we needed was provided. The furnishings were first class and the bed very comfy. We didn’t visit the pub to eat or drink (as the weather was so nice), but I went across a couple of times to ask about attractions etc and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The site is so quiet, with access to lovely walks, which is just what we look for. We will definitely go back.

What a lovely stay in the countryside yet a few minutes drive from Oban and other towns/villages nearby to explore! The 1-bedroom chalet was clean, comfortable, cosy and provided all the necessities. Gorgeous setting with a hill to climb and woods to hike out the back window plus more around the property. The food at the Barn restaurant was very tasty! Being out-of-country visitors, it would have been lovely to learn more about the area firsthand from our hosts so sorry we didn't have an opportunity to meet. Would definitely recommend Cologin Chalets for anyone visiting the area. Thank you!

We had a very pleasant 3 days staying in this location. It is all relevant to what you are looking for. We arrived in pouring, misty rain but the lodge had outside lights on as a welcome, the radio was playing and the heating was also switched on. The electric fire gave the illusion of real flames so added to the overall cosiness. The lodge was perfect for two of us. Comfy beds and a heated towel rail in the bathroom .... bliss!! My one criticism would be that there was no teapot but that is a very small complaint. The Barn on an evening was a very welcome place to visit. I am a coeliac so often struggle to find 'real' food when eating out and even tho the menu advertised Gluten Free I am always sceptical of what I will be offered. However, I was fed very well during our visit by Mary. Sea bass, lamb cutlets, duck all wth fresh vegetables and an accompanying sauce. Frittered bananas, homemade meringue and a delicious creme brûlée were the pud choices, and more if needed. The quality of the food completed our trip so that really does get 5 stars. We don't usually eat out every evening when away but this time we had to make an exception and enjoy what was on offer. Mary and all the staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to all for making our stay so pleasurable, rain excluded!!

A pleasant cottage was smaller than we expected but it was adequate and comfortable for our needs, the staff were welcoming and very helpful.

We weren't to impressed looking at the red barn, opposite cottage 1 and 2 when we arrived, but we soon got used to it.

Our stay was grand, capturing the pleasant weather that Scotland provides.
One and half days let us down with rain. Time for shopping and sightseeing Dunrollie castle. (Very pleasant and the Views).
Re accommodation, a few minor things missing. Overall, a pleasant stay and meeting Jim.
A long journey up there but pleased with the sights we went on, ie Mull, Eagle-watching and not forgetting the Deisel ride from Fort William to Mallaig.
Thoroughly enjoyed Scotland.

Only comment was the lack of a mat at front door so you walked straight into the living area/kitchen. Also the bathroom needs an upgrade and more cupboard space would have been welcome. A dedicated Reception Area would have been useful though staff in the Pub were very helpful. Would have been handy as we were Ocean Ski racing, to have had access to Wifi but it just did not connect despite numerous attempts.

Great place to be ...away from it all, but with a great bar and restaurant on site with very helpful staff. Its quiet and peaceful and a great place for kids (and dogs) who like the outdoors (as we discovered with ours in 1980 something). The cabins have been upgraded recently but the site was as clean and tidy as always. No doubt we shall return again.

A lovely place set in rolling countryside within 5 minutes drive from Oban. The chalet was very well equipped, warm and comfortable. We loved having the independence of self catering but having the fantastic Barn Bar right on the doorstep where the staff made you feel so welcome and the food was fantastic. Fantastic, we popped in for a couple of drinks each night and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere provided by the wonderful staff. We loved the live music that was on one of the nights and also loved the dinner we had there. A great menu with lots of choice using locally sourced ingredients.

Enjoyed a weeks stay at the Barn chalets with family. Good value accommodation in a beautiful area. The two bed detached chalets I would say are the better option in terms of comfort,view and facilities. We will be returning next year. Had a lovely time.

The chalets are in a good location, near to Oban and its amenities but also far enough away to be peaceful. The surrounding hillls are beautiful. As stated in website they are basic inside and compact but good value for money. Very dog friendly and I would definitely go back.

The location was very pleasant and conveniently close to Oban. However, the facilities in the chalet were fairly basic. This may suit some but we were expecting something a bit better. The main heater in the living room was very noisy and it was fortunate that the weather was such that we didn't need it on much. And the bathroom needs attention. Would we recommend it to others? Depends what you are looking for. If you're not going to be there much and don't plan to use the kitchen to cook, then it's probably OK.

This accommodation was clean and spacious enough for 2 (+ a dog!) and we enjoyed our stay a lot. Nice wee kitchen area and very comfortable couch/bed. The room warmed up nicely with the heater provided when required. Having a bar across from the accommodation was excellent and the surrounding hills for walking the dog were also great.
The only constructive criticism I have would be to have a place specifically for wet footwear/ clothing where they could dry a little faster.

The chalet is laying in a perfect environment. The staff should pay more attention to the guests with respect to the chalets. If they promise new towels they should bring. I have the impression that they focus on the Barn and not on the chalets. I also advise to welcome the guests and go with them to the chalet and give a small explanation in stead of saying the key is in the door. The cleanliness could be better. The oven was to dirt to use. The wifi is very slow and is often not usable.

Very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. There are nice walks starting from the site which are good for an evening stroll after a day's walking. The onsite bar provides very good beer and excellent food but if you want to eat it is best to reserve a table earlier in the day as it is very popular with tourists and locals alike.

The cotage was simple but usefull furnished. It is very quiet and you have a wonderful scenery arround. The nearby pub has good food and drinks. The staff is friendly and helpful. Good location for families with children. Dogs are also allowed.

The chalets were in beautiful condition, and inside of the pub was great, with a wonderfully amiable and inviting atmosphere. However the chalets were a bit close, so it didn't have much of a feel of privacy, and the outside of the barn looked a bit scruffy.

I'm sorry but I wouldn't recommend it, based purely on location, being nestled in that little glen, with no views. However that's unfair, and in terms of quality of accomodation, then yes I would.

We stayed here for 2 nights and all I can say is I would have been more than happy to stay much longer! It was brilliant. We were given chalet 1 & as soon as we walked in the door I was impressed with how modern it was compared with chalets I remember from holidays as a kid. We had our 5 month old Labrador with us and he made friends straight away with the 2 resident dogs. We also had his 4'x2' puppy pen with us and there was plenty of room for it in the chalet. The site location is stunning, surrounded by hills and SO quiet, nothing but the birds and the occasional moo from a cow or quack from the resident ducks to be heard. We were booked in for a meal at the onsite restaurant but were scuppered by a glen-wide power cut which was a shame but out of their control. The only let down (& it wasn't by any means a deal breaker) was the shower could have done with being a bit more powerful. All in its a great base for exploring and also for just sitting outside enjoying the view and peace and I wouldn't hesitate in going back.

Booked this wee Chalet at the last minute and Linda managed to squeeze us in. Lodge was small but perfectly formed and perfect for us. Have been in a fair few of these lodges ( one and two bedrooms) and would thoroughly recommend them. Location is breathtaking and beautiful in any weather( I've visited in all weathers sunshine/ snow) and to have the added bonus of The Barn Bar and Restaurant is just brilliant. Hope to visit again very soon.

I am delighted you found our staff so helpful and you enjoyed your meals in the Barn Bar but of course I am disappointed that you did not feel your chalet met your expectations. I am sorry you were not able to use the Sky box - it was on when you arrived and I checked it as soon as I saw your review and it is still working perfectly so unless you are referring to the fact that it is Freeview Sky (as advertising on our website) I am not sure what the problem was. The kingsize bed was new this season and at the end of the summer we will definitely be replacing the fixed single bench sofa which you obviously did not like! To be honest I don't like it either so thank you for your feedback - and as long as we can fit a full size sofa in the living area we will add one as soon as we can. I do hope you will return to Cologin - and that on your next visit your accommodation matches the excellent service. I have passed on your kind remarks to the staff - thank you.

Only good point was that the bed was really comfortable. The front door which could split in two like a stable door was warped and didn't close at the bottom. Musty smell on entering lodge. There were dog hairs under the cushions of the sofa. Shower made loud grinding noise & didn't have enough water to rinse soap from my hair. On our final day the water cut off completely before I had finished showering. Wifi - supposedly 2 hours per day free only connected on one out of our four days there. Nice enough remote surroundings but accommodation badly needing updating.

Our second time here, agreat spot close to Oban but feels like the middle of nowhere, nice to have the pub so close. Facilities are good however the shower pressure is not great. A folder containing info on the appliences in the chalet and details of local walks used to be provided but was not available this time, bring back the info folder. Cabins are cosy, quiet and good value.

Nice basic chalet in a good location but let down by a shower-room and shower that were poor. The room was gloomy and the shower pressure was so-so. It was not obvious what turning the control knob was meant to achieve. I did not find any instructions.

Two further gripes; 1. I only booked and stayed two nights but had to pay the flat rate £10 for a week's internet (I can understand that it is out of the owners' control that the internet response is bad but they do not have to charge premium rates for it). 2. I did check after I had arrived and saw that charging for electricity is stated however it was a nasty surprise on my arrival. I was staying two nights at £85/night and to be hit for power on top seemed excessive.

Very very friendly and helpful, my dog thought he had gone to doggy heaven as he could go anywhere and made friends with the owners two dogs. excellent food in the pub/resurant and the prices were as a normal pub, I had the hot and cold smoked salmon starter and it was only £5.49.
Great walks right out of the site and as its a mile and a half down a single tracked dead end road there was no traffic and very quite.
I heard a cuckoo several times and swallows and bats were flying around in the evernings.
We will be back.

Séjour très satisfaisant. Malgré la pluie nous avons pu visiter un grand nombre d'endroits formidables. La situation de Cologin est centrale et convient parfaitement a la découverte des Highlands.

Enjoyed our break very peaceful and relaxing. Bar staff very friendly and food very nice.The chalet was comfortable though did not have mirror or hairdryer. The shower was adequate but I personally prefer screen to shower curtains.

We stayed for 5 nights in a 1 bedroomed ladge. The lodge was set in a beautiful location with stunning views. The heating being on when we arrived was a welcome bonus! The accomodation was simple but clean and comfy. I would have liked a few more home comforts like a welcome pack/basket (which I know is something they are working on) and a better stocked kitchen: chopping board, teapot etc. An onsite shop would have been useful for basics; but again, something they are planning for the future.
We took our Springer Spaniel who was welcomed and fussed over by the owners, who were lovely and very welcoming.
The Barn served great food and was booked up almost every night we were there...locals use it too. Food was good: in taste and value. They also provide a "Takeaway" service so on the Sunday evening when we didn't want to cook but didn't want to be in the pub, they plated our meals up and we ate in our lodge...what a good idea! (10% LESS TOO!)
It is a short, 5 minute drive into the busting, harbour town of Oban and there are lochs and beaches within a 10 minute drive.We star gazed up the hill behind our lodge as they choose a dark sky policy..no streetlights, torches etc.

We had a great time and will probably return..only downside for me was it was a bit pricey considering the basic accomodation. (£355 for 5 nights...which included £5 a night per dog)

We had a wonderful time in this idyllic and quiet setting - stunning views to wake up to! 1 very clear skied evening and a treat to see so many stars - shooting stars too!
A 2-day short break wasn't nearly long enough! Accommodation was cosy and very comfortable. Meals, drinks and company at award winning "The Barn" was very homely and welcoming. We definitely would love to return!!

Fairly comfortable accommodation, access road only single lane. Quite a nice setting when you get there. On site pub can be noisy. Charging extra for power was a bit rich.

Excellent site, on arrival local musicians playing the guitar and accordian made my first trip to Scotland very authentic and not just touristy. Great views, fantastic location and very friendly staff. Food and beer excellent too. Would love to go again.

Really lovely setting, good location for visiting Oban , islands and Highlands. Very dog friendly. Very helpful. Chalet was well equipped.
Barn bar outside seating area has a Mediterranean sort of feel. (Probably helped by the nice weather there when we were staying!).
Only downsides -and were very minor- was that the view from our particular chalet was obscured by big red barn, and not a lot of room in kitchen area for food prep, but have dining table. But very minor points. Also trouble getting phone and internet reception in chalet - so got a break from both! (Can find areas on site for reception for most networks though).

Enjoyed it a lot. Would highly recommend it.

Lovely location and nice people. Food was super. The shower in our chalet was not too wonderful but the water was boiling!! Really enjoyed our stay and the whole area.

We enjoyed our stay at the Cologin Country Chalets. They are in a very rural setting but only about 2 miles from Oban. We found the chalet comfortable and provided everything we needed. We took our dog with us and there were plenty of walks for her near at hand.

A beautiful, peaceful location (except when grass being mown and strimmed!), ideal for our requirements for a few days' break. Bedroom a wee bit musty (drawers in bedside cabinet?), shower not the strongest, but these minor quibbles which did not spoil our stay.

We are satisfied with our stay at Cologins. We appreciated the parking space immediately besides the lodge, the well-equipped kitchen and the reasonable price. We did not like the type of heating in the living room, without heat radiation on the front side and blowing cold air when temperature has become high, although this may be personal, as we are divers and had been diving in cold water all day.
